    Chicken Sandwich
    Brian P.

Toga is an amazing place to get some small bites! My girlfriend and I shared a few plates and we both got full still. Their happy hour menu is actually insane, they have some good items on there that I didn't see on the regular menu. I'm not exactly sure when happy hour is but I came around 5:30pm on a Thursday. We had the tuna carpaccio (MUST), wagyu burger (DO NOT skip this, it's $15 vs $26 during happy hour!!), Toga Chicken Sandwich (I loved this as well as a chicken sandwich guy), mushroom don, green beans, and a chicken skin skewer. The mushroom don was actually a pretty big bowl and it's very flavorful. Not earthy, but it just tastes well with whatever ingredients they use to mix it in. Green beans were okay, I think we were told it's a new item they were trying out but they were a little salty imo. The skin skewer was very fatty and I liked it, but it was small. The things you cannot skip: The tuna carpaccio is a top-tier menu item that tops other restaurants. The wagyu burger is super juicy and flavorful - like I said don't skip this during happy hour. The chicken sandwich was very crispy and perfect especially the meat. The bun was a little harder than I expected but nothing that changed the taste it overall. I would say don't skip on this either! Our servers were super friendly and we appreciated their vibe. Very welcoming and we'd like to say we'll definitely come back again in the future!

After recently trying both Oru and Kira we were excited to try out the restaurant group's newest spot, Toga. We had a reservation for 2 people for Saturday night at 7 pm and arrived a touch on the early side. They were able to seat us right away which was lovely. After doing my research on previous reviews I had decided we were going to get the burger and the carbonara but after a well placed recommendation from our waiter (who was great) we made a pivot. We tried: -Pickle Plate: This was a little too salty for me and probably the only thing I wouldn't order a second time. -Chef's Selection Yakitori: The meatball was the best of the 3 but we enjoyed the wing and the breast as well. -Wagyu Burger: Believe the hype, this was an outstanding burger. Cooked perfectly and messy to eat but in the best way. -Mushroom Don: Our waiter did not steer us wrong, this was indeed delicious. Chock full of mushroom and umami flavor we were very happy we ordered this. Our only mistake was not coming into this meal with a larger group. We already have plans to come back with friends to try the tuna carpaccio, carbonara, katsu curry and dessert torrija.

I had a good experience at Toga and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys having a little bit of everything. The highlight of the evening was definitely the service. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to guide us through the menu with thoughtful recommendations, which made the experience even better. Overall, it's a good spot with excellent service, and I'd be happy to return.

Toga you killed it. Last minute Thursday date night at 7:30pm. Got there and it wasn't too crowded but by 8:30pm it was vibing. We got a bunch of things to try. Miso soup was amazing. Served in a handmade ceramic cup chicken stock based which was super deep and aromatic. Tuna carpaccio which was amaaaaazing. Great toast points, classic but with an amazing wasabi mouse. Agadashi tofu which is one of my wife's favorites. We got the fries which were super crispy with amazing garlic and spicy aiolis the breast and BBL yakitori. The BBL was the winner. We ended by splitting the Katsu Curry spicy and sweet and super tender pork cutlets. Wish we had space for dessert! Service was amazing. Thoughtful and kind and engaged but not pushy. Ambiance was relaxed and easy going. Will definitely be back!

Wow what a great runny establishment . Great food , great service . The ambiance in here is great . Me and my wife decided to try Toga and it did not disappoint . We ordered the Wagyu burger , the udon carbonara , the pickled gulf shrimp and the fries . Everything was top tier , highly recommend

Lovely new dinner spot; casual, lively, and just cool enough to feel like a treat without being stuffy about it. No pics of this because we were too busy enjoying ourselves, but hands down the yakitori is the star of the show, highly recommend you start there. The udon carbonara was a touch salty for my taste with the miso and pancetta combo, but we still ate every last bite lol François took such great care of us and made the whole evening feel extra special. So happy this place exists in our neighborhood, my husband is already planning our next drop in!

