This is an order at counter and seat yourself place and get your drink. The cashier took our order however friends who were with us had their order taken by a different cashier who gave them different options than ours did, even though we had order the same meal. We had the chicken fried steak with jalapeño gravy which was delicious the green beans and sweet potatoes fries were just ok. My daughter had fries and she liked them. Our friends also liked the chicken friend steak and our friend said the fish plate was good. We decided to sit in the back room for more privacy as no one was sitting there. Our kids played quietly and we got to have a kind of double date with friends which was nice. A child was screaming his face off near our table not upset from what we would tell just liked to scream, with no reaction from onlooking family with him that was a bit nerve racking. The man who delivered our food was nice and the man who bused the table was pleasant also. Every one in my immediate family loves Mia's Table. Their diverse menu allows everyone in my family to find something they like. My favorite is Aunt Bessie's Taco Salad. My husband loves the chicken tenders, Other family favorites are Aung Bessie's Tortilla Soup, the chicken fried steak, the street tacos, and the onion rings. This was my third business trip to Shenandoah and my third trip to Mia's Table on 24SEP2023. I usually get the chicken fried chicken, but I had the salmon with coleslaw, potato salad, and a side salad. The salmon was grilled perfectly and it fell apart with my fork. The slaw had vinegar for tanginess. The black eyed peas were as good as always. I had so much food that I saved the salad for Monday lunch. I got two peanut butter cookies and they were a treat for Monday. At the office where I worked, they had Mia's Table for lunch on 25SEP2023, so I got to eat chicken fried steak, green beans, mashed potatoes, and a chocolate chip cookie. Pleasant experience for lunch today. In fact, my wife and I are happy to say we finally found a spot that understands us Texans and our love for real chicken fried steak! Mia's Table on I-45 in Shenandoah, has mastered the technique of creating the perfect combination of size, crispy crust, creamy jalapeño gravy, various sides (and we tried 'em all) that would make a Texas grandma proud. So tender you could cut it with a fork! I always hesitate to try this Lone Star staple because so many times gristle ruins it but no such thing here. Tender and yummy will win you over. I couldn't decide between the grilled pork or the chicken on presentation. I eventually decided the healthier alternative and absolutely loved my decision. The pork was so juicy and flavorful! The sweet potato fries were cripsy-ish. And the greens were very salty. I didn't care for the banana pudding or cookie that I paid for. Instead, the free ice cream was a nice touch. Maybe it's the thought of it being free that made it taste better? My eating buddies enjoyed their meals and didn't leave a single crumb either. Nuggets resembles chick fil a but taste better The grilled pork chops were perfectly seasoned and tender 2 chops with 2 sides great char I added nothing to the seasoning and I usually always need to. The black eyes tasted like I cooked them so I really enjoyed it. The coleslaw was dressed with a creamy dressing with good seasoning. Could have a little bit of a tangy but was really good. My Gf loved her patty melt fresh with pepper jack cheese it was a really good burger I got a ala carte snapper taco and it didn't disappoint there was a perfectly cooked grilled snapper with cabbage and a tangy salsa. Why 4 stars? Because Mia's is definitely a solid option. --- --- --- I've now been to a couple different Mia's Table locations and really dig what they are doing. It seems like they are pretty rapidly expanding, so I just hope they don't experience the typical pitfalls of restaurant expansion, which usually consists of a loss of quality. Granted, I never ate at Mia's when there was only one location, but I've enjoyed both visits so far. This time, I ordered the BBQ Bacon Burger, which I really enjoyed. It had a pretty heavy BBQ flavor, which I dug. The fries were just okay. They came across as the pretty generic, previously frozen type from Sysco. I'd prefer a thinner fry with more seasoning piled on. I will never stop loving the presence of Dr. Pepper and Blue Bell ice cream - two Texas staples. And my wife's cookies and cream shake was absolutely amazing. I will not miss out on ordering one for myself next time. I had just opted for a couple trips to the free, soft serve ice cream machine, which is always appreciated, but that shake was on another level. read more

This was my first visit and until I arrived, I was not aware this was an "order at the counter, get your own drink" type of place. All of that is fine but when you pay, they offer a gratuity in amounts of 15% and up. Yes you can decline or make a custom amount but the fact that there is no server serving you - just someone punching in your order to a screen and the only "server" is a food runner to bring your order to the table. Otherwise I'm my own server and that shouldn't merit the ask of 15% or more gratuity. My meal was $25 before tip. Generous portion, though one of my sides was luke warm at best. And again, no server to follow up and make sure all came out well. There are other things on the menu I'd like to try but not yet sure if I will. They're a bit pricey for the "service" aspect and the gratuity just really was off putting to me. read more

I don't live close by but my hair stylist is across the street. I'm so glad we were hungry after a day at the salon because this place is amazing. I'm just upset I don't have you guys near me in cypress. We had chicken fried steak and shrimp and catfish. Even the sides were ridiculously good. Your mashed potatoes taste like mine at home. Jalapeño gravy is perfectly spicy, not much spice but enough to know it's there with the flavor of jalapeños not overpowering the gravy. Just perfect! The steak melt it your mouth! I took half of it home and ate it later with only a fork! No knife needed. My mom had the shrimp and catfish with onion rings and fries. All of it was the best I've tried in a long time.
