I absolutely love Eat Cake! I felt so happy just being in there, and the worker who served me was incredibly friendly and helpful. I tried a few different things, and everything was exceptional. The Strawberry N' Cream slice was light, fluffy, and perfectly sweet without being heavy. The Chocolate Chip cookie was massive and baked to perfection--crispy on the edges and soft in the middle. I also had a slice of flourless cake, which was incredibly rich, fudgy, and decadent. The quality is so high that I've already decided I definitely want my birthday cake from here! 5 stars all the way.

Ordered a red velvet cake and the first few bites were stale. Afterwards it got better but there wasn't a taste. Nothing Bundt Cake does a much better job. The price of mile was $3! I can buy an entire gallon for $2.69 from Kroger. The lady behind the counter nice and the place was clean. Given the taste and price, good chance I won't be going back.

It was super cool witnessing the end product of these amazing artisan baked goods. We got two slices of the lemon blueberry cake at $11 each. The cake is not the usual Big Mama sweet pound cake. In fact, the cake is barely sweet, the thin lemon filling is where most of the sweetness comes from. Service was excellent and inviting. I was greeted promptly upon arriving and my questions were answered. The decor was very appealing and I was impressed with the amount of baked goods they have. The size of each cake was massive!!! I've never seen cakes that huge but then again, this is Texas. Overall, the visit was very nice and I was semi-pleased with my selection. The price was reasonable but when I want cake, I want some sugar because I rarely eat sweets and my sweet tooth needs that fulfillment lol.

This place was so good! When you walk in it smells so good. They have 4 layer cakes that can be ordered or sold by the slice. There are cupcakes, tiramisu, lemon bars, macaroons, 2 layer cakes, banana pudding, and let's not forget those amazing cookies! The woman behind the counter was very patient as i could not decide what to get. I ended up getting a dolce latte cookie and a lemon bar. The lemon bar was so good but the fact the cookies were still warm and tasted amazing! You can't beat that. This place is a must visit!

What a dessert selection !! The service was great and they had no dine in. It was grab and go but it was perfect space for her goodies to be displayed. Very family friendly but sweet tooth's beware---overload of choices. Everything looked great. Went in to buy 3 and came out with 5. Who would have guessed !!! If you're in the area stop in and grab a slab of cake. (Most are 3 or 4 layers)

Stumbled upon this cute cake and dessert shop after dinner in the area, and it was the best discovery of the evening! The server was so nice and gave us recommendations based on our taste, and the shop itself was very cute and homey. Of note there isn't any seating inside, only a table for standing! The seasonal maple cake was absolutely incredible. Rich caramel and maple flavors in the icing and filling layers, with a maple cake. Very sweet, which is what I was looking for, but if you're not into that I would choose another flavor! The blueberry lemon cake was also so good. A bit more tart in the lemon flavors but still a sweet tone overall. A good balance with the maple cake! I also tried the Dulce latte cookie, which included a toasted marshmallow on top of a caramel cookie with toffee chips and dulce caramel filling. So amazing. The slices are HUGE, almost as big as my head! Absolutely love this spot and I'll be back for sure!

    German chocolate cake

We were celebrating my finance's birthday this weekend. We normally do Windfield's Chocolate Bar, but I found Eat Cake online and thought we would give it a try. We ordered the German Chocolate Cake and the Blueberry Cheesecake. The cheesecake was the best of the two items. It was smooth and creamy and had a fantastic taste. There was something there I could not pinpoint, like maybe citrus zest in the filling. It was really fresh. The blueberry compote and fresh berries made it complete and added to the complex flavor. The slice was $12. The item that really missed the mark was the chocolate cake. It was pre-sliced and sitting behind the counter. Perhaps that is what lent to the dry texture of the cake. The German frosting was good and was the only moisture to be found. I believe the slice was $15. I must say, when you walk into the place you see all these tall cakes and are waiting for a great experience. But, when the lady behind the counter simply pulls something already sliced, it lost a lot of appeal. I should have turned around and left. When you go to Winfield's, the whole trip inside is part of the experience. There are so many choices available. You wait in line and watch what others order. The attendants pull the whole cake from the cooler and slice the item right in front of you. They package it up then and there. I know for the chocolate cakes, you can also request toffee bits and caramel topping for no additional charge. The slices are probably 1.5 times larger for about the same price. A totally better experience.

The lemon blueberry cake is amazing! I order one for a party and everyone loved it! Will order again!

