I ordered two tripa tacos and two lengua tacos and they were really good. The tripa could have been crunchier, but I can't complain. The lengua was perfectly soft and savory. I got the tacos with corn tortillas, onions & cilantro, and fresh limes. I dined in so they gave me a whole bottle of the red and green sauce. There's 3 different hot sauces at the table as well. My friend got a beef burrito and it tasted fantastic; even better than the tacos. It was really big and quite filling. The employees were super nice and they made the dining experience enjoyable. I will definitely be coming back.

Didn't have to wait at all for a table, and plenty of parking in the lot out front. Service was very speedy, and the staff was very friendly with a couple of kiddos in tow. Parilla mixta was plenty to share for 3, so I'd recommend snagging that if you want to try a variety of skillet seared options. Favorites were the beef fajitas and the bacon wrapped shrimp! Thought the veggies (onions, bell pepper, etc.) could've used a few more minutes, but overall it was great. Always recommend frijoles charros, and this was no exception. Love the homemade tortillas de harina, spicy salsa, and World Cup games on Telemundo! Appreciated all the decor and themes around the walls.

We visited early on a Friday and were seated immediately. Our waitress was friendly and stayed on top of things but was not intrusive. Our dinner arrived fast too. My husband and I shared beef fajitas, which were good-not as flavorful as we like, but good. Our drinks were also great and the bill arrived quickly. I think we were in and out in 40 minutes-it seemed fast but there was already a wait on Friday evening when we were leaving so it was good to clear the table. All in all a good visit!

This is only my second time here, but I'm originally from Chicago and finding authentic Mexican food, especially fresh corn tortillas, has been a struggle. I've now tried every flavor of their breakfast tacos, and today I got a torta and decided to risk the pumpkin spice horchata. I was skeptical, but zero regrets. It was so good. It's a food truck, so you park, order at the window, and when your food is ready they bring it directly to your car, which is a nice. The service has been great both times too. When I asked about the pumpkin spice horchata and admitted I wasn't sure I'd like it, he immediately told me he'd swap it for something else if I didn't. They're currently right across from the Cypress post office, which is actually how I found them the first time. If they ever move, I'll be following them wherever they go. Dramatic, but true.

Also she got my order wrong. I ordered a bacon egg and potato, and a potato egg and cheese. Somehow she swap one of the tacos for chorizo. The tacos are pretty good. If I was in the area I would probably stop again and try some of the lunch tacos. Maybe the beef or the Barbacoa are much better. The green sauces were decent. You get quite a bit of food per taco. 2 to 3 tacos will definitely fill you up. Service was OK, they are very fast. So if you were hungry or in a rush your food will come out quick. I guess I could say they're probably close to a four-star maybe. If the lady was a little bit nicer I would've probably give them four stars. Also if they would've messed up my order they probably would've got four stars. I will give them another chance

I guess I've also been inspired by Jarro Cafe's story. A taco truck whose tacos were so good they now have a restaurant behind it in addition to their truck. I'm hoping to find that diamond in the rough that can eventually add to that idea of the American Dream. A little complicated perhaps, but what can I say--I love fairy tales and narratives that movies are made of. A digression! I understand. Tía Maria folks. A seasoned veteran in Houston's abundant taco industry. I can't say how long they've been at this location in front a Food Town, but I know it's been at least 10 years. They must be doing something right? Wrong. They're just tacos. Nothing wrong with that, but why would I want to get mediocre tacos from a truck if they're just mediocre? Here's the skinny. Tía Maria serves up three types of meat only--so it made ordering easy. Chicarron--ah, what a massacred thing this Tía Maria taco is! It's gooey and just not very good. A soupy, atrocious affair. The Carne Asada has very little happening with seasoning. It's also a little on the dry side, but o.k. Edible. The al pastor is equally uncomplicated. I can certainly see why a place like El Jarro has a restaurant behind it's truck and Tía Maria remains pretty much unchanged. On to the next truck!
