I am so unhappy that it took me so long to stop by Lemongrass! I was really missing out. I could tell by how attentive the staff was to my party and me that the experience would be a good one and I was not mistaken. The staff were timely and friendly, with wonderful advice and recommendations when asked. The menu was extensive and extremely hard to pick from because everything looks so good. It was all right being indecisive as the interior was so beautiful. I love the use of glass and dark colors to add elegance, yet also somehow a fun vibe. I ordered the duck noodle soup and immediately fell in love. The broth was rich and had a lingering and delicate flavor that perfectly complemented the succulent duck. The addition of the bok choy and egg elevated the dish even more. I plan on returning to try more of those menu items soon! read more

This cute neighborhood joint is friendly and a convenient place for some Asian food! Many of their dishes are fusion/Americanized (i.e. may not be the flavors you're expecting), so they may not satisfy if you're craving a specific flavor. We ordered pad thai, chicken curry, and the seafood clay pot. The chicken curry was flavorful and hit the spot, and I really liked the doughy "roti," which was more like a Chinese green onion pancake in texture (still very tasty!). The pad Thai bad an almost an artificial sugar taste that was a bit weird. And the seafood in the clay pot was slightly over cooked and tasted heavily of Chinese black bean sauce-- not a very exciting flavor profile for me but may be for others. I'd definitely choose the chicken curry out of these! Service was very friendly and the place is clean. Nice place for a family dinner or a GNO. Family favorites include the Chicken Tom Yum Soup, Chicken Milanaise, and the Massaman Chicken Curry. Definitely get an order of hot rolls. The Chicken Tom Yum Soup is full of mushrooms. Enoki, wood-ear, and button mushrooms in a delicious broth seasoned with lemongrass and kaffir limes. So savory! The Massaman Chicken Curry is unique. Tender chicken leg in a curry filled with large pieces of carrots, zucchini, onions and tomatoes. It is served with a warm scallion roti. Delicious! The Chicken Milanaise is also a good choice for an entree. It is served with a salad or vegetables. Service is good. Plenty of parking is available. read more

No idea why I haven't ever written a review for lemongrass. This is easily one of my favorite places in the area. Been visiting since I moved to the area in ~2012. Food and service are always excellent. As we've had our kiddo, I really appreciate Chef Fah's menu for the littles. Honestly, I like the kids menu stuff too , it really is good. One of my favorite menu items is the Chicken Milanese - I love the salad and dressing that are part of it. The Thai tea is also great and the little breads are definitely worth having (really, I could eat my weight in those things). The soups are excellent as starters. Really, I don't have a bad thing to say, I love coming here and have enjoyed everything on the menu - lunch included. read more

This place is across the parking garage from my house but I don't think I'd ever been there. The Massaman chicken curry was quite good with a nice spiced flavor. I subbed zucchini (I think) for snap peas which came in a separate container - I think they used a bit too much oil on them... The shall I say preparation of the "fillings" of the curry was also "interesting." It certainly had carrots and chicken, but as you can see they were huge chunks of carrot and a whole drumstick. The tomato was nowhere to be found, but it seems out of place in a curry anyway imo. Keep in mind this comes with roti so it does not have rice, I added that at home. My mom got the seafood clay pot. It seemed like there wasn't that much seafood though, I think 5 mussels total? read more

