Delicious fried shrimp! Catfish not bad, counter help/order taker/cashier could stand to be a little friendlier. Will go back!

Today Sept.22 at 6730 Atascocita Road we went to The Catch restaurant we were greeted by Ms. Clarissa Deleon was very pleasant, courteous, respectful and attentive to us took our order. Ask if we would like an appetizer so we placed an order for fried green tomatoes Yum delicious. She assure us if there was anything else we needed before our food arrived let her know. it was around 2:33. pm in the afternoon. Very quiet and peaceful cajun music playing in the background was just awesome felt like wanting to get up and dance to that zydeco music. This was my first time going to The Catch in Atascocita. My sister, brother in-law and I place our fountain drinks, I ordered Jumbo Shrimp fried with White Fish and Hush Puppies. My brother-in-law had The Big Easy which consisted of Blackened Catfish with garlic bread hush puppies, & 5 shrimp. My sister had the caesar salad with grilled chicken. Our experience was fantastic!! We normally hit the places we already know. Decided to stop in here and the food was better than we actually expected! The place was clean and the staff friendly! Cajun music wasn't too loud to be able to have a conversation - a plus for certain! We got the Captain's Combo and the Shrimp and Oyster plate and Fried Mushrooms. I didn't like the oysters - but mainly because of my taste preference. My husband said they were good! Mushrooms were great! We almost filled up on them before we got our meals! I like this place. The food is great. nice and hot. Service was ok. The employee wasn't rude, he just wasn't personable. He took my order and gave me my receipt. My husband and I have thought about trying this place for years. Finally went. Got there around 7:30 on Tuesday and the place was dead, aside from some folks picking up to go orders. We decided to split the Catch 22 ($32 before tax) - 2 catfish, 1 whitefish, 8 jumbo shrimp, 3 hush puppies, 2 fried oysters, and a side of fries. Catfish was great, oysters weren't the best. Shrimp was good. Whitefish a little bland compared to the catfish. We still had *plenty* of food left over. Could have split this with a third person. Off rip they were out of crawfish and it was only 2 PM but I think that was just God saving me because somebody said that they got theirs and half of them were spoiled so I got a pound of shrimp corn, and potato it's like they leave their corn and potato soaking in water or put them in the fridge if They don't use them because they're super waxy on top of that they put the bag of shrimp inside the Togo container upside down and I understand the whole cut viral let the boil come out the bag all presentable but when you're getting it to go, that's not OK it's going to leak,overall for $30 it was not worth it read more

Got to-go tonight and unfortunately won't be going back again. Had the bourbon chicken pasta, side salad, and tried the banana pudding and Keylime pie. A great place to order fried seafood. When you first come in you go to the register and place your order. They give you a number and then find an table. There's a few options of fried and pan cooked seafood, po boy sandwiches, and gumbo. We were a large party and there was accommodation to fit 10 people and kids. There's paper towel rolls on the table and a condiment table. The food arrives fairly quickly but we were there during a not busy time. We definitely return if we're in the area. read more

I ordered food for me and my daughter, a half pound of shrimp, and 2 lbs of crawfish. They were supposed to be separate bags. Apparently the cook put her shrimp in my bag and gave us the half lb of shrimp, as well. I hadn't opened my bag yet, the server asked if she could take my food back, remove the shrimp and return it. I'm appalled at that question, you want to take my food to the back remove from it and give it back to me? I asked for a refund and left. This place is ridiculous, the servers do not care for the customers if they stay or go. The attitude is cool get your money and get out, no apologies for the mistake on their end. They pre fried /cooked their food !!! The shrimp and catfish was rubbery and had hard edges which means it was either old or pre fried and then dropped back into the fryer. BYOB!! This place is now BYOB. You can bring in your alcohol and the restaurant provides the set up. Order at the counter then find a seat. Staff is great about offering suggestions/recommendations. Restaurant is always clean. Your food is brought out to your table. The flavors on the boiled seafood is some of the best I've found. I have visited several times and the flavor is consistent. I would not go back. They do a lot of advertising on social media, but it doesn't match the experience. We arrived place totally empty. They advertise free beer, etc. but they don't have it available not a dealbreaker, but I came for the food and it wasn't up to par. I'm not a complainer, but I'm honest they can do better. My daughter and I walked in to The Catch today and waited at the register for 5+ minutes. Mind you the restaurant was empty except for us and the people speaking in the back. We could hear them talking loudly. My daughter said "HELLO" and we waited longer, as we made our way to the take out window we see people in the kitchen talking. Not at all a place I can recommend. The good reviews I read on yelp brought us here, but food quality was so poor we are never coming back. Fried catfish had 0 flavor and accompanied by green beans and potatoes that had to come straight out of a can! The boiled shrimp was so small it took forever to get the shell off. We went to this restaurant at 8:40p on Sat. There were 5 of in our group. We all ordered food and teas to drink. Our food had not even come out and the teenagers who seem to run the place (no adult present) poured out the tea as if they were closed. Posted hours are open til 9:30p. I brought it up staff attention just we would like a refill of tea. They didn't apologize and had terrible attitudes. I told them they could at least refund the teas since we weren't going to be able to have any tea. They refused. It's a shame bc we usually enjoyed this place. The place needs some adult management. Have been a couple times since moving to the area. Servers are never really an issue. We get that young people take these jobs. It's a learning experience. Food - not so great! Each time we've gone we get a variety and share. Grease must be old each time.... I don't think the price is horrible but the food should be better. Place is decent in the inside. We have gotten inconsistent results when asked to not make the fried food with the spice they use for my daughter. Stomach pains with just a little spice food.
