Haven't had banh xeo in a while so this was a great spot to revisit a classic viet dish I used to have! I went during their soft opening and here's what I got: Shaking Beef - 8/10, meat well cooked, pretty standard beef stir fry, generous portion Tamarind Chicken Wings - 7/10, not a big fan of the tamarind flavor, chicken a little dry Banh Knot (mini crispy savory pancake) - 10/10, easy to eat, perfect crispiness on the edges, no notes! Banh Xeo Saigon (shrimp and pork crispy savory crepe) - 8.5/10, served with lettuce, herbs, pickled veg. This was a messy eat, but also delicious. The pork belly was a little dry and I wish there was a little bit more mung bean filled inside. Pho Suon & Duoi (pho beef rib and oxtail pho) - 7/10, oxtail was dry and cold. Pho was great though, so I'd get it without the oxtail next time. Com Suon (rice platter with pork) - 7.5/10, pretty small portion, barely any veggies to complement the rice dish. The pork had a good grilled flavor to it. Mi Xao don hai San (seafood stir fried noodles) - 7/10, think it's supposed to resemble Canto Style stir fried crispy noodles. These were not it. Good flavor though. Overall, great new spot in Spring Branch if you don't want to drive a distance to Chinatown!

Excellent banh xeo (Vietnamese crepes). Not many places have it, and it's nice to have a spot outside of the Viet side of Bellaire. They used to be at the Conservatory, which shut down so they finally re-opened around a month ago. The fiance really likes banh xeo, so we both ordered the banh xeo saigon, which was excellent. It's fried nicely, and they give plenty of aromatics. I still don't quite have the best way to eat it, so I kind eat it like a salad, though the fiance eats it like lettuce wraps. Choose your own adventure! Pricing I think is fair. Areas of improvement: 1) The back part of the restaurant had the AC blasting, which was a bit too uncomfortable, plus your food would get cold pretty quick. 2) We asked our server if we could move due to the AC, and he said we could move anywhere. Later, they were confused when they brought the food to the original table, and the same server seemed like he forgot he told us we could move. The parking is pretty tough, the lot isn't too large, so each spot is kinda tight. No real place for overflow traffic. They have signs all around the restaurant letting people know NOT to park in the plaza across the street, which will cause you to get towed. Would recommend going outside of the busiest hours, or carpooling if going in a group. We're a fan!

This is going to sound tacky but why is it that quite literally everything on the menu is priced except for your namesake, I will give an honest review when you were honest with your customers, the food that I had while I was there was very good, but the fact that you're surprised at the end by the price is unacceptable for this style restaurant, please be transparent

Friday night during their soft opening, Xeo Yum checks all the boxes. The interior is welcoming with greenery, light wood colors and plenty of light. The service is prompt and helpful. Food arrived quick and sometimes out of sequence - spring rolls arrived after entrees. I'll give a pass given the soft opening. I'm sure they will tidy that up. The food was fresh, great flavors and large portions. We clearly over ordered but we wanted to try everything. The Banh Xeo Saigon is what brought us here. My wife saw a preparation on TikTok Tok and found this place while scrolling. So glad for that. Bo Ne and Bo Luc Lac were stars as well. It's currently BYOB but I think they are getting a license given there's a bar area and martini glasses. On my way out, I passed a table with something I'm coming back for, a huge beef rib on a plate with a bowl of Pho. It's exciting to have this in Spring Branch even if the parking is super tight. Go! You won't be disappointed.

I loved their food when they were serving from the Conservatory in Midtown so couldn't wait to try this new location. One of the staff came to open the door for us when he noted one of us was on crutches-sweet! The space is open and tables are nicely spaced out. Service was attentive and prompt, food took no more than 5 minutes to start arriving. I really appreciate the fish sauce dipping prep provided at the table, so you can make it to your liking. We ordered: * Goi cuon thit nuong - well presented, served warm with perfect peanut sauce for pairing * Pho with rare beef, brisket, & tendon - broth is rich and flavorful with abundant meats. However, the noodles were soggy and already breaking when the bowl arrived. * Banh xeo Saigon - asked for no bean sprouts, perfectly crispy and served with an abundance of fresh veggies for wrapping. Lots of shrimp, pork belly, and sautéed onions stuffed inside - no complaints. * Vietnamese coffee and lychee iced tea ordered were forgotten until we reminded the server halfway through our meal. Both were good, expect the lychee tea to be in the very sweet side. Parking is tight here, arrived at 6 PM on Wednesday and there were only 3 parking spots left so plan to carpool if possible. By the time we headed out at 7 PM, the restaurant was full, no empty table. I can't wait to come back and try their many other dishes.

