Absolutely loved our experience! The interior is modern and clean while the service is very efficient. The servers were friendly and attentive, which is a nice treat in Chinatown. And the food - absolutely loved the food. We were served a cool, sweet bean tea and pickled cabbage upon sitting. Then ordered the house beef noodles and pork dumplings. House Beef Noodles - 5/5 The meat was incredibly tender, the spice level was just right (got the extra hot) and the noodles were just the right texture and bounce (had a nice bite to it). Pork Dumplings - 5/5 Loved the sauce on this. The chili sauce was sweet and spicy and savory. The dumplings were tender and the wrappings had a good chewy texture. Overall, would recommend and return.
First time trying this spot. Came during lunch specifically for the beef noodle soup. I came right after the lunch buzz. There were only 4 other tables eating, so it was relatively quiet. But the two servers were great. Gave complementary tea and kimchi. I decided to order the spicy numbing beef soup. Yes it was spicy. Yes I was sweating. But I will be going back for this!
Mian appears modest and unassuming from the outside, but once you enter, a sleek, modern interior awaits. Since my roommates & I arrived on a Monday evening, it was quieter. A server came to bring us cold mung bean tea, and our appetizer was a spicy, pickled cabbage salad, so incredible... We then took our orders through their QR code. It was a bit tricky to follow their ordering system, and there was a slight mix-up when differentiating between the "Add to Cart" and "Submit" buttons. I had ordered the Mapo Tofu noodles, but my roommate accidentally deleted them from the list of items because she didn't realize it was my order. When each person in the party makes an item selection, it's considered an order for the entire table, not for the individual customer, which is why there was confusion. :( Despite technical difficulties, the food came out quickly, and it was a 10/10 across the board! - Huazing Fried Egg Noodles, more spicy, extra green onion, and less oil: (5/5) Delicious... the spice was not overwhelming, and a slight sour/acidic taste came from the tomato broth. I appreciate that there was an option to request less oil, as Sichuan places can sometimes get carried away in that department. Because of this, I was able to enjoy the broth more! - Pork Dumpling, extra green onion, less oil, and more spicy: (5/5) The pork dumpling was soft and had a chewy, gummy texture on the outside, and the chili oil they put on top packed a PUNCH. Nothing I couldn't tolerate, but wow, did it hit; additionally, there was a subtle sweetness. I'm sad I missed out on the chance to try their Mapo Tofu noodles, but it just incentivizes me to make a comeback to Mian!
What an incredibly efficient, super yummy little noodle/dumpling shop! The beef noodle soup was incredible - the soup reminded me of the ones from Taiwan and had a fair amount of beef chunks. The chili garlic dumplings were very good - although, be warned, there is a good amount of heat in the sauce. I've got a good spice tolerance and still sweated through my meal. They also have complimentary pickled cabbage and sweetened tea that they bring to each table that is just so good! Service is super fast and you can order via the contactless menus on the table. Overall, fantastic place for carbs and would def be back!
For the peeps who love spicy, either mala, numbing, green peppercorn-y, MIAN is the place to go. I came by myself last weekend when the weather suddenly turned freezing cold for some hot soup and I was super satisfied, the noodles warmed my soul. Upon entering, you see a well decorated modern chinese noodle street cafe style. Place can be little more well lit in my opinion, will definitely give a more visual impact on their food too. They offer contactless ordering using QR code which is helpful so I didn't feel rush on deciding what I want, especially when they got so many options! Service was fast and friendly, the server reminded me of the hot bowls when they served me the food. I ordered the steam egg and house spicy beef noodle but sub the regular noodle for rice noodles. The steam egg came in a really cute cup, it's one of those that I remember my grandpa would drink water or hot tea out of it back when I was little. It's a very nostalgic and touching grass item haha the egg itself is super qq like jello, and well flavored by the minced pork and sauce on the top. The beef noodle was also really good. I ordered medium spicy and it was good, it had a perfect kick of mala spicy on my tongue every bite, they give a lot of beef too, good tender chewiness. The rice noodle was cooked al dente, not my preference but I let it seep in the soup for a while and slowly got softer to eat. Overall this is a good spot to get some hot noodle soup on a cold day. They got non spicy options too!
