Fruit tart, almond pear tart, and vanilla coconut frappe w two added shots
    Monique T.

This place was so unassuming, and delicious!!! We got the fruit tart- it was so fresh and not too sweet (I fell in love!) and the almond pear tart was so good too!!!! Incredibly fragrant and not too sweet. Their coffee selection was also great- I got the vanilla coconut frappe and it was so refreshing. I added 2 shots and it was perfection!

Love love love this little French cafe - the vibe is just wonderful

What a discovery ! Yelp has (or had) this suggestion like thing which started with, ' I was passing by and saw this hole in the wall'.... that Sunday it felt like Deja Vu, its a little french corner in Rice Village- so adorably cute. The interiors and furniture all reflect a vintage look. They have coffee, croissants, pastries, cakes, quiche, soup and more. (Although soup is available for lunch and after only ....after 11am) Got 2 croissants 1 plain 1 with almonds and chocolate Both were very soft and buttery. It was obvious that it was not made that morning , but that did not matter to me , the softness and taste confirmed it was not old either. It was a Sunday morning around 7 am! Oh... they carry eggs which they will boil for you. The place was swarming with people, - yes, even that early - so it must be popular place in the neighborhood. Also got coffee- A latte A cappuccino They were both great. You need to add your own sugar. I ordered mine extra hot so the taste lingered on for a while. What I especially liked- the newspapers and magazines lying around in wicker baskets. Coffee , Croissants, a beautiful Sunday morning, and current newspaper ! I can't think of a more relaxed way to start the morning before a long week.....

I believe this is a pear bourdaloue? It was fun to try!

I visited here back when I was in high school and felt like visiting again recently because I was craving french cafe vibes. We tried lots of different foods including the chocolate ganache cake, a pear tart that I believe is called pear bourdaloue, croque monsieur, ham quiche, provençal salad, spinach salad, iced mocha, and an iced milky way. In terms of quality of food, it was on par with most cafes. The quiches were nice and filled my body with warmth as I took my first bites. Out of all the foods we tried, I'd recommend the croque monsieur and the iced mocha! My cousin had the iced milky way and rated it a 10/10. The waiters were also very friendly and helpful when trying to decide what to order. One downside of this place is it pretty cramped as it is a small cafe, but I think that just adds to the aesthetic and I didn't really mind. I also wish the drinks didn't come with so much ice, I drink my beverages pretty slowly but even I finished mine very quickly. I wonder if you can ask for less ice in your drinks? Overall, it's a fun experience and there's lots of fun pastries & desserts to try! Perfect for a foodie looking to explore more places

Stopped here as another spot was closed on Mondays. Cozy indoor space with some outdoor seating. Semi -busy around 10 in the morning. Ordered a few items to try. Apricot Danish-stood out as you don't see this everywhere-delicious, Mushroom Quiche-just the right amount of mushrooms and savory-we enjoyed it, Croissant-flaky and buttery, and enjoyed my Cappuccino also. A nice selection of pastries and desserts as well Quiche (6 varieties) and sandwiches (Croque Monsieur) to name a few. Service was friendly and quick. Now added to my Cafe stops when visiting Rice Village.

Have been driving by this place and wanting to try it for years, and finally made it in! It was delicious and sooooo reasonably priced! It was also super cozy inside, had newspapers everywhere, and just felt super nostalgic and wholesome. I loved my red pepper chili soup and then we split the black and white cake which was light and great. Will 100% be back!

This place was popping when we went! Cozy on the inside with lots of tables and seats. The French onion soup was one of better ones I've had - good flavors and not too salty. Their spinach quiche... also good! Vanilla eclair was okay, next time I'd op for the chocolate one. Their sign also says "fresh squeezed lemonade" which I tried - there was no sign of pulp so not sure I believe that anymore lol. Their chai latte was delicious. Overall, good experience with the food and would go back. They don't have much of a system for when food is ready - so pretty sure 2 people after me got the French onion soup ahead of me - so definitely recommend waiting by the counter so you don't get passed up on!

Such a cute place for a quick brunch! The locals frequent this shop, as it was completely packed on a Saturday morning. I personally tried the oat mile latte and a slice of mushroom quiche. Both were delicious. I had no trouble finding a seat for myself, but I imagine it would be a little bit more difficult to find seating for a larger group. Overall, the vibes were immaculate.

Almond croissant and a flat white coffee

Today I stopped in for my favorite Flat White coffee and an Apple croissant. It was a little bit on the dry side and very dense, the customer service always impeccable and I enjoy sitting in the restaurant it's peaceful.

Love Croissant Brioche for our weekly coffee catch up with friends! There are limited tables outdoors and a cozy interior. The service is simple and efficient. Don't worry if the line is long, it moves quickly and you never know who you may share a communal table with. ;)

Counter service was good quick. Almond croissant was a couple of days old. Cappuccino not quite up to par. Place has some tables outside. Nice inside as well. Not a happy visit for me overall

Got the French onion soup in a cup. Hit the spot just right. Old style cafe friendly.

Right is carrot cake and the left is white and black chocolate cake

My friend and I came here for a coffee and cake lunch. The cakes were super delicious and soft, and not too overpowering. The coffee on the other hand taste very weak and watery. Maybe we came on a bad day. Other ladies at the desk were helpful and quick. The café was busy at this time so it was kinda hard to hear the staff. There was a lot of people here working on their laptops or studying. The tables and chairs are decent their waiter was constantly cleaning because it was super busy. Some of the chairs are a little bit wobbly, but that's fine. They do have an outdoor tables and chairs area if you want to bring your dog. There is street parking or parking lots paid by meter. Or the parking garage where the first two hours are free. You do not want to park in the lot next to the café because they will tow you.

Pretty good tiramisu! Around $7-8 a slice. Nice ambience. Wanted to try their almond croissant, but it looked kind of dry.

The stats is right, quality tends to go down after a restaurant earns their star and Le Jardinier…read moresadly falls into this bucket I was at Le Jardinier before they got their star, and revisited them after they got their accolade and how disappointing... First, since getting their star, they packed the indoor dining area with way more seats (I get it, the space is limited), but this got the space feeling SO NOISY and not suitable for having conversations (imagine trying to discuss business whether it's personal or work and someone is merely inches away from you). To set the scene for you, as soon as we got seated the waitress came to offer us 5 different kinds of water (sparkling, tap, cold, room, river from the fountain of youth you name it they'll have it). We asked for a minute to review their seasonal menu (plot twist, it's pretty much the same from season to season). She gave us a literal 60 seconds and came back to ask us if we're ready. We asked for more time. 15 minutes passed by and we tried to make eye contact with her, raised our hands to signal we were ready to order, all to no avail. We had to ask another waitress to ask our waitress to come... We usually go here for lunch and wanted just an entree for each of us. She tried to upsell us the tasting menu which we kindly declined. The waitress then informed us in condescending tone "are you sure? Because you are not ordering any appetizers this will take a long time to come out okay?" Yikes... To keep this comparison fair, I always get the branzino from their Winter menu. We asked for a burger with no buns and sauce on the side. Guess what came out with the burger? Yep, buns and sauces. We also ordered the risotto which was too salty and forgettable. Throughout the whole lunch, we were never checked on ONCE and had to ask another waitress to ask our waitress for water like a game of telephone. For a place with a star, I expected more from the service side of things. Very sad
