Cute place to grab a chai latte after meeting friends for brunch. The good. Easy to walk across the street from Barcelona. I already had parked. Otherwise parking might/would have been a challenge. The chai was hot and not too sweet. The green cup and saucer were so retro. The place is so cute and cozy. The not so good. The line was so long. It was midway to the entrance when our party of four entered. By the time we got our drinks, the line was out the door. No real place to sit. We were lucky to get a place with four seats at the counter as someone left as we were getting our lattes. My friends actually ordered their coffees to go because they didn't think that we would find a seat. Prices are high for what you get. Everything is an add on. Milk choice. Addition fee. Flavor additional fee. It runs the cost up. Would I go back? Not so sure. Common Bond is right next door and had a lot more places to sit down with friends.

Agora is such a cute coffee house filled with plants and Greek decor. I've passed by the outside a few times to dine at other places, but this was my first coffee experience here. The line was about midway up from the entrance when our group walked in after brunch. It moved a little slow. The line was to the entrance door when we all got our drinks and luckily found some bar seats near the register. Both floors were occupied by groups or people on their laptops. You have to excuse yourself through the narrow spaces since it was busy. There's a steep staircase to the second floor, and a single men and women restroom is on the first floor near the stairs. The drinks came out quickly, and the coffee was hot enough to drink without burning your tongue. I think it's overpriced when you add a syrup, espresso shot or milk alternative. I ordered a latte for $5.50 and added vanilla for $1 and oat milk for $1.25. Without tip yet, it was $8.34 with tax. Yes, some coffee shops also charge, but some don't, and it's just as good. The coffee was ok. I think there was a little too much vanilla syrup. There were pastries for sale, but we just had brunch, so we didn't try them. It was nice to see what this place was all about. I would maybe go back, but I wouldn't go out of my way. Common Bond is next door, and there's an abundance of coffee shops in the area where I live.

Matcha Latte

I've heard Agora is a go-to study spot for Rice students as they stay open late. They really try to maximize their seating as the tables and chairs are very close together, especially on the second floor. I had an iced matcha latte, which was very basic and tasted like one you would make at home with some powder and milk. They charge extra for milk substitutions. I was glad they had self-serve sweetener packets available, although I wish there were some menu option to have the drink made sweeter. They also sell an assortment of pastries. There is a small parking lot that filled up shortly after they opened in the morning. You can find free street parking and walk a ways otherwise. The women's bathroom was strange in the sense that you walk in, and there's only one stall, with a sink outside the stall, so there was a long line of people waiting inside the bathroom for the one stall. I feel like for such a large and busy cafe, they should have more than one.

This place is cute, not a crazy amount of seating but definitely en out high for a cute little coffee shop. Coffee was okay, and really I mean just meh and meh me not want to go back... Didn't love the service we got when going in. We walked up to the counter and were just stared at as if we were unwelcome. Person helping was not quite friendly or helpful Thought it was cute & quaint. From other reviews we were excited to experience the atmosphere and coffee but really we got mediocre coffee and bad service

One of the best coffee spots in town. Their coffee is super yummy. In fact, we just bought a bag of their blend for the house. Their pastries are also super tasty! Always fresh, always yummy. Lastly the vibe is great! Inside or outside, awesome spots to chill in and enjoy a yummy cup of Joe.

Perfect place to study or catch up with friends in. Warm atmosphere and great service. The overall aesthetic was giving greek art museum/dark academia. Loved all the art on the walls and the dark decor. I got the lemon bread, pumpkin chai and a pumpkin bread to go! All were absolutely delicious. The bread was moist and not overpoweringly lemon. The pumpkin chai was amazing, again not overpowering on the flavor side but a perfect balance of the sweet pumpkin and spicy chai. I did try a lil of my friend's strawberry matcha and it surprised me! Most I've had either use a strawberry purée or apparent syrup, this had neither but it didn't taste like strawberry milk! 10/10 no notes. Very small parking lot but plenty of street parking

Neat coffee place with a greek theme. Lots of seating upstairs downstairs, indoors outdoors. We did not have any pastries but they looked pretty good. The matcha was okay with a blueberry twist. I might prefer a normal matcha more.

