    Jjajangmyeon
    Jason U.

Tried out Paik's Noodle and ordered the Jjajangmyeon and Sweet & Sour Pork. The jjajangmyeon was solid -- noodles had a nice chew, and the black bean sauce was savory and satisfying, though not the best I've ever had but still very solid. Next, the sweet & sour pork: the batter reminded me more of the Chinese-style version, with a mix of chewy and crispy textures. The flavor was decent, not mind-blowing, but still enjoyable. A nice bonus -- if you spend over around $30, they give you free dumplings! These were a highlight: pan-fried perfectly with a crunchy exterior and juicy filling. Service was excellent. Staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which really elevated the whole experience. Prices are fair for the portion sizes, and it's a good casual spot if you're craving Korean-Chinese comfort food in Houston's K-Town.

Overall, I came here mainly bc of culinary class wars and I was the only one who liked it out of my brother and mom lol. 3 stars bc I was the only one who liked my meal and price does not match quality. Judge Paik I am disappointed :( You order at the kiosk and wait for your number to be called. We got the seafood jajangmyeon (no pork), chilli jjampong, and 5pc soy garlic chicken wing. There was enough to take home for 1-2 more meals for 1 person. Seafood jajangmyeon: i recently dont eat meat so i was so excited to see a seafood version of one of my favorite noodles. Flavor wise, i thought it was great (it has some spice in it), but my mom and brother thought it was too sweet (I think they are more used to the salty Chinese version). Quality wise, did they use the cheapest frozen seafood they could find?? Super small pieces of shrimp and thin pieces of squid/octopus Chilli jjampong: it is a bit more spicy than regular jjampong (which some of us liked). However, I'm not sure if I got the wrong order because our jjampong had pork in it and we did not order the meat one. There was also just 1 mussel, no shrimp, and barely any squid/octopus. The pork was also just really sad small pieces anyways (I just picked them out) Soy garlic wings: I didn't try the chicken but the sauce was waaayyy sweeter than I've ever had. The size of the wings and amount of fries they gave were also comical. It don't think it was even a handful of fries, maybe a child's handful You have to bust your own table, get your own utensils/etc, so maybe higher prices could be because of that. there were only a few other people there during lunch on Sunday

중화 요리 (Junghwa Yori) Met my two favorite guys from work for a reunion lunch on Thursday at 11:40 am and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is casual and very clean. There is a kiosk that you order from and then find a table. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a little section that has silverware, bowls, napkins, etc. We ordered chicken tangsuyuk, gunmandu, beef jjamppong, and jajangmeyeon. Chicken tangsuyuk (4/5) - the chicken was fried crispy on the outside but tender and moist on the inside and the sauce was nice, not too sweet or sour - you can pour it or dip it, we did the dip. Gunmandu (3/5) - this is a personal preference, I'm just not into hard fried dumplings. The filling was nice and it was crunchy. Beef jjampong (3.7/5) - filled with seafood, the noodles were chewy and cooked perfectly, the soup had a kick but to me not overly spicy but my friend said it was spicy, it was very flavorful Jajangmeyeon (5/5) - I've been wanting to try this for a while and was pleasantly surprised; the noodles were chewy and paired perfectly with the sauce; my favorite There was a stream of traffic as well as pick ups. I will def be back to try a few more things and to get a jajangmeyeon to myself. Def worth a try. Keep supporting Asian businesses.

A Solid spot for quick, authentic Korean noodles/dishes. Great for a casual lunch. Mostly Korean patrons, which is always good sign when it comes to authenticity. We tried out a few noodle dishes, I liked the stir-fry noodles and the seafood jjamppongbap. The portions were very generous, and each dish came with a small side of pickled daikon. ample parking and seating inside, ordering via the tablet was quick and easy. You can pickup your utensils/bowls/water at the self-serving stations and they'll bring the food to you. Prices have crept up in the last few years with inflation but still worth it for the quality and portion sizes. Looking forward to trying out the sweet and sour pork next time!

Not too salty which is great! Very well balanced

Finally got to try it and they did not disappoint! Server was so kind and brought food out to us when it was ready. Noodles tasted so fresh and bouncy! Cute and cozy and lots of happy families and bellies in there.

The food was great. All of their noodles options were tasty. I really liked the chicken and the sweet/sour pork. There is a machine you order from when you go through the doors and then you just pick up your order when it's called. There is water and utensils you can grab and an area to return your trays/plates

    Jjajangmyeon, so good!!