I'm so glad they reopened, we came during soft opening with everyone trying to give this place a try & not enough employees. Food: delicious! Banh Khot - crispy, coconut batter taste - need more scallion on top similar to those in Vung Tau, Vietnam Banh Xeo : cook perfectly crispy without feeling oily, topping with pork and shrimp inside felt like precooked & add on, a little overcooked esp the pork. We need more mint & correct type of veggies come with Banh Xeo like Rau xanh & other mints instead of lettuce wrap and Thai basil. Bo Ne - grilled beef skillet tastes great, condiment with pate and butter should have more bigger portion but overall is great. Salad and banh mi on the side is a plus. Service: friendly but seriously need more servers to accommodate the amount of customers esp during rush hour weekends. They're great, but cannot handle the amount of guests & we have to eye ball them down with hand raise to get serve. Food takes an hour to come out which is way too long. Spacious & decorate with a touch of Saigon street scene like Ben Thanh market mural. Tables with chairs pretty close by each other. Parking is a nightmare. Do not drive your big SUV as it's only 1 way in and out. You literally have to back out or good luck maneuvering. Not many parking space either so this can be inconvenient. However, overall we will definitely come back when they settle in, fully trained staff & possibly not on the weekends.

The food: Nem Nuong Cuon - 7/10 - Grilled Sausage rolls nem nuong sauce, one wish there was more sauce and sausage was ok. Tamarind Chicken Wings - 7/10 - not consistent drumettes were juicy but some of the flats were dry... flavor was good. Banh xeo saigon - 10/10 - crispy savory crepe Crepe was super crispy... stuffing had a good balance of shrimp, pork and sprouts Banh khot - 10/10 - mini crispy savory pancakes Little bundles of yum, tender shrimp and crispy pancake... good coconut flavor. Large pho - 8/10 - rare ribeye steak, meatball, tendon Broth was so good, meat was tender, meatball was tasty just wish the tendon was more tender. com ga nuong xa - 7/10- fried egg, egg loaf-cha trung, bun thit nuong - rice was on the dry side (broken rice would have been nice), meat needed more lemongrass, fried egg was just right and egg loaf was tasty just a bit too salty. The greeting was very attentive. Service was friendly just a little inconsistent especially when it got busy. This is a family friendly place. Went early because I was not sure what parking would be like. The spaces are definitely limited. BTW - The main door is furthest from the street.

Absolutely loved the banh khot - great presentation, easy to break apart to share, and perfect serving size. The tofu was also good, but I would have preferred it a little drier with a side of lime/salt/pepper to dip. I also like the dish with more veggies, specifically mushrooms, but that's just a preference. As for the Bo Ne, i've had better. The beef wasn't properly seared and wasn't very flavorful. I think some Maggi on top would've made it better The service was just okay. Coming in, we were immediately seated and given menus, but ordering and requesting additional things like a knife or napkins, was a bit of a struggle. The servers were definitely on the young side and inexperienced. All that being said, I would totally come back to check out other items. I also thought the decor was cute.

I am so thankful they opened somewhere else because it's the best in town. Period. Everything here is spectacular and made to perfection. I haven't found any bánh khot even remotely worthy around town and that I love as much. Can't wait to come back and hope everyone can make it here to support this place. Specifics: Parking-lots of space on the lot around and in front and large spaces too Service-everyone is super nice Food-spot on per usual. Got the spring rolls and banh khot. Side note: be patient during soft openings and newly opened in general as everyone is getting their bearings and that's the point of a soft opening Shoutout to Yelp Houston for having an event here when they were at Stetsi Food Hall so we could discover this deliciousness.

Since this was their soft opening, I hope things improve, but our overall experience was pretty lackluster. We ordered the Bo Ne and a Che 3 Mau without ice. The water came out with two dirty cups, which it seems like the cups may have been wiped down with towels instead of properly cleaned. The Che 3 Mau came out afterward in a plastic cup with a plastic spoon. I was hoping it would have more flavor, but it wasn't sweet enough for me, even without the ice. There were no utensils until the Bo Ne came out, and they only gave one set even though there were two of us. The Bo Ne took a bit to arrive and came on a huge skillet with a good amount of food. The sauce was flavorful and the bread was good, but the skillet didn't seem hot enough. The egg was a little overdone, and the meat was unevenly cooked, with some pieces still raw inside while others were well done. At $19.5, the Bo Ne is expensive compared to others, and it only came with one small container of mayo and pate, which wasn't enough for the amount of food. There were also no check-ins during the meal, and I noticed they cleaned the tables with Windex, which was a little off-putting. Hopefully they can work through these issues after the soft opening, but based on this visit, it missed the mark for us.

