Finally came back here after not coming for a few years. It's right next to my vet that I go to so I like to treat myself after taking my pets over there. I believe the first time I came here. I had some breakfast tacos and an iced latte which I did really enjoy. Today I went, and I had a chorizo empanada, a Horchata doughnut, and the Neapolitan latte. The empanada was nice and hot, I do wish it was a little more flavorful but next time I'll probably just add some hot sauce or something. The inside looks really cozy however I didn't stay and eat there since I had my pets in the car. The Horchata doughnut was interesting, was not what I was expecting, but didn't hate it. The Neapolitan latte taste like dessert, was definitely on the sweeter side which the cashier had warned me of. But overall, I really enjoyed it. I do love that they use Bendy straws, it's one of the only coffee shops I've been to that has consistently used them lol. read more

Very cute little shop I had no idea existed. It's rosca day and I'm like dam where can I find a good rosca. Yeah there is el bollilo, mi tienda and hacienda bakery but this one caught my eye when going throughly insta. Let me tell you the bread was soooo good and the decor was super nice. It even had nanches which aren't my fave but my families so that was a very nice surprise. Had guava pieces as the jewels of the kings and candied oranges. Normally I avoid rosca because the bread as I mention is dry or too hard but this one was very good, I'm guessing it's the same dough as their donuts and I would take it! I called and asked if there were any and the lady was like I hear how overwhelm you are so I'll just set aside this one on display. Papa blesssss! Found my new go to spot for rosca! I hope in the future they have different flavors or even preorders because I def would place one. read more

Post Pilates, the husband asked that I pick up some coffee and donuts on the way home, counterintuitive to my workout but dang it I had EARNED those donuts so it wasn't hard convincing me to grab some on the way! I feel like I'm perpetually on the hunt for a good donut AND coffee shop, usually I've found places that are either or, and it feels like finding a place that does both well is a bit like searching for a unicorn. This came up as being close to my Pilates spot, and I'm glad I stopped in. The coffee was fantastic! My husband asked for the Mexican Mocha (and the mocha is made in house, so good) and I had the coconut honey latte, iced. We both thoroughly enjoyed our coffee's, they were smooth, velvety, and gave us the jolt we needed. The donuts were standard. Nothing great, nothing to write home about. I've been frequenting this place while in the area for work and I can say it is well worth it. The coffee is a nice roast, it complements the sweeter drinks more in my opinion. I usually get a pistachio latte but today I tried the coconut honey late. I always forget coconut milk isn't as creamy and the entire late was a little too watery for me. I've tried the breakfast empanadas and they are all wonderful, I usually just add a little hot sauce and I'm good. What separates this shop from others is the unique interior, the friendly owners/staff, and distinctive items available. As you look at the display of pastries/donuts for purchase, you'll see a menu containing Latin-American favorites that you don't find at your typical Starbucks. Stuff such as egg & chorizo empanadas, churro waffles w/ fruit, and the chorizo biscuits & gravy are tasty breakfast items with that latin twist. Meanwhile, sandwiches and lunch plates such as the mofonguito bites have unique flavors and tastes involved. And of course coffee and assorted coffee drinks are available too. The ham and cheese samich's shape was unique to me. The bread reminds me of a cinnamon roll because of the spiral. The bread was kind of soft with a more dry fluffiness. The ham, cheese and mayo was ordinary. The dish comes with thick but not very crunchy plantain chips. I couldn't see the refrigerated desserts due to the condensation. First staff member didn't offer to wipe it or seem eager to sell any of them. The coconut pineapple cake was a dense yet soft white cake. The cream was sweet and thick. They still offer a few sandwiches with a discount at Happy Hour (4-6pm), but the A La Mode desserts aren't available for discount anymore. read more

This is a great little shop that has a lot to offer. They are awesome for breakfast and have both sweet and savory options. Everything from pastries to breakfast sandwiches and tacos. They have a full coffee bar with espresso drinks, including some fun and unique flavors (like El Diablo, that comes with a dried chili pepper). Super cute and upscale donut/pastry shop! I loved the assortment of breakfast food they had and donuts. The food was amazing (sprinkle donut and avocado toast) and the caramel latte I ordered was good, but a little bitter so would have liked it to be a little more sweet. The food did take a little longer to get out than expected considering it wasn't super packed when I stopped by. I also might have overlooked it but didn't see any high chairs which was disappointing and made it difficult for my 1.5 year old to stay seated. First of all this is one of my favorite coffee shops. My kid loved the donuts. Egg bites are good and so the breakfast tacos. My only complaint is you order at the counter and they hand you your food. It's a business transaction with no service provided but when you pay with a CC you are then prompted to tip (starting at 18% of course). Food is not cheap here so you'd think they include any gratuities in the price. Comfortable atmosphere. read more

Coco's is an odd little place. The decor isn't quite sure what it wants to be, but maybe that's the point. Or maybe it's just not that important because, whatever, the coffee is damn good. They do a latte that I'll take over the corporate coffee chains any day of the week. Add to it a nice light lunch--the Mexican BLT isn't much different than a regular BLT, but you won't regret ordering it--and Coco's is a quirky, fun little neighborhood coffee stop. The people are friendly and quick to serve and to please. Stop in and give a local joint some love. You'll be glad you did. read more

The young boy at the counter is very young and needs some hospitality training. He did not listen when I gave my order. So I was sitting waiting on a sandwich that was never ordered. Also, he said they ran out of silverware so he gave us flimsy plastic ones. The ham, egg, and cheese taco was uncooked and not authentic. For $3.50 my taco should have at least been cooked. It is very cute inside. You can tell someone put a lot of details in the interior design. My new favorite donut place!!! I am not a big donut fan, but my son wanted to check this place out, so we did...so glad he suggested it! I find donuts to be too sweet and greasy... so usually eat one and I am good for months. These were completely the opposite! Perfect level of sweetness and no grease at all!! Grand Opening Monday, June 24, 2024. Food, Games, Music - Prizes Cute new late night Hangout in Oak Forest. Robert & Sylvia have opened this cute little Coffee/Donut/Sandwich shop. Their daughter, Ruby is the Manager and she could not have been more pleasant. They are not officially open so I brought home my goodies. The pastries looked delicious. They are all baked in house. I had the Cuban Sandwich. Delicious! The flavor was so good - lots of meat. I also tried the little Egg/Bacon bites. Very flavorful. The sandwich was $12.00 - I think that is reasonable. The bites were 5 for $5.00 - that might seem a little expensive. The place is so cute. They really totally gutted the prior restaurant that had been in the neighborhood for many years. The did use some of the original wood that was from when it was Monterrey's House when I was growing up in the 60's/70's. They have a little corner game nook. The hours are from 6:00 am - 10:00 pm weekdays and open until midnight on weekends. I can't wait to come back and try the coffee. They have 4 different flavors from all over the world. Took my toddler in here for a donut at the recommendation of his high school aged brother that goes to Waltrip and comes by to get food before band practice. They let my child pick his own donut. He didn't eat a lot of it (very sweet) but we picked one out for his other brother. I ordered the matcha latte and when I said it was bitter the super sweet and friendly front desk lady took it to the bar and had the man doctor it up for me with sweetener & it was much better! The service is great, clean bathrooms (beautiful gold sink) and the environment is quiet if you want to study or work or just chat. I miss the Mexican restaurant that was here that I grew up on but this is much needed in the area especially for Waltrip students and staff such as my oldest son. Will be back! read more
