I think I can give 4 stars because it was a decent good pho at home as to go a good amount of fresh lean brisket and pho Noodles are not the fresh ones like at Sapa but I liked it because you can taste some of beef broth in it so I will try to go inside the place next time.

Xeo Yum must be my favorite Vietnamese restaurant. Their new location is beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. We came in the evening for dinner and were greeted right away and got seated. We started off with gio cuon (fresh spring rolls) and it was delightful with fresh herbs, and the meat was marinated to perfection. I had Banh Xeo Saigon with no shrimp. I asked for extra pork belly instead. I love the banh xeo here, the crepe is thin and crispy! My husband had the Pho Dac Biet, which he always gets when he comes to Xeo Yum. He loves the pho here! Overall, good experience and the food are phenomenal. Cannot wait to come back and try different things from their menu!

I came here with my parents for dinner but didn't realize this place was in their soft opening stage. When we arrived, they have a tiny parking lot- many guests were parking in the lot across the street where the Mexican market was and walking over because there wasn't alot of parking spaces available. When I finally got parking, the restaurant was packed in the tiny waiting space they have in the front door. My mom was able to get a table for 3 within 10 minutes though as the groups of 4+ were the ones waiting for a table. The space is quite beautifully decorated and I love the mural in the back, main dining area! Their bar was empty when I came in about 6:30/7PM and there wasn't any bartenders standing in the back. When we got sat, we were given menus and that's when I realized they were in a soft opening. We ordered the Banh Xeo and Banh Khot (of course) and then we asked for bo luc lac, chicken wings and fried rice (not shown). Our order was taken fairly quickly and within 10 minutes of ordering, our Banh xeo and banh khot came out. I was so surprised but this was just the start. The food was delicious, however we would finish a course and then the next would come out 20 minutes after. I realized after some time that the kitchen was cooking all the same dishes in mass and sending those out instead of completing ticket by ticket so that we could get all of our food at once. The food was very delicious however, but the wait time between each dish was 20-30 minutes. I thought I was done, and we were basically ready for our bill, when my mom asked to order the mi sao, and that's when we got stuck in the restaurant for another hour. It was 8:30pm at this point, where my entire meal was already 1.5 hours. When I brought it up to the server, he said he would first go talk to the manager, then he said it would take 30 minutes, then when I said I either want a refund because I had paid and closed out already as the first server who took the order said it'd take 5-10 minutes.....or they make the food ASAP and give me a portion to-go. The server looked stumped and went back to the kitchen and said the manager was working on the order and it'd be out in the next 10 minutes. We eventually got the food and it was still good. I just wish I didn't have to wait an hour for this one to-go course. I think this place would be great to eat but the kitchen needs to work out the kinks of service time. I would recommend giving this place a chance probably in another 4-5 months once they've gotten through their soft and grand opening.

Small parking lot - spaces on side closer to the building appear to be wider.

I didn't even realize this place had closed and moved to a new location until I saw an article in the newspaper. But boy am I glad they moved because now they're much closer to me! They are now located in a standalone brick and mortar with their own parking lot. As others have said, the parking lot is not only small, but the spaces are tight. My little sedan was parked between two SUVs, and I could barely get in or out. By barely, I mean, I opened my door 4 inches, used one hand to throw my purse and jacket in, and then shimmied my way in. If you have a precious car, I would be prepared for some door dings if others are not as courteous. I landed the last open spot so thought the place would be packed, but there were still quite a few open tables. I'd say it was about 70% full (not including bar area), which tells me with the parking situation, they will never be maxed out. They should probably make some sort of deal with the neighbor restaurant to allow some more parking. Anyhow, for a soft opening, I thought everything was very good. I was seated immediately, and the service was fast and attentive. I ordered the bo ne (5/5) and the pork sausage spring rolls (3/5). I remember the spring rolls were better at the food hall location, but probably because they were more freshly made. These seemed like they had been sitting around a while. But the bo ne was fantastic - savory, juicy, cooked to perfection. The bread was also perfectly fluffy on the inside and flaky on the outside. I will be back for the banh xeo and banh khot - hopefully just as good as I remember.

