Isa Matcha was sooo good! I tried the Banana Bread Matcha and it was easily a 10/10. The banana bread flavor paired perfectly with the matcha without taking away from the actual matcha taste. It was creamy, flavorful, and the perfect amount of sweetness. I also loved that you can tell they really put care into making their drinks. The matcha tasted fresh and high quality, and the service was great! Definitely one of my favorite matcha spots I've tried in Houston so far. I'll absolutely be back to try more flavors!
The hours and location were hard to find. I didn't realize the hours were only Friday-Sunday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. I finally found the place. It's inside a studio building that looks like a warehouse or basement. I got the matcha at 1/2 sweetness, and unfortunately, the matcha flavor was very subtle. I tasted more of the milk. I ordered the Malibu Matcha, which is basically a strawberry matcha, and there was barely any strawberry in it. There were little pieces of ground up strawberry, so even the strawberry flavor was subtle. Even after mixing it, I couldn't see any more pink color or pieces of strawberry. I also ordered the Vanilla Bean Matcha, which I knew would be basic. I think if you like sweetness, milky, and not a heavy grassy, umami flavor, you will like the matcha here.
My first time trying ISA and it was so good. The drinks were the perfect level of sweetness. I loved how rich and fresh the strawberry tasted in the Endless Summer Matcha. The New Yorker was equally delicious and made for the perfect sweet treat, especially with the cookie butter. The only downside was that I placed an online order for pickup and ended up waiting about 30 minutes past the scheduled time. It seems like they prioritize in person orders, so I would recommend just getting in line to order instead. Parking can also be a bit overwhelming, but I did not realize they offer a 10% promotion if you park on the street and walk. The ladies working there were very friendly, and you can tell they are doing their best.
Finally got to try this spot and Im so happy it's right in my neighborhood at least for the time being! It's a small pop-up next to The Waffle Bus with a few outdoor tables, but it definitely seems like more of a grab and go kind of place. The space is super cute. I love what they've done with the branding and overall vibe. I ordered the vanilla bean matcha and it was honestly so good. The matcha had that really nice vibrant green color and you could still taste the earthy flavor even with the vanilla. I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed it. It seems like a younger crew running things so service might not be great but they've got a solid product and that's what matters. I'll definitely be back!
Finally got to try Isa Matcha and it lived up to the hype. They have a little counter by The Waffle Bus which was cute. Service was quick and efficient and the employee was really kind. We ordered the iced banana bread coffee and then the New Yorker matcha. The banana bread coffee was good, but I couldn't taste the banana really. I give it a 7.5/10. The cream on top was good. The New Yorker was delicious- had a miso cream on top. Gave it a 9/10. I definitely will be back on a prettier day!
I out off trying isa matcha for awhile until my friend suggested that we try it. They used to be in eado but have recently relocated to the Montrose area. Apparently you can not park in the parking lot even though they own a space there, you have to find street parking. Line was decently long but it moved fast. They have no indoor space but there are tables and benches available outside. I got the New Yorker, which is a cookie dough matcha with miso. It's supposed to have a sweet and umami like flavor. The matcha was promising with a nice green color, but I thought it was just ok. It was on the diluted side, the matcha flavor wasn't that strong. The cookie butter foam top or whatever they had on top was so good though. I felt like I couldn't really taste any miso though. I think this drink had good overall flavor, but not from the matcha itself
This cute shop was such a treat. Only open on weekends so be mindful of when you are trying to pop in. I very much enjoyed how pleasant the decor and aesthetic was. The matcha itself was an 8 on a 10 scale. Not too grassy but still deep enough to catch the flavor. They have 6 matcha options which I liked so the line moved quickly and I didn't feel overwhelmed. I got the traditional matcha and the strawberry matcha and they were both great. A bit pricey for an iced beverage though. To be expected in these times though I guess. I will be back. Mostly street parking although there is a parking lot, it just seemed chaotic and I didn't bother.
Isa's prices weren't bad! It was $8-$8.50 per cup. I got the banana bread matcha and New Yorker matcha. The banana bread was okay the banana flavor was faint and I mostly tasted cinnamon. The New Yorker was the cookie dough miso and omg that one was delicious! Sabrina got something from their summer menu which was a mango matcha. The mango matcha was my least favorite bc it didn't even taste like mango. My friend got their Malibu matcha (strawberry coconut) which was pretty good and had a slight flavor of coconut.

The service was quick and friendly, and surprisingly not too busy at the time I came. I ordered the New Yorker Matcha because it sounded really unique--a cookie dough matcha with some miso flavoring. It was so delicious! It had the perfect amount of sweetness, and I thought the color of the matcha was perfect. My only complaint about Isa Matcha is the price. It is pretty expensive--I paid almost $10 for an average-sized matcha. Because of the price, this place would probably be a treat and not a go-to.

