Annan was fabulous, super clean, tasty food, and reasonably priced. It has a quiet, low-key vibe that made the whole experience really relaxing. Definitely a spot I'd come back to again.

Annam does a great job of elevating tradional Viet cuisines while still keeping the authenticity. Located in the Autry park shopping plaza, you can park in the garage or valet is available. It was a short walk from the garage. I like the modern interiors and intimate booth seatings. Menu is very simple with a variety of traditional dishes with Vietnamese translations as well. We chose a few to share: - grilled wagyu wrapped betel leaves - imperial roll - pork jowl lettuce wrap - shaking fillet mignon - tofu king mushrooms clay pot I enjoyed everything we tried. My favorite was the fillet mignon and Wagyu wrapped in betel leaves. The meat melts in your mouth. We also got a bowl of rice on the side. It was a homey dinner but in an elevated scale. Staff were very friendly and service was quick. I would definitely come back to try more of their menu.

Delicious, yes. Portions kind of small. Prices kind of high. Excellent food quality and preparation. Familiar dishes were texturally superior to the average Vietnamese restaurant. Standouts: Ora king salmon clay pot Seared scallop mango salsa Imperial roll Very pretty space, full bar, valet or garage parking (discounted garage with validation). Worth going back on occasion.

Wow! This place truly exceeded my expectations. I don't typically gravitate towards Vietnamese food.. it's just not something I typically "love." But, I loved everything! Very clean food and lots of flavor! The server Lexi was awesome, very attentive and gave us good recommendations. My owner checked on us multiple times as well - super sweet guy. I will 1000% be back! Ambiance is gorgeous and very quiet.. we thought it was empty when we sat at the bar but when we sat down.. it turned out the restaurant was actually pretty full. The walls block a lot of noise.

I'll be honest--I was really skeptical about this place. With the abundance of amazing Vietnamese food Houston has to offer, I wasn't sure why I'd choose an "elevated" Vietnamese restaurant. But my wife really wanted to try it, and after seeing it included in the Michelin Guide's recommendations, I figured... why not? The restaurant is located in Autry Park--an upscale part of Houston--and it definitely fits the vibe. The space is cute and stylish with thoughtful decor, fun furniture details, and a nice alcohol wall that adds to the atmosphere. We had reservations and were seated right away. Our server, Hung, was incredibly friendly and made the experience even better. We started with the Lobster Asparagus Soup, which was delicious--light, fresh, and comforting. The wagyu betel leaf was another standout: tender, flavorful beef, and the sauce really brought everything together. For mains, we ordered the shaking beef and the claypot Ora King salmon. The bò lúc lắc was honestly one of the best I've had in terms of ingredient quality--the beef was so tender I could probably eat it without teeth. The salmon was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. Sure, I know you can find similar dishes elsewhere for a fraction of the price, but it's hard not to appreciate the quality and execution here. To finish, we had the pandan coconut mousse cake, which was the perfect ending--not overly sweet and really well balanced. Overall, it was a great experience, and I can absolutely see why this spot made it into the Michelin Guide.

Okay - to start off, I have to say that there was not one dish I didn't like at Annam. Everything was so tasty, and the staff was so accommodating. We had a few dietary restrictions (nut allergies, eggplant allergies, no pork, and spicy intolerance for some of our folks), and our waitress was so kind as to fully go through the menu with us. The kitchen was also so kind to make a couple modifications to some dishes so that we would be able to enjoy them. The interior is also so beautiful and so tastefully decorated that it truly elevates the experience. This is what I expect from fine dining! For the food, we just had so many options we needed to try! We started out with the small plates: annam chicken wings, fried stuffed squash blossom, king salmon crudo, grilled prawn mango salad, and the lemongrass lamb chop. All were good. My favorite was probably the king salmon crudo followed by the lemongrass lamb chop and the annam chicken wings. While the fried stuffed squash blossom and grilled prawn mango salad were good too, it just wasn't as great/a little plain to me and probably not worth ordering again. But still tasty if those are your go-tos. For large plates/vegetarian dishes, we ordered the lemongrass tofu, the ora king salmon clay pot, the shaking filet mignon, and the free range chicken curry. Hands down the best dish was the shaking filet mignon. It was so tasty and definitely the star of the show. I also really loved the lemongrass tofu, very refreshing and light, and the ora king salmon clay pot, very savory, but the free range chicken curry was just okay to me. We did ask for a modification to remove the thai chili (for my grandma who dislikes spicy food), so maybe if it came as it was I would have enjoyed it better, but I just still think the other dishes were worth more. We opted out of dessert this time - but wow. What a great experience. Definitely give Annam a try!