I was so sad to hear their previous location inside the food hall was closing down but to my excitement they've opened a brick and mortar in Spring branch! The one big downside of their location is the limited parking. I've been twice now and the first time I got the last spot in the lot that was extremely hard to get out of. The second time I went ten minutes after opening and actually had to park across the street. I passed by recently and there's no a sign saying you can't do that. They'll need to figure something out though because there's otherwise really nowhere else to park and that will deter people from staying as there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. Banh khot: 4/5 pretty good but not my fav in the city. It's more convenient to eat than banh xeo though Banh xeo: 5/5 probably my fav one I've had. Super crispy batter and lots of filling Egg rolls: 4/5 solid option Nem nuong cuon: 4/5 Pho: 4/5 their pho broth is actually pretty good might be my new go to in the area Mi xao hai san: 3.5/5 solid but nothing super special Vietnamese coffee: 4/5 would get again I also really like their sate, you can taste more than just chili and oil Overall, this is a great addition to the area. I love coming for a light but filling lunch.

Excellent banh xeo (Vietnamese crepes). Not many places have it, and it's nice to have a spot outside of the Viet side of Bellaire. They used to be at the Conservatory, which shut down so they finally re-opened around a month ago. The fiance really likes banh xeo, so we both ordered the banh xeo saigon, which was excellent. It's fried nicely, and they give plenty of aromatics. I still don't quite have the best way to eat it, so I kind eat it like a salad, though the fiance eats it like lettuce wraps. Choose your own adventure! Pricing I think is fair. Areas of improvement: 1) The back part of the restaurant had the AC blasting, which was a bit too uncomfortable, plus your food would get cold pretty quick. 2) We asked our server if we could move due to the AC, and he said we could move anywhere. Later, they were confused when they brought the food to the original table, and the same server seemed like he forgot he told us we could move. The parking is pretty tough, the lot isn't too large, so each spot is kinda tight. No real place for overflow traffic. They have signs all around the restaurant letting people know NOT to park in the plaza across the street, which will cause you to get towed. Would recommend going outside of the busiest hours, or carpooling if going in a group. We're a fan!

I loved their food when they were serving from the Conservatory in Midtown so couldn't wait to try this new location. One of the staff came to open the door for us when he noted one of us was on crutches-sweet! The space is open and tables are nicely spaced out. Service was attentive and prompt, food took no more than 5 minutes to start arriving. I really appreciate the fish sauce dipping prep provided at the table, so you can make it to your liking. We ordered: * Goi cuon thit nuong - well presented, served warm with perfect peanut sauce for pairing * Pho with rare beef, brisket, & tendon - broth is rich and flavorful with abundant meats. However, the noodles were soggy and already breaking when the bowl arrived. * Banh xeo Saigon - asked for no bean sprouts, perfectly crispy and served with an abundance of fresh veggies for wrapping. Lots of shrimp, pork belly, and sautéed onions stuffed inside - no complaints. * Vietnamese coffee and lychee iced tea ordered were forgotten until we reminded the server halfway through our meal. Both were good, expect the lychee tea to be in the very sweet side. Parking is tight here, arrived at 6 PM on Wednesday and there were only 3 parking spots left so plan to carpool if possible. By the time we headed out at 7 PM, the restaurant was full, no empty table. I can't wait to come back and try their many other dishes.

Friday night during their soft opening, Xeo Yum checks all the boxes. The interior is welcoming with greenery, light wood colors and plenty of light. The service is prompt and helpful. Food arrived quick and sometimes out of sequence - spring rolls arrived after entrees. I'll give a pass given the soft opening. I'm sure they will tidy that up. The food was fresh, great flavors and large portions. We clearly over ordered but we wanted to try everything. The Banh Xeo Saigon is what brought us here. My wife saw a preparation on TikTok Tok and found this place while scrolling. So glad for that. Bo Ne and Bo Luc Lac were stars as well. It's currently BYOB but I think they are getting a license given there's a bar area and martini glasses. On my way out, I passed a table with something I'm coming back for, a huge beef rib on a plate with a bowl of Pho. It's exciting to have this in Spring Branch even if the parking is super tight. Go! You won't be disappointed.

