    Salt & Pepper Fish

I knew this place would be poppin' when I saw the 3.6 rating on Yelp (at the time of this review) with mostly non-Asian reviews, as well as seeing the owner doing paperwork on one of the dining tables - marks of a truly authentic Chinese restaurant. Do not sleep on the Sichuan food here (not the Chinese-American food)! Salt and pepper fish, eggplant & green bean, and Sichuan beef mala pot (very liquid-y but surprisingly good flavor) were all amazing. Chili oil dumplings had lots of filling, but I prefer thinner skins. Dan dan noodles were clumping together and didn't have peanuts so I don't recommend them. Dishes are about $10 per and portion sizes just about match; we got 3 entrees and 2 apps for 3 people and pretty much finished everything. Can't wait to come back!

Grabbed a boba at night and it's so delicious! I recommend this place if you're looking for something fresh to drink or eat!

I love Chinese food so I'm always on the lookout for Chinese restaurants with good reviews. I decided to order delivery Thursday night and found the $18 for hunan shrimp a little high but decided to order it anyway. I also ordered the beef fried rice as one reviewer mentioned their fried rice was really good. Unfortunately, I was thoroughly disappointed. The only veggies in my human shrimp were celery & bell peppers. There were no mushrooms, no baby corn, no carrots, and no greens whatsoever! Flavor was decent but their lack of vegetables while charging more than other restaurants felt like a bad joke. The $14 beef fried rice contained uncooked onion & was saturated in bean sprouts which I dislike and had not ordered if I was aware. The shrimp & beef quality was not the best either. The shrimp were very mushy, sadly this is a hard pass for me.

My wife and I enjoyed our visit. We shared a large bowl of wonton soup that was very good. The only drawback was the undersized spoons. We enjoyed some fried egg rolls. I like eating mine with some sweet sauce and Chinese mustard....they didn't have any Chinese mustard, they did have some chili sauce. The cheese puffs were good. The iced coffee drink was very good with boba.. The combination lo mein was tasty and huge. They're a little pricier than i'm used to. This is located where Hunan Hut used to be. They don't offer a lunch menu.

We have ordered to go and eaten in. The food has been consistently good. Spice levels are there and you should believe them. Decor is super cute and fun. Menu is simple but has all the classics. The drink menu is great too. Service was friendly, place was clean. Will def return.

I initially visited Yaya Ricebox to claim the Buy One Entree, Get One Free Boba/Fried Rice deal that was going on for their grand opening. I ordered the Chicken Lo Mein and received a free Vegetarian Fried Rice with my order. The lo mein was cooked well with plenty of vegetables and chicken, and the noodles overall were hearty and came as a large serving for a great price. Even though my fried rice was free and vegetarian, it was actually one of the best restaurant fried rice I've ever had! The rice texture was amazing and the flavor was strong but not overpowering. Both dishes were not too oily and they both make great take-out and dine-in options. However, as a boba lover myself, I do not recommend the boba milk tea at all. The drink itself was decent but it tasted very sugary and sweet. The tapioca pearls were not made well and tasted overcooked and way too soft; that was my least favorite part of my drink. I definitely think there can be improvement on the boba drinks here, but I have not tried any of their other drinks aside from this one. The cashier that served me was very straightforward but he was patient with me when I took time to order. A lady who I believe was an owner was hovering behind him the whole time and it did make me feel a bit tense while ordering, but I understand that you would want to carefully supervise your newly launched business to ensure everything runs smoothly. The interior was kept clean and tidy and there was plenty of space to sit.

Cute little bag that the food arrived in if you use Uber eats. Didn't have a chance to take a photo of the food, maybe next time.

First time I've ordered from this place. The menu has the typical Chinese food. We got the broccoli and beef and wonton . The wonton soup was perfect! The noodles were not overcooked, and the broth was not salty. My son got the beef and broccoli and it too was perfect. I love the little bag that the food arrived in since we did Uber eats. I'll definitely be using them again

Love this new local spot! Ordered vegan options of green beans + eggplant plus veg fried rice - all were delicious. Adorable ambiance, accommodating staff and overall great experience. Will be back often!

On my most recent visit we ordered mapo tofu with pork intestines off the specials menu - a hybrid of two of my favorite Sichuan-style dishes. The blend of bouncy, savory morsels amidst tender, saucy tofu was at once revolutionary and so obvious; why hadn't I yet seen this at any other restaurant? And sure, innards may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's important for you to know that none of my past orders from the 50+ item menu have ever failed me, whether enjoyed in the restaurant or at home. Maybe you'd prefer the aromatic, classic, perfectly balanced three-cup chicken? Or the sweet-skinned duck, glazed so delicately that specks of sugar crystal threaten to jump off onto the plate as you pick up a juicy slice with your chopsticks? And if you're vegetarian, might you consider the punchy garlic eggplant or the wok-kissed string beans? I could go on. Do yourself a favor and come see for yourself, though I'd recommend parallel parking on the neighborhood streets behind the restaurant rather than the rocky parking lot, to save you some trouble. Bring friends and chow down family style - you'll need help covering as much of the menu as you can, but you'll definitely have to come back to try everything.

Their service was great, and their extensive menu made it hard to decide what to order! There was definitely a numbing spice, but PERSONALLY not a fan of the addition of ginger, but this is purely personal preference, but something to keep in mind if it's not your favorite ingredient. 2) Eggplants in Spicy Garlic Sauce: (5/5) chefs kiss, you can't go wrong with this. I think we may have went on an off day because I have tried takeout form this place that was delicious, but on this day the food wasn't my favorite. We did overall enjoyed our experience and time and I would recommend giving this place a try! We ordered a total of 5 dishes and everything seemed very authentic to Sichuan cooking. With Sichuan cuisine though, a lot of the food will be on the oily side, so keep that in mind. - Eggplant In Spicy Sauce (5/5): Definitely order this dish! You can tell the eggplant was prepared well because it retained its beautiful purple color and luscious shape. The flavor was sweet and savory seeped well into the eggplant. My only comment would be that there wasn't a strong garlic flavor, but it was still so tasty I think it deserved that 5/5! - Mapo Tofu (2.5/5): I came here specifically for the mapo tofu but was left a bit disappointed. The flavor was pretty good and had that strong Sichuan pepper spice that lingers after a while. My issue with the tofu was the consistency of the sauce. I found it to be very thick and clumpy in an unpleasant way, almost like eating little gelatin pieces. I would probably come back to try it again just in case this was a bad batch, but it's hard to compete with wanna boa's mapo tofu. - Spicy and Crispy Chicken (4/5): Pretty juicy and crispy chicken with a slight kick. I love anything fried chicken so I did enjoy this dish but it was pretty standard and there wasn't much to write about. - Red Oil Dumplings (3/5): Pretty standard oil dumplings. They weren't really spicy which would be good for people who can't handle spice. I think I would've liked a bit more meat filling but overall not bad. - Dan Dan Noodles (3/5): I loved the texture of the noodles but I found the sauce to be kinda slippery which made it hard adhere to the noodles. I also thought the flavor could've been a bit stronger. Service/Ambiance: the interior of this place was super cute, especially the upstairs area. I loved the dim lighting and tiny table lamps which gave this place a cozy romantic feeling. The outside was also interesting with an all black exterior and no sign. That might make it hard to notice or find the restaurant, but that did give it a more hidden feeling which was nice. Parking was also abundant and service was great!