Really good! We had the traditional beef noodles and the braised ribs noodles. The meat was super tender. The broth super flavorful and spicy. Noodles perfectly cooked. The food came out quick and staff is on it with the tea refills. The inside was clean and it eventually got pretty full of people but staff stayed on top of helping customers.
Mian in Houston definitely hits the spot when you're craving hand-pulled noodles with some spicy intestines. The texture of the noodles was perfectly chewy, and the broth had that deep, spicy richness that keeps you sipping. The portions were generous, and the spice level was just right, I always get the more spicy option and it's enough to make your nose run but still flavorful. Service was quick and friendly, though the place can get crowded, so expect a short wait during peak hours.
Mian is top tier in sichuan noodles, meeting some of my highest standards for taste, portion size, service, and price. They also make ordering super easy with an online menu that you can place orders directly from your phone on! And there's complimentary, endless red bean tea and pickled spicy vegetables while you're waiting for your food and enjoying the cute themed interior. I've gotten several different types of noodles, including the zajiang noodles, spicy house beef noodles, and hot and sour noodles (my absolute favorite) - EVERY bowl has me thinking about Mian for days afterward. I've been here several times, and I 100% will be back!

This is a solid noodle place!! I had the clear broth beef noodle, and I was surprised by how rich the broth was. It was similar to the Korean gomtang broth. I generally like my dishes plain so I enjoyed it a lot. Most of my friends love the beef noodle soup, which I will definitely try next time! Service was pretty quick, and the place was packed during lunchtime.
I love Mian! They have the best dumplings. My favorite are the chili oil dumplings, and the pork dumplings. The pork dumplings sauce has kind of an almost sweet spiciness to it. I also feel like there's maybe cinnamon or different kinds of spices that they put in with the dumpling sauce. It's so delicious!

(Thank to my amazing boyfriend for this hidden gym) The flavors were bold, rich, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of heat. Every bite felt comforting and satisfying -- the kind of dish that warms you from the inside out. On a cold winter night, this bowl was pure soul-soothing magic. If you're craving something flavorful, comforting, and truly unforgettable, these Sichuan noodles are it. Highly recommend!
Was craving some noodle soup and this place doesn't disappoint! Very clean establishment. You order with a QR code from your table. They instantly bring some tea and pickled cabbage. We ordered the Beef House Noodles with extra beef. Also ordered steamed bok choy and black fungus. Noodles were bouncy and chewy. Broth was rich and flavorful, beef was so tender. Definitely recommend this place for a good meal!

I LOVE this place!! The service is amazing and quick; you get free sweet barley tea as a refreshment as well as free pickled cabbage. We also ordered the cold beef app which was delicious. Good flavors and just the right amount of spice. I LOVE the numbing spice beef noodles! The broth, meat, noodles are all so good and are the perfect combo. The restaurant has really nice decor and there is plenty of seating. Big parking lot outside but it does get pretty packed. read more
This is a gem. From the broth of the soup to the tenderness of the beef; this is the place to get Szechuan food. The pork Dumplings have incredible flavor! Everything is contactless which was great! Overall just a great experience all round. Upon sitting down, the server immediately brought a complimentary order of spicy cabbage and mung bean tea, which both were extremely tasty! The mung bean tea especially was absolutely perfect for helping cool down my mouth between bites since the food is pretty spicy. We ended up ordering the five spice peanuts as an appetizer and enjoyed it quite a bit! Very tasty and the portion felt very fair, especially since it was only $4. For my entree, I ordered the vegetarian mapu Tofu noodle dish. I was a bit disappointed with my first couple of bites before realizing I needed to mix it together since a lot of the sauce was sitting towards the bottom of the dish. Once I mixed it all together though I ended up really enjoying it! The spice level was just right (I ordered regular spicy) and the peppercorn wasn't overpowering in the slightest (I would've preferred a bit more peppercorn but that's because I love it to a concerning degree). Service was great and were on top of refilling my drink, which was pretty often given how spicy the food was. Atmosphere was great as well, place had a very strong casual vibe but was still very much aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. read more