    Banh Khot & Banh Xeo

I'm so glad they reopened, we came during soft opening with everyone trying to give this place a try & not enough employees. Food: delicious! Banh Khot - crispy, coconut batter taste - need more scallion on top similar to those in Vung Tau, Vietnam Banh Xeo : cook perfectly crispy without feeling oily, topping with pork and shrimp inside felt like precooked & add on, a little overcooked esp the pork. We need more mint & correct type of veggies come with Banh Xeo like Rau xanh & other mints instead of lettuce wrap and Thai basil. Bo Ne - grilled beef skillet tastes great, condiment with pate and butter should have more bigger portion but overall is great. Salad and banh mi on the side is a plus. Service: friendly but seriously need more servers to accommodate the amount of customers esp during rush hour weekends. They're great, but cannot handle the amount of guests & we have to eye ball them down with hand raise to get serve. Food takes an hour to come out which is way too long. Spacious & decorate with a touch of Saigon street scene like Ben Thanh market mural. Tables with chairs pretty close by each other. Parking is a nightmare. Do not drive your big SUV as it's only 1 way in and out. You literally have to back out or good luck maneuvering. Not many parking space either so this can be inconvenient. However, overall we will definitely come back when they settle in, fully trained staff & possibly not on the weekends.

The food: Nem Nuong Cuon - 7/10 - Grilled Sausage rolls nem nuong sauce, one wish there was more sauce and sausage was ok. Tamarind Chicken Wings - 7/10 - not consistent drumettes were juicy but some of the flats were dry... flavor was good. Banh xeo saigon - 10/10 - crispy savory crepe Crepe was super crispy... stuffing had a good balance of shrimp, pork and sprouts Banh khot - 10/10 - mini crispy savory pancakes Little bundles of yum, tender shrimp and crispy pancake... good coconut flavor. Large pho - 8/10 - rare ribeye steak, meatball, tendon Broth was so good, meat was tender, meatball was tasty just wish the tendon was more tender. com ga nuong xa - 7/10- fried egg, egg loaf-cha trung, bun thit nuong - rice was on the dry side (broken rice would have been nice), meat needed more lemongrass, fried egg was just right and egg loaf was tasty just a bit too salty. The greeting was very attentive. Service was friendly just a little inconsistent especially when it got busy. This is a family friendly place. Went early because I was not sure what parking would be like. The spaces are definitely limited. BTW - The main door is furthest from the street.

Absolutely loved the banh khot - great presentation, easy to break apart to share, and perfect serving size. The tofu was also good, but I would have preferred it a little drier with a side of lime/salt/pepper to dip. I also like the dish with more veggies, specifically mushrooms, but that's just a preference. As for the Bo Ne, i've had better. The beef wasn't properly seared and wasn't very flavorful. I think some Maggi on top would've made it better The service was just okay. Coming in, we were immediately seated and given menus, but ordering and requesting additional things like a knife or napkins, was a bit of a struggle. The servers were definitely on the young side and inexperienced. All that being said, I would totally come back to check out other items. I also thought the decor was cute.

I am so thankful they opened somewhere else because it's the best in town. Period. Everything here is spectacular and made to perfection. I haven't found any bánh khot even remotely worthy around town and that I love as much. Can't wait to come back and hope everyone can make it here to support this place. Specifics: Parking-lots of space on the lot around and in front and large spaces too Service-everyone is super nice Food-spot on per usual. Got the spring rolls and banh khot. Side note: be patient during soft openings and newly opened in general as everyone is getting their bearings and that's the point of a soft opening Shoutout to Yelp Houston for having an event here when they were at Stetsi Food Hall so we could discover this deliciousness.

