This cute neighborhood joint is friendly and a convenient place for some Asian food! Many of their dishes are fusion/Americanized (i.e. may not be the flavors you're expecting), so they may not satisfy if you're craving a specific flavor. We ordered pad thai, chicken curry, and the seafood clay pot. The chicken curry was flavorful and hit the spot, and I really liked the doughy "roti," which was more like a Chinese green onion pancake in texture (still very tasty!). The pad Thai bad an almost an artificial sugar taste that was a bit weird. And the seafood in the clay pot was slightly over cooked and tasted heavily of Chinese black bean sauce-- not a very exciting flavor profile for me but may be for others. I'd definitely choose the chicken curry out of these! Service was very friendly and the place is clean. They have a whole pastry case of cakes and desserts! :D if you're in the area, check them out for a comfortable, chill meal :)

Nice place for a family dinner or a GNO. Family favorites include the Chicken Tom Yum Soup, Chicken Milanaise, and the Massaman Chicken Curry. Definitely get an order of hot rolls. The Chicken Tom Yum Soup is full of mushrooms. Enoki, wood-ear, and button mushrooms in a delicious broth seasoned with lemongrass and kaffir limes. So savory! The Massaman Chicken Curry is unique. Tender chicken leg in a curry filled with large pieces of carrots, zucchini, onions and tomatoes. It is served with a warm scallion roti. Delicious! The Chicken Milanaise is also a good choice for an entree. It is served with a salad or vegetables. Service is good. Plenty of parking is available.

I have been wanting to visit this place since they opened around the pandemic. While they have a really good ambiance, their food just doesn't make the cut for something I'd recommend. Service quite decent, just the food needs to get better! I'd pick Thai Cottage (across the street) over this for my Thai food fix.

This place is such a gem We've eaten here twice now but it's def a favorite when we are in Houston The food is very fresh and always served very elegantly Last night we got a piece of tuxedo cake to go snd it was delicious We highly recommend you give this place a try, you won't be disappointed

We stopped in for a small Ghosh, pork skiers and twelve pan fried dumplings and a hot cappuccino...all done very well. We will be back for more....

Massaman chicken curry (subbed snap peas), rice not included

This place is across the parking garage from my house but I don't think I'd ever been there. The Massaman chicken curry was quite good with a nice spiced flavor. I subbed zucchini (I think) for snap peas which came in a separate container - I think they used a bit too much oil on them... The shall I say preparation of the "fillings" of the curry was also "interesting." It certainly had carrots and chicken, but as you can see they were huge chunks of carrot and a whole drumstick. The tomato was nowhere to be found, but it seems out of place in a curry anyway imo. Keep in mind this comes with roti so it does not have rice, I added that at home. My mom got the seafood clay pot. It seemed like there wasn't that much seafood though, I think 5 mussels total?

This was my first visit with my friend who's a regular. Everything in the menu sounds tasty so I hard time picking one item. As an appetizer we had the little knot rolls which were great. Their cocktails are also very good. I had the lemon drop and the lychee martini. I was pleased that it had three lychees! For dinner I had the shrimp and scallops. It was a little low on scallops but it was a good dish. I also got dumplings to go, which I was surprised had a little bit of a kick. I would definitely come back to try some of the other menu items.

What a delightful magnificent restaurant. The food has So many spices that explode in your mouth. Everything is fresh and served beautifully. Service is impeccable. I can't find one thing wrong here. This is my third time to dine here this week. The deserts are devoon!!! The lemon berry cake, ginger crème brûlée, butter cake with ice cream, etc. The restaurant itself is spotless and no weird Clorox smells. I don't think I'll ever cook again.

    Thai ceviche.....delicious

OMG.....so tasty! I didn't know what I wanted for lunch and Yelp suggested this place. Amazing choice. I started with the Thai ceviche which was delicious! Very lemony with lots of shrimp, calamari, and red bell peppers. I'll order that again! My entree was the Massaman chicken curry. Once again the flavors were deep and comforting. The grilled squash was cooked to perfection! Not served with rice (not missed), but instead with a scallion roti, nice surprise. The menu seems limited but I will come back and try other dishes. I'll still get the ceviche, though!

Great little lunch spot in Bellaire! Very low key with delicious food and great service. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in and enjoying a refreshing matcha milk tea. We started off with the Thai ceviche that had a really nice kick to it. Then for entrees we ordered the trout and beef satay. Both were delicious, but the trout was definitely my favorite!

