Updating my review to stay up with the times. I've been on a health kick lately so I rarely splurge on donuts -- or desserts for that matter. Still, I bring my son to Robin's on a regular basis. It's sort of become our place. My son loves everything he tries here and often asks for more -- whether kolaches or donuts. And me? Well, I can't help but cave on the Mardi Gras donuts. They are sooooo good. I had one last week - and another today. It makes me wish that Mardi Gras was year round. When we are in the shop, I see the same faces. Weak moment! Yes im suppose to be cutting back of sweets, but unfortunately these donuts looked so good, I couldnt resist a strawberry shortcake and a chocolate-covered Bavarian cream, definitely worth the stop and good enough for me to return. The young man behind the counter was super sweet and helpful in helping me make my decision. There were just too many options for me to make up my mind. I decided to order an iced coffee to compliment my Donuts, and I was told this was one of their most popular drinks, I see why, it was creamy sweet and delicious. I LOVE a good donut, and I drove from Memorial city to try these out because I was getting recommendations left and right! Definitely NOT disappointed! Worth the hype! Seeing as this little dessert shop has won so many accolades, I knew I had to swing by to try it myself. I let the worker know that it was my first visit, and immediately, a customer launched into all of her favorites and raved why the place was so good. The worker also added in some of his own reccomnedations and I ended up getting a huge spread: Smoked Brisket Eggrolls, Boudin Eggrolls, Crossaint Kolaches, Jumbo Suasage, Cheese, and Jalepeno Kolache, Ham & Cheese Kolaches, Breakfast Tacos, Ube Donuts, Pandan Donuts, Glazed Donuts, and Donut Holes... Everything was so stinkin good. Every. Single. Item. Although the favorites had to be the tacos and the boudain eggrolls. The only concern I have for the restaurant is that since many items are made to order (which is awesome bc it means the food is fresh) my orders typically take around 30 mins to fufill. I tried to call ahead to order to-go to avoid the wait and business does not seem to have a functioning phone, therefore does not do to go orders. Located reasonably close to where my in-laws live considering how large and spread out the Houston area is, Robin's Snowflake Donut & Cafe was the number one place I wanted to make sure we stopped at on our recent holiday trip. Specifically, I was interested in trying their breakfast egg rolls. In addition to the egg rolls I got a mild boudin kolache, a sausage kolache, and a strawberry cheesecake donut. The egg rolls were only ok. The egg roll wrapper was very greasy and it heavily masked the flavor of cheese and egg. Sausage was the predominant flavor I could taste outside of the wrap and it was fine. The sausage kolache was more like a hot dog wrapped in a crescent roll. As someone from the Midwest who's used to eating real sausage, a hot dog was not what I was expecting when I hear/read the word sausage. Like the egg rolls it was ok, but also like the egg rolls it's not something I'd want again. I took one bite of the boudin kolache and didn't take another. The texture was too mushy. The best part of the visit was the strawberry cheesecake donut and that one thing made the stop worth it. I'm fairly convinced that if I lived up in Spring that I would be a regular at Robin's because they're just that good. In fact, they're so stellar that I'm actually a little jealous I don't live in Spring (#1) or that I don't have something similar in my neck of the woods. There isn't anything I've tried here that wasn't outstanding and based on the reviews / ratings, I'm certainly not alone. Based on looks alone, it looks like an average shop in a strip mall. There is limited seating, ideal for a coffee date or a solo meal. Takeout is what most folks are doing. Stick around long enough and one will always see a flurry of people going in and out of the place. They're coming for the same thing: excellent food and incredible customer service. Their donuts are top notch, however, it doesn't begin to scratch the surface of their fabulous offerings. Where they shine are their seasonal donuts and custom orders for special occasions. The letter donuts are popular for birthdays and are beautifully decorated. Their malasadas might be some of the best I've had outside of Hawaii, which is no small feat. Whether it's a maple bacon, cake donut, or fruity pebbles, or plain old fashioned, it's going to be a winner. The boudin / breakfast egg rolls deserve their own paragraph. Normally I scoff at fusion egg rolls but these are light, have the perfect amount of crisp and are delicious right out of the oven and when they're sitting around room temperature. Not one place can compare. This is one of the most foodgasmic businesses in Houston. Like any good Texas based donut shop, they also have kolaches and they're great. Jalapeño sausage or boudin ones are equally delectable. They also have fruit based (#2) kolaches as well and their fritters are enormous. Not enough people realize they also have a killer king cake that they serve during Mardi Gras season. All of their pastries are pretty, tasty, and very affordable. Lastly, the staff and the owners are some of the nicest people I've come across. Cambodian-owned donut shops are ubiquitous, but this has to be up there with some of the best in the country. Every time I've had their food, I'm left contemplating how much I enjoyed it for days. It sounds dramatic, but they've solidified their position as one of my