Grilled chicken sandwich

What beautiful diner vibes with the diner food to match! Came in and was able to immediately start to order my food on the kiosk. After ordering I took my beeper that you have to label with the correct letter to get your food. There was really no service because you pretty much do it all on your own, but when I they saw that I was taking sometime on the kiosk they did offer to help and offer a menu. My food took about 10min. To come out and when I saw it, it gave me diner vibes to the point I was hoping it didn't taste that way....... Butttt it did! Honestly I feel that it's overpriced for the food quality. Will I be back..? No, and that's a strong one. The ratting for how beautiful it is in here, and the friendly atmosphere from the staff.

What a fun atmosphere - it will make anyone feel like a kid again. Comforting nostalgia is something I think we all crave these days and it can be found right here. You order at electronic kiosks and pick your food up once your buzzer rings. Lots of comfort food staples like burgers, chicken fingers, chicken sandwiches, etc, but the real joy here is the ice cream. Thick milkshakes, sundaes, and blizzard-esque creations round out the menu and are a must get. Parking - private (albeit busy) lot

I enjoyed my trip to Buttermilk Baby a lot!! The exterior and interior are aggressively themed with cute cloud swings and retro styling. I think this is the perfect date spot!! My partner and I got sandwiches and fries. I thought the fries were great and i loved the grilled chicken sandwich. They specialize in fried chicken so I have to come back to try it. The grilled chicken sandwich was super good though and the caramelized onion added a delicious flavor. The carvel ice cream is super good!!! It's incredibly rich but light. The small ice cream is HUGE!! Vanilla with Oreo bits is amazing.

Great retro place to come and eat with friends! The sandwiches and burgers are the best!

Decent place to get burgers in Houston. Nothing was too special about it, I'd probably try the chicken if I were to come back.

First of all, let me qualify that I am a huge fan of the Carvel soft serve vanilla here for its texture and flavor; and it's one of my favorite go to desserts when I am in the mood and not calorie counting. And the managers and staff here are wonderful. So friendly and accommodating. Having said that this is my first opportunity to actually come in for a burger. A couple of little pieces of torn lettuce, under ripe tomatoes. The meat patties were OK, smashed and crisp. A soft and acceptable bun. but actually room temp to cool; doesn't appear to be toasted. If this was a $6 to $8 burger, no problem but at $13, this was a one time only burger, sorry to say. Most reminded me of a Wendy's burger. The last photo in my photos post is what I believe a 13 dollar burger should look like.

So the restaurant is extremely cute. Great for photos. The staff was very nice and and the food came out really fast. However the food itself isn't anything to be excited about. Biscuit was just ok and the chicken was kind of rough. Not much on the menu either. I would come back to try a milkshake but I don't think I will be rushing back to try any of the other meals.

I'm glad I waited for the lines to die down on this one. The exterior and interior of this restaurant is definitely its high point. I wished they invested some more into the service and food instead of just the building itself. Overall food wasn't horrible, but really isn't worth the cost and the vibe just felt dead when I went. Come for the pictures, not the food, but the food wasn't terrible, just very average. Would I Go Out of My Way to Try? No Would I Return? No Food Taste- 6/10 Ambiance - 8/10 Service - 6/10 Value- 4/10

What a darling restaurant! From the swings to the tables to the horse, this place is precious! It is self serve and offers a limited menu. I had the hamburger and fries with a Coke Zero. The wait was not long. Very busy! The ice creams look great but we were too full. The restrooms are an experience in themselves! Great place to bring the grands!

Tiffany M.

Sorry to disappoint but other than the aesthetics for cute photos the food here is below average, service non existent, and lastly the wait times are crazy long. They offer two kiosks at the counter to order from and have a few kiosk along the wall that never work causing an even longer delay in ordering. The menu is not posted at the entrance so once you get to the kiosk you have a family of 7 trying to figure out everyone's order on the spot. Talk about performance anxiety with 20 people behind you just staring. It's a cute concept but just wouldn't try again not worth the price or the wait. Updating to add the bathrooms are crazy dirty, I hate a dirty bathroom. They are cute but I would prefer clean VS aesthetic pleasing.

A fun glitzy atmosphere for desserts and treats accessible to the neighborhood. Expect very quick service where you enter your own order and get it delivered. The soft serve is excellent. Carvel branded machine so you can expect a dense yummy treat. Family friendly and simple.

We had a great time at Buttermilk Baby. What a fun place to go. It was bright, colorful and very family friendly. It is a counter /self service restaurant. It has burgers and chicken sandwiches and the shakes are fantastic. The burgers were good, didn't order fries so can't speak about that. Photo props for the avid selfie taker. Just a cool vibe , colorful interior and outside patio dining as well.

Jenn R.

Visited for the first time since it opened and was definitely excited to check out all the selfie walls -- the space is super cute and Instagram-worthy. There was a bit of a line to order, but it moved quickly and gave us time to browse the menu. We ordered cheeseburgers, fries, and milkshakes. The burgers were just okay -- nothing memorable or worth coming back for. The milkshake tasted good but wasn't very thick, likely made in a rush. Overall, it was a one-and-done visit for me. I enjoyed the aesthetic, snapped some fun photos, and experienced the vibe, but don't feel a reason to return. That said, the staff were kind and checked in, even though they were clearly busy.

Does the restaurant sing happy birthday to kids on their birthday? It may seem silly but my daughter wants to go here for her 6th birthday, but she has yet to have a birthday dinner where happy birthday is sung to her. I know she would love it.

