This is an amazing flagship store- super clean and nice and the staff were great. I actually ended up enjoying the gelato than the actual chocolate. I was a little let down by the taste I'm not going to lie. The look of the chocolates were so beautiful and they even had cool ones for sale by the entrance but I haven't tried it yet so can't speak to the taste. They had samples to try of the chocolate strawberries and those were super pricey otherwise I would've definitely bought a box. That was delicious. I'd come back to try other items. randomly ended up here after having a burger close by - wao wao wao! the chocolate cake were so decadent and they tasted better even the next couple of days (they are so big I couldn't finish it on one sitting) so it was a nice treat to get back to after work! Ordered the Uncle Daryl to go and asked for it to come how they'd serve dine in customers (add chocolate drizzle with extra toffee bits). The cake doesn't have a strong chocolate taste and the icing was just ok. I love a good buttercream icing - my go to is a sprinkles dark chocolate cupcake. However, it was a letdown. The cake and icing wasn't memorable and it was definitely overpowered by the extra toffee bits. I found myself scraping them off to try and enjoy the cake. I remember coming to the Chocolate Bar years ago when it was a larger building and everything was purple on the inside. Today, a new name is added and it's in a much smaller building with no marvelous purple vibe nor touch. It's called Winfield Chocolate Bar after it the business was taken over by a new owner many November's ago. The new owner revamped numerous aspects of what made the Chocolate Bar, the Chocolate Bar. From the candy shop we all grew up to know and fall in love with to a dull and upscale gray & red bronze color shop. Only catering to truffles, ice creams, sorbets, cheesecakes, chocolates & cakes in each display case. At the old location (old owner), you used to can order a slice of cake and it came with a complimentary milk, $1 scoop of vanilla ice cream, or complimentary water. That's no longer available! Even ordering a slice of cake have lost it's flavor. Today, all the cakes except for the Uncle Darryl sits behind a case presented as an actual cake. The uncle Darryl cake is individually cut into a slice and put into plastic containers. It tastes dry, flavorless, disappointing, and freshless. For one slice of cake, it's no longer $5 to $9, however; $13 a slice as I figured for the size it's a great purchase. Wrong! Don't let the mirage of a tall chocolate cake & decadent description from the cashier get you into a dreamlike state to purchase this stale, firm, hard, & crumbly dessert. You will be disappointed and the extra added chocolate sauce & toffee only helps but everything else is not moist making it less enjoyable to eat. I made the mistake of purchasing two slices of cake, the "popular" (understatement), Uncle Darryl & Aunt Etta. Both are a waste of money, next time I'll stick to the cheesecake, but even with that I'm afraid to try due to the area where the cakes & cheesecakes are stored, it doesn't seem well ventilated. You can tell the cakes are not made fresh daily as it lacks a lot of flavor and the frosting has to carry the cake. The lack of moisture and how crumbly the cake was by each pierce with a fork, I couldn't keep it on the silverware. This establishment has gone down hill & it's disappointing as I used to come here frequently as a young adult (20's). It's not as fun & exciting experience anymore & you can tell within the desserts. Why have a cake that's stale, far from moist sitting out in a display cake? And it's overpriced. I kept thinking the CCF cheesecakes are only $9 a slice but I'm getting quality cheesecakes. I woke up out of my sleep because I couldn't help to think of why Winfield's would sell old, expired, dull, and unpleasant desserts? I definitely want to come back to try the cheesecakes, ice cream, sorbets, but I'll have to pass on their signature cakes. read more

Inside was full of treats, chocolate, cake, etc. The service was great - we walked in and were immediately greeted. The store shelves were lined with anything you'd want to try. The chocolate bar is such a solid spot for dessert. Their cakes are humongous, soft, and fluffy. My friend and I's favorite is the strawberry cake, but by the time we got there in the evening on a weekday, they were sold out. We ended up getting the aunt Etta's cake, which was massive and DECADENT as always. The turtle was delicious, and you could tell the caramel was homemade. The white chocolate PB cup was phenomenal, I mean look at that filling. Also, I was randomly craving a chocolate covered candied orange, and let me just say, that truly exceeded all my expectations.
