Beef tacos on corn... SO GOOD
    Sam V.

This place is SO good!!! Easily has become my new favorite Mexican food place. They have the BEST beef street tacos. I always order the beef tacos on corn with green sauce on the side!

    Street taco- pastor.

It's not that good. I'm always looking for really good street tacos, saw this place was open 24 hours, and decided to give it a try. First, they didn't follow instructions. I asked for corn tortillas, but got flour. The meat was pre-cooked, not terribly bad but didn't taste fresh. They also skimmed the onion and cilantro..... I would have loved to say I'll try it again, but unfortunately- I won't.

This little hole in the wall has some of the best beef fajita tacos around. Fast service and great food always!! Green sauce is awesomeness!! Wish they were a chain.

Tiny Tacos. Although not in a food truck anymore, meat isnt cooked fresh.

The wait is over. You know that wait you have to experience in awaiting for a food truck to finally open a full service restaurant? Yeah...the wait is over as Ruby Taqueria that sat at the corner of 290 and Huffmeister has finally opened up their restaurant location a little further up the street on Huffmeister. Even though I wasn't a fan of the food from the food truck, as it's not one that is ever driven off for a wash and it had chicken's running around everywhere, I was actually happy to see them opening up a restaurant in hopes that the food would be allot more fresh and served in a better environment. Well, I got the environment part right. When I tell you that the food is prepared in the EXACT same way as if they are in a truck...I mean it. The taste hasn't changed nor the quality. I walked up to the counter to place my order. The staff was nice and presentable but spoke very little English, but we made due. You can see directly into the kitchen as it's right behind the counter that you order from. Nice brand new kitchen equipment ready to makes some delicious fresh tacos right.. NOT. After placing my order of 6 tacos on flour tortillas, the lady in the kitchen pulls out this heated tray of already cooked food. It was only covered by aluminum foul. She took out some store bought tortillas and placed them on the grill to warm them up. Then, she took some tongs, reached into the aluminum covered serving tray and pulled out a pinch of meat to put on the tortilla. The waiting time was just as long as it would take to warm up a tortilla. About 45 secs after placing my order I had 6 tacos' in front of me. Which is also the same time it took for me to open a bottle of coke and pour it into my cup of ice and take two sips. What a waste of a perfectly new grill. What good does it do to move out of a truck but still run your business like you are in a truck? You're not, you are now in a restaurant so now it's time to shine and show customers how fresh cooked food actually taste from your chefs. This was a fail. Even the kids didn't want to finish their Tacos. We had to leave and go elsewhere to have some real Mexican food. Be forewarned before you go there that they only take cash. Yeah in 2013, still only cash. So as I said on my review of the truck I will say the same here. This food is for those who have gotten drunk and everything else is closed. Sad to say, but I would rather have the 2 for $1 tacos at Jack in the Box than sacrifice my tongue again here. Sorry Ruby's I really wanted to like you guys so much, but I just can't if you don't use the kitchen to actually cook to order. Epic Fail.

    Pastor tacos
    Angela T.

Not the best tacos I've ever had, but definitely not the worst either. Was craving tacos so I decided to give this place a try for lunch. Ordered 4 pastor tacos, a churro, an order of fries, 3 breakfast tacos for the mister (he's a big fan of breakfast even after noon) and a bottled water. Total came out to ~ $17, not bad at all! While we were waiting on our food, they were nice enough to bring us a basket of chips and salsa. Pastor tacos were just ok. There were lots of bits of extremely crispy and dry pieces of pork. The tacos were a bit on the smaller side but they were still filling. Lots of onions and cilantro and the hot sauces had a nice kick. The churros were delicious. Coated in cinnamon sugar and caramel. It was definitely my favorite part of the meal. Service wasn't bad. Order at the counter and there wasn't any language barrier. The food is made to order and was pretty quick.