To start off with the desserts are so pretty! The full cakes are stunning and the cookies look delicious! The woman at the counter was very nice, we had lots of questions and she answered all of them. The place is small and there's no seating but it's still super cute. The chocolate chip cookie was warm gooey and it practically melted in your mouth. The brownie was fudgey and chocolatey but I wasn't a big fan of the marshmallow, that's just personal preference. I wanted to love the Strawberry Crème cake and the flavor of the cake is really good, the downside is that the slices are like 60% icing 40% cake. The ratios are a bit off and as someone who doesn't particularly like icing it's just overwhelmingly sugary. Beyond that, I'd definitely recommend giving their cookies a try. They also have cheesecakes and macaroons. I'll definitely be back for their cookies!

I been looking and searching high and low in these Houston streets!! And perhaps i have found a dessert home!! The place is small and doesn't encourage you to stay and enjoy your desserts. There is a long bar table but again i felt like it was more of a waiting spot. This is grab and go mostly but it's nice and cozy. I highly suggest the Strawberry cake slice!! Hit the spot instantly!! Super moist and flavorful without being overly sweet and feeling horrible after you eat that huge slice... because you will!! The staff member was very nice and helpful. She answered all of our questions and allowed me to take my time while choosing from all of the goodies! Check your order before leaving as I did receive the wrong cheesecake slice, but otherwise this first visit was a success! Happy Yelping!

In my annual review of Eat Cake, I think I should start be saying- it may be time for an intervention. For the life of me, I cannot enter the shop without purchasing less than $50 worth of dessert items (peep my initial review for my opinion of the cheesecake and various other offerings) On the other hand, my weight gain is your gain, here's what I recommend from this pocket sweet shop and why: *in terms of methodology, I took a bite of each and every one of these treats on day of purchase as the ultimate taste test* The chocolate chip cookie- man this is still one of the most indulgent treats in the city. It still delivers as an ooey, gooey, buttery, freshly baked tasting masterpiece. Simple, but always worth ordering! The brownie with marshmallow- heating this bad boy up in the convection oven will always be a treat! I add salt to mine, and reluctantly say this treat is shareable. I'm a fudgy brownie girlie, and the crispy exterior paired with a fudgy middle makes this treat win-worthy in my book. Midnight chocolate cake- you know what they say- the blacker the berry...and although this cake has 0 berries, rest assured, from the pillowy texture to the varied chocolate varieties offered, this cake is a fudgy, chocolatey winner! Raspberry almond cake-a nearby sweets dealer makes a mean almond cake. That being said, I guess I've set the bar pretty high! This cake was moist, and had a nice crumb, but the raspberry filling was just not for me! Lemon cloud- it's a simple dessert that'll satisfy your lemon bar craving. Is it one of order again-probably not. They have plenty " must try" items, and from my experience this is one is just a lemon bar. If you're considering visiting for the first time, know that the area stays busy, and as of the time of this review (Oct 2024), there's construction in the area. Irregardless of if you find yourself in traffic on your way over, or facing the anxiety of driving through a construction zone on your way out, if you order the chocolate chip cookie, it'll help ease the discomfort!

Lemon blueberry!! That's it that's the review! 3 tiers of moist, delectable, savory deliciousness. Whenever I'm in the heights I stop and grab a slice.

My pictures do not do the deliciousness of these cakes justice. This is some of the most moist, baked confection perfection I have ever had. Inside there's a large display of various flavored cakes, 3 tiers, naked frosted, so many to choose from. We settled for a slice of lemon blueberry and chocolate. Lemon blueberry was a perfect balance of sweet and tart. There was lemon curd between the cake layers, a layer of blueberry compote. The frosting was so rich and tasted so good. The slice of cake was still moist the next day! The chocolate slice was amazing, I can't stress this enough. The people who make these baked goods are pouring love into it. The lady who boxed up our orders was nice. Their cakes are so good and I love to support local businesses. I will return to try additional flavors.