Been coming here for years now and I must have this one of my favorite places for beef noodle soup. My favorite is their House Noodle Soup 滋味牛肉麵. While I did feel like they were the most expensive in town, other places have all caught up in price. The interior is nice and clean, set up for small parties. There are a few tables in the middle that can be pushed together if you do have a larger party. When it comes to beef noodle soup, this is one of the best in Houston. Mian is a more modern restaurant in chinatown that highlights szechuan noodles. Each bowl is delicately crafted and has remained consistent for each of my visits throughout the years. With each visit, they also offer mungbean tea that pairs well with the spice of their dishes. The spicy pork rib is definitively my favorite noodle bowl here. It features a rich broth with chewy noodles. The noodles take the broth really well with each bite. The pork ribs are tender and juicy. Some of my other outstanding favorites off the menu include the zajiang noodles with peas and the red oil wontons. The ordering is through the website app so it is a very seamless process. The establishment is also kept up with and very clean. I have always left Mian very satisfied with my meal. Definitely give this place a try if you are in the area. read more

YUM! the house beef noodle soup was SO yummy. i loved the portioning of all the noodles, veggies, and beef. the staff was super friendly and made a great effort to even chat with me about where i got my purse (LOL) -- service was quick and efficient. very well done the restaurant inside was quiet, pleasantly lit, and cozy. everything flowed really nicely, and the decor is really put together. read more
This place is good! I was craving dumplings and theirs was so comforting. We got dumplings and the beef noodle soup but with almost no spiciness. Thank goodness you can adjust the spice level. The popcorn chicken was also very freshly made. Everything was so hearty and I can't wait to go back. read more

We started off with the spicy black fungus and popcorn chicken. The mushrooms had a really nice spicy garlic flavor that complimented them well. The dumplings and beef noodle soup really hit the spot. I'd guess the noodles are made in house, and they were perfectly cooked. Food was amazing! Amazingly generous portions and fantastic food! I wasn't expecting 2 whole beef ribs in my soup but was pleasantly surprised and soo satisfied after my meal here. This is the best spot in Houston if you want to get noodle soups, spicy wontons, and delicious appetizers. read more
We enjoyed date night at Mian! The food was definitely the biggest hit of the night. We opted for the Zajiang noodles with extra beef and pork to share, as well as the chili oil dumplings. You order on your phone and the servers bring the food directly out to you. The dumplings came out hot and fresh and were so tasty! We dug in to the noodles next which went wonderfully with the pork and egg. We mixed the beef in - it was protein-friendly and a good amount of food for us to share. We chose the less oil option and are very glad we did as the noodles were already on the oily side. The medium spicy level was also a bit spicier than we expected - it was very delicious but be careful if you have a lower spice tolerance! The only thing I found strange was that when we asked for a paper menu, we were told they didn't have one, though we later saw another family given a paper menu. Otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would love to come back! read more
This review is long time coming!! The first time I had Mian noodles was "post" pandemic when take-outs were still prevalent. I've been a happy customer since 2021 & make sure to get their food any time I'm in Houston. Though I never had the pleasure of dining-in at their restaurant until very recently! I already knew their food is top notch, and I'm happy to report their service is exceptional as well. Unfortunately, I didn't get the server's name but she was so sweet, attentive, and went above & beyond. My friend loved their serving bowls and wanted to know more about it, and she did her best to get the information for him. They're located in Chinatown in a strip with other restaurants & stores, so there's plenty of parking nearby. Inside is very tidy & cozy. We came for an early lunch & it wasn't too packed so we were seated quickly. There were other groups also enjoying their share of noodles soups and appetizers. They offer different