Morgan City pasta
Frank W.

Great food and great atmosphere. I was picking up some glasses near and check the menu out only to a dish named after my home town in Louisiana. The dish was Morgan City pasta which was a great meal. Our bartender was real friendly and social also gave us great service along with her entertainment.

Even though I had a first bad experience,I decided to give them another few tries. 1st time I tried their crawfish and I may be wrong here but it seems they just boil them in water. I say this because when you crack them open the "juices" are just clear vs a good seasoned darker water. 2nd time Our waiter was Mike and he was actually pretty attentive and nice. We were given some chips and salsa. Some chips were stale and salsa was just watery so bit hard to scoop but we still managed to eat it. I got their catfish platter(shrimp in pic not included) and it was enough to fill me up. We also had their Paloma grande and boy did that make peoples heads turn lol. There was something missing in it to give it that good flavor but good enough to give you a nice little buzz. We also had their margaritas I had a strawberry hills and house rita. I love a good margarita I mean who doesn't right? These were just a bit too too sweet. All in all it's an ok place but not something I'd take as my first option when I'm out towards that area. Maybe next time I'll try something diff and see how that goes.

Once a month my wife and I dine out with a group of friends who are also retired. We like to support restaurants in our neighborhood and have dined here twice. Most of us have lived in this part of Texas for many years and enjoy Tex-Mex and Cajun style food. BB's is always good. Service is fairly fast, even during the busy lunch hour. We usually need a big table so often sit out on the patio which has fans and air conditioning. It can get a bit noisy when packed with people so we usually go a bit later in the lunch hour. The gumbo is very good and the shrimp and crab boils are also good. You can't go wrong with any of the choices on their menu!

Fried fish platter with Cole slaw.

Our coworkers went out to lunch and brought food back to us. I ordered the shrimp and grits with collards. Omg the food was so good. It was still hot although they had a commute back to the office. The shrimp was seasoned well and the sausage gravy was spicy like I like it. It was plentiful and I had leftovers. The only thing I don't like is the shrimp tails are still on and the shrimp is hot. I have to peel the shrimp before I start eating. I don't like to waste the shrimp meat that's in the tail. They say the place was not crowded for a Friday at lunchtime. A winning meal.

Trio loco -way too much sauce everywhere

It has been a long time since I've visited a restaurant and it's clear they don't care about presentation of your food or the food tasting experience. I don't know who was plating the food but when your plate e has a bottom layer of cheese from your mac and cheese, it makes it difficult to discern the taste of other things on your plate. I ordered the Trio Loco under the Texaneaux combos because I thought it would showcase the best of the brand. I was wrong. At the advice of our server I chose mac n cheese (it hits he said) it did not. The red beans and rice was dry -it looked over cooked and I didn't eat more than one bite. The boudin flauta was ok but it was drowned in the sauce along with the previously mentioned cheese. It was the same for my empanadas which I know tase good because thankfully we ordered them as an app and I was able to taste it sans cheese. The enchilada was also decent but all in all I had food envy for everyone else who chose gumbo (shrimp and chicken were reportedly good) and those who got the three item meal. I heard exceptionally good things about the dirty rice, which I would have subbed the red beans and rice for if I had known. Originally, someone in our party ordered a PoBoy but the bread was so hard that they sent it back and asked to sub it for gumbo instead. We ordered several apps, the standout being boudin balls and jalapeno poppers. The empanadas were good, but not great. The welcome salsa has cheese in it. I think it was served warm -it didn't entice me or anyone else to have more than one bite leaving me to conclude it's the combination components that hurt their menu. The best part of the experience was their accommodation of our large party -8 people with no reservation- and getting us seated within 10 mins of arrival. And Mia who was a hostess was also really bice and took our picture at the end. Although my food journey was a failure, I feel I learned good lesson that the more cajun items are better to choose from so I would go back once more to give that a try.

Grilled Salmon Creole
Leah W.

This isn't my first rodeo with BB's I love their food!! It's the first location i've ever seen with a drive thru and I absolutely love that. I ordered the Grilled Salmon Creole and it was a nice portion. I enjoyed the lemon butter sauce and the dirty rice was flavorful and delicious. I felt the green beans could've been seasoned more but the texture was to my liking. I would've gave 5 stars but the salmon was a tad bit overcooked but next time i'd just ask them to slightly undercook it! Overall i'd definitely recommend bbs and this meal!

65th Birthday

It was a good experience, my mom enjoyed her surprise birthday celebration here! So much so that she returned for indoor seating the following weekends with friends! The food was good and the drinks were as well. My only desire was that for a hot day in Texas and a large family is seated on the outdoor deck, I wish that there would have been a fan pointing in our direction or even in our vicinity. There were fans you walked under as you entered and some at smaller tables, but there were NONE near the larger tables. Not a good look.

Ask the Community - BB's Tex-Orleans

Are oysters in season?

They sure are! We are also offering half priced dozens during Happy Hour. Only 10.99 Monday through Friday from 3-6:30pm! We hope to serve you soon!