Burritas- (not a burrito) deep fried cornmeal bread. Filled w/black beans, sour cream + cheese. Delicious

A place I grew up in as a little girl in Beaumont but never have I've visit this "original" location. Stepping in to this spot felt like a restaurant in the country of Mexico. I ordered the El Henry. I absolutely loved my dish, only thing I would've chance was the cheese enchilada definitely would've swap for a chicken or beef one, or maybe even a flaunta. I really like the Mexican rice, it had little potatoes and carrots in it. Some of the best Mexican yellow rice I've had. They offer a cinco de mayo drink special. The only thing that seem to make it special was the drinks apparently were limited edition menu items. Nothing was special about the prices. The regular menu drinks were a dollar(s) less. The margarita I ordered first was peach coconut. I didn't taste the coconut at all. I swap for the peach strawberry ($14 or 15) which was great, sweet& strong. One did me just right. You get to select up to two flavors for additional $2 (for both verse each, that's a plus. Not worded on menu). If you select a third flavor an additional $2 would be added ($4 in total) I appreciate separate tickets provided after confirmation and no additional gratuity automatically added, which he got tip equally the same or more. When asked about the "empty" patio that was available, he informed us that the entire deck was reserved. Upon departing I noticed from the parking lot individual tables, of separate parties were occupying only 3 tables. It was 8 of us sitting at 2 tables. Which the table was pushed up against the wall, and one side was inaccessible, which took away spacing. Service was lovely space was really tight. Good thing some of the ladies didn't order full meals. Definitely wouldn't have been able to fit every plate.

The flavor of our steak fajitas was excellent, after dinner Ninfa's offers a free shuttle bus to the baseball park. They drop you off and pick you up after the game. For drinks, my husband and our friends tried some of the margaritas from their large and unique margaritas menu, as well as their hibiscus agua fresca. All of the drinks were very pretty and it seemed like everyone enjoyed them, too! We started with their chips and salsa trio, which we all really liked. The chips were on the thicker side, but were crispy and not stale or chewy at all. Each of the salsas were quite different, and two were served warm, which we really liked! For the price, I'd consider getting the chips and salsa as a non-negotiable, honestly. For entrees, we tried the enchilada rojas, chilaquiles verde w/ chicken and beef, birria barbacoa ramen, and huaraches. My husband felt like his ramen could have included more meat, but aside from that everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. The highlight was probably the desserts, though! We got a quatro leches and two ordered of their giant and amazing churros. Both were incredibly tasty and reason enough to return for another visit in the future!

It definitely is enough for 2. The meat melts in your mouth. EVERYTHING is better quality than here. Teo charged $1.50 for perhaps 4 or 5 slices of lime to make the happy hour margaritas made with a gross mix drinkable. That's outrageous. It reminds me that I had stopped going long ago when they charged extra for onions on enchiladas. Come on. You don't charge extra for chopped onions! I have never been to another restaurant that does so. Some even provide carmelized grilled onions gratis. I'm convinced that a $15. YUMMY mango margarita at Pappasitos would have given us the same buzz & tasted better than 8 happy hour margaritas here. I used to love the in house made flour tortillas at Teo. Another highlight was the steak course and the heavenly chocolate dessert course, which was expertly paired with their take on an espresso martini. Chef's kiss! The restaurant is actually quite tiny, and I found it to be on the warm/muggy side, and it wasn't even that hot outside. Also, from a decor perspective, they could certainly use a "freshening up" though perhaps a newer larger location would be a better idea. Party of 9 and we were seated promptly. They have a lunch menu and a happy hour as well as a full menu and full bar. The interior was nicely decorated. And open. There is bar seating and patio seating as well. Our waitress was Aisha and she was amazing. Friendly, helpful and patient. And able handle our large group and a few more tables with a smile. There were a variety of options. Salads, fajitas, nachos, enchiladas, etc. Also complimentary chips and salsa. My Order: chicken tortilla soup, lunch fajitas combo - chicken and beef. Chicken tortilla soup (3.5/5) - it was a bit salty for me but I am not a salt person so most things are salty to me; everyone else said it was tasty, there were tons of shredded chicken, avocado pieces, tortilla strips Fajitas - combo (4/5) - chicken was seasoned well and the beef (medium rare) was perfection and so tender and juicy, mexican rice was fluffy, and normally I would pass on the beans and get extra rice but my coworker suggested the charro beans and wow, that was a win - the seasoning was great, there were chunks of meat and the texture was nice, the only thing that could have been done better is the flour tortillas - they over-charred them making them too crispy and left them with a burnt taste. A couple of people got the elote salad and raved about it. So that will be a next time try. Def will be back. Everyone enjoyed their meals and some even ordered food to go. Would recommend.