We ordered 3 baos: Korean chicken, bulgogi, and pork belly. The Korean chicken tasted like frozen chicken tender/patty with gochujang sauce on it. The bulgogi was like minced meat. Flavor-wise, it was better out of the 3, not too sweet, but the texture threw me off. The pork belly was thickly cut however it was dry and not tender which made it hard to eat. We also tried the viral crab rangoon burrito. It was heavily filled with cream cheese and not much crab. You definitely need to dip the sauce to pair with the creaminess, otherwise you would not taste anything besides fried cream cheese. Overall, I will say that this is not for me. The mapo tofu is one of the best we've had outside of Bellaire with spicy, savory, numbing, and warmth that you expect from a good mapo tofu. Crispy popcorn chicken is a classic that's spicy, lightly fried, and crisp. It has an authenticity that other places around can't replicate and makes you keep craving more. The portions are also appropriate for their price. Service is incredibly quick, and you can order as you go and receive your dish within 10-15 minutes, regardless of how busy they are. As for the ambiance, it's loud, it's hectic, and it's simple... maybe a stretch, but makes me feel like I'm eating at a mom and pop shop in the heart of China. The Scallion Pancake was super over-fried and oily. See image in my review. The outer parts of the pancake were fried to a crisp and only a small circumference in the center stayed chewy. I know Chinese tends to be oily but this pancake soaked up way too much oil. Half a Peking duck: super great price for so much meat. The difficulty when eating this dish is gnawing the meat off the sharp bones of the duck. Mapo Tofu with white rice: pretty easy staple, no complaints here. I arrived about 20 minutes before opening and had to wait outside in Houston's summer heat 93'F. While there are a few benches, there is very little shade, and guests are not allowed to wait inside. When the restaurant opened, there was no clear system for seating guests. Even though I was first in line, several people rushed in ahead of me, making the process feel disorganized. The biggest issue involved a $300 gift card that my friend had received years ago. She simply asked the staff to check the balance. When the server returned, he told us the manager had cut the card in half and that the entire balance had to be used during that visit. What bothered me was the lack of communication. We were never informed of the policy before the card was invalidated. If that is the restaurant's policy, it should be explained clearly beforehand. As two ladies having lunch, spending $300 was difficult, so we ended up ordering far more food than we normally would. The sashimi was fresh but cut thinly than what I've had at comparable restaurants. The hamachi kama, chirashi, and lobster mac and cheese were good. The green tea soufflé cheesecake was the biggest disappointment. For $10, it consisted of three very small cubes and felt overpriced. The waitstaff were attentive, friendly and professional, which helped salvage the experience. However, between the uncomfortable wait outside, the chaotic seating process, and the poor handling of the gift card, this visit did not live up to my previous experiences. While I have many good memories of Kata Robata, I'm not sure I'll be returning anytime soon.

As for the entree, I ordered the Khao Soi with shrimp and my friend ordered the spicy red snapper. We came right when they opened and got seated right away. The restaurant itself isn't super big so reservations is recommended. The nachos had an asian flavor which we enjoyed. It had a lot of flavor but wasn't overwhelming. It had brisket, queso, salsa, queso, and some really good chips. I killed it. The ribs were also really good. An order was 3 ribs and they had a lots of tender meat on the bone and delicious flavor. It was a special for the night but I recommend it if they have it. I love that their menu had a wide variety but a lot of the items are fusion and can't be found anywhere else. For instance, they had smoked pork & kimchi eggrolls, smoked banh mi (vietnamese sandwich), and pho-strami sando. It's BBQ with a twist. But do keep in mind they do not do sliced meats or meats by the pound. Their service was good but very slow. It took them awhile to take our order, food to come, and forever to pay. I've come across a few IG videos of Blood Bros., so when my Fourth of July date wanted BBQ, I knew we had to visit their restaurant. It was even featured on The Michelin Guide list, which made it an even more enticing choice. As I approached the entrance, I was impressed by the spacious and functional outdoor dining area that had ceilings fans and tvs around. As I entered the store and made my way to the counter, I was warmly greeted by friendly staff members. One of them was a meat carver, while the other was responsible for taking your side orders. Then right around the corner, the cashier took our drink orders and rang us up. Service was swift and prompt. We ordered: Beef Rib - Minimum order is 1lb ($44.25/lb). My date declared this dish the best out of everything that we ordered, praising it was moist and tender and gave it a 5/5 rating. Brisket - My date said the briskets had a big layer of fat yet the meat was lean and not very tender and would rate it 3/5. Potato Salad - Usually this is my favorite side but I was not a fan of Blood Bros'. Although it did have some contrasting textures to it, I thought the potato salad was more on the dry side and the dense potatoes made it unenjoyable. It was also too sweet for my liking. I would rate it 3/5. Cucumber Salad - The vibrant contrasting colors of green and red makes it look pretty but the taste is very bland and it had very little crunch to it. I would give this side a solid 1/5. Pimento Cheese and Firecrackers - This is the worst Pimento Cheese dip/spread I've had and the crackers were extremely salty. The cheese had a slight chemical aftertaste and an odd texture to it. I do not recommend ordering this dish and would give it a 1/5. The four slices of white bread that came with the meal were dry and more on the firm side despite being wrapped in clear plastic wrap. Note: There's a 3% surcharge added to all credit card payments.
