I've been to Cloud 10 Creamery in the Heights multiple times over the years. It's been awhile since I'd visited because one of the easiest ways for me to get here is along the MKT trail. Well, the bridge finally reopened and this was one of my first stops. Parking is available along the street and selectively around the area though it can be hard to find one in peak hours. Vibe / Interior - 4.5* This location is an old house converted into a simple store front with indoor and outdoor seating. The charm and vibe is solid for just relaxing. I know Chris takes in their small-batch ice cream and sorbet with no artificial items, extracts, additives, etc. Ice Cream & Sorbet - 3* They always have some seasonal or limited edition type flavors. I've found it's best to sample what you haven't tried because frankly there's some that are pretty average and others that really deliver. It just feels like there's not enough delineation to some of the flavors to where they really can shine. It's more subtle. Their top sellers are the brown sugar cookies and cream and the Nutella with marshmallows. Of these two, definitely get the latter, it's addicting. I've found the mint chocolate nice because it is natural and not full of fake artificial flavors and the chocolate is a good consistency but again I find the overall profile to be just too light and not bold enough for my liking. This tends to be where I draw criticism. And if you really want to splurge in calorie intake, get the banana sundae with chocolate. Very shareable. Staff - 4* Their staff is usually quite friendly and helpful. There's been a couple of occasions where they certainly were more in the "oh yay another customer" but never anything unprofessional, more just tired and want a break. Cost - 4* As I always say, subjective but I find the cost of a single scoop to be over the top while the double tends to make more sense. I get they are trying to get people to upsell, but honestly I feel like I might visit more for a small bite than less often for more. The sundae and some other offerings seem reasonable. Overall - 3.5* I think 15 years ago when the craft ice cream scene wasn't as saturated (pun intended) in Houston this would probably score a bit higher but there's some serious competition these days. That said, the Cloud 10 team is consistent and they are well located, which makes it very convenient for people to swing in. I personally visit because of the location convenience but likely wouldn't stop or go out of my way if it weren't along the trail. Ultimately, if you're in the area, want a cool vibe to enjoy a scoop or two with your kids or pets, give it a go and be selective on flavors. I wouldn't consider this a must have Houston dessert destination. read more

They emphasize handcrafted ice creams made with premium ingredients and no artificial flavoring, extracts, or additives, and the brand has grown from scoop shops into grocery stores and delivery. From a logistics standpoint, it's easy to visit. There's plenty of parking available, indoor seating, and an outdoor patio where you can sit and enjoy your ice cream. The issue for me is the ice cream itself. While the ingredients seem high quality, many of the flavors taste very similar. I've sampled a lot of them over multiple visits, and it's hard to find strong distinctions beyond minor ingredient differences. Girl working here said I got no discount to purchase a separate pint because I bought 2 scoops, not one. You have got to be kidding. She clearly works for a business and she has no concept of how they make money. Unbelievable. I hope the owner sees this. This is a super cute ice cream parlor which was probably a house at one time in the heart of the Heights in Houston. Our family and I walked over for dessert after a light dinner next door. They have a lot of choices of creamy ice cream and sorbets. A couple of us enjoyed some scoops and then took a pint of Mango sorbet with us across the street to the park. Altogether, the service was good and the price points surprisingly low for the neighborhood that this creamery is located in. We definitely recommend them! read more

Solid 3.5 star on this one. Located in the heart of the Heights inside an old house, the characteristic is definitely captured in the store. Parking is available via street and a large lot. Interior is pretty small and there were about 14 or so flavor choices. Got the earl gray and Thai tea. Obvious thing here is that prices are out the wazzoo for ice cream. A pint is $9 and you can definitely get 3x that amount at a store. Flavors are a little bit underwhelming and the texture of the ice cream is almost no different than a thing of Häagen-Dazs. Great location and I'm sure it does well, but honestly a more boutique and homemade store would be better suited than a more chain ice cream shop. read more

I went on a Friday night and it wasn't busy at all Food: I ordered the toasted rice and my husband ordered the pandan. I like that they had since unique flavors that I couldn't find anywhere else! Overall, I wanted more out of this place. The ice cream is good, but the prices are what I consider very steep for ice cream desserts. We ordered the banana split, which gives you your choice of 3 ice cream flavors to build the base (I was happy it was a choose your own adventure situation vs a pre-selected split). They then top the ice cream with magic shell (fun!), whipped cream, and some sort of pecan-y sweet crumble mixture. The whole thing was very yummy, but it cost us over $12. Granted, it fed 2, but still...$9-10 would have seemed more acceptable. But, I get that this is a local business and I should be happy to support. Another let down came with the lack of indoor seating - there are 4 2-person tables. There are plenty of seats outside, but this is Houston, and I don't care how cold my ice cream is, I still don't want to melt outside in the summer. The location is great, there is plenty of parking, and the staff is friendly. If you love soft and silky ice cream with unique flavors, this place is for you. Cloud 10 is my favorite ice cream joint in Houston! I'm so glad that they decided to open a second location in The Heights. This one is much more spacious, they also have a few bench tables outside. Cloud 10 has several signature flavors like their cafe sua da (vietnamese coffee), nutella & marshmallow, toasted rice, etc but they have seasonal flavors as well. My favorite thing here is the banana split, which you can order in a personal size! The banana split comes with a caramelized banana with 3 different flavors of ice cream: nutella & marshmallow, dark chocolate, and vanilla bean. All of them are absolutely amazing. It's topped with candied pecans, crumble, and whipped cream. (I usually hate whipped cream, but I was told that everything was made with naturally with no artificial flavors). If it's 130 degrees outside, why not stop and have a cool snack to treat yo self? We were hurting' for certain due to the heat while shopping for things we didn't need, so we decided to drop in cloud 10. It was our first time there. It has a nice, fun interior and we felt like kids again. The line was filled with little kids who were just as excited as I was to get some ice cream. The line moved a bit slow, but the workers behind the counter were very nice. I thought the ice cream was pretty good and tasty! I might have gained the weight back I lost from my sweat outside 10 minutes before. There were some interesting flavors as well. Being Asian, I had to try to rice flavor. It....tasted like rice, haha. If wasn't for me, but I thought it was cool they had unique flavors. I will say the only tough thing about the place is that the seating is very limited inside. I think it's a bit pricey it's trendy decor and fun flavors but not much flavors to choose from. It surely smells nice because of the waffle cone making I am sure.