Since this was their soft opening, I hope things improve, but our overall experience was pretty lackluster. We ordered the Bo Ne and a Che 3 Mau without ice. The water came out with two dirty cups, which it seems like the cups may have been wiped down with towels instead of properly cleaned. The Che 3 Mau came out afterward in a plastic cup with a plastic spoon. I was hoping it would have more flavor, but it wasn't sweet enough for me, even without the ice. There were no utensils until the Bo Ne came out, and they only gave one set even though there were two of us. The Bo Ne took a bit to arrive and came on a huge skillet with a good amount of food. The sauce was flavorful and the bread was good, but the skillet didn't seem hot enough. The egg was a little overdone, and the meat was unevenly cooked, with some pieces still raw inside while others were well done. At $19.5, the Bo Ne is expensive compared to others, and it only came with one small container of mayo and pate, which wasn't enough for the amount of food. There were also no check-ins during the meal, and I noticed they cleaned the tables with Windex, which was a little off-putting. Hopefully they can work through these issues after the soft opening, but based on this visit, it missed the mark for us.

Their bánh khọt was crispy, sweet and savory, and went well with the fish sauce. Although the portions initally look small, they are very filling. The bò né was filling and sizzling when it came out. It also came with a side of salad. The meat was tender. I really liked the bánh khọt and would definitely come back for them. I couldn't have been more wrong. Xeo Yum (#1) as it turns out is one of the most legit Vietnamese places in Midtown serving up some of the city's best banh xeo and banh khot. Located inside of a Food Hall (#2) in the back corner, they have low-key become a destination and without question, the most popular stall in the entire place. The fan base didn't happen overnight but is a direct result of Chef Cuong Nguyen's commitment to quality Vietnamese fare. Banh Xeo is their signature item, which is also known as a sizzling crepe or pancake made of rice flour, tumeric, and coconut milk. The banh xeo holds well, is perfectly crispy, and is nicely stuffed with an assortment of beans sprouts, shrimp, and some of the best grilled pork belly I've had. Another specialty item that doesn't get enough mention is their banh khot, which is similar but has a mini muffin / cupcake like appearance made in a specialty cast iron mold. This version is wonderfully crispy and pairs perfectly with fresh greens and fish sauce with some funk. It is my favorite item here. Some have argued they also serve one of the best bo ne (#3), the Vietnamese version of steak and eggs served in a skillet. The chunks of beef are nice and tender with just a tad of char, served with two fried eggs, and a banh mi baguette with a mix of butter and spare. Normally I think of spam or sausage included with the meats, but Chef Cuong's spin is with cherry tomatoes. It's a different approach and I'm not mad at it. Folks not looking for this can shoot for bo luc lac, aka shaking beef, which is also recommended. The staff here is sweet, hard-working, and very friendly. They also make a mean Vietnamese coffee and offer free iced self-serve water. The prices are what I would expect in a Midtown food hall, and there's plenty of seating. Anyone checking out the food hall need to make Xeo Yum as part of their eating itinerary. __________ (#1) A play on the Vietnamese sizzling crepe, Banh "xeo" and yum" (#2) Previously the Conservatory and now Stestí Food Hall. They had nice flavor, but there just wasn't anything "special." 3.5* Then it was on to the crawfish, and my oh my. Superb, the flavor is delicious and unique. This more than made up for the noodles dish. The potato and corn was good too. Service - 5* Solid. When I first arrived the owner was quietly reading a newspaper and eating his own lunch. He paused to greet me and advised that I could sit anywhere. He provided water and adequate time to determine what I wanted to order. The food came out quickly and he checked in a few times to make sure everything was ok. As time went by, the crowd of folks showing up increased quite a bit and he still managed to check in on tables consistently. Pricing - 4* This is where it was odd. Always subjective but I found the noodles to be overpriced for not only the size but what I felt was a pretty simple dish. The crawfish on the other hand was priced very competitively and made up for the overpriced noodles. I provided pics of the menu for someone to make their own assessment but in general I thought many of the dishes were pricier than they probably should be. Everyone was friendly and attentive. My glass of water was always full. We ordered a standard large pho with 4 meats. At first I thought the broth looked a little light, but overall it was delicious. Grilled pork vermicelli with egg roll was amazing as expected. And lastly the pan fried noodle seafood plate was a hit. Everything we ordered and ate was great and we devoured it all. I will say that Huynh's is pricey, so don't think this is like cheap Asian takeout. It's quite nice in terms of ambiance despite the tight parking and surrounding businesses being a bit dingy. Enjoy!

