Yummy Pho & Grill - Vegetarian Tofu Pho!

Yummy Pho & Grill

The name of the place is indeed accurate…read more My good friend Yelp led me to this place. I cannot make up my mind so I ordered the Bo Ne as well as a small bowl of pho. There was nothing small about it though. Both dishes were delicious, but the pho is my favorite. It was flavorful and remained hot the entire time. The Bo ne was also great, but I will admit I was already full when I tried to work on my way through the plate. The staff was very friendly, and the food came out in a decent amount of time. The restaurant also seemed pretty empty on a Saturday early evening. I can't wait to go back and try more options at this restaurant!

The weather warmed up so it wasn't the day for pho. The service was good. Although it was good news to have yet another Vietnamese place, I felt the dishes ordered were mediocre. Although the pork was flavorful, it was thin, stringy, chewy and unlike the juicy chargrilled pork we were used to. The noodles tasted fine but lacked a crunch. It just didn't hit the spot. It tasted fine and if you haven't had this dish before, you may perhaps like it quite a lot. However, I really liked the generous quantity of shrimp in my grilled shrimp Vermicelli. I was able to share the shrimp as there were so many. It's high protein. The shrimp was nicely peeled, crunchy, sauteed and slightly better quality than many Vietnamese restaurants. I don't recommend the soft shrimp spring rolls; Although I liked the standalone shrimp without the typical boiled pork slices, the sauce wasn't the peanut sauce but hoisin sauce. The ambiance was good and relaxing. Restrooms were average. There was a wash sink outside so you could wash hands without using the restrooms. After reading the reviews, I was hoping to like this more.

The main thing that grabbed me was they actually let you finish your appetizer before sending out the food or whatever you ordered and in this case which was the Pho. After finishing our crispy tofu within a minute or two the soup came out with steam running upside the bowls. My friend who has eaten Vietnamese food for most of his life enjoyed the Pho so that this is the first time I ever remember him commenting on anything Vietnamese. Your restaurant pretty much is cleaned and well staffed for this 18th today of April Saturday 2026. The menu is still extensive from what I remember from last time which is a good thing the only thing I didn't like was I took off the banh xao :( I would say parking is ample considering it's a corner cap sharing the strip with other businesses. It's right in front of the Home Depot if you need a landmark.

The restaurant is small and there is never a lunch rush but I would think it would have more because of the prices and how it feels like my mom made me a bowl of food. In the past I've had the bun bo hue and this meal I had the Bo kho. It tastes like what I would get in Vietnam or from Alief area. If you need authentic Vietnamese in the NW area definitely give Kim's a visit! My friend had the lunch vermicelli bowl and he said it's the best in the area. The lady that served us ran the entire front of the restaurant from serving, register, and bussing. Give it a try. You won't regret it. It's small and also decorated with hand paintings to showcase the culture of Vietnam as well.

I waited for about 15 minutes and my order came out except for my avocado smoothie. I had to tell them twice I did not get my smoothie. I had to wait for lady to make it and it was the worst smoothie I have ever had. I mean EVER! It tasted like a piece of cardboard. Even my husband would not drink it. The grilled pork was not good either. It was paper thin and had no flavor. No char-grilled marks like before. The vegetables on my vermicelli dish were like a dirty sock. I did not eat them. I ended up throwing most of my order in the trash. As I was waiting I noticed 2 tables towards the restroom that had so much "junk" on them. I began to worry about my dinner choice. (See photo) If this is what they have in the dining area I DON'T want to imagine areas that I cannot see. (I should have listened to my "little" voice and cancelled my order and left) Sad to say after eating at Kim Pho Grill for years and years; I will NOT be returning here.

I was happy to get a booth dining alone. There were a few customers there but it was not super busy. It was a clean and calm environment. I ordered the spring rolls and beef Pho. The spring tops were fresh and crispy just the way I like it. Although it was fried it wasn't greasy. My large Pho came out and it had nice flavor on its own. I asked for some chilli oil and the waitress promptly bought some out. My eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach because I had to take more than half to go. It's a win for me because I love left over Pho! I will say my entire dining experience was excellent. The price aligned with the quality food and service. I will definitely be back.

I'm always on the hunt to try new Vietnamese spots and sometimes have to travel to The Woodlands…read morefor work and thought that I would give Pho Viet Tastes a try due to high ratings on Yelp. Searching for a banh mi sandwich with tofu for a quick lunch takeout, I was pleased to see that the restaurant was close to interstate 45 for a quick stop on the way back to Houston (timing is everything to beat the traffic in this area - IYKYK). I ended up ordering both the tofu vermicelli and a tofu banh mi because obviously, you need to try more than one thing. It was fine. Out of the two dishes, the vermicelli was my favorite. It came with a generous portion of noodles, a small lettuce and shredded carrot salad, several large wedges of tofu in a kind of curry sauce, and the classic vermicelli sauce to drizzle over the whole dish. The flavor was good, although what I would consider a slight deviation from traditional flavors, and overall filling. Vermicelli is always a dependable choice and I was satisfied with this dish. The tofu banh mi, however was nothing special. I prefer the bread to be a bit more crispy on the outside with a soft interior and this one was fairly soft all over. Inside, the tofu really needed more seasoning, seemingly cooked without any added flavors except for the fried finish. I added some hoisin sauce but still it needed something more. I'm always eager to try new places but not sure that this one will be a repeat for me.