The attention in detail with how the restaurant interior looks to the food is soo amazing. Very amazing place. Prior to being seated, you enter the restaurant doors to a very modern front bar area. The drinks were amazing and it's only just the beginning to your culinary journey. Chef Kaytee is magical with her magic hands as dish after dish came out, with splendid flavors. Don't take my word for it but look at the food pics. The staff that waited on was impeccable. Houston, you have a winner!

Came in on a wed night with reservation and seated immediately with reservation. Dress code: smart casual. I came in fairly dressed up and plenty people in more casual outfits although no athletic wear Food 4/5: we ordered the wagyu lettuce wrap, the pork wrap for apps and the chicken curry and salmon fish head for mains. Food was well made, my personal favorites were actually the wraps. Fish head was a bit too fatty for me. The curry was pretty good Service 4.5/5: great service, very quick, response and helpful with recommendations. Had some difficulty hearing him, fairly soft spoken Ambiance 4.5/5: beautiful ambiance, high ceilings, elegant seating with booths being in their own little alcoves Value 4/5: fairly good value within reasonable pricing for fairly premium ingredients Overall 4.2/5: good food with great ambiance and service. If you dine for the experience, this is a pretty good place for you Parking is a pain in this area. Valet parking and garage parking with validation for 5 dollars

Pork jowl lettuce wrap ($9 each)

Annam is definitely one of the fanciest Vietnamese restaurants I've visited. It's ornately decorated, and the service was refined and friendly. The food was tasty and high quality, but with so many good Vietnamese restaurants in Houston, one is definitely paying for the ambiance and service. We had a couple of hiccups that made this a lower rating, especially for the expectations of a high caliber restaurant. For food: ** Pork jowl lettuce wrap: 1 piece per order, but if you just wanted to nibble for a taste, this could be shared as a 2 bites. Nice charcoal grilled flavor, but the pork was too fatty for me (MT loved it though!). The crisp clean taste of the veggies definitely helped with the fattiness. Nice to try~ ** Scallop with mango salsa: the scallop was nicely cooked and tender! The seared crust was definitely quite salty, but the salsa part helped cut the saltiness. Was a little wary of mango in this dish, but it was overall more of a sweet onion flavor. Would get again if it was less salty. ** Shaking filet mignon: beautifully presented with lots of greens. The meat was tender and just the right amount of chew, and it was elevated with the fresh lemon salt and pepper sauce. Small portion but big on taste, really enjoyed that one! ** Claypot king salmon: arrived and stayed piping hot in the claypot. This one is for salmon lovers-- the nuggets were so tender and melt in your mouth. I enjoyed the green onion and flavor the herbs added, but it was definitely on the salty side. There are pork cracklings with a fun "poofy" texture and burst of taste. I even learned what a fresh peppercorn bunch looks like! Definitely needed some rice (separate extra charge). The rice was warm and a delicate fluffy texture, yum! For service: Our waiter was polite and a bit quiet (not the most warm personality). He asked if we had any allergies to start, and we requested no cilantro in the dishes. And yet the dishes came with cilantro. We didn't say anything, but why did the waiter even ask? He also forgot the extra rice we ordered, and we were already halfway through with our entrees when it arrived. In contrast, the manager (?) was really friendly and stopped by each table to check in and chat. The staff ensured our waters were always filled to the top. To wrap it up, the host validated our parking before we walked out, but, the validation didn't work at the garage exit. So we ended up paying for parking. Overall, food was tasty-- a little too salty for me but probably flavorful and enjoyable to most. The fancy decor and comfortable booth seating gives one a calm relaxing space to enjoy some high quality fare. I wouldn't come back again because of the number of mishaps for such a nice restaurant (and for the price we paid), but it was nice to try.

