Did a random search on Yelp for desserts, and the bearded baker came up. So glad it did because it offered alot of great sweet options. We got 2 sugar cookies, 1 oatmeal cream pie and 1 browned butter chocolate chip pecan cookie. Place was clean, staff were friendly, and all the sweets hit the sweet tooth just right. I definitely recommend thus place if you're looking for some sweet bites.

I pass by almost every day on my way home and have always wanted to try their desserts. I didn't realize it's mostly sugar cookies, which are a great if you want to customize designs for parties. I really enjoyed their oatmeal cream pies - regular and Reese's. You can see the vanilla bean in the regular whip, and the Reese's whip is very peanut buttery. I thought the oatmeal cookie itself was delicious, esp cause of all the pecans in it. The cookie is crisp on the outside and chewy in the center. My friend is a fan of pumpkin, so she had the pumpkin cakelette. It's actually a white cake with pumpkin frosting, which wasn't what she was expecting. I don't really like sugar cookies, but I'd come back for their oatmeal cream pies even though they're a little on the pricier side. The place was very clean inside. There's a small 2-person table seating right outside the doors. There's a small parking lot they share with other places.

Located in the heights off 11th st. The bakery itself didn't have many options when it came the baked goods selections. However I have been told their delivery goods service is great. I still plan to try that one day for an event/party. The service was quick and their staff were nice. I got the peanut butter chocolate chip cook and it was delicious. However it being around $5 I wouldn't say it was worth the price but it is located in the heights so it is as expected. They have street and parking lot parking so that was nice and convenient.

I had to up my review because that Reese's oatmeal cream pie was amazing. I'm not a peanut butter fan but I got it for my husband and once I tried that delicate delicious peanut butter flavored cream I almost cried. Solid.

Such a beautiful bakery! Boyfriend and I stopped in for a little birthday treat and we're greeted right away. the display case was filled with mini cakes, brownies, sugar cookies, and even macarons. We decided to get a brownie and a Texas shaped sugar cookie. Both were good ! The cookie however was super sweet in my opinion. Overall I enjoyed my experience and would come again. We were also gifted dog treats for our pups at home. THEY LOVED THEIR TREATS

This is a beautiful cookie shop with a baker who was featured on the Food Network! We just happened to drive by this place and decided to pop in on a whim, and we were greeted by friendly staff. We got one Oatmeal Pecan Raisin cookie, one Brown Butter Chocolate Chip cookie, and one brownie. They had some super cute Houston Astros themed cookies too that we didn't get to try. All the treats we purchased were delicious, chocolatey, and full of flavor. I did dock down a star, however, as it was a tad too sweet for my preference. Would return to try their sugar cookies.

I ordered custom cookies for my sister baby shower. The ordering process was super easy, Allan was a pleasure to work with. They communication was super straightforward and very accommodating. I ordered around 3 dozen cookies and all of the design and colors turned out the way I wanted it. The cookies were a huge hit - everyone LOVED the cookies!! Not going to lie based off my experiences with sugar cookies they tend to be stale. But with The bearded baker, the cookies turned out super soft, not too sweet, the icing wasn't too hard to bite through. You can even see the vanilla beans in the cookies!!! I would highly recommend them for custom sugar cookies, they definitely are going to be my go to going forward for sugar cookies!!

Chocolate chip, one with oatmeal and pecans too! Chocolate chip was best! Oatmeal was a bit too grainy. Sugar cookie was ok.

Was absolutely amazing and it met all of my expectations as far as with a buttered brown chocolate chip cookie!!!

I got the Dark Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Swiss Meringue Buttercream, the service was good as far as with friendliness. The bakery was very empty, but then carry out was quick!

I have envied Austin for years because of all the adorable cookie designs available to them at Hayleycakes, and now Houston finally has their own option. They have both regular desserts and the elaborately decorated cookies - I'm waiting for an excuse to throw a party and order a batch. I did grab one of the smaller boxes for Father's Day and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the cookies. Usually the royal icing type designs are all style and no substance, and these were actually soft and had a good flavor.

I have ordered custom sugar cookies from The Bearded Baker two years in a row for my kid's themed birthday parties and they never disappoint. Allan (aka The Bearded Baker) is incredibly talented and creates amazing cookies to match the themes each time. Last year we had Super Mario and this year 2 Fast 2 Furious. I admit that the cookies are on the more pricy side and I did have to pay extra for the individual packaging, but IMO the quality of these cookies justifies the pricing. Not to mention that our party guests are always extremely impressed by them. If you want good quality custom sugar cookies, I definitely recommend checking them out.

I've been wanting to try the Bearded Baker and finally got to swing by this past weekend. I got a little bit of everything cause I couldn't decide on what I wanted-brown sugar choc chip cookies (with and without pecans), oatmeal raisin cookie, oatmeal chocolate chip cookie, creme brûlée macarons, and a king cake bundlette. My favorite were the brown sugar choc chip cookies with pecans while my sister liked the ones without and my fiancée liked the oatmeal ones the best. There is something for everyone here and the customer service is great.

French style baguettes are perfect. The only problem is the pastries suffer from humidity of Houston and if not eaten fresh they can get soggy and lose their texture. I am referring to the mille fuille. The chocolate cake was really good and held up for a few days. I bought 4 baguettes, 4 mille fuille, 4 chocolate cakes and 2 boxes of mixed macaroons for $100. So not cheap but the flavor and presentation was nice. It's a must try in Houston. They do not suffer from a lack of business. So lines can be long. They are efficient however!! Bon appetit

I also heard great things about the mango mochi so we couldn't leave without those. Thankfully they still had some in stock. I heard they sell out quickly especially on weekends. Those also lived up to its hype. SO YUMMY! Tastes so fresh including the mangoes. My kiddo who LOVES mango anything loved them so much! My husband also got 2 savory pastries (I forgot what they were called and I forgot to take a picture) and those were yummy too. Perfectly flakey crust just like the egg tarts. We wanted to get sesame balls but they were sold out. Customer service was great. The guy that took our order was very nice. It was pretty busy but he moved through the line quickly. There's some seating inside if you want to eat there. Prices are very reasonable at $2 each for the mochi and egg tarts. The savory pastries were $3. It's located in a shared lot/area. Parking can be tight and limited on a busy weekend day but they have parking right out front for the Eck bakery customers. Also note that if you pay with card it's a 2.5% charge so cash is better if you have it. We didn't but we know now for future. We had a great experience here and will definitely be back.
