If one was going purely on ambiance alone, Bellaire's Pho Ben location is an easy aesthetic win. Their team clearly went above and beyond with the interior design, with thematic elements from the light fixtures to the furniture. The dining area feels bright and inviting, and is not just the best looking location amongst the chain, but certainly one of the best looking pho restaurants in the greater Houston area. While the vibes are on point, so too is the service. The staff works very hard at ensuring a quality experience for all and they've been attentive, professional, and super efficient during every visit. From large groups to solo dining sessions, I've always appreciated the efforts. There have been up-and-down moments with the pho, notably with how salty the broth has been but it's been largely a positive experience. When the pho is on point, it is very good and is no doubt the best in the neighborhood. The portions are not substantial by any stretch, but certainly sufficient enough for a filling meal. Pho is not their only claim to fame, but I would venture their mi bo kho (beef stew with egg noodles) is worth a look. For folks who enjoy dipping, the banh mi (bread) bo kho is also a good alternative. The lunch crowd is big on their bun bowls, their crispy cha gio, and banh mi options. Personally the bun thit nuong (grilled pork vermicelli) is always the default for yours truly. Even the Viet coffee is presented in slow-drip form. There is a small dedicated parking lot out front and the weekends are usually packed. Prices are fair in today's economy and an ideal location for groups and solo dining. Of the several locations across the city, this Bellaire location is my favorite.

My go-to spot for pho in Houston. Their spring rolls are my absolute favorite part. They are so fresh and their peanut sauce has crushed peanuts in it which I very much so enjoy. Their pho is comforting and indulgent.

I was in town for Miami for a conference and had been looking for some good Pho. After a lot of searching from TikTok in Google, I came across this place. Walking in the ambience was so nice. I love the set up. I love the decor. It almost felt like you were eating at a fancy establishment. Someone came to see me and my friends and they got some water right away. Shortly after they took our orders and for many of my friends, it was their first time eating pho so he suggested a few things which was very helpful. I must say this is some of the best pho I think I've ever had. It was so flavorful. I enjoyed every bit of it. I highly recommend this place. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely check it out.

This is a solid option - I'm definitely taking this place over any of the downtown pho restaurants. But I think the broth does not have as much depth of flavor as the Pho Ben in Sugarland. I would come back here again, mostly for the convenient location.

Such a let down. The pics and reviews looked good and made me pick this place over another. Parking lot was full which I thought was a good sign. There were even people waiting to be seated. All the right signs you look for. Seating took between 5-10 mins. Wait staff was fast and attentive. I ordered the "large" Vietnamese beef stew, which was something new for me. Food came out pretty fast. This beef stew was five pieces of meat in broth. The meat was over cooked and mostly fat. The broth tasted watered down. It came with a fresh baguette which was good. Soft and warm inside with a crunchy exterior. Maybe I ordered the wrong dish. I'm in no rush to head back.

Glad to have this restaurant in the neighborhood. Have accepted the inner loop pricing. My husband likes the grilled beef banh mi. I will rotate between banh mi dac biet and bo kha. The sleeper dish for me is the rotisserie Cornish hen. My kids don't usually like viet marinated meats, so this is an alternative dish they will eat. I do debone for them to eat. V tasty.

Some of the best veggie broth pho I've had! My main complaint with most place's veggie broth is that a lot of the time it just ends up tasting like vegetable soup. While I still haven't found a veggie pho that captures the same magic as its meat based counterpart, this place has come the closest. I was also shocked by how much I enjoyed their Thai tea. Surprisingly tasty and will be ordering it in the future! Service and atmosphere are also great, drinks always get topped up super quickly and have always felt welcomed!

Great location and interior. Very cute ambiance. Everyone was very sweet and helpful. Food was delicious and HUGE PORTIONS. Also got spring rolls and the peanut sauce was the best. I got the wonton noodles and my mom got chicken vermachilli. Would come again

Overall an underrated place to get pho and bun Bo hue in Bellaire as it is not on one of the main plazas, but it is definitely worth the trip here as the vibes are more elegant and quiet than what you would get in other parts of Bellaire. The food is also really tasty.