I am a bit disappointed. Came in for lunch with my mom this Sunday at 1:00pm. There was no parking so we parked across the street. It took us about 5ish minutes for us to be seated. We ordered fish sauce wings, banh khot, banh xeo and bo ne. The first to come out was banh khot, and that was pretty good. I liked the batter they used. However, we had to ask for plates and utensils after they brought the food out, which should've been already brought out without asking, prior to the food. Next was banh xeo, and I am not sure I liked the way it was made. It's not your traditional banh xeo; they fry the batter first then sandwich the toppings in the middle. Traditionally, the batter is what kinda holds the toppings together, but in this case, it wasn't and was messy to eat. The pork belly was a bit overcooked; usually, it's supposed to be a bit fattier. The bean sprouts were barely cooked. We have been here for about an hour, but only half of our food came out. When asking about the bo ne and the fish sauce wings, they told us that it'd be another 15-20 minutes. Unfortunately, at this point, we kinda lost our appetite due to the very long wait so we just cancelled the rest. I did enjoy their banh khot, so hopefully, they'll improve their service. (the extra star is for the banh khot) However, I'm not sure if I'd return. :(

This is located where Soju Bar used to be on Long Point. On a slow day, parking could be okay but at the time I went it was very limited. I came on Monday (6/22) for their soft opening at around 5:30PM. The ambiance and decor was nice, bright and colorful. Loved how open the restaurant now feels too. There were lots of tables and bad seating available too. The menu had a lot more than I was anticipating. My table ordered goi cuon, banh khot, banh xeo Saigon and bo ne. I also ordered the lychee tea and my aunt ordered the ca phe sua da. The banh xeo Saigon was supposed to have shrimp and pork inside, but ours didn't have any shrimp inside. I liked how the pork was a thinner slice, which made it crispier to eat. The bo ne was the better dish out of the two in my opinion. Well flavored and fresh. The appetizers (goi cuon and banh khot) are staples that you really can't mess up anywhere you go. The lychee tea and ca phe sua da were just ok. I know it's soft opening and the workers are still working out the way the restaurant operates and this time is for them to learn. While they were nice, service could definitely be improved. There were long delays in our orders and the ordering process with our server was a bit difficult. I think he was overwhelmed or moving a bit too fast. Overall everything came out fine though, but if you're coming during soft opening just be patient.

Xeoyum may only be in their soft opening phase, but they are already firing on all cylinders. Honestly, if I had to wait 20-30 minutes for a table, it would have been worth every single second. I thought it was that good. The banh xeo was absolute perfection. Just as insanely crispy on the outside as SM says... perfectly cooked inside, and served with a massive, vibrant spread of super fresh herbs. Ordered spring rolls and a cold, fresh coconut juice. On top of the outstanding food, the service was wonderfully attentive, friendly, and quick. Despite being in soft launch, everything came out seamlessly with zero delays. I'm already craving my next visit. Xeoyum is easily going to become a favorite spot. Do not sleep on this place!

