We decided to come here on a Wednesday night. We had a sweet and attentive waitress. I ordered the Texas Trio, I chose the boiled shrimp, sausage, and fried fish. It also came with potatoes and corn. The food came out hot and it was pretty good. My only complaint is that they charge for melted butter and extra sauce for the shrimp. Because it is Mardi Gras season, all regular frozen drinks are $5 until Mardi Gras. I ordered the Texas twister and it was not too strong. Even though I had a first bad experience,I decided to give them another few tries. 1st time I tried their crawfish and I may be wrong here but it seems they just boil them in water. I say this because when you crack them open the "juices" are just clear vs a good seasoned darker water. 2nd time Our waiter was Mike and he was actually pretty attentive and nice. We were given some chips and salsa. Some chips were stale and salsa was just watery so bit hard to scoop but we still managed to eat it. I got their catfish platter(shrimp in pic not included) and it was enough to fill me up. We also had their Paloma grande and boy did that make peoples heads turn lol.There was something missing in it to give it that good flavor but good enough to give you a nice little buzz. We also had their margaritas I had a strawberry hills and house rita. I love a good margarita I mean who doesn't right? These were just a bit too too sweet. Once a month my wife and I dine out with a group of friends who are also retired. We like to support restaurants in our neighborhood and have dined here twice. Most of us have lived in this part of Texas for many years and enjoy Tex-Mex and Cajun style food. BB's is always good. Service is fairly fast, even during the busy lunch hour. We usually need a big table so often sit out on the patio which has fans and air conditioning. It can get a bit noisy when packed with people so we usually go a bit later in the lunch hour. Our coworkers went out to lunch and brought food back to us. I ordered the shrimp and grits with collards. Omg the food was so good. It was still hot although they had a commute back to the office. The shrimp was seasoned well and the sausage gravy was spicy like I like it. It was plentiful and I had leftovers. The only thing I don't like is the shrimp tails are still on and the shrimp is hot. It has been a long time since I've visited a restaurant and it's clear they don't care about presentation of your food or the food tasting experience. I don't know who was plating the food but when your plate e has a bottom layer of cheese from your mac and cheese, it makes it difficult to discern the taste of other things on your plate. I ordered the Trio Loco under the Texaneaux combos because I thought it would showcase the best of the brand. I was wrong. At the advice of our server I chose mac n cheese (it hits he said) it did not. The red beans and rice was dry -it looked over cooked and I didn't eat more than one bite. The boudin flauta was ok but it was drowned in the sauce along with the previously mentioned cheese. It was the same for my empanadas which I know tase good because thankfully we ordered them as an app and I was able to taste it sans cheese. The enchilada was also decent but all in all I had food envy for everyone else who chose gumbo (shrimp and chicken were reportedly good) and those who got the three item meal. I heard exceptionally good things about the dirty rice, which I would have subbed the red beans and rice for if I had known. Originally, someone in our party ordered a PoBoy but the bread was so hard that they sent it back and asked to sub it for gumbo instead. We ordered several apps, the standout being boudin balls and jalapeno poppers. The empanadas were good, but not great. The welcome salsa has cheese in it. I think it was served warm -it didn't entice me or anyone else to have more than one bite leaving me to conclude it's the combination components that hurt their menu. The best part of the experience was their accommodation of our large party -8 people with no reservation- and getting us seated within 10 mins of arrival. And Mia who was a hostess was also really bice and took our picture at the end. Although my food journey was a failure, I feel I learned good lesson that the more cajun items are better to choose from so I would go back once more to give that a try. read more

Restaurant 1/2 empty but waiting for tables for even parties of 2 granted we did have a party of 9 but waiting an hour when I can clearly see tables not in use is ridiculous we have now been waiting for an hour and a 1/2 do not come here I can't imagine anything on their menu being worth this!!!! read more

This isn't my first rodeo with BB's I love their food!! It's the first location i've ever seen with a drive thru and I absolutely love that. I ordered the Grilled Salmon Creole and it was a nice portion. I enjoyed the lemon butter sauce and the dirty rice was flavorful and delicious. I felt the green beans could've been seasoned more but the texture was to my liking. I would've gave 5 stars but the salmon was a tad bit overcooked but next time i'd just ask them to slightly undercook it! Overall i'd definitely recommend bbs and this meal! read more

