Food is always fresh, delicious, and priced well. Cajun rice is a must! Over all great place for seafood and steak!

I had lunch here about a month ago on a Saturday. Yelp brought me here as I was in the area. It's located on the corner of a strip shopping center with parking in front. Nik's is a casual table service restaurant that looks very nautical inside with its decor and is small inside. After looking at the menu that consists of steaks and seafood dishes I realized it's quite affordable too. In fact, steaks are a big part of the menu. I ordered a combo type meal of a 5 oz. sirloin with 5 blackened shrimp and mashed potatoes for $12.99. The meal came out in less than 15 minutes. I must say that the sirloin was outstanding! Seriously, I can't remember eating a steak that was more flavorful and tender as those 5 ounces were. It was better than most filet mignon's that I have experienced. However they do it, the steaks here are legit. I want that steak (no, need that steak) again and soon. The blackened shrimp were tasty and enjoyed too. Finally, I was impressed with how creamy and smooth the mashed potatoes were along with the delish gravy on top. For $13 this meal rocked! Finally, my waiter, William gave excellent table service. I don't live near or frequent this area often however I want to come back. This meal was an easy 5 but after just one experience I'm hesitant without trying something else and think I should give a 4 for now. But that steak was soooo good.....

Listen up Yelpers! Myself and two others stopped here yesterday for lunch. It's hidden in a strip center off 2920 in north Houston, so you have to look hard to find it. Our waiter ( Maureling) was very professional and polite in all aspects. The food was crazy good!!! We had jumbo wrapped shrimp brochettes and salmon with a baked potato. SERIOUSLY, it was delicious. The little restaurant was clean and pleasant. Give them a try, and ask for Maureling! You'll be glad you did! Peace.

It's in a strip mall, and the inside is basic, but the food is great. The service is also friendly. They have a varied menu. I have been twice and gotten the shimp po boy grilled and fried. Both times I have gotten it with the side salad, which is a nice size. The shrimp has been cooked really well. Everyone I have been with has seemed equally pleased with their choices. There is lot's more on the menu that I want to try, and plan on going back regularly.

This was the Cajun-style rice & ribeye steak after the plate was split into 2 plates. Steak is perfectly cooked for medium-rare.

This restaurant is really a gem! Small family-owned restaurant that serves great tasting meals. Great prices for good quantity of foods! If you don't need giant brand-named fancy steakhouse restaurants, this would be the place for what would be like a homemade steak made on the grill or in the old-fashion style of a cast iron pan. We shared a 12 oz ribeye steak with sides of broccoli, Cajun-style rice, fried shrimp & fried oysters. The ribeye steak was perfectly cooked on a grill. We requested a medium-rare steak. Steak was super tasty! Cajun rice was delicious and the steamed broccoli still had a good crunch & not mushy. The fried shrimp & oysters had a light batter coating and was crunchy & tasty. This was a great meal that was shared between 2 persons and cost us about $25. Loved the staff! Attentive and friendly! Restaurant has a few tables and always has customers. Highly recommended this little place!

Our waiter was excellent and gave solid recommendations. I ordered the blueberry margarita and it was sooo good--sweet, refreshing, and definitely a win. Our waiter suggested the smokehouse platter to share, and we added an order of truffle fries. Let me just say... those truffle fries were AMAZING. Thick-cut, crispy, and full of flavor--hands down the best thing on the table. The smokehouse platter was more than enough food for two people. The brisket sliders were tender and flavorful, the wings were great, the pickled peppers were a nice touch, and the ribs were finger-licking good. The only downside was the potato skins--they were just meh compared to everything else. Overall, great food, great service, and a really nice atmosphere. I would definitely go back, especially for a date night or casual dinner.