Checked Toga out Friday night. Experience was 10/10. Hospitality was top notch! Constantly checked in on how we were doing which I appreciated. Enjoyed all the dishes that we ordered. My favorite was the mushroom rice bowl... OMG YUM! Chefs special Yaki is a must try and their Crudo with Leche de Tigre - which brought tears of joy to my eyes. Ambience was great - minimalist artsy vibe. Parking ample. Will definitely come back to try the other items my stomach unfortunately didn't have room for tonight.

However, I currently have food poisoning after eating here yesterday. 30 minutes after coming back from lunch break, I had diarrhea. I thought maybe it was just a bad day, but I am still suffering from this. I have to use the toilet many times a day, and I feel so nauseous. If it keeps getting worse, I am might have to consider going to urgent care. My boss ordered a salad that had the same veggies that came with the pan seared duck breast about a week ago, and also had diarrhea. He pieced two and two together. We believe that it's the veggies. I am worried that what I have is the parasite that's going around right now, cyclosporiasis. On another note, I wanted to try their specials. The lamb gyozas were okay. I didn't really like the skin of the gyoza, seemed a bit oily. I was excited to try the pan seared duck breast, but I found it to be a bit overcooked than what I usually have at other restaurants. A bit dry, kinda chewy, but the blueberry sauce was good. The salad that came on the side was good, but I believe that's what gave me diarrhea.

On nigiri night, announced a few days in advance on their socials, almost all of their nigiri is $5. Chutoro, otoro, hamachi, all melt in your mouth quality, all included in the special. That's a yes from me. As I mentioned, my friends and I love to do this deal every month and every time the staff have all been super friendly and make you feel more than welcome, providing recommendations and stopping by frequently to take more orders. Norigami does have a hidden speakeasy, Hidden Bar, which can be accessed through an unmarked door at the front of the restaurant. All had really great flavors but my personal favorite was the tantan noodles which came with poached egg, sauce, and garnishes that you got to mix into the noodles. Super creamy and nutty! I really loved the vibe of the restaurant too, it's small but has a homey vibe that would be great for either a small group hangout or a date. There's a lot of bars to visit nearby too. Our server was also so sweet and brought us a baggie of Japanese candies & sweets after our dinner since it was Valentine's Day. Only complaint was parking. Very small lot and very packed! Get there a bit before your reservation to figure out parking.

One waitress served everyone in the restaurant while I was there. She was speedy in taking and delivering orders. She seemed very nice! Food: ordered Tonkotsu Gachi and my mom ordered the yuzu. Food arrived very quickly, though we ordered no appetizers. The tonkotsu broth was rich and velvety in texture, but more like a mild umami in flavor. The chashu pork was pale, but melt in your mouth buttery and bursting with savory pork goodness! The marinated egg wasn't brought up to temperature with the broth -- a little cooler than room temperature, with a medium oozy yolk. It felt like the marinade penetrated all through to the yolk -- it was great! I welcomed the novel choice to use red onion over the usual scallions. It was a nice touch of color and brought in that bright, juicy onion flavor that I crave. Noodles were perfect texture. Not too hard or mushy. This bowl feels made to focus on the broth and flavor and not so much an instagram post. Delicious!! My only complaint was a very very very slight bitterness in the background. I couldn't pin where it was coming from. Maybe that's a risk of simmering bones for so long. I'll keep this short because I couldn't just eat my moms bowl... The Yuzu shio broth was clearer, with bright, citrusy, and savory body. The bamboo shoots were golden (grilled?) with a little snap to it. Reminds me of a king oyster mushroom. This is really a unique broth and I haven't had anything like it. You should definitely try it! Restaurant: clean, neat, every table literally has its place /orientation. Deep wood furniture, honeyed lighting, and dark window shades give the restaurant a cozy chic ambience despite visiting around noon. Good food, great service. Great prices. Large portions.
