Spacious.. they have a patio room with a huge tv, bar seating, and tables all around. It was like a tourisy bbq spot because they had like a tiny little gift shop like spot where you can buy trinkets or souvenirs. They have sandwiches and tacos. The best thing there is probably the brisket though. It's moist and fatty and easy to eat. The ends weren't hard, charred, or chewy. I don't think there was like seasoning or flavor was heavy but the quality of the meat was delicious. The sides weren't the best or even best selection. Potato salad was too wet, too fatty, and didn't provide the acidity to contrast the fat. The sausage was decent, I give 4/5 stars. It was thick, juicy, and was similar to other places such as Truth, Corkscrew, Terry Black's, etc. The elotes was also too acidic for my liking and the cheese on top didn't mix well with the dish. Obviously, I went to Yelp to look for suggestions and to review the ratings, but what always gets me are the ones where there are great reviews, high ratings and of course, my must condiments bar! This place did not fail my expectations! We all ordered one of the family meal specials, which included a little bit of everything. The highlight obviously was the beef rib, and the brisket. The brisket and beef rib were good, the turkey was flavorless, and the beef sausage does not reach the bar when compared to others. The quality, serving size I'm not sure it justifies the price. But let me clarify ...BBQ is really a matter of personal preference, we have been to the top tier joints in Texas and my experience and opinion is that very few can excel in all areas beef, pork, chicken, turkey, sausage and most are strong in only one. So it was my besties birthday and we wanted some good BBQ and heard this place had it. And so we drove the 18 miles to try it. We are so glad we did! As with most BBQ places it's served cafeteria style, go down the line and pick what you want, you could literally see the juices flow out of the brisket as he was cutting it (begin drooling here) you have a choice of dry or wet. I ordered the one meat plate with the wet brisket since I couldn't get the ribs I wanted, as they only serve those by the pound at just under $35 (that'll be a separate trip) and double Mac n Cheese ( had it from a reliable source, a 4 year old as we were coming in the door that it was "the bomb!) that little man knew what he was talking about! They even had my favorite Mexican Coke and the good tiny ice! The brisket was so juicy and tender it was falling apart just looking at it. And wasn't over seasoned like most places do to a point that you can't even taste the meat, it had its natural flavor enhanced with a bit of salt and possibly hickory. I honestly haven't had brisket that good EVER and I'm really old AND from Texas to be saying that, so you know it's good! Now let's talk about that Mac n Cheese... it was a thick oooyee gooey cheesy, mouthful of heaven with every bite and made me real glad I got two orders of it. The restaurant is deceptively large, a bit like the "Tardis" bigger on the inside! They have a completely closed-in full bar area with the largest T.V I've ever seen inside a place! There is a small dining area that has an extremely large T.V in it that took me awhile to even notice. It has high ceilings, but is very quiet as they actually put in sound barriers to absorb the noise. I sadly can't speak on the dessert offering as, for once, I was entirely too full to even think about dessert... I KNOW crazy right!? The only negative I have to say about the Pit is their pickle situation... they only have one kind, bread and butter that not the negative what is though, is the fact that they have them mixed with carrots (still ok) and fresh jalapeños NOT OK! And don't have another option for those who can no longer stomach fresh jalapeños. Still not gonna keep me from going back there and if you're reading this GO you will not be disappointed. For the price what u get is absolutely a rip off and not even worth it based on taste. They should use less on the esthetics of this place and use more on the quality of meats. I ordered the 3 pounder it came with a corn, 2 potatoes, mushrooms (handful) and an andouille sausage link. They also have gloves and they gave me a buck for the shells. There is indoor and outside seating. This is a family establishment, there were lots of families on the patio. There are also lots of screens to watch the game and bars in and outside.
