First and last time I'll be here. When I first arrived I got greeted nicely. I notice one of the two girls was doing some cleaning on the fridge while the other was taking orders which is fine. It was not busy. I got my order taken and I sat down. They called my name and I picked up my drink. My first taste of the drink seemed off as if it tasted like a cleaner but thought maybe it's me and not the coffee. The drink it self was not good but ok enough to drink. Kind of disappointed of the drink and the inside is not as large as I thought. I got home and I immediately ran to the restroom. I had not eaten anything else except the coffee. I even drove out of my way to try this shop. Just to get sick. I drink coffee on an empty stomach pretty often and this never happens. It truly does taste like banana bread, which I appreciated, since many spots lean artificial banana. The interior is fairly roomy and there is also some outdoor seating. Tried their matcha^3 drink, a play on the matcha^2 drink that everyone else started offering. The drink was okay, not overly sweet but also not a very strong matcha flavor; I preferred the drink to be borderline bitter with lots of matcha powder and minimal syrup. Came to try WAH Coffee for the first time, and it was a great experience! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and welcoming voices. First time trying Wah Coffee! We were in the area for an appointment and decided to stop by. Originally we were interested in matcha, but we went with espresso instead. This was recommended by the barista so that we could get a taste of the original drink. We were welcomed and greeted upon entering and the baristas were attentive and answered all of our questions! Ordered the Banana Bread Latte and the Brown Butter Salted Maple Latte with oat milk. The drinks were uniquely flavored and tasty. Only grievance is that the banana bread latte was a little messy. The drinks were iced. The straws were flimsy and difficult to get inside the cup. Aside from that, they were yummy! Overall, Wah is a nice coffee shop that I'd recommend. I would have liked the natural smell of coffee but the smell of the coffee mixed with the scented candles were unpleasant. I tried the coconut strawberry matcha and it had a fruity refreshing flavor, it was a bit sweet. The other one I tried was the matcha cubed. It was creamy and I got it half sweet and honestly that was the perfect amount of sweetness. The matcha flavor is subtle but everything blended well together with the milk and matcha. I stopped by to try Wah Coffee for the first time & I ordered : - Matcha Latte with matcha foam - Caramel latte with cold foam One thing to note is the matcha latte will be unsweetened if you don't add a flavor. Normally the sweet foam or cold foam adds a touch of sweetness. The normal cold foam they offer is sweet & super good (ordered with caramel latte) However the matcha foam (ordered with matcha latte) was not sweet. For their customer service I think it would be helpful to ask people if they would like to add a flavor or if they are ok with no sugar in the beverage they are purchasing. If I would've been asked this I would've switched my matcha to instead have regular cold foam. Instead of matcha foam. I was not disappointed because they have good quality matcha! So although no sugar was in my drink I enjoyed it as I prefer less sugary drinks. The quality of matcha should still be enjoyable without sugar & they offer that here! Went to the new Wah Coffee in Montrose to study. This place used to be a Starbucks. I got the matcha^3 which has a matcha cold foam. This place was really packed so I had to sit at the bar. It is really cold inside so I would recommend bringing a jacket or sweater. Their matcha is not as strong as other places but the sweetness still makes it good. They're located in a plaza so parking is easy; I did go early in the morning though so I'm not sure if it fills up later in the day. This place is pretty new, recently replacing the Starbucks that used to be there. The renovated interior is really nice and it'd be a good place to hangout if I lived in the neighborhood. However, I wasn't impressed with anything else. I ordered a quad shot iced latte with vanilla and almond milk. For $10 plus tip it was small, average and unmemorable. I'm fine paying $6-10 for coffee drinks but this just wasn't worth it. The order taker wasn't that friendly and seemed annoyed when I asked if they'd eventually have cold brew coffee after the soft opening phase. I'm not sure if I'll be back. I came today for the soft opening. I ordered the banana bread latte from the specialty part of the menu and you can choose if you want it made with coffee or matcha, I chose coffee. The coffee is strong but once you mix it well the banana bread cream helps tone it down and gives it a nice creamy taste as well. The employees and owner are very friendly and ready to help. Cute interior. I watched a customer in front of me order a decaffeinated drink. Their menu board states to ask about their decaffeinated options. The customer was told they don't have any decaffe. I ordered a flat white, thinking it would be the same size as their latte, which is 10 or 12 ounces. While waiting, I was asked, what kind of milk I wanted. I stated 2%. And then I was told they only have whole milk. Why bother asking me what kind of milk I wanted? What I got was more of a starbucks short, a small, 6 ounce cup for $5. I was a bit underwhelmed. I wanted a bakery item, but their case was empty. I am not sure how new this establishment is, but I'm sure their service will improve. read more