spice levels to cater to everyone's taste preferences which is always a plus. You place the order on your smartphone by scanning the QR code on your table. That takes you to an online menu where each person from the table can add their item to the cart, which is then added to one collective order/bill. As for food, I absolutely love the complimentary spicy cabbage. I hope they never take it away!!! I remember them having lotus roots in the past which they no longer do or I must've missed it. We always get the spicy black fungus as well. You cannot go wrong with the spicy beef noodle soups!!! The beef tender, the noodles chewy, & both cooked to perfection. The broth is so flavorful & divine. This dish is perfect for any weather but especially on cold days. The portions are large & can easily be shared between two people, especially if you're ordering other items. The popcorn chicken was crunchy on the outside & tender on the inside with an addicting flavor. I kept going back for more. I also tried the spicy & sour wontons for the first time, & it blew my mind. Soooo good!!! For dessert, we always try to get the sweet iced jelly. I say "try" because they make a limited amount each day and there were times when they had run out. You mix the jelly with all the toppings it comes with for the perfect bite. This is probably the best handmade noodle shop I have ever been to! The prices are very affordable and the portions are generous. Each dish is very customizable to your personal taste. Scan the QR code at your table, pick your noodle dish, pick spicy level, and add or detract veggies/meat. Servers will bring your order to the table along with water, any drinks you order, and complimentary mung bean "tea". It is extremely subtle tasting and a tiny bit sweet. A perfect accompaniment to the spicy, savory noodles! My party ordered Spicy Sechuan Cold Noodles, Black Fungus Salad, and a couple variations of the Spicy Beef Noodle Soups. YUM! The restaurant itself has a minimalistic and modern vibe. It feels very clean and fresh! This plaza gets super busy and parking becomes hard to find so come before the rush. Loved everything about this place. In Bellaire but in quieter, older shopping center so you're not dealing with the crazy parking and chaos of most Bellaire eateries. Cute little spot, 2 staff members, simple but appealing deco. Everything we ordered was delicious, the food is 4 star but what got the extra star, in total 5 stars was for the ease of ordering and customization of the meals. You sit and scan and as you order they bring items out, you don't need to keep calling waiters over. You can customize the entrees to your perfect liking. I will definitely be back many times and recommend! read more

I ordered the beef noodle soup to go which was pretty seamless. There was a QR code for takeout orders on the table at the front. I got my food within maybe 10 minutes. I assembled everything once I got to my destination, not really knowing what was in each container. I ran out of room and didn't add much of the broth. It wasn't the best beef noodle Ive ever had but I'd order it again. I ordered it with mild spice level and to my surprise it actually made my nose run a tad. I'll say the pickled cabbage (I think that's what it was) was the star of the show! So much flavor and a great addition to each bite. read more
Great food for good prices and portions! What more can I say. The inside is fairly modern and service was quick and kind. The food is the star, haven't had a better beef noodle soup in awhile. The spicy wonton was a bit different from what I'm used to, but had a greater depth of flavor, too. Popcorn chicken and fried potatoes... well you can never go wrong with that, and they were good and not oily. Nice and friendly service. They serve a free side dish of spicy cabbage and free sweetened tea. Sichuan food is not my personal preference as it's too numbing and spicy for me. I do appreciate that you can adjust almost everything on your order including having it less oily, less spicy, and remove certain toppings. 1. Clear broth beef noodle with mild spice and no numb. It was probably the least spicy out of the 3 dishes. The beef was sliced super thinly and felt almost like deli meat. 2. Mild house beef noodle with mild spice and no numb. It was still to spicy for me and I didn't love the flavor of the soup. The meat was actual chunks of beef though. 3. Zajiang noodles - liked the peanut taste but nothing special. You scan a QR code at your table and order online and then you pay at the front after you are done eating. The waiter will serve you your drink and utensil. Overall not bad, but not my preference on flavor and spice. read more