Nestled along Long Point and Blalock on a busy intersection, inside a shopping/food strip in the very corner, Paik's Noodle provides some great quality Korean food! Came here for a group dinner on a Sunday night, and we all had an enjoyable time with some great food! The only thing that I've had (which is what they're known for) if the Jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles). And wow, they were sooooooo good! Perfect noodle portion, great balanced black bean sauce with the minced pork and onions, some green peas for color and I enjoyed every bite of it! Some other dishes our group tried was the sweet and sour pork (which was crispy and hot), and the stir fried jjajangmyeon, they all tasted delicious! In terms of the ambiance, it's very simple inside and very restaurant-like. There is plenty of parking that can accommodate everyone! Very good overall!

Solid restaurant for black bean noodles (jjajangmyeon). The regular jjajangmyeon is a must-have, and pairing it with some sweet and sour pork (tang soo yook) is like a taste of heaven. The restaurant is decently spacious. Parking might be a bit tight at times as it shares a lot with other small businesses. It's nothing fancy so maybe not the best if you're trying to impress your date with fine dining. Also note that it's a self-service restaurant. You get your own water and you bus your own tray and trash. You are still expected to tip when paying up front for your food though, so keep that in mind and just do it. Lastly, the prices have definitely gone up since the last time I was here. Normal jjajangmyeon is now over $10. I suggest you try it and judge the flavor for yourself. I love it.

We were planning on watching Season 2 of Squid Games and what better food to watch it with than good old Korean noodles. We stopped by on a weeknight to order our food to go. You walk in and order from a human or a machine. There's plenty of seating if you're dining in and it's also cool that you can see them in the back making your food. We got the stir fried jajangmyeon and the beef jjamppong to go. Both were delicious and filling. Probably the best jajangmyeon I've had in town. The portions were also big, i just wish there was a little bit more protein on both dishes. This place is definitely a place we'd go back again. Y'all should check them out! They also have a location in Chinatown.

I ordered Paik's via UberEats one night cause my friend told me their Jajangmyeon tasted exactly like the one she had during her travels to Korean. I've never had jajangmyeon before so was curious after seeing it in a lot of k dramas! Well let me tell you... it is delicious! The noodles and the black bean sauce were sent in separate containers - the noodles were cooked perfectly Al dente, but was a bit clumped together cause that's just what noodles do when packaged up and not fresh.. but that's just because I ordered it to-go. The sauce was flavorful.. full of onions, some pork, and maybe some other veggies?! It was perfectly flavored, not too salty even though it was saucy. Tasted like a nice gravy over the noodles. I devoured the whole thing, to say the least, and wanted more the following day. I'm still thinking about it as I type this up today. Maybe it's worth the drive to pick some up! I also ordered the chicken wings and the fried dumplings - dumplings were deep fried and crispy. Great flavors. Wings were sweet. But the standout dish was this jajangmyeon. Believe me when I say I'll have this dish again soon! Well done Paik's!

Look no more for some of the best Korean-Chinese food in town, from a chain no less! I got the chili jajangmyeon, and WOW it is spicy. The chilies are almost like Thai chili, they will straight up kick your ass. Black bean sauce and pork, name a better combo! It's such a comfort food, highly recommend it to everyone who's never had it (you don't need to get it spicy). There's plenty of other dishes to get as well. My girlfriend and I split the tangsuyuk, which is the sweet and sour pork. So damn good, and you can see the ingredients that go into it, way better than those from Panda Express and similar places. If you don't like it too saucy, you can request to have it on the side. They just opened one in Chinatown, we're not just limited to Spring Branch now!

Wow! So glad I finally stopped by here for lunch. (I mistakenly thought they were only open for lunch until 3 PM. However they do have dinner hours from 5 PM to 9 PM too!) Order at the kiosk just like you do in many restaurants in South Korea. If you know, Chef Paik - then you know his passion for jjanjangmyeon. This is a simple, tasty menu featuring popular Korean Chinese restaurant dishes. I opted for the Jjajangbap -- the alternative rice based entree. For $15.95 it is served with a hot, spicy bowl of Jjampong soup too. My eyes were bigger than my stomach, and I also ordered four pieces of fried Mandu. Which were also good but really not needed. I had more than enough to eat. Don't let the exterior of the somewhat sketchy strip center fool you. This place had plenty of local residents and business people coming in for lunch while I was there. The service was very friendly. And the portions were substantial. Next time Tangsuyuk!

I have been hearing about the black bean noodles here and finally was in the area! Also ordered the spicy seafood noodles and sweet and sour pork. We enjoyed all of it! The noodles were chewy and really tasty. Next time i will have to get it spicier!
