I literally only had a few bites of my food and so did she before we decided it just wasn't going to be a good experience. We decided we would take the food to go to at least bring home to feed to the chickens. That was until a cockroach crawled up my leg. I immediately swatted my leg thinking it was a bug or something that got in, but seconds after I looked down I saw it crawling back up again. I swatted it off and got up immediately. Our server came over and asked what was wrong. I told her softly it was a roach. The other servers came to our table and just stood there staring at us and not saying a word. Three people just staring at us like deers in headlights. We didn't make a scene. Just asked for the check and I proceeded to sit back down and then the server asked me if we wanted our food to go. I said no. She then told us we could check out up front. As we walked up there she asked if we wanted to take the food to go again. I get why she asked twice because both of our plates were practically still full, but we had only taken a few bites of each of our plates before we lost our appetite. At no point during this experience were we asked if we were okay, offered a discount, or a comped meal for a literal cockroach crawling up my leg while dining at this establishment. We went in for a date night hoping to enjoy some good Mexican food, NOT to leave disgusted and unfulfilled. I paid $45 for this experience. I did not ask for a discount or a comped meal because that was and never is my intention when dining in at any establishment. I only felt it was fair given the food was awful, we barely ate our meals, didn't even take it to go, and I had a cockroach crawl on me. The only reason we gave it another shot was because a coworker recently hosted her birthday dinner here, which piqued my curiosity. I will admit, they've made noticeable improvements in both food quality and service, so our experience wasn't all bad. The Positives: From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the host, who informed us of a short fifteen-minute wait, very reasonable. The ambiance was pleasant, with clean tables and inviting decor. Our appetizers and drinks were flavorful and enjoyable. We were also promptly served complimentary chips, salsa, and charro beans, which was a nice touch. Our server, Tony, was polite and professional, though his approach felt a bit robotic. There was no real warmth or connection, which made the service feel transactional rather than welcoming. The Negatives: Here's where things went downhill. At these prices, there is absolutely no excuse for serving lukewarm food, especially when presentation and temperature are key selling points for a dish like fajitas. His pork chops were overcooked & tough. His veggies were also burned and his salad had brown pieces. My husband NEVER leaves food on his plate but he did here. That means he really did not like it.