No, they don't. It isn't a full service restaurant so the staff isn't coming to the tables except to clean them.

The menu is exceptionally well-curated, hitting that sweet spot of what Houston does best. comfort, creativity, and just enough flair to keep things interesting. The space matches the vibe: modern and minimalist with a subtle Chip-and-Joanna-Gaines touch. The drink menu is just as thoughtful. Even the well spirits are solid. We kicked things off with the deviled eggs topped with maple pork belly, easily some of the creamiest I've ever had. Do not split an order. Everyone at the table should get their own. For the entrée, I went with the Sunday enchiladas made with Killen's famous brisket. Smoke, salt, pepper and exactly what you want from a dish like this. Greedy Wings: 3/5 I really liked the yam glaze! It gave the wings a nice sweet and savory flavor. For me, though, the actual chicken needed more seasoning. It didn't taste like the wings had been brined or seasoned all the way through. I also would've loved a little more crunch on them. Give me that glaze with a well-seasoned, extra-crispy wing and we might have something! The service was great! Everyone was welcoming, friendly, and very attentive, which always makes a difference. Overall, I enjoyed my visit. The wings weren't quite a home run for me, but there was enough that I liked to make me want to come back and try some other things on the menu. I'll definitely be back!

It is tiny and packed tight inside, but they do have patio seating as well. Parking is very limited, but you can find street parking nearby. Reservations are highly recommended but walk ins are welcome. We had a few people taking care of us that night and they were all great. I was between a few items and they were very helpful in steering me in the right direction. We started off with a few bottles of wine to get the night started. From what I understand, their wine list is one of the things they are known for. Your only other option for an adult beverage is limited options of canned or bottled beers. I didn't really have a say in the wine we shared, but what we had was delicious and paired nicely with the items we ordered. For starters, we went with the highly recommended bread service. Get this! This bread was so good. I doubt they make it as ordered, but it came out like it was fresh out of the oven. It was a nice crusty bread with a fluffy interior served on a cutting board with a huge smear of miso butter. We then went with the Crispy Cauliflower which was one of my favorite dishes of the night. It was smothered in a gochujang aioli and reminded me of a general tso chicken or something. Very good. Thai Chili Rubs was next and these were so good as well. I'm a sucker for all the Asian flavor profiles and this hit that. For my entree, I ended up with the Pork Chop w/ Chutney. This was a huge chop on a layer of apple sauce and a wonderful chutney that contrasted the sweet sauce. Every layer worked well together. I will say the pork chop was just slightly over cooked, in some parts. It also came with green beans which was cooked just right. No room for dessert as we had another party to head to. Overall, I'm glad my friends picked this spot for their birthday celebration. I am now in the know about this place and will consider coming back in the future.

FM Kitchen is the same owner and supplies limited food items to PKL. I was still hungry evem though I didnt get to play, so I ended up coming here. They have a larger menu with more substantial items, although it's still a casual environment. I tried the prime chicken fried steak even though the waitress couldn't say which cut of beef it was. It comes with green beans and mashed potatoes which are pretty good. Outdoor seating was full on a nice evening so I had to sit inside. Unfortunately there was a huge birthday party table inside as well, so it was super loud. Just my luck, I came on a bad night for both establishments. I also tried their version of a painkiller which comes in a nice jar and is decent, just not very strong at all. Painkillers are known to be very strong tiki drinks so they missed the mark there. The price was only $10, so you get what you pay for. I recommend they add more alcohol and bump up the price a little for it to be a proper drink. I was a little confused on who the waitress was the entire time as a few different employees came to my table. Also, a 2nd waitress tried to take my order about 5 minutes after I had order. I understand the whole community effort thing, but if theyre going to do that they need to work on their coordination/communication so this doesn't happen. CFS - it was a little on the dry side since the meat was pounded so thin and that basically left mostly breading for each bite. I had a much better version in Ft Worth recently for around the same price and was even larger. The green beans came with sliced raw almonds and sautéed in garlic which were good and the mashed potatoes were decent. Overall, if I ever returned I would try their hamburger since it was another pretty popular choice on the menu.

In a nutshell...charming and cozy ambience, great Sake cocktail, ok food and service. The dining area is as if you walked into someone's cute, but modernish countryside cottage. Very inviting, and comfortable without being too casual. Our server was friendly enough but she didn't know her restaurants food or menu as well as one would have thought. When I asked what temp the duck breast was usually cooked to, she had no idea. Additionally, she was a little too eager to clear dishes before I was done. Again, very friendly, just not as "with it" as I would have expected. For HRW, I had the crawfish boulettes to start, the roasted duck as the main, and donut holes to finish. The boulettes were dense. Imagine taking the stuffing from Thanksgiving and compacting it down as much as you could, then batter and frying them. That's how they were like, but Cajun flavored. The duck was honestly even more disappointing. The flavors of the dish were very nice. But the duck, which our server finally confirmed was supposed to be cooked medium rare, was overly cooked to a well-done temp. Now if you do that, at least get the skin crispy. But no, the skin was limp and flaccid. The whole dish was two small pieces of duck...you wouldn't think it would be difficult to crisper the skin before sending. The savior of the night was the donut holes. Get them. Don't hesitate. Just get them. They were delicious. My wife's cauliflower starter and Greek fish were very tasty. Her Tahini cheesecake was less so. Overall I enjoyed the flavors enough to try another time. I just hope the food and service execution will be a bit better.