I was excited to try out this new-ish spot after seeing them receive a bib gourmand. We had a 7:30 reservation for Saturday night and upon arrival they said that our table would be ready shortly and asked for us to wait at the bar. Well we waited, and waited, and waited. We asked the hostess and manager several times when our table would be ready to which they replied, "I don't know, we have several tables that should be getting up any minute". Meanwhile our drinks at the bar took a good 20 minutes to prepare. We were finally seated shortly after 8pm, which, if I wanted to eat at 8pm I would have made a reservation for 8pm. Once we were seated no one came to the table to take our order or give us water for almost 15 minutes until we got up to speak to the manager again. We let them know that we had a party that we needed to get to so we would like to place our order as quickly as possible. When our first course came out we ordered a second round of drinks and they let us know that the bar was very backed up but they would like to send us a complimentary bottle of champagne. This was very nice and the first time they offered compensation for the service, but the bottle of champagne also took 20 minutes to come out. For dinner we ordered the chicken wings, pork jowl lettuce wraps, wagyu betel leaf, chicken curry, shaking filet mignon and the vegetarian clay pot. The food was honestly very good with the betel leaf, shaking beef and vegetarian clay pot being table favorites, and maybe it was just an off night, but the service was so tough that I won't be recommending this restaurant to friends any time soon.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Houston so far! Food- amazing, really well prepped Vietnamese food with a modern twist. Had the banh xeo (single bite crisp; one plate was not enough!), fried tofu is pretty basic and classic, the fish is just awesome (great quality and flavor), the spring rolls are as expected and great Service - friendly (can be slow when busy) Ambiance - just look at this place; it took 28 months to build! in love with these vibes

Gorgeous restaurant serving gorgeous food. What better place to gather with my gorgeous friends than Annam? We enjoyed two different martinis: Ca Phe (coffee/espresso) and Lychee. To start, we had the fisherman's soup, which was light yet flavorful, and the pork jowl lettuce wraps which were rich, meaty, and complexly savory. We then had the Fried Whole Branzino, which was both visually and gustatorily stunning. It was crispy and well seasoned, with meaty flesh that was elevated by the bed of fresh vegetables and accompanying fish sauce. Also delicious were the Shitake Mushrooms in a Clay Pot, with its umami-rich sauce. Less exciting were the Shaking Filet Mignon (wonderfully tender, but it lacked flavor,) and the Skull Island Chili Garlic Prawns (underwhelming.) Dessert was mixed bag. I loved the Dubai Chocolate Mousse Cake but didn't care for the Coconut Pandan Mousse Cake. Service was excellent! Our server, in particular, was congenial, incredibly friendly yet professional and spot- on with her menu knowledge and recommendations. Our group was impressed, overall, and will be sure to return.

I love dining in Autry park so decided to give this restaurant a try. The service was excellent from the moment we walked in to the time we left. The food was delicious but the portions are tiny and I expected a bit more for the prices. I would definitely recommend to try it out.

When my friend made the reservation, she received an email encouraging customers to visit the tasting room before or after dinner. We showed up an hour early to visit the tasting room, however the host had no idea what we were talking about. Turns out they weren't doing tastings. Luckily, we didn't have to wait to be seated. We initially had a table that was not near a heat lamp, however an employee came over and let us know that we could switch to a table near the heat lamp which was appreciated because it was chilly. Our server was Laura. She was nice and funny. They had $25 flight specials. I went with the Sayanara Flight which had white wines. I really enjoyed them and they weren't too sweet. My friend had an NA wine which she enjoyed. We ordered the Truffle Fries and Meatballs. Both dishes were tasty. I enjoyed the aioli that came with the fries. They had discounted wines for purchase. Not all bottles were 50% off, however the gentleman that we spoke to went ahead and gave me a 50% discount on both the rosé and pinot grigio that I purchased which was so appreciated! It seems like there are quite a few businesses around town that are closing. I'm sad to see Mutiny go, but I'm glad my friend and I got to dine in on their final night.

