We were accidentally sat by an enormous 50 top and they were so loud (a lot of toddlers and teens mixed at the table by us, literally screaming and hopping around). My husband asked to be reseated and the hostess was so sweet and apologetic. She made us feel way comfortable about the move and then we also had a delightful server Marissa. The food was great and our guest who'd never been to LT had a great meal. TY to the staff who were very nice and hospitable. Not a lot of welcoming atmospheres in large restaurants these days. It was a great lunch and a super turn around for a rough start. Also it was hard to find your location bc the yelp address is wrong. Someone at corporate needs to google houston. Maybe ask for local help bc I didn't see this location on google either. That's a bad mistake bc people are driving thru and missing this location!! The only reason 4 stars is to get corporate moving on the address change. The map address you have is in Hempstead. That's FAR from cypress. "OVERPRICED, UNDERWHELMING, AND LUKEWARM, LITERALLY!" Despite my best efforts, and multiple promises to myself, to stay away due to poor service and subpar food, my husband and I found ourselves back at this establishment for dinner on a Saturday evening after years of avoiding it. The only reason we gave it another shot was because a coworker recently hosted her birthday dinner here, which piqued my curiosity. I will admit, they've made noticeable improvements in both food quality and service, so our experience wasn't all bad. The Positives: From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the host, who informed us of a short fifteen-minute wait, very reasonable. The ambiance was pleasant, with clean tables and inviting decor. Our appetizers and drinks were flavorful and enjoyable. We were also promptly served complimentary chips, salsa, and charro beans, which was a nice touch. Our server, Tony, was polite and professional, though his approach felt a bit robotic. There was no real warmth or connection, which made the service feel transactional rather than welcoming. The Negatives: Here's where things went downhill. Our appetizers and drinks took forever to arrive, so long, in fact, that I joked Christmas might come before our drinks did. When our main course, the $75 trio platter of shrimp, beef, and chicken fajitas, finally arrived, it was lukewarm at best and the chicken was brutally dry and overcooked. The biggest disappointment? While every other table around us was served sizzling, steaming fajitas, ours looked like it had taken a long, lifeless stroll through a graveyard before landing on our table. A cast iron skillet is supposed to retain heat, so why was our food barely warm? To make matters worse, there were barely any grilled onions served with our fajita platter. I don't know if it's just me, but I'm used to fajita platters being loaded with caramelized, flavorful grilled onions. Not this place, though. They gave us about four measly slices, essentially the equivalent of four lonely onion rings sliced in pieces. Talk about disappointment! To top it off, they forgot our side of black beans. Once we pointed it out, they brought them over, steaming hot, ironically enough. So they made sure our side of beans was piping hot, but not our pricey fajita platter? Make it make sense. For a total bill of $189, including tip, I expected better. At these prices, there is absolutely no excuse for serving lukewarm food, especially when presentation and temperature are key selling points for a dish like fajitas. Whether this was a kitchen issue or a lack of urgency from our server, I can't say, but if I were a server expecting a decent tip, I'd make sure my guests were receiving fresh, hot food. Final Verdict: Mediocre at best. This restaurant is held in high regard, yet our expectations were met with disappointment. I wouldn't recommend it, but if you're feeling adventurous, dine at your own risk. Parking is plentiful, the service is slow, and the food? Just okay. But the drinks are delicious. There are a million Tex Mex restaurants in the Houston area but Lupe is always my favorite. I just can't get enough of the beef fajitas-the limey marinade is so good. And Lupe's tortillas are the best. We go to the location on 290 often enough. This year, service hasn't been the best. On a recent Friday, we did the online wait-in-line but still had to wait about 20 minutes after the time mentioned when we got in line. Then the table we were led to wasn't bussed-so we waited while they did it. After being seated it was about 10 minutes before our waitress brought water and chips and took our drink order. However-once our order was finally taken, everything went smoothly, our fajitas were just as delicious as always. The margarita was great (and happy hour prices!) Parking had always been a challenge at this location but we noticed a new unpaved lot has opened adjacent to the usual parking area-this was much needed. The price with tip (2 alcohol drinks/1virgin specialty drink..beef fajitas for 2 and 1 order of chicken quesadillas) was a whopping $143. Expensive for a mediocre service. Lupe Tortilla is certainly a popular find for locals. The parking lot is regularly swimming with cars, and the entry often bustling with the energy to match. If you prefer quiet, intimate, dining experiences, this is not your spot. I found myself ordering here not once, but thrice, for