This is a lovely long standing family owned bakery! They have tons of great options of ready made and custom cakes. I picked up a chocolate cake for Thanksgiving and it was such a hit I will need to take 2 next year! We were greeted promptly and the service was quick. I walked in and the smell was *chefs kiss* so I immediately felt good about my decision to kick back here and snack while my son was next door at baseball practice. The people behind the counter were very helpful and recommended a savory puff pastry they were making and their tropical paradise cake. I said yes to both and I'm glad I did. It was delicious. Cilies lack professionalism. This is not the place to be if you want to order a customized cake and you have your own ideas. I've had the worst customer service experience here. The owner, Naushad is too restricted to use his own ideas. He doesn't welcome customer's ideas AT ALL. I've worked with many other cake shops, ordered many customized cakes but never encountered an owner who is not open to work with their customers. First, I told him I'm not much concerned about how the cake looks. All I need is a tasty cake with very balanced sugar on it. The owner said this exactly, "Don't worry about the diet. Everyone can eat some sugar to celebrate birthday." I was flexible to welcome his suggestion and I said "Ok, lets do that then." Although, I was taken aback to hear that. He asked me the party theme, told him its Spidey and his amazing friends. He immediately started looking for Spidey toys on Amazon for toppers. As Amazon did not have Spidey toys during that time, he was showing me the Superhero toys. I told him I already have Spiderman toppers at home that we can use then, as that would be closer to the theme compared to Superheroes. He, who was unfamiliar with Spidey n his amazing friends, now tells me that Superheroes are closer to the character than just Spiderman. He was so adamant with his own notion. I hated the way he spoke and not welcoming his customers inputs at all. I told him I dont like the vibes so I left and didnot order. There's plenty of options in the area. I found one Amazing cake shop with Amazing customer service. And guess what they actually found Spidey n his... toys too! They made it the way I wanted it. Very balanced on sweet and looking gorgeous with the theme. Everyone in the party loved eating it and appreciated the look. That's how you do business, Cilies. Not to mention shop is not good at cleanliness too. read more

I always thought that Cilies just had sweet items. But I was wrong. It wasn't until recently that I learned about their savory items, which includes their mouth watering nihari rolls. Yes, you read right, mouth watering nihari rolls. The tender shredded beef, wrapped up in a warm tortilla, which a smug of sauce... man I want some now. Yes it sounds like something you can make at home, but it's not. Trust me. It's not. Now let's talk sweets. Whatever sweet time you can get from there, is perfect! Their marble cake, and their fruit cakes are my personal favorites. Their fruit cake is moist to the max with the perfect amount of fruit. Customer service is excellent here too! Always a friendly staff which put customer service first. Always. If I am ever in that area and need a quick bite, nihari roll, a Dr.Pepper and a piece of cake is the way to go. read more

I ordered a cake here for my grandma's birthday. The guy who took the order was very patient, and he seems passionate as a cake decorator/designer. There was a lady in line before me that just kept asking questions, and he patiently answered her questions and also gave his suggestions. When it came to my turn, I kind of knew what I wanted but I also had quite a few questions, and he also answered them all, without being annoyed. His customer service on this aspect is superb. I ended ordering a heart shape cake that has rose designs all over and flowers on the top side. He said I should be pleased when I see it, and he will make it very elegant and nice. When I picked up the cake, I did indeed think it was pretty but it had some white flowers, and I did mention before that I didn't want anything white. I told the guy, and he was able to fix it and make it a different color in a jiffy. I kind of did wish it had more flower decorations for the price, but it was pretty the way it was, so it's fine. My grandma ended up loving the cake, and kept saying it looked pretty. The cake itself was soft mostly, but in a few small areas, the cake texture was a bit rough. It wasn't terribly rough, but it wasn't as soft as other areas, which I felt for the price of this cake, the taste should be perfect too. I had also requested strawberries inside the cake, but there weren't any. I would definitely re-order again though even though there were some imperfections. Another plus is the later hours that it stays open which makes it easier for people to pickup the cake. read more

