amazing decor. so well put together and pretty. the staff was helpful and patient as i took my first time looking at their wide variety of food and bakery items. the food was lucious, spiced, and wonderful. this is my new favorite place to go for chai and a snack.

Bring your friends, order multiple desserts, and enjoy your feast! This is the place to go for a late evening dessert tasting with friends. They have many options available, ranging from cakes to knafeh to nutty pastries and more. If you're not familiar with the treats (we weren't familiar with most of them), the staff is very friendly and can provide explanations and suggestions. You can't go wrong with any of the options. Our personal favorites were the coarse knafeh and the layali lubnan

Very cute aesthetics. It's definitely got good vibes. I loved the interiors, it instantly transported me right back to Dubai. Plenty of parking outside. The servers were super sweet. I got a green tea and a sugar free chocolate cake. My green tea was amazing, 8/10 The chocolate cake was decadent, dense and rich. Perfectly sweetened with stevia, 8/10 It's lil on the pricey side so not for everyday but once in a while I wouldn't mind getting a $10 coffee to enjoy the ambiance here. I see myself revisiting.

Happy to have people in my life that introduce me new places that slip under my foodie radar. Taj A Sweet Cafe was new to me until recently. It's a cute cafe off Westheimer, near the Galleria. It's tucked away in a little shopping center and parking was plentiful. They specialize in Arabic and Turkish sweets, but you can't help but notice they have a great coffee program too. It's a small cafe, but seems to have plenty of seating and cute little nooks to just lounge and hang with your peeps. I was overwhelmed with the amount of items they had to choose from but the staff was very friendly and happy to help. I did a little research before heading over and saw that their specialty drinks were big hits. I ended up with the Biscoff Cloud. I don't usually gravitate toward iced drinks nor dessert type drinks, but I love Biscoff and had to try this. It took awhile to arrive at my table, but the wait paid off. This drink was exactly what I wanted it to be. I was expecting a sugar rush, but it came with three espresso shots which balanced out the sweetness. I could actually taste the quality coffee used. It had little bites of cookie inside which was a nice textural contrast. I also wanted to get a light bite and went with the beef fatira pie. This was a soft bread with a meat filling. It was packed with flavor. It was good, but it was a little too tangy for my liking. They also have a huge variety of pastries like baklava and items that I had never seen before. Overall, Taj A Sweet hit the spot. I will most definitely be back to check out some of their sweets next time and try some of their other coffee creations.

I got to visit this cute coffee shop for the first time after seeing it advertised on instagram. It is esthetically pleasing but always packed. I went to study and write yelp reviews so I was excited that it wasn't as packed when I visited. I can say that while I had a good time here and the bathrooms were bigger than most, there is a high probability that I will not be back. The chairs were just that comfortable to sit in for longer than 20 minutes, it is about $10 for a cup of coffee and I bought 2 of them, and the service is not consistent with pleasantries. I love supporting Arab and small business owners but this one just isn't for me.

My sister and I went to Taj A Sweet Cafe on a Friday night, and it was pretty busy when we got there. We ordered an iced matcha with honey, the Biscoff cloud coffee, and a waffle with Nutella, strawberries, and bananas. The matcha was strong -- I couldn't really taste the honey, but it was still good. The coffee was also strong, with just a hint of Biscoff flavor, which was really nice. The waffle took a while to come out because they were so busy, but it was rich, chocolatey, and totally worth the wait. It paired perfectly with the more bitter drinks we ordered and made for a great sweet treat. The cafe itself is beautiful, with lots of seating both inside and outside. They even have couches, which were super comfortable. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and I'd definitely go back.

Great place to get late night Middle Eastern, pastries, food, drinks, dessert, snack, snacks. Great service and the place was still very busy around 1 AM. Overall all the place was great, I recommend and would come back. Very friendly service!

Taj is the kind of place that is so good that the review just writes itself. In all honesty, everything that I've had here, from the savory offerings to the sweet offerings, and even the Ethiopian coffee that I discovered that they roast themselves was perfectly realized, and absolutely delicious. This is the kind of place that if I had a list of temp places to take someone visiting Houston, well Taj is now on that list. It is that good. I want to let the photo speak for themselves, but I also want to say that you must try the spicy meat pastry that carries the name. Fatira . Wow! Those of you who know me know how seriously I take coffee, as it is my hobby. I chose an Ethiopian pour over today and it was superb.. So I could go on and on but I think I will stop here, and maybe do a later update about the regional dishes: Qishta, Knafeh, Maamoul, Basbousa, Namourah, Younanieh, Hareesh, Oush.

I love the way this place looks from inside, it's well thought out and has a beautiful middle eastern aesthetic I've seen in Morocco and Egypt. There's wooden carvings, a beautiful mural, and lots of seating inside. You walk up to order at the counter, and the display case has tons of sweets and baked goods ready to purchase, as well as coffee. It's so hard to choose, because everything looked so delicious. My husband got one pastry and a coffee, and I did the same. I was a bit surprised that two coffees and pastries were $30, that seems like a lot but I figured meh? It looks delicious and I couldn't wait to dig in. Unfortunately nothing lived up to expectations or tasted as good as things looked. My coffee was so bad I left it, and had to go somewhere else to get my fix. My croissant was dense, and I ended up just eating the topping- slivered almonds and icing. I'm used to soft, buttery, flaky croissants so this was a disappointment. My husband didn't enjoy his pastry nor coffee either, and our friends who had been to this place before mentioned similarly that the price didn't tie to the taste at all. Was a bit of a let down and not a place I see myself retuning to.