one specific item...grilled chicken. I try my best to eat healthy, but we all know how that is. Properly grilled chicken with a veggie is my tried and true go to, and you guessed it, Lupe Tortilla has a really flavorful, succulent grilled chicken. With every order I add queso because, why not, and it's satisfying for what it is. The only thing I'm not quite a fan of is the staff coordination. We started with margaritas on the rocks with salt. The waiter brought our margaritas plus a separate container with more margarita in it (see the picture). The price per margarita was $11.95 which included the extra amount. The margarita was really smooth and tasted so gooood. Then we ordered an appetizer, the table side guacamole. We enjoyed watching our waiter make our fresh guacamole. The guacamole tasted delicious. I couldn't leave without getting an order of the beef fajitas. They came out piping hot. The fajitas were very tender and they had a delicious lime taste to them. I couldn't finish them. The great news I get to have them again tomorrow. We started with queso and guac, both perfect. We ordered the family style fajitas and they did not disappoint. We ended our meal with a shared Tres Leches. I took away one star for service. Our waiter did not appear to have a full section but seemed overloaded. I mentioned the vent above us was dripping on me and he replied it's just water. I will say this last time I ordered online at 11 am and selected online pickup for noon, I arrived at Lupe's around 11:45ish and checked in. I didn't get my order until 12:30ish. A lady who arrived after me got her order before I did even though I had to go in and check with the to go desk three times for my order. They ended up rushing that they gave me a regular sized queso when I ordered a large. On a Friday evening, this restaurant had plenty of open tables but they were incredibly short staffed. We were told to wait for 45 minutes. I calculated that it would probably take another hour before we ordered, got our food, and actually ate once we were seated. There wasn't anyone at the front to help put your name/number down on the list because the lady was helping the waiters. That's how bad it was. It was very unorganized and there were lots of disgruntled people waiting. Loud and busy ambiance. Not an ideal place for kids. My party decided that the wait wasn't worth it so we went to In-and-Out... which was literally less than 2 minutes away. It's across the parking lot. Avoid this Cypress location if you're looking for Tex-Mexican food. Don't come hungry if you do choose to come here. You WILL BE hangry. You have been warned. Expect to wait. The prices for their famous fajitas would cost an arm and a leg too. I voted one star, because I had experienced the taste of their fajitas before at a birthday party and I was craving some tonight. I remember that the freshly made tortilla and beef fajitas were delicious from that experience. We used to go to Alicia's Mexican Grille, but they recently increased their prices but decreased their quality of food. Second time at this location, only this time we dined in. The food is always delicious, it just didn't taste as freshly prepared as it usually does. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking the deliciousness of both our meals, it just seemed like several things had been sitting out for awhile. I have to admit that Lupe Tortilla, while they have great flour and corn tortillas, it is not my favorite Tex-Mex restaurant. The food isn't bad, but over the years the portion size has shrunk and the price has increased. In fact, there was a time when I remember the steak Lupe almost being the size of the plate. My wife and I could share it and both be full. Now, it's barely half the size and almost twice the price. On this visit we knew it was going to get packed quick because it was a Saturday evening so we got there a little early, around 5pm. When we got to the host stand we we told that we would have to wait for a booth, even though there was an open booth right behind the hostess. For this being our first time at this location, we were afraid that this would be the start of a frustrating evening. After a few minutes of confusion and a slight attitude from the hostess, a gentlemen (not sure if he was a manager) came to our rescue and quickly and politely sat us at the open booth I mentioned previously. Once seated at our table, our waitress came by and greeted us and took our order. While everything didn't come out at the same time, our kiddos food came out first, which is always a plus. Our food arrived a few minutes after and it was all very delicious. My wife ordered the Steak Lupe, as usual. I had the Pepper Shrimp. As I mentioned, they were both great. Our waitress was very nice. I only wish I could remember her name so that I could give her a shout out here. I would like to mention that my kids were kind of disappointed because there was no play area at this location. It also looks like it's much larger inside than the Katy location, which is the location we normally visit. The decor and ambiance was pretty standard. All in all, my biggest complaint it the portion size and the price. Two adult meals, two kids meals, one order of queso, and one margarita was a few cents under $100! While the food was good, I've definitely had better at smaller restaurants with bigger portions and lower prices. Probably wont be back here for a while. read more