favorite places to indulge. Drove out to the Woodlands area and knew I had to stop by Robin's since it appeared on a Yelp top list. It's a small, unassuming donut/breakfast spot in a strip mall. Upon entering, I was warmly welcomed by Robin and allowed time to peruse what they had, even though they were close to closing. I got a few donuts and orders of all of their eggrolls. The donuts were awesome as they have Asian flavors like coconut pandan and ube but also traditional ones. I loved the coconut pandan cake donut and I'm not usually a cake donut person. What really won me over were the eggrolls, its ingenious to use eggrolls as a vessel for "breakfast" and various other fillings. Kolaches may reign as the supreme breakfast to go in Houston but these eggrolls are my number one. If I lived closer, I'd be there daily. My personal favorite was the boudin eggroll, such a great flavorful sausage filling with some creamy melty cheese and all wrapped in a crisp eggroll shell. You have to wait a bit for the eggrolls as they're made to order but that just makes them all the better. This is, to me, def a destination food spot and for those willing to drive for food (and early since they close at noon) make the time and effort to do so! read more

We learned about Robin's Snowflake Donuts from a Yelp list of the best donut shops in Texas. When we were exploring northern Houston suburbs on our way to The Woodlands, it was the perfect opportunity to make our way to their shop. Upon arriving, you'll notice it's in a large plaza with many other businesses and plenty of non restricted parking. It's a cute little shop on the inside with elevated bar stool seating on one side and tables on the other. All of their donuts are front and center in the large display case. We chose a few that looked particularly interesting in the pandan coconut, ube cake, and creme brulee. We also had to try their breakfast egg rolls partially because of novelty and partially because we needed a protein fix. In terms of the donuts, you can't go wrong with any of these three (or for that matter anything else in their case on a given day). The pandan and coconut flavors were very pronounced and the texture of the donut was superb. It was like the perfect balance of sweetness and softness. The ube cake donut was also fantastic. The crème brûlée did a great job at mimicking the crunchy topping of the dessert with a custard center. In terms of the eggrolls, please go try these as well. With their perfectly crunchy exterior, flavorful fillings, and impressive serving size, you can enjoy them as a delicious main course for breakfast or brunch. Finally, you'll feel like a member of the family or a long time friend when you stop in. The level of service we received isn't routinely matched by other businesses. We moved to the area a few months ago and we're so happy when we discovered Robin's donuts. My husband and I always look forward to the fresh kolaches and whatever the special is of the day, while my two-year old son has literally loved everything he's eaten from there. Everything is delicious, and I have recommended it to countless neighbors and friends in the area. For my son's second birthday, we placed a custom order for donuts instead of a typical birthday cake. This place does not miss! The shop is located inside a shopping center and I'm so glad we found this hidden gem! The staff is friendly and helpful with what to order. They have a different selection of handmade donuts and breakfast times. Inside can get a little hectic when they hit their rush, but trust me it's worth it. After reading their reviews, I was so excited to try Robin's! I saw they had so many fun flavors and such unique offerings. I decided to make the trip and head their direction on a Saturday morning. At first, I almost passed it in their parking lot so definitely keep your eyes peeled your first time going as it's a shared parking lot in a strip center. When I walked in, there were about half a dozen people waiting for their orders but it was eerily silent. It actually really threw me off, it was so quiet. The team was very friendly and asked what I would like to order, but I needed some time to think about it, as the options were SO MANY. However, they asked me about 3-4 times in a 45 second time span. Finally, I picked something because I felt rushed and a little awkward with so many people in there, silently observing me. I decided on a dozen donut holes, a sausage and cheese kolache, and the boudin eggrolls. Unfortunately I was disappointed in all except the eggrolls; they were good, but I didn't know you could order either 1 or 2 and was given 2. They were really good, it was just a lot of food. My struggle is that they have so many options; there is what is showed in the display case in front, the side display case, what is listed on the chalkboard menu, and additional seasonal options. At first, I asked about a kolache listed on their chalkboard menu but they did not have it that day; being overwhelmed with choices, I decided to opt for something in the display case. I would go back to Robin's if I'm in the area, but I would not make a special trip. If you haven't been, I highly recommend doing all of your research ahead of time so you know what you want as soon as you walk in. They have "special" fritters available, I finally was able to get the cherry fritter and it's the best but you can't go wrong with any of these, including the traditional apple. Very friendly staff. I always love supporting mom and pop shops and this one didn't disappoint. Being our first time, the staff was very patient and helpful when placing