I ran in right before it closed. It's my first time here but I have always seen it and someone bought me a cookie from here. The cookie was so good and not too sweet so when I was in the area, I had to try more. The lady behind the counter helped other patrons and then came to help me. Memorial Balery did it again! They did an excellent job with the baby shower cake for my first baby, so for my second baby I decided to order from them again. They do not disappoint. The cake colors, design and the little dragon on top of the cake, are literally the best quality one can dream of. Exactly what I envisioned! You don't have to sacrifice the taste for the look either, our guests kept telling me that this is one of the best cakes they have ever had! We ordered vanilla cake with custard filling, a universally loved flavor, you can't go wrong with this combination. The cake is moist and the frosting is smooth with the just right texture and amount of sweetness! I can't say enough good things about their cake. To add a cherry on top, the owner is super sweet and accommodating! Our event was on a Sunday and they don't normally deliver on Sundays. After explaining to her about my tough situation, she kindly agreed to deliver our cake to our event venue on a Sunday and even helped us set it up! The price range is decent: cookies $2.00 or more each, cupcakes $3.00 or more for each, baked items $3-4 for each. Obviously, customers order cake here too. I asked if they would offer some taste tests on the counter like Starbucks (for some items I was not sure of), but I was told that the owner would not allow that. How would I know if I'd like to purchase something new if I don't get to try it? I ended up buying pastries from Starbucks, and advertised them, when the barista, Louise, was always friendly enough to grab a new pastry and cut it up into muffin cups for me to try. The atmosphere and environment is clean, and the girls are friendly and professional. They don't ignore customers; instead, they will come towards the counter to ask if you need any help. Not to be confused with the Mammarial Bakery, which is very... voluptuous in its bakery outputs. This is a totally cute little bakery right alongside the highway, and prices are pretty good here, which is one of the reasons I like it. Some of their products are good and some of them less good, but if you try a few different things and figure out what you like, you'll definitely find some great deals around here. My review is a bit delayed. I came into the bakery around Halloween and tried cupcakes and cookies. The red velvet cupcake was good, however I actually preferred the vanilla one. Both were moist. The vanilla cookies were also good. If you like vanilla, this bakery knows how to do that flavor very well. The service was also excellent and friendly and their prices are reasonable compared to other bakeries around town. I stopped here for my cake tasting. I was running late, but they were super understanding. Once I arrived, they had the four flavors I requested ready. Where oh where do I start? We were recommended Memorial Bakery by my Mother In Law and decided to give it a try for our son's third birthday party. We emailed asking for a quote for the cake but the email went unanswered so we stopped by and boy am I glad that we did. This past March, my lovely wife had a milestone birthday (one of those ones that are divisible by 10). In deference to her sensitive female nature, I won't reveal just how old....uh...young she is, but it was important that this birthday be celebrated appropriately. To this end, I organized a large surprise party and invited just about every friend she had (thank goodness for that Evite site). There was a lot of coordination involved (venue, decorations, food, drink, invites, etc.) and I was lucky that several of her girlfriends helped me out considerably. One of the things I left for myself was the cake. The first recommendation I received was Memorial Bakery. I looked them up on Yelp and saw that they had received two enthusiastic reviews from legitimate Yelpers. Their website was also useful and allowed me to get an overview of what they offered. The party was slated for a Friday, so I phoned Memorial Bakery on the Monday before. I spoke with Rachel who proved to be an invaluable asset. We were expecting 50 people so I told her I wanted a "full sheet" cake ($81.95). She told me it would be no problem to bake a cake that was half chocolate and half vanilla. I asked her to cover the whole thing with buttercreme icing. I'd noticed that for an additional $15, you could have a cake with a photo on it. I wasn't sure about that but thought the idea was cool so I asked her to send me (via email) a picture of a photo cake they'd done in the past. She did. It looked good. I confirmed my order with Rachel via email and attached a baby picture of my wife that I wanted on the cake. I also specified the colors for the frosting and the sentiment to be expressed. A few more emails were sent back and forth because I decided to change the picture the following day. Rachel was on top of everything. When I picked up the cake from Rachel on Friday afternoon, it looked exactly like I hoped it would. I either was very articulate with my request or she was reading my mind. I suspect it was the latter.
