Visited Arandas in Cypress on Huffmeister for a quick breakfast and it was great! Enjoyed eggs and sausage and we also tried their omelet. Price was perfect and the service was excellent! I didn't get to check the restrooms but I assume there's only a baby changer in the women's. The place has changed a lot since I last visited the building. Before, it was a home style American restaurant and now it's taqueria arandas! The food was pretty good. The 2 person fajita portion seemed a little small but maybe it was the platter that made it look small. The tortillas were not my favorite. Both the corn and flour tortillas were very thin. The flour tortillas were not made in house, and if they were they were the thinnest homemade tortillas I ever did see. One person at the table had a fajita torta and they said it was tasty. The fajita/parrillada plate came with charro beans (soup), a serving of ensalada (diced jalapeños, shredded lettuce) and a serving of rice. The rice was a little more moist than I'm used to but the flavor was alright. They do have delicious aguas frescas! Horchata (a sweet rice milk; it is not milk thick nor a shake), piña (pineapple), Jamaica (a sweet fruit), and sometimes watermelon. The piña was really good and the horchata was really yummy. I would go back. The service was pretty good. The green salsa is HOT but has great taste. We will return. read more

This place serves decent Mexican food. We tried the tacos al carbon and the combination plate. The food quality was good. Kinda average for Mexican restaurants in Texas. The one item I will continue to come back for is their spicy green sauce. That is delicious and elevated all of the food. I'll be back for the sauce! read more

I love this place. I always come here with my partner & the quesasalidas, tacos, everything on the meal is so delicious!!!!. The restaurant is very clean, cozy and has that hint of Mexican culture. We ordered chile con queso And just by the smell projecting off of the cheese it was terrible! We initially thought the cheese went bad but it was actually severely burnt in the pot. We told the waitress and she took it back. But it was still not the best queso. Then I received my taco salad and there was something very off with the chicken. The shell it came in was very soft and tasted cold. I would never come back to this location again. The whole experience was not good. read more

Jalisco Mexican Food! I really liked this place! This place is on point! They have a wide variety of Mexican dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I opted for the omelette, filled with chorrizo- delish! They had a spicy green sauce that was hot and delicious! It was spicy and hit all the right notes. Their red sauce was a bit more on the milder side and less runny. The chiliquiles looked incredible- no eggs, with a side of fajita meat. They served up a spicy hot ranchero sauce on the side, which wasn't as good as the green sauce. The decor was centered around a town in Jalisco, with lots of pictures of the church and the town. On the way out, I picked up the first issue of the taco magazine that this restaurant publishes- it was a quite substantial magazine filled with a word search and articles (all in Spanish) about the founder and how he immigrated from Mexico to Chicago, and down to Houston, where he moved up from a single food truck to a chain of brick and mortar taquerias all across Houston! They have a small little kiddie table in the corner, if needed. read more

Ordered a California burrito and told the girl no cheese and sour cream. Called and told the girl and she told me she wanted me to bring the burrito back for credit I threw it in the trash but took a picture of them. Can't dig in the trash can't bend over just had surgery it's sad. How they screw up your order and talk to you crazy. Girl called me a liar it's terrible customer service. I'm allergic to dairy. I've been here a couple of times since they opened up in the neighborhood and I've yet to have a bad experience. The food always tastes fresh, the service is good, and the price is right. Some of the highlights: Breakfast tacos for those slightly hungover mornings :-p. Any taco with your choice of protein is always a good go-to, and especially delicious with the homemade tortilla upgrade. The gorditas and tostadas are always on point. Any style of Torta is always a great option, the bread is always crispy, the filling always fresh, order up a side of charro beans and it's the perfect lunch or light dinner. My absolute favorite meal here is the 5 taquitos with a side of charro beans. This is a lot of food for $7 and you'll more than likely take a taquito or two home with you, perfect for a quick snack. The 5 taquitos entree is a beautiful thing. ( photo attached ) My only complaint, the red salsa is always extremely watery. You'll get maybe 3-4 good scoops in before you're pretty much just scooping up tomato water. If they thickened the red salsa up it would be perfect. I'm still giving 5 stars though because the infamous green sauce more than makes up for the red salsas shortcomings. Seriously, put that green magic sauce on EVERYTHING. I'm happy that this location opened up in Cypress and I hope they stay for a good long time, and continue with the good service and fresh quality of ingredients. read more