Excellent snacks and customer service. We have been going to Cillie's in Karachi for over 30 years and also her son who has a wonderful shop in Houston by the name of Cillie's as well. The owner Naushad is very kind, generous, thoughtful and listens to our ideas for Cake's & pastries and gives us exactly what we are looking for. He's a creative genius without compromising on the taste. His sandwiches, nihari rolls, pastries & paratha rolls are exceptional. For all my office parties I've always given him an order for sandwiches and other snacks and Cillie's comes through every single time. Highly recommend them. If you live near or are ever in the Stafford area make sure to stop by and give this bakery a try. They have all sorts of shapes and designs of cakes, and they all are very tasty. Along with this mango cake I've had the tres leches, and the coffee crunch which were very moist and delicious. I normally never write reviews but I feel the need to share my thoughts on this horrible cake. My husband bought me a black forest cake for an intimate bday celebration service w family. The outside of the cake was really beautiful however when I cut into it there was several layers w thick white frosting and barely any cake to enjoy. The cake itself tasted really stale, maybe been sitting there for 3 or 4 days. It was dry an the ingredients were cheap. None of my family members had seconds an I snapped a pic for the review then tossed it in the trash. Was so disappointed. They apparently know how to decorate the outside of a cake so they're good for asetheics. However the taste is pure trash. read more

I bought a fruit cake and slices of pineapple cake. The fruit cake was over 45 dollars!!! it had canned fruit that tasted like garbage. I thought for the price, they would at least use tasty fruits! They used more white frosting and not enough cake. The pineapple slice was dry and tasted like cardboard. The service lacks professionalism, the ambiance could use some improvement as well. read more

If and when I have an urge to have something sweet which would leave me with a smile it would definitely be Cillies'.. The beauty of this place is they have a limited menu but the variety within that is so amazing. The cakes are always fresh, you can feel the soft cloudy texture of the cream in the cakes and pastries. The tropical Paradise, Ferrero Rocher and the Pineapple cake is a worth mention. Having said that, the surprise items which shines in the menu are the different kinds of Kabab rolls. They are full of flavor including the Puff pastry. You can always find a cake and bake shop all around H-town, But the one which leaves you supremely satisfied has got to be this one cuz it never fails you.. and the reason I say that is, I drive across town 40miles just to visit this place.. read more

I gave this random bakery a try and I'm glad I did! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BAKERY! The owner was super friendly and accommodating. Communication was easy and he made the cake exactly like I wanted it. I got the coffee cream cake w added chocolate bits for extra texture and it was amazing! It's not overly sweet and still really moist. For reference, my cake is a 10 in cake, 5 layers high. read more

would not return. i stopped in after getting my brows done next door and wanted something sweet. it was around 5-6pm, and i randomly selected a few piece of cake that was premade. ALL three piece were REALLY DRY. i had to take a sip of water after to prevent myself from choking on it. the tres leches was the least dry b/c it was drenched in milk.. i got the chocolate and the tiramisu they both tasted the same. I dont know how long those cake have been there... i see all these raging reviews, hence i dropped by, but i was disappointed after trying them at home. would not return. read more

My TOP cake place in the Greater Houston Area. Delicious flavor and so versatile with their cake designs. It's been years since I had someone else make my birthday cake. Even my little cousins refuse to get cakes from anywhere else on their birthdays! The owner is so friendly and dedicated to making amazing cakes. They even make wedding cakes. I would recommend Cillie's if one wanted to pay a very reasonable price for a semi-custom tiered cake. The bakery shop doesn't make shaped-out cakes like a designer handbag, a sports car, etc., but it DOES make very pretty tiered cakes like the one custom made for my baby daughter's 100th day celebration! The owner, Naushad, is very helpful and accommodating. Thank you Naushad!! I was happy with the cake (see picture) that was so adorable and delicious; I had the fruit flavor for the bottom tier, and coffee flavor on top. Both flavors were just good and not too sweet. Very likely I would go back to custom-make another cake for my daughter's 1st birthday! By the way, my husband had separately bought a piece of the Ferrero Rocher cake when we were picking up the tiered cake, and he loved it! read more

Make your life easy and just come here for your bakery and cake needs. We ordered a chocolate vanilla two tiered cake for 60 people for a baby shower and it was a hit at our event. Our popular cakes are the Tropical Paradise, Black forest, Chocolate Ganache, Mango delight, Coffee Crunch. Cillie's is named after my Mom (Shireen) who started her business about 50 years ago in the city of Karachi/ Pakistan. I , Naushad am continuing this business in Houston with the same recipes as back home.

One of the boxes of cookies was assorted. I don't know their names, but I know few of them has Indian spices. Mmm... So Yummy. It took about 10 minutes for Panini to arrive. Parking can be tight and limited on a busy weekend day but they have parking right out front for the Eck bakery customers. Also note that if you pay with card it's a 2.5% charge so cash is better if you have it. We didn't but we know now for future. We had a great experience here and will definitely be back. Next time we'll come earlier and get a bigger order and try their other offerings.