Are crawfish in season?

Not yet. Earliest is around December. However, BB's is often later Feb(?) due to the small sizes early in the season.

Whew, what a wonderful lunch I had here. On my continues search of good eats near my home, I came…read moreacross this place on Yelp and was met with delight when we walked in. I had never been to the previous address, but the interior design was so lovely we chose to sit at the new bar. Kady, the bartender (forgive me if I spelled it wrong) was such a doll the whole time waiting us. She kept the chips (touch of louisiana we enjoyed) next to her for refills and made the most twisted hurricane I've had. Definitely walked out clinging to my man lol. We tried the crawfish dip which came with two types of bread, though both went amazing with it. I ordered the lobster ravioli with a side of hush puppies and my old guy ordered the lamb chops, well done, with gumbo (we don't eat pork) and stuffed shrimp. Everything was so damn great tasting. I mean, damned good tasting. My only flaw was the roux could've been a little thinner, but that is absolutely it. Fabulous timeeee and I'm so recommending.

So they've moved. From Market Street to the space Next to one of my favorite cafes (PB)…read more Parking lot not full on an Easter Weekend. Despite a pretty empty restaurant we were told that only the bar and outside were available. And unlike many other places, they said this bar only allows 21 and older to dine in the bar area, which means only the outside for us. This being a cold (because of the wind) and cloudy morning. Sigh. Asked for a kids menu and was told it's only for 12 and under. Got the evil eye from the hostess when I said my kid qualifies. Then I offered to show them her ID and they backed off with smiles even. The complementary potato chips kind of tasted like Chips Oman. At least they weren't stale and it's a nice addition while you wait. The kiddo got the kids catfish which was just a pretty small piece of fish. Fries were good. Side fruit consisted of strawberries pineapple and red grapes. No drink included. Had to chase down the staff to get some tartar sauce. I wanted a Po Boy but was told they don't offer it on the weekends. Asked about beignets and was told it's only for dessert. Sigh. Decided to get the pork ribeye fricassee. The flavor was good but boy was it salty. Almost like they dropped a whole shaker of salt on it. Good thing there was some rice to counter the effect. Otherwise it would be inedible. So after our meal we had access to the desert menu and got a half order of beignets (4 pieces). They were ok. The dough on these is pretty thick though. Not sure if that's standard but I'd prefer light and fluffy. Soft opening was just the day before. So I think they're trying to find their stride. Water girl was on it though so kudos to her. Waiter was meh. Had to go in and fetch him a few times as they don't come outside much, especially when you're the only one out there. The bar area is small but the bartenders are nice. They have a sectioned off room in the back which might be good for a larger group. Place is kinda small overall though.

If I would have rated this place my first time here two years ago, it would have barely received…read moretwo stars. This time was a completely different experience. As we walked in, we were immediately greeted by Eric and seated. He sat us in a private cozy nook but we asked to move to the booths with tv viewing access. Eric took the time to explain the menu and offered his suggestions. He greeted and checked on everyone. As he spoke to people, he would thank them for coming back and converse as if he was speaking to old friends. The customer service was superb. My husband ordered a michelada with Michelob Ultra. He said it was a few degrees shy of having ice in it, who doesn't love a cold beer! For dinner we ordered the gumbo with sausage, red beans and rice, and the twin lobster rolls. The gumbo had a dark roux. It was decent but the spice level was a bit much for me. After about four bites, my husband took over. He enjoyed it. Next was the red beans and rice with sausage. The flavor was good. My only complaint was the sausage pieces were too big for one bite. Lastly was the twin lobster rolls with Cajun fries. The fries were crispy and I'd compare them to Charlie's. The roll had generous portions of delicious lobster. We chose a hot roll but they do serve it cold if you prefer. The basket is served with a 2 oz helping of melted butter for you to drizzle on your rolls. The flat top rolls were buttery, soft, and grilled to perfection. Overall, we enjoyed them but they were missing just a touch of something, maybe a spice, I can't pinpoint it. I would definitely get them again though! The food was all hot and fresh. I overheard Eric telling another customer they don't have heat lamps and everything is brought out as soon as it comes off the stove. The location is in the center of booming shopping centers. This is a great lunch or dinner spot that welcomes casual family friendly dining. I'm glad we returned, we will be back.

I just kept seeing the staff behind the bar and thinking Oh here it comes and it never did. Drink tbh was not the best. Food also took a while to come out. Idk if it's because we went around lunch but again the place was empty. I got softshell crabs I should've read it a bit more but it definitely needs a piece of bread.Basket came with fries and they were not that good.Everything was definitely lacking seasoning. Friend got red beans and rice with his Catfish basket. Idk if they're meant to taste like that but to me they(beans)had a burnt taste to them. He also mentioned how he only got 1 piece of catfish. Usually baskets come with 2 or more and was surprised since my basket did come with 2 crabs. IDK it's one of those places you want to like since the area doesn't have many seafood places but won't be coming back.
