Been wanting to try this place for a while and glad I finally did. The fried dumplings were absolutely delicious. They were perfectly crispy and the insides were amazing. We really loved the peanut sauce and the meat was flavorful and good. Next time I want to try it in the vermicelli bowl instead though. The Pad Thai was a huge portion, so you are getting a lot out of it. We got it spicy and I thought it was a good level, but not as hot as the guy made it out to be (I have a high tolerance). The place itself is so modern and clean. I was super impressed with the decor and layout of the restaurant. The employees are nice and efficient. I think our order was done in about 10 minutes after ordering at the front. We got the beef fried rice, grilled pork sandwich, and unsweetened oolong tea with boba. All of which were super fresh and delicious. The fried rice was good and there was a lot of beef. The sandwich was stuffed with pork and vegetables, it was hefty! The boba tea was also really refreshing. The boba itself was not sweetened or coated in any sugar syrup and had great texture. The prices were also super reasonable: sandwich was $5, fried rice was $10, and boba tea was $5; give or take a couple of cents and tax as well. Their buns are great! I've never had partial boiled eggs in mine but it's good. The Massaman curry was okay. I had the chicken version but the spice and curry taste was too subtle. Like the ghost of massaman curry was there but I was left unfulfilled. They also have Teahouse drinks. And import drinks. I want to try more of their food but I won't get massaman curry again. I was *hoping* I had found my new massaman spot but I'll have to keep looking. They have spring rolls, stuffed crab pastry, and some desserts and jello things. I'll try more of the menu! read more

I awoke this morning with an odd craving for some Hot Tom Kha soup! So luckily I found a place that opened at 10am so I didn't have to wait to terribly long. Not only were they open early which made me ecstatic, but the Tom Kha is BOMB! I got the medium and it was plenty spicy so beware. They blended the sweetness with the spice and lemongrass perfectly. I feel betrayed by the reviews on this yelp page, I thought it was gonna be really good. I spent about $40 worth of food ready to have a delicious feast. But I was met with THE most bland food I've ever tasted in my 37 years of life!! Holy crap I had to write a review and express my disappointment. The service was friendly and nice but the food was wow... I didn't understand how it could literally taste like nothing yet have color to it like it's been cooked with sauces and spices. I kid you not it tasted like absolute nothingness. I verified this with my gf who tasted it as well. Unfortunately this was my first and last visit. And for future patrons,I could not in good conscience recommend this place. Hopefully it was just a one off mistake but since I'm visiting out of state I'll never get that chance. Oh my god. Mai Tai express is so good! It's literally right outside my family's neighborhood so this is my new spot whenever I'm in Houston. We ordered calamari, Tom yum fried rice and rock and roll beef. I really enjoyed the calamari because it's sprinkled with some delicious Thai seasoning. The stars of the show was definitely the drunken flat noodles and the pork belly bao, they were SOOOO GOOD ! I only gave them 4 stars bc the fried rice wasn't as soft as I would have liked, even though the flavors were AMAZING! & the banh mi sandwich was a little on the dry side, I ordered pate on mine so i wish they would have added a little more of it or a little more Vietnamese butter. I got a togo order here today and most of the food I got was really good. Te salt and pepper calamari was perfect! The seasoning and veggies with it were very tasty. My wife got the combination sandwich and liked it. She did expect it to have cold cut meat like a typical bánh mì đặc biệt but this one was chicken, bbq pork and beef. I got the bao and this was the only thing that wasn't good. The bao bread was not even cook and it was folded inside out. It was really hard to eat since the bao was not soft. Ok so after looking another store around this side of town and getting lost and driving with 2 hungry kids I came across this place... Well, let me just start off by saying this place is FIRRREEEEEE! Wasn't sure what to expect but I was excited to try it, my son and I ordered a Tom Yum soup with shrimp, some chicken satay which are my sons favorite. We also ordered a shrimp fried rice and finally a shrimp bahn mi. Everything was amazingly flavorful and came out fresh. That shrimp bahn mi was like on a whole other level, they also have a chili sauce that's like in oil and wow, put those two together and you got the most exquisite bahn mi ever! Best of all the guy who helped us was amazing, best customer service ever and treated me and my kids so kindly. Thank you for being super cool with us and serving our meal.
