Stopped by around 11:30 pm with a group of friends. There was just one person working at the time, so it took a few minutes for each of us to be served. I ordered the chocolate brownie flavor. The ice cream was decent. The color was very light for a chocolate/brownie flavor. The flavor was not as intense as I would have liked, and I was surprised that there were not any brownie bits in it as is typical for a brownie flavored ice cream. The ice cream truck is located in a random parking lot next to some apartments/bars. You can stand around or go to your car to eat, but that's about it. Aside from the light from the ice cream truck, the lot was otherwise poorly lit. Not the best vibes to hangout. The ice cream was also $5-6 for a single smallish scoop. A cutie spin on the "ice cream Truck" ! After having lunch in the Montrose area we had a craving for a sweet treat. With the Texas heat we decided to check out this icecream truck. Cheaters is located in a food truck lot that had plenty of parking and when we went it was very empty. As we walked up to the window we were greeted immediately and the person inside the cheaters truck was very attentive and friendly. Bf and I decided to get the cake sundae. Two scoops accompanied by a yellow cake. Topped with fluffy whipped cream and a cherry. After some sampling we decided on "milk chocolate" and "cinnamon churro". Both flavors were delicious! The cake wasn't overly sweet either which made the sundae overall bearable. If you're in the area and wanted a quick sweet treat I would recommend stopping by. read more

Ok the ice cream is good! Very creamy and fresh!! Not too sweet but will satisfy the sweet tooth. Staff were nice and efficient. I was able to sample as many flavors as I wanted before making my final decision. My wait was not long at all for my order. The ordering process is pretty easy if you follow the menu in order. Cheaters is on uber eats too so if you can't get out of the house, that option is available to you. The ambience was not the cutest and the food truck appears to be a little run down. Lights were half on and half broke. It looks old but not in a cute rustic way. There is no where to sit so standing and eating is what you have to do. The location is near clubs and bars who use the parking lot for parking so this is more of a spot perhaps catered to that crowd. Aesthetically this not a place for cute pics but the flavor was there and ice cream is over all really good. I plan to be back to get the coffee bean TO GO of course! Happy Yelping! read more

This ice cream is good and the milkshakes are delicious! We've passed this truck a million times and a sweet tooth moment led the hubs and I to this ice cream truck, and I'm so glad we gave it a whirl! Disappointing experience. It took nearly 10 minutes just to get a single scoop of ice cream, and there was only one couple ahead of us who already seemed to have been waiting for quite a while. They were completely out of cones, which felt like a basic thing to run out of, and when someone else asked about milkshakes, they were told none were available tonight--which made no sense for an ice cream shop. Barbi and I are cheaters, in that we would always cheat on each other with really hot people, or at work all the time lol, but preferably (for her especially) somebody good looking because we like that kind of thing, it's a hobby and a job, and we give each other permission to do so, encourage it strongly really. Together, separate, no rules, complete trust, honesty, openness, it helps that she and I think a lot of ourselves and are the only 2 people I know who do not have a single jealous bone in either of our bodies, okay, maybe I have one in that I'd like to be as well known for my singing as Adam Levine but most certainly not with such a falsetto-driven voice or singing Max Martin's songs, just my own please. But in all seriousness, we are Cheaters and we're not jealous at all. But some ice cream places would be jealous of this place. We both like ice cream and we think the ice cream here is excellent. I don't have the same complaints that others do about the parking because it's actually situated next to the nightclub, the best one in town honestly, the one where Barbi worked, so of course parking is going to be tricky even though they want it to be free, and even though the nightclub has told them customers get 15 minutes free. Of course, you can expect the very angry people that enforce the club parking not to let that slide. Skip the parking lot, stay on the street next to the truck, just stick your flashers on and stop anywhere and preferably leave someone with the car and go get your ice cream and you'll be fine. Cops don't care what you do, too busy dealing with shots fired on a nightclub night, the tow trucks on the other hand you have to keep an eye on, they act completely illegally and autonomously. If you leave it for too long without anybody with the car then worry about being towed, because again this is next to nightclubs and this is where they get a lot of their business. But the ice cream is definitely delicious if a little expensive because it's next to a nightclub. Amazing. Definition of cheaters: people who exploit systems (i.e. US political system or Yelp being very arbitrary about what they remove from their site and letting random people request removals for their own selfish reasons), for their own gain, and pretend it's for altruistic reasons. me and my bf love this place we didn't really have a waiting issue like others and the ice cream is soo good but recently we've been going at the open hours of course but these past three times there was no one the truck was closed and everything we arrived at 5 and waited over 30 whole minutes thinking someone was on break it clearly said open on their hours it was really disappointing to just waste time when we see it's open and no is serving?? i don't think we'll be coming back just to waste time or gas. read more

Had Cheaters on my "try" list for a few months but the timing never worked out. Today I made a little detour on my way home and tried it out. I had a sample of the Mexican Hot Chocolate-one of their holiday flavors but couldn't finish it once I learned it contained cinnamon which I can't eat. I settled for the Cookie Monster. I ordered one scoop and that was approximately $5 + change which felt overpriced when I realized unlike other places where one scoop usually includes a base, this was really only one scoop and a small one at that. The ice cream was smooth and creamy for sure. The best part was the oreo-the chips ahoy flavor didn't stand out much. I went when no one else was there-the truck was in a lot with other food trucks, I feel it could be confusing and frustrating if the lot is full-which also had a note about towing for those who didn't pay. First of all is way over priced. Thought it was a great idea today to stop with my three year old because it's 92° out and get a thing of ice cream. We each ordered a scoop. We waited 25 minutes while she filled one order, then took some seven other orders after us and still hadn't filled the order. And I asked her if when it was coming and was told she needed to take another order. I finally asked her to please give us our two scoops of ice cream or to please refund us and she went ahead and refunded us half with waiting there for 25 minutes.
