The union kitchen experience was an Old Fashioned dinner one. The core was very comfortable not too modern. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food did surprise me aside from looking very simple it had such great punch of flavor. I ended up having the blackened fish with mashed potatoes and asparagus which was perfectly combined yet very simple looking. The half sweet unsweet tea was absolutely perfect it really gave the South Justice for tea. Overall I don't know if I would come back, I'm not a big steak eater but the steak did look great. It's in a shopping Plaza with plenty of parking in the front

My coworkers went to lunch at Union kitchen so I sent my order. I had the Union kitchen burger, truffle fries and Oreo cheesecake. This burger is so good. It has onion rings, bacon and a nice juicy patty. I like mine medium well so it was perfect when I got it and also reheated well as I had a few bites leftover. The truffle fries are also very good. They didn't have as much oil on them today but still very good. The Oreo cheesecake was good, nice sized slice and had fresh strawberries and blueberries on top. It also had a drizzle of chocolate sauce. I was very happy with my meal today.

First time visit and I have to say it won't be the last. The ambiance was great and our waitress was very friendly and attentive but not overly attentive to where it became annoying. We had brunch and I got the biscuits and gravy with a side a sausage which came out luke warm but it was edible. I'm glad I got the side of sausage because the gravy really didn't have much in it. My husband had a burger which he enjoyed.

Fish Tacos were my goodness super good. Kept passing this place on my way home and decided to stop by finally and it didn't disappoint. Great staff and so looking forward to bringing a date here next time! 2 thumbs up.

Bummed that I didn't take more pictures! I had a White Russian and the Elvis Waffles. Belgian waffles with peanut butter and bananas. I ordered a side of bacon (extra crispy). It's been a couple of weeks and I still think k of those waffles. So worth going back for. Forget what my friend ordered. I ate some (but those waffles have my heart!) Waitress was training and did an excellent job! It's very pretty inside. I felt a little underdressed. It was ok though. Didn't feel judged. Great little place to go with your girlfriends or a fun Saturday breakfast date! Go!!

The Food was great. we had the lobster bisque soup, shrimp n grits and parm fish. the smoked old fashioned was perfection.Quick service for a valentines day and out server was very nice, efficient with common sense, it's a compliment. very warm atmosphere and definitely will go back.

    Crispy crab beni

Food was awful. My husband and I ordered the crispy crab cake Benedict. The crab cakes were absolutely not crispy, seared or anything as delightful as that. They did, however, taste and feel like moist cat food. Really pretty awful stuff. Worst crab cakes I've ever had. Hollandaise sauce was tasteless. The potato wedges were just like fast food, nothing special. They did a decent job on the poached egg was the best I could give. The atmosphere would have been fine except for the pounding music coming from the kitchen that competed with the dining music and made it hard to hear each other. It was so loud we asked to move to the other side of the restaurant. The servive was just ok. I won't be back.

The chandeliers are the main characters for sure. Lol. We popped in for happy hour and was blessed to be served by Argelis, the most handsome bartender on the block. Not only is he eye candy, he makes you feel right at home for the moment you are there. The specialty cocktails were tasty and just the right amount of booze to keep you classy hehe. We had lite bites such as the beef carpaccio and chicken cobb salad. Both were yummy. The only complaint was the ranch dressing wasn't ranching. However the manager was delightful enough to rectify the situation with grace. I love that customer satisfaction is top tier here in a world where it has become a lost art! Ordered Prickly Pear Mezcal margarita, Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing light IPA beer, cup of Cream of Cauliflower Soup, Caprese Panini on Focaccia bread with Herbed Fries, West Coaster Panini (Ham, Avocado, Arugula) on Ciabatta bread with Herbed Fries, and a Coffee Fudgy Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream to go. Service was fantastic with our server (Will) being very knowledgeable and friendly. Drinks and food arrived quickly and were fantastic - the drinks were on point, the food ample in quantity and flavorful in taste. The Fudgy Brownie was divine! Well-done! As I mention above, the final tally was a bit shocking. Otherwise, a great place to hang out; planning to return to avail of the Mon/Tue $25 Wine and Bruschetta Board special.

[EDIT only to correct to "Postino"]…read more I use the one-stars sparingly, I really do. This has nothing to do with the food, as we never got that far in the course of my miserable experience at this location (not sure if it's a chain or not). Walked into a relatively quiet restaurant somewhat later in the evening after strolling a bit in the summer Houston heat around the Woodlands. A couple of people recommended Postino. The issue arose when I asked for a possible menu modification. Specifically, I was trying to avoid GOAT CHEESE on the meatball dish I had my eyes on (which otherwise looked pretty tempting). The server indicated that they probably couldn't do it but I nevertheless requested this... a couple of minutes later the server returned with the bad news. Apparently, it simply had to be served as-is, according to the menu. This in itself wouldn't have got me to the point of writing this review. However, I, incredulous, was kind of laughing (you have to laugh) and said something like "so I can only order exactly what's on the menu, and the kitchen can't do anything different?" (slight paraphrasing, perhaps). There wasn't much further conversation with the server but within about 30 seconds of this exchange, a "manager" stormed over to the table and borderline-abusively shouted "is there a problem?!". This "mini-manager" as I will refer to her, proceeded to inform me that they could NOT accommodate changes because it would "violate the integrity of the restaurant" ... I of course I also found a bit humorous, and in this state inquired further about what sense it made to be so obnoxiously strict for someone just trying to grab a quick bite about 30 minutes before closing. I'm sensitive to the work involved in running restaurants and serving obnoxious customers, but I was NOT rude, obnoxious, or difficult. Just blown away by this treatment. I was then informed by the mini-manager that she was from LONDON which I assume meant I should accept that her cosmopolitan background and (I assume vast and high-level culinary experience) meant that I should shut my trap and stop being so picky. At this point I was compelled to mention that I, too, grew up overseas and was very surprised at this complete lack of flexibility. Within another 30 seconds or so of this dialogue, the mini-manager tipped the menu over on the table and abruptly shouted, "you know what, I'm refusing you service!" That made it all easy from there as we promptly (while laughing, partly out of shock) exited the facility. Huge disappointment and embarrassing in my view for a restaurant that seems otherwise to have maintained a great reputation - and especially so for the fact that service (and people in general) in Houston tend to be kind and accommodating, not typically RUDE or reactionary. I'm encouraging this restaurant to have a look at the service model. I can't say I'll try Postino again the next time I'm in Houston, but I certainly hope it continues to truly earn its 4.5 star rating, 'cause they sure did NOT when I was there this weekend.

We all had gumbos, and two of them were chicken-sausage gumbo, while one of them was a seafood gumbo. Guests were pleased with the chicken-sausage but the seafood gumbo was 4 notches above that in terms of chili-spiciness. The seafood gumbo was so hot I couldn't tell that there was seafood in it. The lumps could have been anything. I don't understand why chefs feel it is acceptable to use so much pepper and chilis. One can always add more at the table, but it's impossible to remove hotness. We ordered two catfish dinners, neither guest had much positive to say about them, but one of them was supposed to be blackened and both arrived broiled. The third order was mahi-mahi tacos. There again one could order blackened or broiled, and broiled was the choice. The mahi-mahi was dry and tasteless, the corn tortillas surrounding the fish were soft, wet, and fell apart. Overall, the ambience is pleasant, the service okay, but I would think twice before I'd ever risk another lukewarm experience.
