A heartwarming moment yesterday at Mia's...on May 9,2025. We sat down at our table. When food arrived.. my daughter looked at my mac and cheese and said she wished she got that with her kid's chicken strips. I moved my bowl so we could share it. But then a sweet waiter named Alfredo brought my daughter a bowl of Mac and cheese. He must of seen and heard my daughter.. saw my child's sad face. He paid attention and what he did.. will forever keep us as customers. Little things like that .. mean so very much! Thank you Mia's table! Thank you Alfredo!!! The atmosphere is kind of like Willie's. It's fun and comfortable. You order at the counter and then they give you an rfid card and they bring you your order. I had the bison burger, it was well seasoned and delicious. We were able to hang for a bit and just talk. My friend had the chicken fried chicken. It was excellent. Nice menu variety. Some people stopped and visited with us. It's like a neighborhood hangout. We'll go back and try some of the other menu items. read more

Ya'll really let me go this long not having Mia's Table! What a shame! I mostly blame myself because they have six locations throughout Houston and should have stopped in sooner. Part of the Carrabbas family, I should have known this place was going to be amazing. This location in the Woodlands area was where we stopped on our way back from Dallas. This place is very spacious, with plenty of seating inside and out. The staff was very friendly from the person who took our order, to the bussers walking around. They even offered us to go cups when they took away our plates. We kind of had snacks and light meals throughout the day so I was ready to eat. They do counter service here where you order you food at the counter, get a buzzer and seat yourself. We came at the tail end of dinner so no lines and quick service. I was starving and saw they have chicken fried steak on the menu with two sides. I'm a chicken fried steak snob so my expectations were high. Their more upscale sister restaurant Grace's which happens to be one of my favorite restaurants in town has a dish with jalapeno cream gravy. It is hands down one of the best gravies you will have. I saw they have that here which made my dinner choice a no brainer. Without much thought, I got sides of mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Should have got a veggie but YOLO. The food came out in a timely manner and was hot and fresh. There was no gravy on the potatoes but it did not need it. It was delicious plain and you could tell they were made from scratch. The mac was creamy and gooey, just like I like it. Very good flavor as well. The star of the show was the chicken fried steak though. My first bite was heavenly. You could tell they tenderized it just right, seasoned the meat and the breading, and cooked it to perfection. It was probably one of the better chicken fried steaks I have had. The gravy was just like I remembered it at Grace's. This meal was absolute perfection. The portion size was huge and I only made it half way before throwing in the towel. I ate it the next day and it tasted great reheated as well. I am a huge fan of this place now and have already praised this place to my friends and family. They have locations throughout Houston and I will check them out when I am close to one for sure! read more

Food is always good. Service has always been great. Lighting is good. You can always end your meal with some delicious ice cream. However if you come late in evening they will start cleaning up and draining machine without any warning. Only thing I don't like is they ask for a tip when you order your food and pay for it. I prefer to leave a tip to the folks who bring my food out and clean up vs at the register before I even know how my food is going to taste or how the service is going to be. read more

As usual the food was good but i was more impressed with the customer service this particular visit. My wife and I did an online order and for her order i put birthday girl for the name. This was the first and now last time I will go to this restaurant chain. I ordered the meatloaf meal and the fried shrimp & catfish meal. Spent $44.99 before them asking for a tip. The food was horrible. The meatloaf was wet and raw on the inside and burnt black on the outside, smothered in a brown gravy that tastes like powder gravy mix and raw onions. No other flavor could be found. The cream corn was soupy and salty (no spoon provided for this mess either). The sweet potato fries were burnt as well and loaded with salt. $16.49 for this mess of a plate. My son's seafood was over cooked as well. The shrimp had so much batter, there was hardly any shrimp to be found. The catfish were the size of fish sticks you get from the grocery store. These were not fillets that would normally be provided for a $18.49 meal. He received 2 onion rings, 4 shrimp and 4 fish fingers with a condiment dish of cabbage (that was supposed to be a coleslaw?) and a handful of french fries. The food was so bad that he ended up bringing it up on the side of the rode 15 minutes after leaving the restaurant. I tried to call the restaurant to alert them of his illness, so they could check the food prep areas to make sure there wasn't anything that needed to be corrected so others weren't sick, but was left on hold for over 15 minutes. I understand it was lunch time, the place was crowded, but that is no reason to leave a caller on hold when they had alerted the person that answered there was a potential problem. So, if you want to spend a ton of money on garbage, then good for you. But there are other restaurants within walking distance of this place that would give you better food, better service, and better atmosphere than this mess of a place. read more

It was bland and based on the crowd eating there, I can see why it has rave reviews. A certain demographic tends to like bland and mediocre food, and I won't say who, but if you want something flavorful that stands out, please go somewhere else. Texas menu and lots of happy families! I recall seeing Mia's next to Johnny Carrabas Original on Kirby but never ate at Mia as we love the Carabbas Original. I thought this might be Italian but no pasta on the menu. This is the almost the perfect Texas menu. Fried chicken, chicken fried steak, tacos, catfish, texas brews on tap, ice cream, and hamburgers. Everything w have had is great.... homemade battered fried chicken, catfish, greenbeans, black eye peas, mashed taters, gravy. I love the family vibe. Lots of happy families enjoying great food and family time. Solid value as our family made it out with full bellies, great fried chicken leftovers and ice cream for $58. read more

