I should've ordered the ramen, I should've ordered the ramen. I should've ordered the ramen. Instead I came in blind to ensure I did not commit the cardinal sin of grocery shopping next door while hungry. I proceeded to enjoy a very strong whiskey flight (which means a lot coming from me), a seaweed salad that was a bit too crunchy or stiff, ikrua don, crab croquette and some admittedly super sticky, gummy, shrimp dumplings...like would not separate from the steamer paper sticky. While the offerings were not my cup of tea, the place is beautifully decorated and seems to fill up around dinner service so it may be worth the stop if you're in the area. Everyone was very nice and I always appreciate a spot offering jellyfish, takowasa, and takoyaki in Cypress. Next time I'll try the ramen, and hopefully report back with a new perspective, fingers crossed. read more

I did enjoy my Hibachi Chicken but I couldn't finish it. I felt like I didn't eat much of it. I will say I was more attentive to talking with my friend instead of eating lol I did take my food home and my husband had my leftovers. My friend ordered the Hibachi steak with white rice and veggies. She enjoyed her meal. The service was great and the atmosphere is wonderful with different table and booth options. We came to Iza for lunch. I ordered the shrimp tempura and the gyoza to start. The tempura had a little too much batter and not enough shrimp but the spicy mayo it was served with was really good. Was at the ER for 6 hours and my daughter and I were getting hungry. She drove down to bring some ramen and it just hit right on the spot. I was coming out of food poisoning and was scared to eat anything greasy. I ordered the ramen with chicken broth and skewered chicken and was very delicious. The food stayed in my belly. Had a taste for some ramen after a long day and we always like to try a new place, so we gave them a try based on their ratings. We walked in before 5:00pm today and it wasn't too busy and was greeted by a nice young lady and seated immediately. Good start. However when the server (Hai) stopped by, we said hello it's our fist time here and he didn't reply back so we literately said the same thing to him a second time and all we got from him was "Okay." Then he asked for our drink order and we knew this guy didn't care about us one bit spending our hard earned money, so we simply went ahead and ordered the spicy miso for my wife and I had the tonkasu with two extra eggs for me. They brought us a small complimentary salad which was nice and the ramen was good, not really good or great, but good. The ingredients were of high quality and prepared well, but the broth wasn't as good as other places. But I would rate the food a solid 4 out of 5. The service was very "transactional" that lacked the warmth and energy other service professionals have given us. If a couple tells you it's their first time visiting, a server should at least fake a smile and pretend to be happy that they're sitting at their place of business. Not Hai, it was strictly transactional and we clearly could tell he couldn't care one way or another about a customer. So the service is a very sad 2 out of 5, thus this beautifully decorated little restaurant earned only 3 stars from us and we will not be making a return visit. read more

My friends and I came in on a Tuesday night and were seated right away - there's plenty of space for seating and a couple sections for large groups. I really like the interior especially since they had it decked out for Halloween. My friend and I ordered the Baby Octopus and Chicken Thigh for starters. The baby octopus was great- sweet and savory with some sliced cucumber on the side. As for the chicken thigh, you can definitely skip this one. When we were ordering this, we had an option for the type of seasoning so we chose 'asian spice'. Honestly, it's just seasoning sprinkled on top of a skinny skewer of plain meat so this one isn't worth getting. As for the ramen, we all ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen. One thing I recognized right off the bat was how lukewarm the ramen was. I personally like my soup dishes warm/hot especially now that it's getting colder. The eggs were okay but didn't have as much umami flavor from the marinade as I thought. The noodles were fine but the broth was just okay. It's not bad but I definitely had others that were richer in flavor. Ultimately, the chashu took the show away- very tender, flavorful, and rich (yum)! Other than that, the service was great! Came here tonight for a late dinner after a day of travel. Everything was amazing from the food to the service they knocked it out the park. They have a rather large menu and I only posted portions of it. The ramen was great! Lots of flavor! Ordered soup dumplings and they did not disappoint. We got a couple of side salads and the dressing was great. I would defn come back to this neighborhood gem. Located by the Whole Foods off of Louetta and Cutten. Lots of parking. I have driven by here several times and decided to try a new ramen place out with my husband. The menu is quite large here, so after looking over it, we decided on the beef bao, whole grilled squid, spicy chicken ramen, and gyoza. The bao and gyoza came out first. I'm allergic to pork so I did not try the gyoza but my husband really enjoyed them and said they were some of the best he has had. The beef bao were good, we really enjoyed the sauce on it. The whole squid looked good but after eating some of it you could tell it was previously frozen from its texture and very overcooked . It was like eating a rubber band. Parts of it were also a little too charred so you really couldn't enjoy the whole squid. The chicken ramen was also a disappointment. The ramen was bland but had a weird smoky flavor. I had to repost. I can't get enough of this restaurant. The food is always fresh and amazing and no they have an extensive Japanese whiskey selection. I am more of a hot sake person which they do have, but if you are a whiskey connoisseur, you will be thrilled at the selection. This has become my go-to restaurant for Japanese food and drinks. The atmosphere is very quiet, very "Japanese" looking layout and decorations. The service is excellent. They are all very professional and friendly at the same time. And, the most important aspect, the food is excellent. They have quite a large selection of food that I have not seen somewhere else. Our server was really sweet, it was towards the end of the night and we were her last table so we didn't get a name but. The chef came out to see if we liked everything as well which was a wonderful touch. Everything on it was fresh and it had potential with better quality meat. 3.5/5 Spicy beef ramen unlike the edamame this was super spicy, my mistake and I had to request extra broth to turn down the heat, but it was delicious. 5/5 And kudos for offering kids ramen bowls, my little usually gets her own adult bowl so she was mad, but she also didn't finish the entire kids bowl. Please be careful when ordering the stems buns or soup dumplings- ours were not cook and I am glad we looked at them before eating them. Excellent place for Japanese style food, which although having a lot of bao type "fast" sandwiches it also offers plenty of bowls and great rice/noodle dishes. We had pork katsu and shrimp katsu bowls and spent around $23 including taxes. The portions were pretty decent, you might not split it to take some home but you get a good healthy size meal. It was cooked perfectly, very fresh ingredients with a great flavor. The service was great, a very welcoming young quick crew all working together to be on top of details at all times. I liked the ambience, the space and specially the cleanliness. I will definitely go back to try more elaborate dishes. read more

I sat at the bar by myself waiting for someone to at least ask me my name and/or give me my order and despite telling the young girl that worked tonight that I was picking up a Togo order that was placed 30 minutes prior, she just replied yeah each time and continued to serve other customers. Meanwhile I watched my bag of food sit by the cash register while I could see her and another young guy reflection in the window play around while they were in between servicing 4 tables. It wasn't until I pulled him to side and asked for the fourth time about my order and he asked my name and then apologized and proceeded to bring me the bagged food that had been sitting next to cash register for 30 minutes.
