I was so excited to finally try this place and wanted to go outside of their crazy busy hours in the evenings. So, I went on a weekend around 11 a.m., right after they opened. I was right; it wasn't crowded--just my husband and me. We ordered an Arabic coffee and a latte with milk. (As a side note, they were out of Arabic coffee, so we opted for Turkish coffee instead.) We also decided to purchase some chocolate. The person at the till showed us a couple of chocolate box options, and we chose the large one to fill with amazing and interesting chocolates. Yummmm We also asked for a bar of the viral Dubai chocolate bar. The employee said he had already added it to our box! We asked him twice, and he agreed. We complimented his stealth and efficiency. He even charged for it. When we got home, the Dubai chocolate was nowhere to be found. It wasn't in the box, the bag, or anywhere else, but there was definitely an additional charge on our receipt for it. Why did the employee double down on confirming that it was in the bag if it wasn't? While I want to assume it was an innocent mistake, this was an utterly disappointing customer service experience, even though it had a really welcoming vibe set up by the Syrian traditional family and their history depicted on the walls. The best midnight snack. We were craving something sweet and we found this place that's opened till midnight. We ordered the fruit crepe and it was amazing. Everything here is great! Highly recommend the Cookies n Cream or trying a strawberry/banana Nutella crepe. They have a good amount of seating and the food is prepared relatively quick. The ambiance is family friend OUTSIDE OF people smoking on the outside tables. There were many kids and pregnant mothers having to walk past 2-3 smokers just to access the inside, that should NOT be allowed. Folks have no courtesy and even while seeing pregnant moms and young kids they continue to blow their smoke out with no consideration. Syrian owner I believe from the photos of Damascus on the wall and entertainer posters. They had 4 different Dubai chocolate options ranging from 3 bucks to 40 bucks. A customer suggested we not get the smallest pyramid shaped on because the chocolate to pistachio ratio was off. So we got the second to largest one for 9 bucks which is essentially twice the size of the standard sized 5 buck bar. The strawberry Dubai chocolate cup is 20 bucks and has been our go to now ever since we tasted it at another place. Everything tasted pretty par for the course. Staff was nice. Not crowded at all. This was my daughters and I first time coming here and it was an experience to say the least. The location is settled in a shopping center that is very quiet and nice to just sit, relax and enjoy a coffee or other treat from this location. The staff were very friendly and informative when we had question. My daughters ended up getting a chocolate burrito, a kinder crepe and I got the half chocolate waffle. Everything was very flavorful, but for me personally the chocolate was extremely overwhelming. I had initially wanted the waffle stick with sides of chocolate so I can apply an amount that worked for me. But next time I'll ask for the chocolate on the side. Both my girls enjoyed their plates respectively. My only complaint were the prices. Granted I can see why they charge this amount because the foot traffic isn't really as high as I thought. Dark, milk, and white. That just sucked me right in. There are waffles, crepes, and a huge assortment of hand crafted chocolates. I ended up with a crepe and three pieces of chocolates. Crepe: we got the number #1. The crepe was freshly made right in front of us and then covered in dark, milk, and white chocolate. The chocolate was also presented in a fancy design. The chocolate was silky smooth and so very rich. However, it didn't have that sickly sweet taste that some chocolates have. I think it is due to the quality if their chocolate. This place is such a gem! The service was so kind, the presentation was beautiful, and the inside was beautiful! My husband and I split the pistachio crepe and it was amazing! It was so light and creamy. We got the afghan coffee and tiramisu latte as well. They were definitely more traditional and concentrated (the afghan coffee tasted more like tea). I ordered a Dark Chocolate Crepe less than four hours ago. It had been awhile since I gone here. This place is like a sibling of Sleek just two minutes or less down the road, but slightly different. I really like all 3 chocolate flavors here. However, the dark one is always my # 1 favorite chocolate type and the one I want most of in both amount and taste. My crepe was very delicious, fresh and good quality. The crepe itself was soft and easy to cut. The big highlight was of course the gourmet, homemade dark chocolate sauce covering it up. We bought 2 Dubai chocolates and they were bitter and stale. We told the people at the cashier and they ignored it and said it was freshly made and that we should also just put it in our refrigerator but they didn't even taste it and it was us who tasted it. When I was trying to tell them the issue they ignored me and denied. What a fun place to come to hangout! I came here for post-dinner dessert with some friends I was catching up with. A great place to go after dinner to spend a while continuing to chat. We got the fondue and it was so delicious. Wish there was more chocolate though, we were scraping the bottom by the end. However, the chocolate is great and high quality. We sat at a table for a few hours just chatting, eating chocolate, and playing cards - great place to hang out and spend some quality time for sure! The owner's of this establishment make very good desserts and work very hard doing it. They're good people, so I hate to write a bad review for them. But they're completely incapable of handling the huge surge of business they've had lately and, as a result, the service is often just plain awful. I brought family and friends, and we waited nearly an hour before receiving our order (and not everyone even ordered). I complained, and an employee apologized, which should have been the end of it. But this one other employee stepped in with this ridiculously passive aggressive attitude. I told him I had spent $150 and didn't pay that much to be treated this way. I had actually spent more than $200 over the past couple of days. He said, "So what? You think I should care how much you spent?" I never heard anything more ridiculous and just plain arrogant. I explained to him that a customer's business is literally how you stay in business lol. He just kept going until the business owner (Mr. Sliq is a very decent and admirable gentleman) asked him to go to the back. If I didn't have guests with me, I would have made that dude's night a very bad one. I later came to know he's actually part of the family which owns and runs the business. I hope they had a talk with him. I'm leaving two stars because I feel bad for the owners, but I just can't ignore how poorly and rudely we were treated. If it weren't for my respect for the family who owns the business, I'd leave just one star for sure. Either way, I won't be back. I briefly made a comment in my Instagram story about this, and they blocked me. Someone please advise these guys on better business practices and how to constructively engage customers. Service was super friendly and really accommodating (despite they were super packed!). There are seatings about in and outdoor. - Zeina fruit waffle (4/5): thick honey waffle, soft inside with a slight crunch on the exterior. Toppings include fresh strawberry and banana chunks with 3 chocolate sauces. Overall it's a great dish to share or just have it all to your self. - Sushi roll (5/5): from strawberries/banana and crepe, with a chocolate fondue. Super solid yet light dessert, not too carby. Great choice when you just had a heavy dinner. You can also request to have strawberries only. There's also an expansive selection of chocolate truffles and treats.