My friend's food appeared contaminated. The staff quickly removed the hair from my banh mi before I could take a photo.

I had a really disappointing experience at Pho Ben. I ordered the pork banh mi, which is a starred item on their menu, and found what was very clearly a hair in my food. One employee initially tried convincing me it was lemongrass, but after I pointed out the follicle attached to it, he seemed speechless and didn't know what to say. A second employee then acknowledged that it was hair. The workers weren't necessarily rude, but I was told it was "policy" not to make the meal free because that batch would just be replaced with a new one. They did void the item off the receipt, but the situation still felt very unhygienic and poorly handled overall. Basic food safety and cleanliness should be taken more seriously, especially when a customer points out contamination in their meal.

This was a nice pho option close to my family's house with a nice ambience and reasonable prices. In my opinion, the pho was solid and flavorful though it wouldn't make my top pho places. The spring rolls were pretty good and I recommend the beef ones which had a good amount of meat. The service was friendly enough. Overall, I'd come here again when I'm in the area and wanting pho.

Wanted fresh spring rolls & stopped at Pho Ben. I hadn't heard of Pho Ben before & when I looked it up, they opened in Sugarland in 2012 & grew to multiple locations. I waited a short moment before being seated. Ice water was brought to my table promptly. Started with the spring rolls (No. 2 with both thinly sliced meat & shrimp) which were tasty. Ordered small bowl of pho no. 19 & it was brought out steaming hot immediately. Too much food for me but I did my best! Friendly service, great ambiance, nice appropriate music. Will be back here & will look for their other locations.

Stopped by for a quick meal and was pleasantly surprised by how aesthetically pleasing the interior was! Very nice vibes and catered to a variety of eaters. I got a large beef pho (with round steak, flank, fatty brisket, soft tendon and white tripe) that had such a rich deep flavor and paired well with my refreshing mango smoothie! It was a great combination that was delicious and left me excited to return to try more of their menu.

I've learned from my first visit to stick strictly to the dumplings and noodles. This is one of the few places that makes great dan dan noodles. It actually had a bit of numbness to it and was genuinely spicy. The peanut sauce was potent and delicious. The zhajiang noodles were also fantastic; meaty but also sweet with a hint of salt. The accompanying vegetables do a great job of adding a bit of freshness to the noodles. My daughter loooooved the soup dumplings, I'm pretty sure she ate most of them. The broth is light, the dumpling wrapper was bouncy, and they were well filled. The meat inside was well-textured and seasoned. The shumai was shrimp based, which I liked a lot. Sometimes the flavor can be mild, but this was a loud and proud shumai. You could taste not only the shrimp but also ginger and other spices. Before their recent expansions to Austin, it all began here in Rice Village exactly 15 years ago. The vibes are contemporary and casual, with the kind of space that fits for just about any scenario. Whether it's a solo meal, a lunch date, or a group led affair, the experience is almost always an excellent one. Start by ordering at the counter and find a seat where the food will brought directly to the table. So much of their variety caters to all sorts of dietary restrictions from vegan to gluten free to nut free. Their spicy crispy brussels sprouts ($10) are a nice starter, as is the squash "onion" rings ($12). The local power bowl ($16) is a classic and I've always enjoyed the brown rice and quinoa combo. Their chicken "posolé" is solid, and I love the large hominy bits along with the clear but green tint of a broth. The chicken shawarma bowl ($20) is an interesting mix that includes pickled beets and strawberries, along with their market cheddar burger ($17) and fabulous twice cooked fries. The carrot cupcake is strangely addicting, and I think their gluten free brownie is a bit of a sleeper. Some of their items didn't jive with me previously, such as an underwhelming cashew queso ($9), a semi-laughable Vietnamese steak bowl ($22), and their semi-gringo version of a banh mi ($15). It's not that these items are bad per se, but they definitely don't live up to the same standard that I feel their other dishes do best. Where they hit the biggest home run is their customer service. Everyone working behind the counter does their best to deliver and they almost always do by staying on top of refills, cleanups, and customer greets. I've always enjoyed my experiences here and look forward to every visit.