The place is inside a hotel but has access from both outside and inside the hotel lobby. SERVICE: We sat at the bar, received our menus and asked for two coffees, which never came. A while later, a different server/bartender asked if you want drinks we requested a coffee again. We had to request various items multiple times from multiple people before they were actually brought over to us. No big deal, we weren't in any particular rush, but have you ever gotten that feeling like you're bothering the server every time you ask for something? That was that feeling. I was still eating when we were handed our check. We paid. We were planning on staying for mimosas after eating, so we asked for 2 mimosas we were handed our drinks with a check. Again, the place was not busy, to the extent that the staff was hanging out and talking in a group. (That doesn't bother me, we all deserve some adult conversation.) We felt in the way so we paid and decided to go elsewhere for some mimosas. FOOD: I had the waffle with a side of bacon. Waffle was served warm, crisp & soft as a waffle should be. It was nice and thick and a great size, plus it was delicious! I couldn't finish it, I was soo full! The pecan butter was scrumptious and the berries were fresh and sweet. Both in great proportion to the waffle. The bacon was crispy and served warm. Overall a delicious and plentiful breakfast. CLEANLINESS: The place was clean, clean. The bar, general restaurant area and bathrooms were all spic & span.

Small place, very non descript for a place with these accolades. This was our second time here…read more The food was on point again. We had a couple apps (they were ok) and split the duck mole and crispy potatoes. The mole here is one of my favs in Houston. It changes a little depending on the season but is always really good. And the potatoes have a flavor profile unlike any other potatoes in Houston. Dessert was strawberry cake and it was very light and not overly sweet. Perfect ending. The service also deserved a mention. It was pouring rain and the only reason I kept my reservation is because it was our anniversary and my wife really wanted to go. We were a little wet when we arrived and the staff was very accommodating to make sure we felt comfortable. They had some champagne for us and made sure to put us in a back table where it was a little more quiet given the occasion. I can't stress enough how good their service was. We just came off visits to two other places we frequent a lot in the Heights area (both are very well known) and the service was a nightmare. Thank you guys for such a great visit!

Parking was expected to be an issue as the lot is shared with other businesses in the center, but was not an issue for an early evening Saturday. But parking can be an issue at times, I was told. The restaurant is small with only tables and maybe 4-5 seats at the small bar. We arrived about 15 minutes before our 6:45pm reservation and had to wait due to no available tables, but that was not a showstopper. The noise level was moderate throughout our stay such that one could easily carry on a conversation with table mates without having to scream. Almost all patrons were nicely dressed. Since this is a Michelin acknowledged restaurant two years in a row, we were expecting uniqueness and we were not disappointed. That said, food was very good, but I would not rate it as spectacular. The blue fin tuna tostados were delightful and hands down the best dish we had. Ceviche mixto was excellent with a just a hint of heat. I would order these two appetizer dishes again. Main courses consisted of duck 2 ways, redfish with green mole and risotto, spring cavatelli, and grilled shrimp & pork belly. All were delicious and uniquely tasty with the exception of the duck. Mind you, I really like duck and the sliced portions were excellent and perfectly seasoned and moist, but the pate-like accompaniment was not that good, plus the mole sauce was not what I was expecting. Table sides of Brussels sprouts and fried cauliflower were good but nothing special. The Eton Mess with strawberries was simply delicious. Would I go back? Maybe, but not anytime soon.

I know. "Fine dining" and burgers? But that's what I wanted. I searched the web and found the Chefs Table in Vintage Park, and it wasn't too far from us here in The Woodlands, so we decided to make reservations and head there. From the moment we entered, we were treated like special guests. The ambiance is rich, but not overdone or stuffy. Simply classic and relaxing. Our booth felt private and unhindered by conversations of nearby diners or wait staff bustling past. Our cocktails were perfect. The calimari we ordered as an appetizer was probably the most tender and delicious either of us have ever had. And when our burgers arrived, I was so happy. It was exactly what I had set my mind on when selecting my birthday dinner experience. The blend of brisket and chuck was absolutely delicious, set atop a perfectly buttered toasted bun, with some crispy onion straws on top. And the fries... oh my! I rarely if ever eat fried food - so clearly this was my big day to completely go off my standard fare, but those fries had the perfect crunch and flavor. Apparently, when my husband made our resv, he told them it was my birthday, so our server brought out a delightful complimentary spiced cake dessert after we were finished eating - for us to share. It was the perfect finish to an already amazing meal. Thank you to the entire staff at The Chefs Table yesterday, for helping to create a memorable and delicious birthday feast for my husband and me. We will definitely be back to try some other delights because the menu is packed full of amazing looking dishes.