When I stopped by on a weekday evening at 9pm it was packed. They had stations setup throughout the store to order different goods, which helped to alleviate the rush. It was warm, crispy and delicious! Karak tea ($5) - This milk tea drink was made with aromatic spices, primarily cardamom, cloves, ginger and cloves. I was happy to see they used whole milk instead of evaporated milk. The drink was incredibly rich and creamy and tasted great. Turkish delight ($18 / lb.) - This was extremely fresh, soft and chewy, made with cornstarch, sugar, nuts. Some of the varieties I tried had chocolate and/or fruits. The baklava here was fresh made with layers of phyllo dough, chopped nuts, and held together with some honey. The nut offerings here included, almonds, walnuts, peanuts and a few more. For example, with the Turkish delights and ice cream selections, only a few items are labeled. For most of them, you have to guess the flavor or ingredients. When I asked questions, there was a language barrier, and the staff member behind the counter was unable to clearly explain what the items were in English. This can be especially frustrating for customers with food allergies or dietary restrictions. In the U.S., I would expect all flavors and ingredients to be clearly labeled so customers can make informed choices. Even if staff members are not fluent in English, having accurate labels for flavors and ingredients would greatly improve the customer experience. The desserts themselves are excellent, but better product labeling would make the experience much more enjoyable and accessible for everyone.

The cheesecake flavor was okay not overpowering, which I would've preferred more than the almond and strawberry. I think I wasn't impressed with it because the server scooped more of the graham crust than ice cream. I'm pretty sure that's another reason I didn't particularly care for their cheesecake. You're paying for the K-Pop Demon Hunter pop-up aesthetic, the upbeat vibes, the fast service, the themed menu. The desserts? Solid. The Pinky Up Parfait hits. One scoop of cappuccino ice cream comes generous and tasty. Nothing disappoints. But nothing revolutionizes dessert either. This is good execution in service of a limited time experience, not destination-level pastry work. And that's fine. That's exactly what a pop-up should be. The real draw is that everything works together. Vibe, music, service, and desserts that don't let the side down. It feels fun, not gimmicky. That's harder to pull off than you'd think. Bottom line. Pop-ups don't stick around. If the K-Pop theme is your thing and you want solid desserts in a fun environment, go now. If you're just looking for great desserts, permanent spots do it better.

Since we were already in the area after breakfast at TJ's Filipino Cuisine, we finally got the chance to stop by and try their baked goods for ourselves. We arrived early, so the bakery wasn't too busy yet. The bakers were busy prepping more goodies in the back while my cousin and I browsed all the Filipino baked goods we really miss from back home in the Philippines. They even had suman, sapin-sapin, biko, and other kakanin, which was nice to see. I specifically looked for the chicken empanada, and my cousin wanted to try the ube white chocolate chip cookie. We also saw different kinds of siopao and planned to come back later to buy some before heading back to San Antonio. We tried the ube white chocolate chip cookie first, but honestly we weren't totally satisfied. It tasted more like a regular white chocolate chip cookie with purple coloring and didn't really have much ube flavor. I also tried the chicken empanada. My cousin didn't like it because it was sweeter than expected--we were both expecting it to be savory. There seemed to be caramelized sugar in the outside of the pastry, which probably added to the sweetness. I still like it, though it was definitely sweeter than what I'm used to. Red Ribbon's chicken empanada is still my favorite. Later that day before leaving Houston, we came back for the siopao we planned to take home. We finally decided to just buy a couple pieces for ourselves, heat them up in the bakery, and try them fresh. When we saw the price for a four-pack, we were honestly disappointed. It felt expensive for the size. The siopao wasn't huge, and while I like the dough, there wasn't much chicken filling inside. For the portion, taste, and quality, it felt overpriced. Overall, it's probably not worth making another trip back for us. We did enjoy the cassava ube suman, and I like the chicken empanada, but not enough to drive all the way to Houston just for those. If I live nearby, I might come back to try other baked goods, but based on this visit, I'm not sure the rest would impress my palate. I still give them credit for cleanliness and customer service, although we did notice fruit flies on one of the shelves and reported it. The staff was friendly, and the bakery itself was welcoming. At the end of the day, since they're a bakery, the expectation is great-tasting, quality, mouthwatering Filipino breads, pastries ", and kakanin. While some items were enjoyable, overall it just didn't quite live up to the hype for us.

So you know that if I'm in the area of Houston, I have to make a stop. Lots of parking. I got the Biscoff cinnamon roll and my husband got the Irish coffee and cream cinnamon roll. I was a little bit underwhelmed with the Biscoff one to be honest. When I first cut into it, it was so thick and bready that I got confused for a second and said "um... where's the cinnamon? Is this just bread??" Eventually I DID get to the cinnamon part though. But that outer layer was all bread. Perhaps it was how bready it was or that I found the toppings slightly underwhelming but... yeah. Still yummy though but not my fav. My husbands though - his was amazing! But also incredibly rich. I saw a pic of a peach cobbler one of here and it looked phenomenal. Perhaps that'll be my next one. Regardless, we gobbled them both down and had no issues. Would def come back when in the area.