This was my first visit with my friend who's a regular. Everything in the menu sounds tasty so I hard time picking one item. As an appetizer we had the little knot rolls which were great. Their cocktails are also very good. I had the lemon drop and the lychee martini. I was pleased that it had three lychees! For dinner I had the shrimp and scallops. It was a little low on scallops but it was a good dish. I also got dumplings to go, which I was surprised had a little bit of a kick. Lemongrass is a quaint little place that has significantly improved throughout the years. Its menu has also improved considerably, and its contents are enticing. These days, my family and I enjoy the service from José, Pam, Lynn, and their newest manager, April, who make our visit to Lemongrass extremely comfortable and pleasant. OMG.....so tasty! I didn't know what I wanted for lunch and Yelp suggested this place. Amazing choice. I started with the Thai ceviche which was delicious! Very lemony with lots of shrimp, calamari, and red bell peppers. I'll order that again! My entree was the Massaman chicken curry. Once again the flavors were deep and comforting. Lemongrass would have been a solid 5 stars, if it weren't for one major mishap. First the positives. Beautiful lotus decor and I loved the high end feel of the bathroom (hand towels and a defuser). It's a small restaurant but has an intimate feel. The food was amazing! They start off with a fried green onion bun with oil dip. Very unique to the Asian theme. I ordered the mushroom consume and it was delicious with a single mushroom raviolli in the middle. The Jasmine green tea with milk had a subtle flavor that reminded me of Thai tea but a more fragrant taste. And I was very surprised to see lamb shank on the menu. The tenderness rivaled medditerranien restaurants I've been to and I loved the addition of the soba on the side and the brussel sprouts and bokchoy. Now we come to the not so good part. My friend is a vegetarian and at first wanted to order the vegetable napoliton, but they were out. So she settled for the pad Thai with tofu and the waiter confirmed that it was a vegetarian dish. When the dish came out, she assumed it was tofu and started eating. A few bites in, she discovered it was chicken! Luckily my friend is very nice and didn't make a big deal out of it and the waiter made her a new meal promptly. But what if this had been peanuts or some other food she was highly allergic to? More care should have been taken with her dish and at the very least they should have taken it off her bill (which they didn't). I was upset on her behalf as the waiter clearly understood she was vegetarian. This could have been a simple mistake, but I wish Lemongrass did more on their end to rectify and apologize. In the end, the food and atmosphere was still amazing, but they need to pay more attention to what their customers order. read more

Lemongrass isn't the restaurant it used to be. It was one of our go-to restaurants for a fine, reasonably priced meal served by an attentive staff. The restaurant seems to have lost its well-trained waitstaff. On our latest visit, orders were taken and food was delivered while staff rushed past our table. To show you how little they were paying attention, they first gave us kids' menus instead of the full dinner menu. Afterward, we had to hunt down our waiter for the bill. We could have easily walked out and they probably wouldn't have noticed. Something changed in the kitchen, too. The shrimp and scallops were overcooked and flavorless. The pan-fried dumplings were extremely salty. On the other hand, my wife's salmon on cedar was delicious. It's also disappointing that the restaurant now charges for the little rolls that used to be served upon arrival. With entrees priced at $25-35, this seems like a petty fee. We don't know if management or ownership has changed in the last year. But this restaurant isn't what it used to be. read more

Highly recommend the plantain chips and summer roll for the appetizer! The dipping sauce for the plantain chips was so good!! A nice little sweetness to compliment the chip. Also loved the peanut sauce that came with the summer rolls. For your entree I recommend the Roasted Five Spice Duck and Pad Thai!! So much flavor in these dishes! The presentation is also beautiful. I decided to get a side of roti but I would pass on that next time as it was a little hard/stale (maybe not the right word to use, but it wasn't flaky and soft like roti I've had in the past). I have been at Lemongrass Cafe a few times but this was the first time at the new location. The menu had changed but the quality of ingredient was as good as before. The dish that was most outstanding from this last visit was the sticky rice with mango. I haven't had that good of the sticky rice with mango since I was in Thailand. The sticky rice was one of the best anywhere in the world Thailand or the US. The mango was hand-picked to almost perfection. read more

A few folks and I visited the restaurant not to long ago for dinner. Located in a newer and upcoming part of Bellaire City, Lemongrass serves as an integral part of the municipal movement. We were seated in a booth that felt a bit small for me. Not that us 4 people were crammed into the booth, but we could have used more room. Our party ended up ordering a variety of dishes such as the Lemongrass pizza, chicken curry and I ordered the Siam Beef Lime Salad. For appetizer, we got the sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries portion is roughly the size of my fist. For $5 dollars, I expect a lot more. The food came up relatively quickly and served up hot. My dish tasted overly sour, yet appropriate on the heat and pretty flavorful. However my only gripe is that the portion size was more reminiscent of an appetizer portion. The lemongrass pizza was pretty delicious, but you can definitely taste the lemonpepper seasoning on it. Overall, Lemongrass Cafe is a well lit and manicured facility. They do observe a lot of the covid-19 precautions and I really do understand why people love this place. However with my personal experience, the prices were a bit too steep for what the portion of the food we received. I had a decent experience at Lemongrass cafe, just not a memorable one. read more