Went here today for lunch with a friend and my daughter! Sat anywhere and wasn't even given menus till after a few moments being there. Got chips and salsa but we saw all around us they were given a complimentary soup type deal! We were never given or ask! Ask for a unsweet tea with lemon, apparently they only have lime, which ok! Didn't get a Straw, so thank goodness brought my own, because we were not even being acknowledged! Ordered fajitas for two and they don't even have sour cream in the building I guess, because she said they don't sell it! We get our food, finally, missing items already ask for, so ask again! One lady was great and super sweet but the other, not good service at all! Proceed to check out almost 30 min later, and not ONE time did we get ask how we are doing or need anything! Ask for my tea to go, never got that either! This is the 2nd time this has happened to us here and have noticed people walk out. Food is ok, not bad, but customer service can go a long way! My boyfriend and I decided to eat at this location yesterday. We had never ate at this location but love Taqueria Arandas. Luz was our server and she was absolutely amazing! I originally ordered a Jamaica drink and told her I didn't like the way it tasted. She asked me what I thought was wrong, so I told her it tasted like someone put too much sugar. So she offered other flavors for me to try and bought me a sample of the horchata to see if I liked that one better. I did and she brought it to me. While we were eating our food she comes out with a fresh sample of Jamaica. She told me to try it because she told the cooks in the back that I said it was not good. It ended up being so good and I was content with the horchata. However, she insisted she would bring me a full drink of Jamaica so I would go without wanting what I had originally asked for. Sweet lady, I really enjoyed her effort and making sure our experience was great. read more

It is true that salsas are not great and beans and rice need a little bit more flavor. Service is good, but this is not a restaurant if you want a flavorful Mexican food! Decided to try this place, we arrived it was pretty empty. We stay down and it took a while to order because the three waiters were just talking...we finally ordered and the beans were gross but on the upside the tacos were good! The service was bad. I USE to like this place... -Three weeks ago I ordered migas but they gave me a pile of chip debris and cheese, NO EGGs. When I asked why no eggs, they said that's how migas are made ... 3, 2, 1... I was born and raised in San Antonio and in 20 years I never once had someone serve me egg-less migas! - Last week I ordered the #1 (Milanese style steak) it was pretty tough -Tonight I ordered the #1 again, it was beef jerky, workout for your jaws level tough!!! I'm going to take some digestive enzymes and pray they work because I'm sure I just served a piece of leather. I'm done. There are far too many other taquerias to go to besides this one! read more

When we arrived, the restaurant was empty, and I will say our server was very nice and welcoming. One thing we immediately noticed, though, was that the menu prices were crossed out and changed. The waitress explained that prices have been fluctuating, but it did feel a little unpolished and confusing seeing gouged-out pricing on multiple items. I ordered the breakfast quesadilla, and my wife got the South of the Border omelet. We also had the roasted potatoes, which ended up being a very small portion. My main issue was that several items listed (or expected) didn't come as described. The quesadilla was supposed to come with sour cream and pico, but they weren't served on the side. We were told the pico was inside the quesadilla, which wasn't noted on the menu. Additionally, both dishes had raw, unsautéed onions mixed into the scrambled eggs. That wasn't listed in the description, and I personally don't like raw onions, so it definitely affected the meal for me. I think ingredients like that should be clearly stated. The cheese sauce tasted like standard heated nacho cheese and was very runny, not what we expected from a breakfast dish. The sour cream also tasted off. Overall, while the service was friendly, the food and menu presentation didn't meet expectations. Unfortunately, we probably won't be returning.

It was interesting to see the regular shrimp with the tiny shrimp but it was still ok. The grits were just a bit greasy. The serving size was a pretty big size. I wasn't expecting that. I don't have to return unfortunately. But marking it off the list.

The space is huge and had a great cafe vibe. The bookshelf had a couple books and I realized I read almost half of them, very cool. I ordered one blueberry scone, and that, unfortunately, was not great. It took about 15 minutes to get the one scone, while my groceries sat in my hot car. I'd finished my coffee before I got the scone and since a scone is typically very dry it's kinda meant to go with a drink (I mean, why did it take that long to put the scone in the microwave for a minute). I ended up taking it home to have with a home coffee. I bit into the scone and it tasted like straight-up refrigerator. Just nasty. It went straight to the trash. I wish I would have known, I could have saved time and just flushed a $5 bill into toilet instead. But, I can't stop thinking about that cold brew!

I also had tough fried and bland chicken tenders at the Humble location. It seems as if they're cooked from frozen but I don't know. As for the mac and cheese I like that it was a homemade sauce rather than kraft but it tasted nothing like mac and cheese sauce. Instead it tasted more like a garlic alfredo sauce without the parmesan. The only okay thing was the mashed potatoes. I liked the garlic flavor in them but I could've went without the parmesan cheese in them. Overall, I haven't been pleased with anything i've ordered from here so not sure if i'd recommend.