Wow!!! I thought I was a die-hard fan of Lupe Tortilla's but after visiting this location, I see not all Lupe's are created equal. I was generous enough to give two stars (one for bar drinks and the other for customer service from Caroline). Food was awful. Dried out, overcooked, and orders inaccurate and not ever corrected. Caroline tried to make things better but she can't help if the cook is overcooking everything. A manager should really taste some of the menu items to see what customers are being served and appropriate trainings for the cooks should follow. We're moving to the area soon and I was super excited we have a Lupe so close but I will not be returning any time soon as long as they're operating like this. read more

Although this location is a little hard to get to (not easy to see from 290), the quality of the food was well worth it. The seasoning was so much better than what one usually finds in this area. If you are sensitive to noise, this might not be a good fit for you, as it's crowded and all the tile makes it noisy. I had a terrible experience with the Lupe Tortilla Fairfield Cypress location. I placed and paid for a to-go order at 12 PM for a 6:15 PM pickup. When I arrived, all the to-go parking spots were full. I followed their instructions and texted the number to let them know I was there, then waited 20 minutes with no response. I finally called the restaurant, and the woman who answered apologized but still didn't resolve the issue. I ended up having to go inside--in my house slippers--only to find out that my order was never even placed! While they gave me a pint of queso for free, it doesn't make up for the inconvenience and lack of organization. I expected much better service, especially for an order placed hours in advance. My mother is a loyal customer of Alicia's, but since we were running errands in the area, I wanted her to give Lupe Tortilla a try. She'd never been to any of their locations, and guess what? She liked the experience. For her to praise their salsa is a big deal because she is *the* best cook. For those new to Lupe T, complimentary starters include their thin tortilla chips, salsa, and frijoles. Slow down, because you will fill up on those. I ordered the grilled fish puffy tacos, and mom tried and liked their tortilla soup. The rice was okay, and I couldn't try the side of beans because they had pork in them (wish I asked beforehand). But my michelada was good - it looked a lot more spicy than it actually was. Note, they do serve breakfast every day and weekend brunch til 2pm. For the meat eaters, fajitas are their fan favorite, along with their large, thing and fresh made flour tortillas. Our server Natalie was top-notch, and even a manager made his rounds to check on guests on this busy Sunday afternoon. They do have patio seating, brunch, QR menus, social distancing, staff wears masks and masks are required. I came in today with my sister, and this is what you call FANTASTIC hospitality! I was politely greeted and promptly moved to my table. I had the chicken fajitas off their lunch menu, my sister ordered a chicken burrito, and my step-mom had the carne asada tacos. The chips were nicely fried and seasoned! The salsas were also really good! Queso was quite runny but had a good taste to it. Our food came out pretty quick, and it was really warm too! The place was very clean too. Our waiter, Alfredo, was awesome!!!! He was very attentive and always made sure that we were doing well. He even spoke Spanish to my step-mom and reassured her when she had any questions. This is not enough food for three people. Maybe the skimped is! Management can you look at my pic and tell me if we were skimped. The reason they get five stars is because Lupe makes some excellent Tex Mex. I take mY clients and colleagues there whenever given the chance. I will admit though the portion size was tiny! I've heard a lot about this restaurant , decided to give it a try and i was not entirely disappointed :) Walked in on a sunday and only waited about 10min , immediately had my server asking me what i needed , very fast service , especially for a weekend. The food. Do not waste your money on the queso unless you eat at these tex-mex restaurants all the time and don't mind the WATERY QUESO . I had about 5 chips with the cold / barely luke-warm cheese and i was done with it lol. However , the half order of fajitas & chicken were very good!! Amazing beef fajitas , some of the best i've ever had!!! Wonderful flavor and beautiful color. The flour tortillas are unquestionably good! Being from The Valley / Brownsville , Homemade flour tortillas have a special place in my heart. These definitely were up to par. The rice was also well spiced and fairly good. Charro beans could've been hotter in temperature. Temperature is a big key in food. Take notes. I have never ate here before. My husband and I went to a seminar here and we were served combo fajitas with all the fixings and Chile com queso. The tortillas are homemade and huge. The fajitas were so tender! Cooked perfectly! We normally don't get chicken but I am so glad we did. I don't know which one I like better; the beef or chicken. The beans were delicious as well. I did not try the rice(can't-tomatoes) Hubby liked it though. They also have some kind of bean dip they served us with our chips and hot sauce. My husband said it was good too.