After hearing great things about this place a few times within a year, I decided to make a trip here earlier tonight. I ordered the Massaman Curry with a side of white sticky rice. It was very delicious and exotic with well balanced aromas n spices. When it comes to this particular curry, this is the best one I have had since Thai Gourmet closed. The gravy was sweet and savory to the right levels with great overall flavor. It was a bit soupier than I thought this curry would be, but excellent anyway. The big chicken drumstick was very well cooked, juicy and tender. The cherry tomatoes, carrots, onions and zucchini were all very well cooked and tasty in the mix like the chicken. The dinner order comes with a very tasty, flaky, buttery piece of roti which paired well with the curry, but I also love rice, so I paid a few bucks for that too. The service was great, efficient and friendly from all the employees. I plan to order the Lamb Shank Meal and one of their delightful looking chocolate cakes behind the glass on my next visit here. Took my best friend out for lunch to celebrate her birthday. We started with an appetizer of sweet potato fries with creamy jalapeño sauce. They were crisp, fresh and delicious! The jalapeño sauce was just the right balance of spicy and creamy to compliment the sweet fries. We also had the Thai ice tea and the Jasmine matcha tea. Both served cold and absolutely amazing! Our Gorgonzola salad was next. Warm pears with Gorgonzola cheese on a plate of fresh greens and walnuts. We were happy campers!! We ordered the pad Thai and the vegetable Napoleon to share The Napoleon completely outshone the pad Thai. Where the Napoleon was hot and tasty, the pad Thai was cool and bland. What a great experience! I made a reservation for 5 online and received a call back from a pleasant female to confirm. The restaurant is small, cozy and clean located in a strip center with ample parking. Upon arrival we were met with smiling faces and seated at our preset table. Although it is not shown on the website we were delighted to see there was a full bar and a good selection of wines. Our server was Lynn and she was great! We had the Curry Crab Firecrackers and the Pan Fried Dumplings for starters--delish. All five of us ordered different entrées. We had Clay Pot, Duck, Salmon, Shrimp and Scallops, and Pad Thai--everyone said their selection was excellent. We had Creme Brûlée and Sticky Rice with Mangoes--more winners. I wish I could describe better how wonderful this little restaurant is. We will go back again and again! read more

On my lunch break, I was Yelp'ing nearby Thai restaurants and decided on Lemongrass Cafe. Unbeknownst to me, they reopened just a few days ago and have moved to another location next door. The interior decor is just so picturesque and pretty! (All of the chandeliers, SAH CUATE.) Ambience was relaxing and music was wonderful. French music was playing by two of my favorite artists: Françoise Hardy and Madeleine Peyroux. During this time of the day, I was the only customer in the restaurant so I thought to myself, "What a perfect opportunity to snap and share a ton of photos for my fellow Yelpers." ;) My eyes (and growling stomach) first became fixated on the Agedashi Tofu Provolone Wrap, but the waiter suggested the Sesame Chicken Milanaise which is 'a pan-fried panko-crusted tender chicken with an organic salad and lemon beurre blanc sauce'. I loved the colorful salad with its flavorful, citrus dressing whereas I thought the chicken had too mild of a taste. Regardless I still finished it lol. At the end of my lunch, the waiter asked me if I would like coffee but if you know me, you know I love my tea. He brought out a box of tea and I chose the Ginger Twist from Mighty Leaf. It was a nice finish to a good meal, but I thought it was a little pricey for a stitched tea bag. All things considered, I would return to try something different and also bring my friends and family because I think the menu offers a variety of options from vegan, spicy, gluten-free to even this Kobe Beef Burger that might sound very appealing for some meat lovers.