I am all for another Arab coffee shop in Houston, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw how the differentiation in this cafe. The aesthetic is modern and marbelized Aladdin. The menu is full of coffee-based drinks and a decent few non-caffienated items like flambé hot chocolate and iced chocolate milk. What was alarming to me was the man behind the counter serving up a fat slice of Kunafeh from one of MULTIPLE large trays behind a glass. My eyes did not run out of sweets to feast on. The juiciness, freshness, and variety of baklava-type desserts was unlike anything I've seen in the USA. The baklava ice cream was a thick slice of baklava served like a pie with vanilla ice cream shoved right in the middle of it with the layer surgically topped back onto it. *chef's kiss* at the amount of pistachios, crunch, sweet, and general balance of both items together. The hot chocolate flambé needed more flambé and was nice but wouldve been a 10/10 if they had used real chocolate in it. That leads me to the dubai chocolate bar, which was a 10/10 for taste, integrity of structure, proportion, and aesthetic. My latte was GORGEOUS and complete with the perfect latte art flower on it. My eyes and my camera eat first, so the art was appreciated. The latte itself was nice, although this latte with a basic sugar-free syrup (syrups are store-bought and not made in house), costed me a whopping $7.85 before tip.

Turkish coffee with a couple of sweet bites.

The Turkish coffee kept me up and going for days! The delicious bites are a perfect pick me up and the customer service was amazing. The owner clearly thought about the customer experience , art , and best of all flavor. The restrooms are also accessible which one can always appreciate. Don't miss out on this gem.

Elegant and beautiful setting super fancy vibes. Serving traditional Turkish coffee in sand or modern favorites. We didn't try the Turkish coffee during this visit but were told it's really good and is quite strong, so if you're in need up a pick me up perhaps give it a try. The food and desserts looked amazing, we had the Dubai chocolate and it was awesome and it was in the shape of our great state of Texas even better!! Staff were helpful and informative since it was our first time visiting. Prices are as expected for this area of town, expect to pay a slight premium. My latte and shaken espresso with the Dubai ran me just over $35. Overall a great spot to visit if you're looking for a fancy cafe, fancy vibes and great sweets!

The ticket included $10 towards the meal, so I ordered a burger with fries. Not bad! I thought maybe they'd add a hint of pink to the food for the full Barbie experience, but I guess a burger fits the beach vibe too. Overall, the cafe is mostly about the aesthetics, with everything decked out in pink, but not a lot of interactive elements. I loved seeing the little girls skating around with their parents. I love the concept and idea of a safe place for cats and us being able to play with them so we decided to take time out of our morning to check this place out. The cats were friendly, mainly sleeping but it was well maintained and looked like a clean and safe environment for the cats. The reason for my low review is due to the way the business is handling a refund which I thought would be simple and is based on a confusion with their staff members. Online, it states a reservation needs to be made so while reading the rules, we made a reservation. I signed the waiver for myself and my 2 kids and walked in first. I saw they had a 30% military discount and asked if I could get a refund and repurchase. I was told she couldn't refund but since it didn't apply online, I would be able to email them and request for the difference back. Ok, no big deal. I paid for the second adult in store since now I know, we get military discount. Fast forward, I email and they refuse to give a refund. They said online, they can't verify that we qualify for the discount which is why we can only get the discount in store. I find it extremely rude for them to continue to emphasize that discounts are not applicable to online reservation since their system can't verify it when they could just simply ask for us to send through email our ID to get the price difference back like many other businesses would. I could also send the receipt showing where they did already verify us in store and where the discount is applied in store. The employee told me I would be able to request a refund and if I can prove my eligibility, I feel like they should honor it. They did offer a complimentary visit but again, I'm from Dallas so with this bad experience, I'm not enticed to return or recommend this place.

You get 1 canned/bottled drink from the fridge and you get a few handfuls of freeze dried chicken to give to the kitty cats. All of their bios are on the walls, just read their collars or ask the front desk girl. TBH This was a well spent $20 for something. All proceeds go to the supplies for the care of these beautiful babies. There were like,20 something cats, but the space is big enough and they have a lot of those robot self cleaning kitty litter boxes so it does not smell strongly of cats at all! There are plenty of board games and books to read, there are plenty of places to sit and outlets for your phone or laptop. I fell in love with one cat named, "Rome" but I was unprepared to take him home to Dallas. TBH the only thing I didn't really care for was asking the front desk girl about anything-- it seemed like I was bothering her.

I tried the Chocolate Royale and the Ruby. Chocolate Royale - a petit chocolate mouse slice with flat chocolate panels along the sides. It is delicate and tasty.
