They have a lot of other things on the menu, but I've just had the elote which I love. Most recently I had the flaming elote which was tasty, and the mrs preferred it to hers. They were serving champurrado and arroz con leche earlier in the day because it was cold, but they let us know they sold out quickly. The lady taking our order was very nice too! This is probably our go to spot when in the area, in an area with lots of other options.

Yes I, definitely recommend this place!!!!!!!…read more This is one of the best taco stand places I have been too. The service the ladies provide here is by far the best service . The ambience is great , it's not too noisy. I have tried just about everything in the menu and I have to say that everything the ladies serve here is so delicious. In regards to the sauces , the red sauce is spicy but so good , I mean if you like spicy sauce you will definitely like this one . The green sauce has an amazing flavor as well, it's the best green sauce that I have had . Try this place out , I guarantee you that you will not be disappointed. Keep in mind that if you ask for extra sauces there is a slight charge ... nothing different than asking for extra items at any other restaurant, you know I am right. But you know what I don't mind the extra charge because it's worth it .

Also she got my order wrong. I ordered a bacon egg and potato, and a potato egg and cheese. Somehow she swap one of the tacos for chorizo. The tacos are pretty good. If I was in the area I would probably stop again and try some of the lunch tacos. Maybe the beef or the Barbacoa are much better. The green sauces were decent. You get quite a bit of food per taco. 2 to 3 tacos will definitely fill you up. Service was OK, they are very fast. So if you were hungry or in a rush your food will come out quick. I guess I could say they're probably close to a four-star maybe. If the lady was a little bit nicer I would've probably give them four stars. Also if they would've messed up my order they probably would've got four stars. I will give them another chance

So taco trucks generally lose a star with me right off. Let's face it, the ambiance at these trucks…read moreis not generally a five star affair. So why do I go? For the tacos of course! I guess I've also been inspired by Jarro Cafe's story. A taco truck whose tacos were so good they now have a restaurant behind it in addition to their truck. I'm hoping to find that diamond in the rough that can eventually add to that idea of the American Dream. A little complicated perhaps, but what can I say--I love fairy tales and narratives that movies are made of. A digression! I understand. Tía Maria folks. A seasoned veteran in Houston's abundant taco industry. I can't say how long they've been at this location in front a Food Town, but I know it's been at least 10 years. They must be doing something right? Wrong. They're just tacos. Nothing wrong with that, but why would I want to get mediocre tacos from a truck if they're just mediocre? Here's the skinny. Tía Maria serves up three types of meat only--so it made ordering easy. Chicarron--ah, what a massacred thing this Tía Maria taco is! It's gooey and just not very good. A soupy, atrocious affair. The Carne Asada has very little happening with seasoning. It's also a little on the dry side, but o.k. Edible. The al pastor is equally uncomplicated. I can certainly see why a place like El Jarro has a restaurant behind it's truck and Tía Maria remains pretty much unchanged. On to the next truck!

Trash!!!!! I don't…read moreeven know where to start. Saw a review on TikTok about this restaurant. We usually go to Mikey's or Thisisit! Both amazing places btw but we decided to try something a little closer. The Location was hard to find with the black out windows and plastic banner outside. When you get inside the food in the pans were scarce and employees has no intentions on being out more. The chafers had no lid coverings for the food. We ordered turkey necks collards and yams with side of Mac n cheese Turkey wing with dressing and yams with side of Mac n cheese A kids chicken wings rice and Mac n cheese (they do not have tenders even though it's on the menu) Strawberry cake Peach cobbler Total was 78.43 Oh and was not made aware that we had to wait 25 mins for the peach cobbler. Now once the food made it home we warmed it up bc it was a 15 mins drive home. The turkey necks definitely wasn't cleaned before being cooked they had an awful taste to them. I removed them from the bed of rice and the sauce from the turkey necks had the rice tasting the same. SMH Mac and cheese was disgusting! I can't believe people actually enjoy cream of chicken in their Mac n cheese! Collards and yams were the only things that were pleasant enough to eat IMO. The chicken wings from the kids order were rubbery and slightly pink inside. My son didn't eat anything from his plate. The turkey wings were fatty and lacked seasoning, still had the taste like the turkey necks as if they were not cleaned properly before cooking. Stuffing was dry and this could be due to no lids covering food. Food workers did not have gloves on for hair nets. Update: I called the restaurant to speak to Tracy the manager and was told there had not been any complaints that day regarding the food! Were asked questions like did we still have the food? How was the customer service but no solution to the problem. I even offered to bring the food back in order to receive a refund. She told me that I couldn't receive a refund but they would make another plate for us. My question is: if I didn't enjoy how the food tastes what makes you think I want another plate of food?? I informed her that I would reach out to my bank and file a dispute which I is what I did. Horrible FOOD HORRIBLE SERVICE HORRIBLE OWNER. 0 out of 10!

Food: they have quite extensive menu and I wasn't sure what to get but when I saw beef tips on the menu, that's what I had to go with. The beef tips over white rice were extremely flavorful and simply amazing. I love the fact that you can get spaghetti as a side. How cool is that. Also the mac & cheese was so cheesy and full of flavor. The cornbread was simply amazing. It was like a mini cake. I could've eaten two or three slices of that cornbread with no problem. The customer service is great. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by friendly, nice people that work there. Everyone is welcoming and will help you with the menu and everything like that. The portion size is unreal. Seriously, two or three people can eat off of one plate. No doubt about it you can seriously come in with two people minimum and share one plate. Possibly3. I felt like I walked out with 3 pounds of food. They definitely don't skimp on portion sizes here which is amazing. I really like the inside seating area. The decor is great and they have tables everywhere. Next time I'm craving some good soul food. I'll definitely stop on by.