our order and offered to bring the food to our car. Now, you might be wondering why do I have to wait for donuts...well actually we were waiting for our egg rolls as they are made to order, but oh boy was it worth it! Also, the wait wasn't bad as they had a table and chairs to sit, and a cute little kids play area, so something for everyone! In terms of food, I thoroughly enjoyed everything I tasted but my favorites were the egg rolls. I've had each of the components separately like boudin and the scrambled sausage and egg mix for their breakfast egg rolls, but man was it ingenious to fry it. I am still so amazed how crispy and flaky the "egg roll" was and the fillings just as tasty, especially that breakfast one! I also thought their kolaches/klobasniky were pretty tasty and was quite surprised how light and airy the donuts were. The flavors of each of the donuts were also so tasty, especially the maple bacon one where the bacon was still crispy! If you are ever on this side of town definitely give this cute little Cambodian owned donut place a visit! Ambiance was welcoming. Kolaches were good but Donuts were not that great..The chocolate with sprinkles was good, the "gourmet" biscoff donut topping was great but the donut bread felt a little stale. The disappointing part is when she put the filled donut (in picture) next to my biscoff (in the same paper plate SIDEWAYS in a bag. They both rubbed off on the bag (the chocolate topping ) so the topping was smeared on the bag and the plate It just looks a mess and I took it out for my family and they didn't even want it anymore. This small family run donut shop never disappoints. They encourage us to call ahead if we're ordering breakfast egg rolls since they're made to order and even was so kind to take a small order of their Ube Donuts. Yes they have the classic savory kolaches and the traditional donuts. And they do them well. Never greasy. And I love that they have other fruit fritters than apple, since I'm allergic to apples. Boudin egg rolls, who knew?!? Service and cleanliness here were spot on. Super helpful and prices are a great value. I tried the boudin egg rolls which come in spicy or mild. I would rate the spice level from 1 to 10 at a strong 6. It gives a ton of flavor but the heat is on the backend and stays with you. They were not greasy like I was expecting and the wrapper was fried to perfection. I am not a big boudin fan normally because of the casing and various ways it is prepared. This boudin had great texture, flavor, and ratio of cheese was super yummy. I would have them again for sure and as they are made to order it is about a 10 to 15 minute wait and they bring them to your car which is nice. Because it is also a donut shop I ordered my stand by sausage and cheese kolache. This didn't impress me, and there was very little cheese between the sausage and the bread, though there were also bits of cheese in the sausage. The sausage seemed heated more than cooked and the bread also seemed undercooked to me and more doughy inside than I would have liked. I have had the pleasure of going into this shop for several years, and when I tell you I talk about her boudain eggrolls, specialty nuts, everyone of her goodies are awesome! I love to patronize small mom and pops, this one however truly does stand out!!! This shop is owned by Robin and ALL her family, which some are not blood related but her love for her employees and the people that come in just melts my heart! She made minion donuts for my granddaughter, and she said thank you Ms. Robin. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the out pour of love you bring to the community! My daughter requested a donut cake for her birthday and Robin did not disappoint! The customer service is outstanding. We stayed in communication to ensure we got it right. My daughter loved it. These donuts are absolutely delicious. They have so many toppings to choose from. Donuts aside their kolaches are heavenly!!! So far I have had the boudin, brisket and sausage. I can't choose a favorite it's like trying to pick a favorite child. I literally pass about 6 other donuts shops just to go here. Robin's Snowflake Donuts definitely lives up to the hype! We drove 1 hour from Seabrook, arriving at 10 am on a Thursday morning. Lucky for us, there was still a selection of donuts. Pictured below was our 1st donut purchase of the morning. We also ordered brisket & boudin egg rolls. We especially loved the strawberry shortcake & animal cookie donuts. The egg rolls were hot, crunchy & flavorful. That's when I remembered the malasadas. So we ordered 4 fruit-filled. Everything tasted even better than the last thing we tasted. I liked the warm sugar-coated fruit-filled malasadsas the best. The malasadas & the egg rolls are made to order--phone in or order in-store. They offer a great selection of games to play during the brief wait or while breakfasting, which is thoughtful. The cozy shop is colorful, inviting & eclectic. Robin had a few moments in between the steady stream of customers & drivers picking up for customers & told us how she & her husband got started, expanding offerings as they are inspired by food they come across in their travels. She credits her husband doing most of the baking & daughter with decorating but it is easy to see she is the personable face of the business. We left, but not before buying MORE donuts to take home for the grandkids in San Antonio! The 4-hour drive in a cooler took a slight toll. Okay so-we came here YEARS ago for their boudin egg rolls when my son was playing FFPS at Meyer Park. I will never forget how good those egg rolls were.