"Closing time, you don't have to go home But you can't stay…read morehere." - Semisonic I have lived in the loop for 5 years now, and I'm sad to say that I finally tried Mutiny on their last day. I often pass by it going through a shortcut to I-45 and sometimes going home around the area. It's literally a 5-minute drive. I booked reservations Friday since I saw they opened up the 31st on Resy. It wasn't earlier in the week, but I knew it was the last day, and my friend and I really wanted to try. I'm glad we made reservations because they were at capacity (150 person capacity) and weren't taking any walk ins. We got there early cause Resy suggested checking out the Tasting Room before or after the reservation time. We got there about an hour earlier, and the host said he didn't know anything about that except that the Tasting Room area was used for events. Interesting. We were seated earlier on the patio on this freezing evening. At first, we were at a table that didn't have a heat lamp, but when one freed up, they were so nice to suggest that we move closer to the heat lamp since they saw us shivering. Lol. We were thankful for that. I wore fleece lined jeans and brought gloves and a beanie anyway having been in the below freezing winter in London. Laura was our server and was kind and funny. So was this other guy who checked in every now and then. He made light of their last day situation. The dining area is so beautiful inside. I love the limestone-looking interior and chandeliers. Reminds me of Fredericksburg or something. They had many large groups and a few small groups of friends or couples dining on this last day. Way to go out with a bang. A lot of the wines were selling out or already sold out around 7-8 pm. We tried the truffle fries and Sicilian meatballs with focaccia bread. I like the thick cut of the fries and the black garlic aioli. It reminded me of yuca fries. The Sicilian meatballs were a bit small, peppery and salty. I wish the marinara was a little more tart. The focaccia helped cut through the saltiness. I had 2 glasses of the NA Sauvignon blanc which was light and a little tart. They ran out of the NA red blend. My friend ordered Sayonara, one of their farewell flights which were aptly named for "goodbye". It was a great night on the patio but chilly. My friend purchased a rosé and a Pinot Grigio as part of their Last Sail wines. Actually, the Pinot Grigio wasn't part of the sale, and he was going to take off 20%, but he also made it 50% off. So nice!! I'm glad we got to try them on their last day. Bon voyage, Mutiny.

The bread was very buttery and nicely toasted. The frank itself was very juicy and I loved how the pico and mustard help cut through the fat. The thing that made this hotdog stand out was the cheese sauce. The cheese sauce was delicious and I could probably have just eaten that alone. One thing though, the hotdogs were a bit on the smaller size, you probably would have to order something else or a second hotdog if you were hungry. Would come back again just for this hotdog! Parking/Service: There was a small lot on the side of the building, but other than that you might have to street park in the neighborhood right next to it. The ordering system was a bit of a surprise for me. You have to walk in to the bar and order there.

I liked that there was a NA option for that, and you can choose either red or white. We ordered a pitcher since we were sharing. It was delicious and refreshing. I think I had about 3 wine glasses of it. Our group shared the red fish à la plancha, patatas bravas, spinach frittata, olive oil pancakes and bacon-wrapped dates. Some of the dishes were bigger than others. Tapas is meant to be small plates, and they were, but it's a little overpriced. For example, the red fish was $15.50 for maybe 2 oz of fish. The stack of olive oil pancakes were small and thin for $8.50. If you're sharing, it's not that much food. I was going to order another personal stack of olive oil pancakes because that cinnamon butter was so good! I decided not to after I let all of what we ordered and drank settle for a bit after. The valdeon whipped blue cheese under the bacon-wrapped dates didn't taste very good and seemed grainy to me. It was my least favorite. The standouts for me were the olive oil pancakes, spinach frittata that was actually loaded with more veggies and bell peppers and the patatas bravas which was piled with potatoes topped with mayo that melted down and looked almost like melted cheese on top. It's a fun place for friends to gather or a cute date spot. You may or may not be hungry after depending what you order. There are larger plates/entrees like paella and branzino to share.