My kids were on a mission to find a great-tasting bowl of pho, so we came across Old Saigon. And…read morewith a name like that, it has to taste homemade, right? The restaurant was easy to find, right off Main Street, and parking was a breeze. When we walked in, the restaurant had a modern look with a beautiful mural celebrating the homeland. We were greeted and told to sit wherever we'd like, so we picked a table and settled in. Our server came by with the menus, napkins, utensils, and plates, all neatly stacked, and then gave us some time before coming back to take our order. We ordered several different bowls of pho so everyone could try something -- salmon, steak and meatballs, and the combo (đặc biệt). Of course, we also had to try their dry pho. We also noticed they had a mango salad with a choice of protein, and since that sounded intriguing, we decided to give that a try too. The mango salad came out first, and I'm honestly still not quite sure how I feel about it. The mango was tart, and there was a creamy element that gave the salad an interesting texture and flavor. I did really like the grilled shrimp, though. Out of the protein options, I'd recommend the shrimp with this salad, although I could also see chicken pairing well with the flavors. Then came the pho. We tried several different broths, and they were all flavorful on their own. I didn't feel like they needed anything added unless you prefer extra spice or seasoning. I also really appreciated how generous they were with the basil. There was plenty to go around, which is always a win when you're eating pho! As we finished up, our server came back to the table with our check and small spoons filled with what looked like crème brûlée. We asked her what it was, and she said she didn't know. We mentioned that it looked like crème brûlée, and she agreed before walking away. I'm not sure if this was something complimentary, a leftover from another dish, or something we were supposed to know about, but it was definitely an unexpected ending to the meal. If you know what this was, I'd love to know! Overall, we'd definitely come back. The food was great, the pho was flavorful, and there were plenty of options for everyone. The service could use a little improvement. Our server seemed to have some difficulty communicating in English, and we could have used a few water refills during the meal. Nothing major -- we probably just needed to speak up more. Good food, easy parking, a nice atmosphere, and a family-friendly menu. We'd come back to try more of what Old Saigon has to offer.

The spring rolls were pretty good, but nothing to write home about. The dipping sauce they packed for both the spring rolls and pork bowls had a faint flavor of something that could have had potential, but did not deliver. There was a small garnish of pickled onions and shredded carrot that went so well with the pork bowls. If they included more of that, the bowls would have been star status. But they didn't. And they weren't. Overall, I had a decent lunch. Maybe next time I'll dine in to see if that makes a difference.

The place is almost always busy proving the quality of the food and the kind attentive service from the staff. When you enter, I usually just a spot and I'm quickly spotted by a waiter. They take the order quickly and the food comes out relatively quickly and hot. The staff even call out the classic phrase "Nước sôi!" when they bring a hot dish out of the kitchen. This phrase translates to boiling water, but they do this for patron safety. I've ordered the Cơm chiên gà xối mỡ which is fried rice with crispy chicken. The rice and chicken are cooked perfectly and the rice has crunch bits made for it. The chicken also has two dipping sauces that come with it. 5/5 taste We have also had the Bánh Khọt which comes as separate small pancake style foods stuffed with shrimp and batter with a side if fresh vegetables and fish sauce. 5/5 taste They also have some refreshing drinks and soft drinks as well. The menu extensive, so there's definitely something for everyone. While the price might seem a little high at first glance, but the portion are generous and many dishes are made to share. The Bun Mam was packed with abundance of fresh seafood and it came with great noodle portion, enough to split the bowl between the table. The Banh Khot was perfectly crispy on the outside, while staying light and delicate on the inside. It paired great with their house-made kumquat dipping sauce. It was a little sweet for liking, but diluting with some water balanced it out nicely. I had a great experience and left impressed by both dishes I've tried. I'll definitely will be back to explore more of their menu, especially their variety of snail dishes which looked incredibly delicious.