The shop has a stunning New York sidewalk vibe with cute outdoor tables--the perfect location to sit down, read a book, and enjoy the scenery. I highly recommend ordering their latest seasonal creation because they did not miss. The "New Yorker" was incredible, featuring a rich cookie dough syrup and crumbles that kept the drink perfectly balanced and delicioso without being sugary. In this service was excellent. The 3 baristas at the counter we're amazing and delighted to recommend a drink to me. Go get you one!
Isa Matcha now has a new permanent location! I originally went to their East End location, but as of 12/13/25 they are now more centrally located in Montrose. This new location is connected to the Waffle Bus. I believe the owner's name is Andrea, she's super sweet and all of the staff was very friendly. You can tell how passionate the team is about their new location. Service was on point with all of their drinks made to order. Drink wise, we tried their limited edition horchata matcha, the banana bread matcha, and the New Yorker matcha hot and iced. 10/10 would recommend all of it! The matcha is very high quality, and no matter which flavor you choose all of it was fantastic. They also have espresso available as well if matcha isn't your jam. Next time I'm getting their hojicha for sure. Congratulations on your new space Isa Matcha! This is my favorite matcha spot in Houston and I'll be a regular here without a doubt. Enjoy!
Love Isa! It's a small business right next to Third Space Studio Pilates, so it's the perfect place to grab a matcha after class. I got the banana bread matcha and it was sooo good :D creamy, earthy, w the perfect amount of sweetness. Since it's a smaller new location with limited staff, the wait can be a little long, but it's completely worth it. Definitely recommend supporting this little local gem!
Without a doubt, ISA is one of the BEST matcha spots in Houston! I've been coming here religiously for the past few months, and as a true ISA girl, I can confidently say every drink is a 10/10. You can tell they put so much love, care, and attention into every drink they make. The quality of their matcha is unmatched, and it's obvious they use high-quality ingredients. One of my favorite things about ISA is that they're always innovating with fun, seasonal flavors, so there's constantly something new and exciting to try. The staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to accommodate requests whenever possible. They truly go above and beyond to create a great experience. While they're currently operating from a temporary location, the quality of the drinks has remained exactly the same and that's what keeps me coming back. ISA never misses. My friends and family know that I absolutely love this place DOWN! If you're a matcha lover in Houston, this spot is a MUST-try. 10/10 across the board!
Tried this place for the first time. It was still at a temporary location (this time in a cool clothing store). Match itself was 5/5. I got the banana matcha and it tasted super delicious and the matcha flavor def came through. A bit pricey at $8. Only thing I didn't like was that there was no trash can inside or outside so I had to walk a bit to throw away my cup. read more

PSA: BE SURE TO CHECK INSTAGRAM FIRST FOR THE LOCATION!!! I went to the address that is located on here and on apple/google maps, only for it to be somewhere else this month. Isa is currently being served inside Onli (very cute fashion shop). Heads up, parking here isn't the best since its located in a shopping center! The whole staff was super sweet and the service was quick! I ended up ordering the Banana Bread Matcha - it comes with homemade banana bread syrup. It was delicious and definitely had a nice banana bread flavor, but nothing life changing. My only complaint is that I didn't feel like the matcha itself was very strong or pungent, which is something I personally prefer. Overall its still a solid drink 8/10 read more

Had a chance to try Isa Matcha with family! We ended up trying the Banana Bread Matcha, Coconut Crème Matcha, and the Maple Matcha. Overall, all of the drinks were pretty solid, and they hand whisk the matcha after you order so you know it's freshly made. The color on the drinks were good, and I felt like it was a good balance between milk and matcha. It was a little bit on the sweeter side, but overall I enjoyed the drink. Out of the three that we tried, I would put the Coconut Crème at the top followed by the Maple Matcha and then the Banana Bread. The vibes of the place are pretty relaxed with Japan influences, and it's located within a 4 minute walk from Ironworks so you can support local! Service was great, and drinks came out in a timely manner. Definitely a good addition to EaDo! read more

This place was so cutie! It's in a parking lot in the Heights peeking out from the waffle bus. I came by with a few friends and we got a variety of drinks. The employees were really nice and recommended cool stuff. I got the New York one, and I kid you not everything looks so good and the flavors are so creative I want to try them all. There isn't much seating, there's some standing room. They seem to do fun events and introduce new stuff all the time! Recommend following them on social media. read more

We stopped by here after seeing a show at Stages Theater and found quite a treat. While there is limited seating inside the lattes were delicious. I had the vanilla iced, my husband had the banana bread iced latte matcha and my daughter had the Blue coconut iced latte matcha. The employees were very nice and quick. They even made sure my name was spelled correctly on my cup. They will moving to a more permanent location in September. I'm sure they'll have more seating then. read more