Wonderful! A delicious spot for comfort food in a welcome setting. The menu offers a classy twist on old-fashioned American plates, with familiar items like meat loaf and chicken fried steak. The banana pudding is some of the best I've had - generous layers of banana slices & cookies with rich, velvety custard. There are different flavors of lemonades to enjoy, or try a DIY hack my pouring root beer from the fountain on top of (complimentary) soft serve you can help yourself to at the machines. The restaurant feels like a modern spin to "vintage diner meets farmhouse kitchen" - simple, clean, open, and charming. Order at the counter by the entrance and take a seat at one of the many tables & booths. Or, place an order to go. Either way, service is quick & attentive. Food is fresh and served up fast. We always stop here when I have to go to Md Anderson. The food is delicious and pretty quick. Everyone is very helpful, place is clean. Last time we went i had the grilled shrimp salad and hubby had the tacos. Both as always delicious!! I don't think you can wrong with any of their food here. Enjoy free ice cream too! read more

This was my first visit to a Mia's table and I didn't think much of it. The food was served amazingly fast, the prices were reasonable and it's a great place for the family because of the great American selection of food. I had the chicken sandwich but had them put the buffalo sauce on the side, but I added bbq sauce and this sandwich was great. The difference with their chicken sandwich is that it's chicken fried chicken on a toasted bun, this was a new adventure for me. My only drawback was the cold sweet potato fries I plan to come back and try out the other options read more

Everything about this place was really good. The Mac and cheese and homemade mashed potatoes were very tasty as well. The country fried steak was tender and full of flavor. Perfect ratio of breading to meat. It is a bit pricey. Paid $25 for the meal. read more

Our new favorite spot after church on Sunday! The service is good and the food is even better. You walk right in, order at the counter and then seat yourself. They'll bring food to you. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries and a cheeseburger with regular fries. Both plates were full and delicious. The pulled pork was just the right amount of rub/sauce. Good restaurant. Can get busy but good is consistent. Good portions. Never have had a bad meal. You can eat pretty healthy or go for the heart killer stuff. This is an order at counter and seat yourself place and get your drink. The cashier took our order however friends who were with us had their order taken by a different cashier who gave them different options than ours did, even though we had order the same meal. We had the chicken fried steak with jalapeño gravy which was delicious the green beans and sweet potatoes fries were just ok. My daughter had fries and she liked them. Our friends also liked the chicken friend steak and our friend said the fish plate was good. We decided to sit in the back room for more privacy as no one was sitting there. Our kids played quietly and we got to have a kind of double date with friends which was nice. A child was screaming his face off near our table not upset from what we would tell just liked to scream, with no reaction from onlooking family with him that was a bit nerve racking. The man who delivered our food was nice and the man who bused the table was pleasant also. This place was a little on the pricey side, but the food was great! We had Fried pickles, honestly, the best ones I've ever had! Perfect thickness and perfect amount of breading. And the ranch was good. For dinner, I had beef street tacos, great flavor, pretty spicy. I really enjoyed them. Chips and queso was nothing special. Every one in my immediate family loves Mia's Table. Their diverse menu allows everyone in my family to find something they like. My favorite is Aunt Bessie's Taco Salad. My husband loves the chicken tenders, Other family favorites are Aung Bessie's Tortilla Soup, the chicken fried steak, the street tacos, and the onion rings. This was my third business trip to Shenandoah and my third trip to Mia's Table on 24SEP2023. I usually get the chicken fried chicken, but I had the salmon with coleslaw, potato salad, and a side salad. The salmon was grilled perfectly and it fell apart with my fork. The slaw had vinegar for tanginess. The black eyed peas were as good as always. I had so much food that I saved the salad for Monday lunch. I got two peanut butter cookies and they were a treat for Monday. At the office where I worked, they had Mia's Table for lunch on 25SEP2023, so I got to eat chicken fried steak, green beans, mashed potatoes, and a chocolate chip cookie. Pleasant experience for lunch today. In fact, my wife and I are happy to say we finally found a spot that understands us Texans and our love for real chicken fried steak! Mia's Table on I-45 in Shenandoah, has mastered the technique of creating the perfect combination of size, crispy crust, creamy jalapeño gravy, various sides (and we tried 'em all) that would make a Texas grandma proud. So tender you could cut it with a fork! I always hesitate to try this Lone Star staple because so many times gristle ruins it but no such thing here. Tender and yummy will win you over. I couldn't decide between the grilled pork or the chicken on presentation. I eventually decided the healthier alternative and absolutely loved my decision. The pork was so juicy and flavorful! The sweet potato fries were cripsy-ish. And the greens were very salty. I didn't care for the banana pudding or cookie that I paid for. Instead, the free ice cream was a nice touch. Maybe it's the thought of it being free that made it taste better? My eating buddies enjoyed their meals and didn't leave a single crumb either.