One of my favorite places in Houston. They have both coffee and wine available as well. The pastries are great! It is always busy but does not feel crowded. I love the eclectic Greek decorations and abundance of greenery in the place.

I wish I would've gotten more photos here because it was so beautiful but honestly so busy too! I had a spinach quiche and it was amazing! This would be a great spot to study or do work solo!

Fantastic atmosphere, the matcha is amazing. Love the seating and service. Awesome for morning coffee AND night owl coffee.

Decent. Coffee is average. The vibe is what makes it cool. Hard to get parking. Good to visit at least once. Friendly workers.

Danish, croissant, Vietnamese coffee and classic americano!

My ham and cheese croissant was delicious. Fresh made coffee, served as it should be- in a mug! Plenty of chairs with humans sitting in a groovy vibe!

Banana nut bread Pistachio baklava Nutella pastry Plenty of options and service staff is also willing to help. Definitely a drink & chill spot!

Our friend booked a reservation and was able to add a fourth person without any issues. It's on Westheimer where all the restaurants and shops are, so it's pretty busy. You can either park on the street or in the neighborhood behind. There's bar, small table and booth seating available. One of our friends who arrived early got to switch us to a booth since we'd have a few plates to share for the four of us. My friend and I shared the NA red sangria. I liked that there was a NA option for that, and you can choose either red or white. We ordered a pitcher since we were sharing. It was delicious and refreshing. I think I had about 3 wine glasses of it. Our group shared the red fish à la plancha, patatas bravas, spinach frittata, olive oil pancakes and bacon-wrapped dates. Some of the dishes were bigger than others. Tapas is meant to be small plates, and they were, but it's a little overpriced. For example, the red fish was $15.50 for maybe 2 oz of fish. The stack of olive oil pancakes were small and thin for $8.50. If you're sharing, it's not that much food. I was going to order another personal stack of olive oil pancakes because that cinnamon butter was so good! I decided not to after I let all of what we ordered and drank settle for a bit after. The valdeon whipped blue cheese under the bacon-wrapped dates didn't taste very good and seemed grainy to me. It was my least favorite. The standouts for me were the olive oil pancakes, spinach frittata that was actually loaded with more veggies and bell peppers and the patatas bravas which was piled with potatoes topped with mayo that melted down and looked almost like melted cheese on top. It's a fun place for friends to gather or a cute date spot. You may or may not be hungry after depending what you order. There are larger plates/entrees like paella and branzino to share.

The pork chop had a beautiful char and was full of flavor--slightly undercooked, yes, but still delicious enough to carry the whole meal. I do wish they had mashed potatoes on the menu, though... it would have made it perfect. We also shared the Brussels sprouts, and sadly, they missed the mark this time. Dry and bitter, nothing like the saucy, flavorful version I've had before--maybe just the late hour catching up with the kitchen. But even so, that pork chop... it lingered in the best way. And sometimes, that's all you need.

I experienced this side of the business during the early phase of the Covid pandemic back in 2020. At the time, during lockdown, going to a wine bar or wine shop just wasn't top of mind. However, I had researched a Cabernet Franc (red wine) called Nicolas Reau Enlèvement Demandé Anjou [Vintage year: 2017]. Reau is kind of a rebel working in the Loire Valley of France who is interested in producing organic, biodynamic wines that are essentially closer to nature and processed differently--more artisanal, so to speak. I read about this wine and wanted to find a bottle locally, which wasn't an easy task as I recall. This is where Vinology comes in. I'm not much of a wine drinker, but had to have a bottle of this excellent wine. Like many people, I preferred to stay indoors during the early part of the pandemic and was kind of nervous about going out. When I called Vinology, I expressed my dilemma, and the guy on the other end of the phone came up with a great solution. He offered to deliver the bottle of wine I purchased to my address. I actually met him at the edge of the garage entrance to where I live. This was great, exceptional above and beyond service. I will always treasure and remember Vinology and plan to support the business more in the future. Hats off to the folks who own and run this wine establishment.
