Croissant, brisket hash, and a Mont Blanc ice coffee
    Trinh N.

My 1st time here and I was truly impressed!! Next Door is nestled in a small neighborhood area in Cottage Grove- truly a neighborhood gem. I love the outside patio area. Very pet friendly and spacious. Upon entry, the coffeehouse was inviting with nice decor. One can order food/drinks from outside or inside. They use TenFold beans which is 5 stars in itself. We ordered 4 drinks (Starstruck, Mont Blanc, Shaken Espresso, and Cafe Mexicans) and everything was delicious!! My son loved loved the brisket hash. Honestly everything we ate was good. The only negative was the parking-It was difficult to find parking so be prepared for that. However we enjoyed the coffeehouse and will be back!!

Mont Blanc coffee - cold brew with a vanilla citrus cold foam!

I have a summer mission to try more coffee shops. This place was next on my list! It is attached to a chill looking neighborhood bar and it was a similar low key vibe. There is a small parking lot on the side. The inside is very cute, there is more patio / outdoor seating but I found a space on midday on a Friday. I did not get any food as I had recently eaten, but a lot of other people there were enjoying it. They get their pastries from a local baker and they looked yum! I got the Mont Blanc - a cold brew with vanilla citrus cold foam. It was a bit more citrus than vanilla but it was a fun and different drink than what I normally get. I definitely want to try more of what they have next time! Staff were very nice and attentive. The person behind me tried to order a seasonal drink they didn't have the exact ingredients for, but the barista went above and beyond to try to recreate the drink for him. I had a great time reading and enjoying my beverage!

My daughter and I visited for the first time, and we had such a great experience. The café is beautiful, clean, and very welcoming. We really enjoyed the coffee, it was excellent! The owner kind and knowledgeable, explaining the different coffee and recommending drinks that suited our taste. We can't wait to come back. Highly recommend!

Utterly flabbergasted. I just had the most trifling first experience at Next Door on Larkin. It was worse than I think that I could've ever imagined. This establishment needs a visit from the health inspector. There are literal pastries that are sitting out in an open area with flies and who knows whatever else, landing and laying eggs on them. I called my order in for to go, so if I would have seen this prior to entering the building, this would have deterred me from ordering whatsoever. However, when I opened up my sweet potato hash plate, there was a hair engraved in the poached egg...quite disturbing experience. when I went to return the food to the staff, they seemed unbothered and lacked empathy regarding the situation. They quickly provided me a refund, but did not apologize for the hair being in my food. I am genuinely considering reporting them to the CDC as soon as possible because that is disgusting.

Hint: ask for a drink with biscoff syrup or red velvet syrup since those are made in-house. I found Santa's latte to be relatively balanced for a seasonal brew. The Christmas Spirit pastry was definitely sweet but still incredible enjoyable as each component had its own flavor that it added. ''Twas a complicated dessert. The kouign amann was really something special. I'm not a huge fan of caramelized sugar crusts, but if you do then you'll love this. Our barista on Christmas Eve was so nice. I got an iced blueberry lavender latte with oatmilk, delish. Loved seeing their display of syrups, their machine is beautiful and loved the touch of using bottomless portafilters made my barista heart so happy If I could recommend anything to this shop it would be to start using names or numbers to call out orders from the counter. As a customer when you have to watch and listen for your specific order it can make the waiting period a little less enjoyable :/ and then you run into what I did, your coffee gets called, someone got the same thing, and now it's unfortunately up to the barista to tell them (& have to remember) whose it is ‍ Will 100% be returning. Loved the space. Loved the drink. Excited to try the pastries and experience it in a calmer environment!!

The static fit yoga class at Duo Houston with Lesbianland was such a good time. It was outside, the weather cooperated, and the energy was just right. A whole crowd of beautiful women, good music, and a space that felt safe, calm, and fun all at the same time. Morgan Brown led the class and really set the tone. It felt grounding but still had a little spice to it, not boring at all. After class, they had matcha and acai bowls and gave us 15% off, which I love because who doesn't want a little reward after pretending you can plank longer than you actually can. Speaking of... they had a planking contest and somebody held it for over five minutes. I tapped out mentally just watching. Only thing to note, if you want coffee you'll need to walk over to a nearby shop in Autry Park, but it's super close so no complaints there. Overall, great vibes, great people, and definitely a space I'd come back to.

Because I found this delightful spot for breakfast and caffeine. I'm a frequent traveler, and have already hit some incredible food spots here in Houston. This is now at the top of my breakfast and coffee/tea stops. Drink: I had a divine dirty chai latte with pistachio nut milk (a new milk for me) which really added a fresh twist on a classic morning beverage favorite. La Vita's owner, a very sweet and passionate man who clearly loves what he's doing here, shared that they fly in their chai in powder form from Italy. No nasty syrups or pre-mixed chai here and I can absolutely tell the difference! Food: I had THE BEST everything bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese since my last trip to Manhattan. I won't spill the beans on how they achieve this, but they have legit true NYC bagels here. DO NOT PASS ON THIS sandwich! You'll be very sorry you did. The ambiance is chill, with loads of seating, and the service is top-notch. I highly recommend you get over here as soon as possible! Thanks to Alex and team for a wonderful impromptu delight!

Make sure you don't park in Schlotzsky's - signs are posted. There is a hightop chess / checkers table, and Saturday morning even included a few people involved in dance lessons. Had an iced chai latte - exactly as the barista suggested - and it was delicious. They have a large coffee menu for the coffee lovers. Multiple flavors of NY style bagels are available, with a wide selection of spreads. They arrive daily from NY partially cooked - finished on site - and available until 12pm. Ordered up the Southern Burger - leaving off the serrano peppers - SO DELICIOUS! The fried green tomato was a perfect topper. I cut it in 1/4ths - still too much! Made the burger a meal - with onion rings. The perfect size ring! They also offer steak fries or brussel sprouts as a side - the sprouts are flash fried and topped in a choice of flavors. Several seating options inside + a partially covered patio.
