Nice savory bite to it. Great tortillas. The eggs were from the line but were perfectly cooked. Paired it with the red sauce. Just a really really good combination. Seriously The brisket, egg & cheese was good. I felt like it was more of a brisket with sauce like you would get with a chopped brisket sandwich, more sweet than savory. Tried the green sauce here but it wasn't paired well with the sweetness of the brisket. Same great tortilla & perfectly mass cooked eggs. Great taco but more sweet than I would have preferred. So it was my besties birthday and we wanted some good BBQ and heard this place had it. And so we drove the 18 miles to try it. We are so glad we did! As with most BBQ places it's served cafeteria style, go down the line and pick what you want, you could literally see the juices flow out of the brisket as he was cutting it (begin drooling here) you have a choice of dry or wet. I ordered the one meat plate with the wet brisket since I couldn't get the ribs I wanted, as they only serve those by the pound at just under $35 (that'll be a separate trip) and double Mac n Cheese ( had it from a reliable source, a 4 year old as we were coming in the door that it was "the bomb!) that little man knew what he was talking about! They even had my favorite Mexican Coke and the good tiny ice! The brisket was so juicy and tender it was falling apart just looking at it. And wasn't over seasoned like most places do to a point that you can't even taste the meat, it had its natural flavor enhanced with a bit of salt and possibly hickory. I honestly haven't had brisket that good EVER and I'm really old AND from Texas to be saying that, so you know it's good! Now let's talk about that Mac n Cheese... it was a thick oooyee gooey cheesy, mouthful of heaven with every bite and made me real glad I got two orders of it. The restaurant is deceptively large, a bit like the "Tardis" bigger on the inside! They have a completely closed-in full bar area with the largest T.V I've ever seen inside a place! There is a small dining area that has an extremely large T.V in it that took me awhile to even notice. It has high ceilings, but is very quiet as they actually put in sound barriers to absorb the noise. I sadly can't speak on the dessert offering as, for once, I was entirely too full to even think about dessert... I KNOW crazy right!? The only negative I have to say about the Pit is their pickle situation... they only have one kind, bread and butter that not the negative what is though, is the fact that they have them mixed with carrots (still ok) and fresh jalapeños NOT OK! And don't have another option for those who can no longer stomach fresh jalapeños. Still not gonna keep me from going back there and if you're reading this GO you will not be disappointed. I ordered the 3 pounder it came with a corn, 2 potatoes, mushrooms (handful) and an andouille sausage link. They also have gloves and they gave me a buck for the shells. There is indoor and outside seating. This is a family establishment, there were lots of families on the patio. There are also lots of screens to watch the game and bars in and outside. I recently hosted a Birthday at this location with 25+ attendees and the patio was just perfect for the gathering. I noticed every other tables was also celebrating so I would definitely recommend coming here for your next event. The BBQ was okay, there were a few misses mixed in with the hits. The Brisket and Pork Ribs was cold and dry but the Jalapeño Sausages and Beef Rib made up for it. The Jambalaya, Elote & Green Beans were really good sides but I can't say the same for the Potato Salad and Mac & Cheese. The dinner menu had an interesting take includes Brisket Eggrolls, Pulled Pork Nachos, Burgers, and even a T-Bone. There is definitely something for everyone even if you aren't feeling the BBQ, the variety is endless. I met up with some friends during Memorial Day weekend for dinner. This was my first time trying The Pit Room. At the time of our visit, they had only been open a few weeks. Parking is plentiful as the restaurant is located in a shopping strip. I was the last to arrive in my group. Some of the group had ordered drinks at the bar and grabbed a table to wait. When we went to order, they left their drinks on the table as a place holder. My friend also notified the staff that we were coming back to the table. The line was long, but it moved quickly. I ordered the Two Meat Plate with turkey and brisket. I enjoyed them both, especially with the BBQ sauce. The brisket was really tender and flavorful. For my sides I went with potato salad and okra. The potato salad was good. I liked the okra, but it was a little too peppery for my taste. I appreciated the fact that it wasn't fried though. The portions were generous and I had enough for leftovers the next day. The condiment bar had a lot of pickled items. The house made pickles had way too much vinegar and I didn't care for the spiciness. There's still a lot of Houston BBQ places that I need to try, but I'm glad that I can check off The Pit Room.