Horrible experience, good flavors on boil and ramalaude sauce so it's sad that execution ruined everything. Even waited 20 minutes for the clueless male manager to come to us, for him to not know how to handle the circumstances at all. I shouldn't have been so surprised since the whole place was running like it had no management, even though the server said that there were3 on staff...go figure! We finally got up to leave and he seemed confused, and said we had to pay for food we didn't eat we had actually sent it back, which he also didn't know everyone there seen clueless, the waitress and the management. It was kind of chaotic we were there for over an hour and 20 minutes drank two beers each had some Boudin and cold Seafood she even said the waitress that is that someone had put in that they ran the food, but it never got ran. Why would you even admit that and then she admitted that her managers are all scared to talk to tables because they don't like the confrontation when people are upset well the reason it's upset is because the whole place is an entire shit show. The sad thing is that the food flavors were good like I said earlier, and if it was managed correctly and actually had a team of people who knew what they were doing it would be a successful restaurant. I will be contacting upper management in this case because the sad thing is I do know that they have more than one location and the one in the Heights was amazing. It was a good experience, my mom enjoyed her surprise birthday celebration here! So much so that she returned for indoor seating the following weekends with friends! This place is Cajun through and through with Spicy fried shrimp, catfish, boudin, etc. I didn't find a single menu item for brisket or chicken fried steak. We found the shrimp and catfish tasty. I just can't say enough. I usually wait a while to try a newly opened restaurant. This place was amazing. The employees were so helpful and friendly. It really reminded me of home. The boudin balls were really tasty. The roast beef poboy brought my husband to tears... just like he grew up with. We also ordered the fried fish lunch special and the shrimp poBoy. Sorry to say, this place is going downhill. Service was great tonight, however, everything else was TRASH! We ordered the shrimp & crab boil experience ($89.99) with the citrus garlic flavor. It came out EXTRA spicy and I like spicy food. I've ordered the citrus garlic in the past and it is NOT supposed to be spicy. This was so spicy that we couldn't enjoy it. We let the waitress know and she offered a fresh batch or a side of boiled water so we can dip it in. We asked for a fresh batch. Less than three minutes later we had our "fresh batch" minus our sausage, egg and potatoes. The veggies were still super spicy. We asked if this is the same batch that we sent back and she said yes- they washed it off with hot water. The waitress offered a 15% discount because she knew they were wrong for that. The food has always been very good. However, they recently raised their prices and while doing so they have reduced portion sizes. You used to be able to get coleslaw (a sizable amount) and if you did not want coleslaw you could substitute it for one of their other sides. This is no longer the case. The coleslaw side is very small now and you can no longer sub it out if you wish to do so. Not only this, but to sub the French fries (what comes with the shrimp) for another side is now an up charge. Always enjoyed the food, but given the price increase with the reduced portion sizes I will no longer be dining here. They said that it was more expensive than other places they've been. I had fish and the food was good. Let's cut to the chase, the food is excellent. If you're unsure what to order ask your server and they will make sure that the meal you get will have your eyes rolling back. Not sure if there's anything you could get that you won't enjoy. Food came out quick and server (Sierra) was on point with everything and was very knowledgeable on the food. Ask for her. Now let's get down to the debate, crawfish. For starters they have 3 types of options: regular, special, and handpicked Regular is well regular. 5lb for $35 pretty simple and standard Special = bigger crawfish, $9/lb if you're worried about size here's your option. Handpicked = handpicked big boys, whole plate is filled with huge mudbugs Now they have this option of like Tex-Mex saucy ish crawfish and then regular Louisiana styler crawfish. I opted for the Tex-Mex since the rest of the food has been excellent, so why wouldn't these? Well maybe for some people a change of pace is nice but in my mind you shouldn't fix something that isn't broken. Luckily they have the Louisiana style, but I will not be recommending the Tex-Mex style. It's not terrible but it's not for me. Like arguing wether or not pineapple goes on pizza, for me it's a no. All in all this place is awesome! I HIGHLY recommend this place for lunch specifically due to the fact this place is constantly packed. If you come here for dinner you have a really good chance of waiting for upwards to 30-40 min. If those are your options for timing to come I can tell you it'll be worth it. read more