Came with some girlfriends for a matcha date. Don't park in the lot since they're considered a pop up, so you'll have to find street parking instead on Mandell. We got the New Yorker, banana bread, vanilla bean, endless summer, and vanilla hojicha. The standout and everyone's favorite was the vanilla hojicha. It was roasted and buttery tasted and was really well balanced. Everyone's least favorite was the vanilla bean. It didn't really taste like anything except regular matcha, but the drink did taste watered down. The endless summer was my second favorite. Really can't go wrong with a strawberry matcha. The New Yorker wasn't as sweet as I thought it was going to be which was nice. You could also taste the homemade syrup in the banana bread matcha. Overall, this is a solid option for matcha! read more

Yummmmmmmm, when I finished my first drink- I knew I wanted to come back. But bring my husband bc parking is not fun :) 4 stars could be turned to 5 if they had more coverage for rain and an indoor seating lol We got the New Yorker and valentines exclusive creme brulee. The matcha was really good and you can tell they use a good quality matcha and aren't stingy with the grams per serving. I like their unique flavors, cookie dough and creme brulee is amazing with matcha. They really make it work. The cookie dough tasted legit and creme brulee has the perfect caramelized, crunchy top. The cream on top is not too thick and sweet (like La La land) where I need to take a break, I was inhaling the drink as a whole You're close to loud traffic and people feeding their own ego by revving up their engine lol. It's a cute area though. Just kind of a lot of trouble with not having seats and not the biggest parking lot. You're around a lot of neat stores tho. read more

First two times I came at their location in fifth vessel, I loved both of my drinks - the matcha with coconut water and their vanilla fig latte. At their new brick and mortar, I ordered their banana bread latte and didn't like it as much. Only outdoor seating at a large window , a small lot shared between other businesses. Hope to see them bring back their previous drinks I loved. read more
Stopped by Isa Matcha on a Saturday about an hour before they closed. I ordered the banana matcha latte. When I ordered they let me know that they'd run out of all their cold foams which sucked, but I still wanted to try the drink. I still enjoyed their matcha, it had a good flavor with a slight banana flavor. I would like to try them again, I just wish they were open more than three days a week. read more
Today I decided to to stop by because I had been wanting to try this place in some pop-up locations but didn't get the chance too. I ordered the matcha hot chocolate that is only served hot. The matcha tasted very authentic, however with a name like that and the only thing making it seem like a hot chocolate was toasted marshmallow was somewhat disappointing, I was expecting a mix of hot chocolate and matcha flavors. As I mentioned earlier the matcha was great is just that the name is misleading compared to what you actually receive. Service was quick and it's an a nice part of town with a nice patio but no indoor seating. Hopefully the other drinks aren't misleading but I will be back to try more of them. read more
isa matcha has the perfect ratio of everything you would want in a drink. i tried the new yorker which has a miso cold foam and chocolate chip cookie dough pieces. although intrigued, i didn't know if the combo would work. however it excelled any expectations i had. the cold foam was just ever so slightly salty and savory, while still allowing room for the matcha to shine. when you finish the drink you can enjoy the crispy chocolate cookie pieces too spectacular!! i hope they can stay open for more than three days out of the week soon. read more
Cute little industrial shop with indie decor. It was a bit hard to find since there wasn't a lot of signage. My banana matcha had a very realistic banana bread flavor, but as a result, the matcha flavor was diluted. I would've preferred more of a balance between the two. My friend's hojicha drink was really good though, you could actually taste strong hojicha notes. Their menu had a lot of unique flavor profiles, so I would like to come back and try more drinks. read more

I loved the matcha here, it definitely leans more toward a sweet treat than a traditional matcha. What really makes it stand out is the foam and the toppings. I tried the New Yorker matcha, and the cookie toppings were sooo good. The only downside is that the matcha base itself is a little too milky for my taste. Overall, I'd give it a 7/10! read more

Isa is always busy for a reason. This is a matcha with almond milk and blueberry, 1/2 sweet. It's SO GOOD. Please keep the blueberry flavor!! Can't wait until they are in a bigger, more permanent location to fit all the happy customers! read more

There was a pop-up for creamed right next-door so I went to go and check out creamed but grabbed their Matcha and it was actually pretty good. It has just the right sweetness and they also have an option for people who don't like sweet Matcha. There is a small seating area but for the most part, I think it's just walk up service. read more

It's popular for a reason I got the New Yorker it had a great balance of sweetness but not overpowering the matcha . It's not like other places where it's just milk and a HINT of matcha . Do I like a more strong flavored matcha . Yes . BUT that doesn't negate from it being a good drink . It didn't taste like matcha with those store bought sweeteners I HATE that . I think I'd ask for more matcha in my drink next time . read more
