I do not recommend going here if you're white unless you like paying more for stuff because of your color of skin. I think this is why they don't show any actual prices on their stuff but the guy before me said what stuff cost and then when I got charged it was way higher. Some stuff was three times what he said. Delicioso! Stopped by this bakery, recently, hoping to find some of the sugar cookies with toasted coconut on them. Yes, they have some of the best. They are a little bit crumbly and yet not dry and a lot like a butter cookie. I enjoyed the empanada that I had and the other the other baked items I chose were also delicious. I'm not sure if I can say enough good things about this place. Stopped by for dessert after visiting a neighboring restaurant and am yet to visit another bakery since. Their prices are unbeatable and everything I've chosen tastes great. They have such a variety of baked goods that I haven't tasted up to half of it in my multiple visits.....but give me time. Was looking for something sweet on a weekday evening and came across Tres Amigos. Couldn't help but notice it's high ratings and their bakery items in the pictures. It was down the street from my childhood church so I know the area. It was well lit up at 8:45pm Thursday. There are four people in the front and employees in the back. The owners greeted me immediately and with it being my first time in a panadaria, he graciously helps me find what I might like and helped direct me to things fresh out of the oven. Thought I gathered $30+, but it was under $10. WOW!!! The iced cookies were the make it out break it point and they were OUTSTANDING!!! So incredibly fresh and not overly sweet. In fact, EVERYTHING we got was absolutely amazing. Cinnamon, cream cheese, icing, syrup, yummy!!! This is a must-go in west Houston!!! read more

Purchased bread from this basket several times. It's close to my job but a bit pricier than other Latin bakeries. Their bread is okay but I've had better. They have a big selection of bread and a small bolillo they make with cream cheese and jalapeños that stands out. That little bolillo is my fav and the only reason I wood go back. read more

Needed a quick birthday so walked in and bought their tres leches cake. It looked amazing and couldn't wait to try. It was so soft and fluffy and wasn't overly sweet. Once of the better tres Leches I've had. I loved that they had bits of fruit throughout. The price was great for the cake. We also got chicken empanadas and they were full with meat. Good seasoning. Great place! Several different cases and trays of a variety of rolls, cookies, breads, coffee cakes and even fancy cakes and pastries! The prices are not listed at all on the shelves so be careful to ask. I got two bagfuls of pan dulce which included conchas, cookies, filled pastries and a few pumpkin, mango and cajeta empanadas, enough for a brunch of 6 people with kids. The total was around $7 and I still had leftover bread for 2 days! So yes you get a good deal. I will definitely go back. read more

You have to be careful putting it on the metal tray. I have been to other big bakeries and they are more affordable. They have sample cakes on display to pick from. Will update review after eating some sweet bread. Update Just ate a empanada and my wife had a pan de huevo. Bread was so soft, tasty and moist. I go here for bolillos which are always fresh and very inexpensive at 35 cents each. They have a huge assortment of fresh baked goods and they are relatively inexpensive. I purchased a flowercup pastry filled with cream cheese filling for 70 cents. Fresh and delicious and cheaper than anything I would find at a grocery store bakery. Mexican pastries tend to be drier than American cookies. I think it is really beause the pastries have more butter and are more like a shortbread cookie...easily crumbled. read more

Went to pick up a cake for my nephew we didn't get good vibes on the phone so we showed up and selected/explained the cake and design physically we showed up to a surprise to the cake looking nothing alike , no filling in the middle like we asked and the bread was also something we didn't ask for. i still gave them a second chance after being understanding but, this time the owner supposedly took my order so there will be no mistakes and that did not make any difference the inside of the cake no filling like we asked and my son was waiting on his Tres leches cake to his surprise the bread was dried ...safe to say I will not be going back or my family ! This new bakery has been doing finish work inside for a while now. It's in the shopping center at the NE corner of Westview and Long Point, near the El Ahorra Supermarket. The center is a bit gritty, but the bakery is new and fresh. They make custom cakes and have a nice display of some of the "theme" cakes they can do. Like traditional Mexican bakeries, you get a tray and tongs and pick out your items from the glass-enclosed racks. Most of the items cater to the Hispanic community and are less sweet than perhaps American bakeries, but a large selection and reasonable prices. They, also, have fresh made chamurrado, or atole. That stuff is addictive but delicious in small quantities. It's good to see a bakery around this area. Go try it for yourself. read more

Good variety. Clean. Employees aren't very helpful but you get your own stuff so it's not a big deal. The bread doesn't get stale right away so it's good to eat the next day. Beware many of their options have some kind of cream cheese filling that you can't see until you take a bite. This is where it would be helpful if the employees knew which ones and answered politely when asked instead of being annoyed. I didn't make it, how am I suppose to know! I have not been to this place. I have eaten several items that were brought to me by my wife. She is pretty bad about holding items for several days and eating them later. I had the gingerbread pig "cochinito" it was still soft after a week! The kolaches were the best I have had. The fruit filled flaky pastries were crispy on the outside and we'll filled on the inside. I really like their bread they have a good viarety to chose from, my only negative to this bakery is their rellenas the chicken inside is really good but the bread out side is very soggy it's like the dough is not the right one so if you like rellenas like I do don't waste your money here get them some where else. read more