Their bánh khọt was crispy, sweet and savory, and went well with the fish sauce. Although the portions initally look small, they are very filling. The bò né was filling and sizzling when it came out. It also came with a side of salad. The meat was tender. I really liked the bánh khọt and would definitely come back for them. I couldn't have been more wrong. Xeo Yum (#1) as it turns out is one of the most legit Vietnamese places in Midtown serving up some of the city's best banh xeo and banh khot. Located inside of a Food Hall (#2) in the back corner, they have low-key become a destination and without question, the most popular stall in the entire place. The fan base didn't happen overnight but is a direct result of Chef Cuong Nguyen's commitment to quality Vietnamese fare. Banh Xeo is their signature item, which is also known as a sizzling crepe or pancake made of rice flour, tumeric, and coconut milk. The banh xeo holds well, is perfectly crispy, and is nicely stuffed with an assortment of beans sprouts, shrimp, and some of the best grilled pork belly I've had. Another specialty item that doesn't get enough mention is their banh khot, which is similar but has a mini muffin / cupcake like appearance made in a specialty cast iron mold. This version is wonderfully crispy and pairs perfectly with fresh greens and fish sauce with some funk. It is my favorite item here. Some have argued they also serve one of the best bo ne (#3), the Vietnamese version of steak and eggs served in a skillet. The chunks of beef are nice and tender with just a tad of char, served with two fried eggs, and a banh mi baguette with a mix of butter and spare. Normally I think of spam or sausage included with the meats, but Chef Cuong's spin is with cherry tomatoes. It's a different approach and I'm not mad at it. Folks not looking for this can shoot for bo luc lac, aka shaking beef, which is also recommended. The staff here is sweet, hard-working, and very friendly. They also make a mean Vietnamese coffee and offer free iced self-serve water. The prices are what I would expect in a Midtown food hall, and there's plenty of seating. Anyone checking out the food hall need to make Xeo Yum as part of their eating itinerary. __________ (#1) A play on the Vietnamese sizzling crepe, Banh "xeo" and yum" (#2) Previously the Conservatory and now Stestí Food Hall. They had nice flavor, but there just wasn't anything "special." 3.5* Then it was on to the crawfish, and my oh my. Superb, the flavor is delicious and unique. This more than made up for the noodles dish. The potato and corn was good too. Service - 5* Solid. When I first arrived the owner was quietly reading a newspaper and eating his own lunch. He paused to greet me and advised that I could sit anywhere. He provided water and adequate time to determine what I wanted to order. The food came out quickly and he checked in a few times to make sure everything was ok. As time went by, the crowd of folks showing up increased quite a bit and he still managed to check in on tables consistently. Pricing - 4* This is where it was odd. Always subjective but I found the noodles to be overpriced for not only the size but what I felt was a pretty simple dish. The crawfish on the other hand was priced very competitively and made up for the overpriced noodles. I provided pics of the menu for someone to make their own assessment but in general I thought many of the dishes were pricier than they probably should be. The flavor is fantastic, the pricing is good, the size of them were solid. There are a couple of other dishes I may try on the next visit. The guy who answered the phone wasn't the friendliest, but I decided to roll the dice anyway, and I'm glad I did because the food was solid. We started with the egg rolls. At $10.95 for five pieces, I thought they were a little pricey. They came out piping hot and fresh from the fryer with a great crunch, and the fish sauce was delicious. My only complaint was the lettuce--they only gave us one piece. What am I supposed to do with one piece of lettuce? The Canh Chua Tôm had the perfect level of sourness, exactly how I like it. The shrimp were a little overcooked, but the medium-sized bowl was a generous portion. The Cá Kho Tộ was cooked perfectly. The sauce was rich and savory with a hint of sweetness, though I would've liked just a touch more salt. Pair it with a bowl of rice and some soup, and it's hard to beat. Overall, this place was solid. Is it better than my grandma's? Absolutely not--but that's a tough standard to live up to. It definitely satisfied the craving, and yes, I'd come back.

The place is almost always busy proving the quality of the food and the kind attentive service from the staff. When you enter, I usually just a spot and I'm quickly spotted by a waiter. They take the order quickly and the food comes out relatively quickly and hot. The staff even call out the classic phrase "Nước sôi!" when they bring a hot dish out of the kitchen. This phrase translates to boiling water, but they do this for patron safety. I've ordered the Cơm chiên gà xối mỡ which is fried rice with crispy chicken. The rice and chicken are cooked perfectly and the rice has crunch bits made for it. The chicken also has two dipping sauces that come with it. 5/5 taste We have also had the Bánh Khọt which comes as separate small pancake style foods stuffed with shrimp and batter with a side if fresh vegetables and fish sauce. 5/5 taste They also have some refreshing drinks and soft drinks as well. The menu extensive, so there's definitely something for everyone. While the price might seem a little high at first glance, but the portion are generous and many dishes are made to share. The Bun Mam was packed with abundance of fresh seafood and it came with great noodle portion, enough to split the bowl between the table. The Banh Khot was perfectly crispy on the outside, while staying light and delicate on the inside. It paired great with their house-made kumquat dipping sauce. It was a little sweet for liking, but diluting with some water balanced it out nicely. I had a great experience and left impressed by both dishes I've tried. I'll definitely will be back to explore more of their menu, especially their variety of snail dishes which looked incredibly delicious.

I loved the street vendor feel that hits you from the moment you walk up with the casual outdoor seating. However, the interior, with its regal decor and trendy feel was what caught my attention. Our waiter was very kind and took time to explain the items on the menu, and his recommendation of the egg coffee drink was perfect for what I was looking for! The egg rolls, skewers, fried rice and clams were all delicious. Everything was rich in flavor and unique compared to other Asian cuisines I had tried before. Can't wait to return to try the rest of the menu!

The food is consistently great, and the prices are reasonable, especially considering the wide range of seafood options. Service is always good, and the seating areas, inside and out, are very inviting. Definitely worth checking out!
