Parking is usually easy to find, especially with nearby street options. I haven't tried anything from the café yet, but having one onsite is definitely convenient. The park is typically very clean and well maintained, which makes spending time there even more enjoyable. Their summer and fall event lineups are always great. It's such a good way to get outdoors, enjoy some fresh air, and feel connected to the community.

Nice friendly fellow dog owners. Located right along the bayou trail and very convenient for people who live in the area to walk to via the trails. There were about a dozen happy dogs in the small dog area the Sunday afternoon we visited. However for those who drive, the main drawback is the parking lot is very small. If you drive there and can't find a parking spot, the next closest parking lot is *probably* at Bayou Parkland (6532 Almeda Rd) and you'd walk your dogs via the pedestrian trails across the Bill Coats bridge to get here; probably a 10 minute walk. A very nice walk on a spring day but probably not in the middle of summer. Some online reviews elsewhere mention part of the dog park floods after rain events. Apparently some construction work has been done to try and alleviate this. I did not see any water retention as we were there on a sunny day but perhaps future reviewers can comment on this.

I remembered hearing about a dog park nearby and decided to come, only about a 5 minute drive from that exit. There is a dedicated parking lot which is nice, however it is a tad small, comparable to the parallel parking lot at Johnny Steele. There's dog washing stations, water fountains, and a neat water feature for your dogs to cool off. There's lots of grass and space for the small dog park. There is a sign stating only dog shorter than 15 inches allowed for the small dog park. There's two park benches and a concrete semicircle bench for seating. All in all, a great place for you and your dog to relax at.

I first visited when I moved to Houston, thanks to their free fitness classes, and this particular Saturday was no different. I appreciate that there's nearby street parking--some free, some paid--which makes it easy to access. What surprised me was that the yoga instructor didn't show up. Thankfully, one of the attendees stepped in and offered to lead the class. She had just completed her yoga certification, and it ended up being a great session. It just felt good to be outside, breathing fresh air and hearing birds chirping. Since my last visit, they've added a sunshade above Midtown sign (I love when they get different artists to ass designs to it!). Thank God! It made the sun much more bearable and gave us some relief during the class. Bagby Park is small, centrally located, well-maintained and always draws a good crowd due to the taco stand nearby. Any time there's green space in Houston, I'm grateful. It's a refreshing break from all the concrete and shopping centers.

Since prices have been mentioned, I will say that they ARE on the high side...I think my friend's beer cost $10 and my single shot drink was $17...BUT that's with 20% tip included. I wish they would mention that because I was a little confused since I didn't see a tip option and honestly I'm ok with not seeing the stupid multiple choice tip screen that guilts you into tipping more. Cute little local park…read more I took off a star because there were no swings for kids. We stopped here specifically so our 18-month-old could swing for a bit. That was disappointing -- they only had a big tire swing. Other than that, there are some grassy areas for kids to run around and a gazebo for gathering. A nice path around the park for walkers/joggers. There is bayou canoe access behind the park. The trail down was steep and rocky and the water was raging. So keep your toddlers close! Easy parking on the street.

I regret not going sooner. The weather was great, a little cooler. Ok no it was still hot but felt ok. There were many vendors and for a free concert and dancing outside, discovery green crosses off a lot of boxes. Check them out if you have never been. There was plenty of seating whether you want to be near the stage or at the tables, they have benches and plenty of green space. Great for kids and ok to bring pets. I parked on the street for no charge since I waited until after 6pm. Check out their schedule of events. Can't go wrong.
