One of my favourite donut shops in the whole of the Greater Houston area, this is a lovely little place with dirt cheap products and good drinks as well. Indeed, this is one of the best little donut shops that we had the pleasure of visiting on our travels. We love it here and we come here regularly. When it comes to Kolaches, nothing can compete with Hot Bagel Shop of Houston, or the one in Round Rock (aptly named Round Rock Donuts), but in terms of plain glazed donuts there are not many places that can make them as well as Icy Donuts. Service was wonderful as well, and the people running it are some of the nicest people we've met in the north suburbs of Houston. The owner is super friendly and knows how to make his stuff. I go to school right across Icy Donuts!! It's a popular spot where all the kids go to get some breakfast besides the cup cereal the school gives us. lol. When I first went to this place, I was skeptical about it, but it was super packed and the kolaches were running out so I had to fight my way in. The kolaches were A-MAZ-ING! Delicious egg and cheese croissants, donut holes, iced donuts and lemon filled donut! I especially liked the frappe coffee with boba and the Vietnamese coffee is really good too (stronger than the frappe...but delicious). This would be my go to place for Vietnamese coffee if they had a drive thru, but if you're able to go in, it's definitely worth trying! The lady behind the counter was very nice. This is the perfect donut shop. The owner, Jennifer, is beyond accommodating and sweet. The donuts are delicious and just like all the reviews mention the breakfast egg rolls are amazing. So crispy and hot and just melt in your mouth delicious. I have a favorite donut shop in Tacoma, Washington called Pao's and I've had donuts from all over the West coast, and Arizona and I never thought I would find a donut shop as good at my hometown donut shop but I have, and it's Icy Donuts. I saw this place had coffee and went in. I saw a sign that said breakfast bacon fried rice and asked if there was any left. It was well after noon. I got the coffee. Jennifer insisted on making it for me and boy am I glad she did. It takes amazing! Not too sweet, not too creamy. I got a traditional donut (I think that's what it's called), which was so good. Sweet, nice outer crisp and a flavor I can't place. Then she threw in two donuts! I thought it was one until I checked the bag!! I am sold. This place is amazing. Today I was a 1st time Icy Donuts customer. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how sparkling clean this place is, a sign of good things to come! The friendly welcome I received from Jennifer was so nice! I told Jennifer that it was my first time there and that I had read all the reviews on Yelp & Google, so I already knew what I wanted to try. She was so nice and described how everything is made fresh and homemade every day. Ok, I was sold and hungry! I ordered 2 breakfast egg rolls (should have only gotten one, they're pretty big), I also wanted to try the breakfast bacon fried rice (also a HUGE portion!) I threw in a couple of lemon filled donuts too (after all it is a donut shop!) I have to say everything I ordered was hot, fresh and delicious. The breakfast egg rolls were so crispy and crunchy when I bit into it, it was filled with cheesy fluffy scrambled eggs with sausage and green onion, very flavorful and yummy! Then the breakfast bacon fried rice was scrumptious and loaded with bacon, eggs, green onions and light perfectly moist rice. The lemon filled donut was light and fluffy, fresh and delicious with just enough filling so that when you bite into it the filling doesn't gush out all over the place, it was just the perfect donut! Over all I would give Icy Donuts 5 thumbs up and 10 stars! I can tell you it was my 1st visit but definitely will not be my last! A must try! read more

I do not know where to begin. I stumbled into Icy Doughnut one early Saturday morning after picking up my grocery pickup. I thought just like a normal day and normal doughnut shop I would grab a kolache and a few doughnuts for the family. Well can I just say Icy Doughnuts changed my pallette. MEH! Just ordinary. Nothing special. The breakfast eggroll was different not spectacular. The other reviews made it sould like something from heaven... anything hot and fried is good, so I was expecting great. BUT I go to donut shops for donuts, and they were really "ordinary minus;" they were only iced on top, that is not "icy". Even worse, we paid like $13 for an eggroll and six donuts. No good. I could have gone to one of the chains and at least gotten icing on the entire donut. Not impressed. Still looking for an independent donut shop to shine. read more

Excellent customer service. She's super passionate about her creations. I had the Thai tea. She said the boba was honey boba and she warmed it. So it was super delicious. I feel like they're best known for their breakfast egg roll cause every customer ordered that while we were there...and honestly that was the reason why we went there! We talked to the owner and she told us that they make their donuts which is similar in taste to Krispy Kreme but with less sugar. We also got to taste test their bacon fried rice which was on the specials board and it was sooo tasty!!! Icy Donuts is super clean and their donuts/kolaches are to die for. Their donuts melt in your mouth and it is not too sweet, the cake donut was crunchy from the outer layer and moist inside, the kolache sausages are gigantic and they used real 100% sausages. Plus they have BIG selection drinks/juices/milk. This morning, i've tried their new item called "the Breakfast Bun" this bun taste so heavenly...it has beacon, sausage, egg, cheese and green union. Everyone should try it plus they have the best Boudain in town! What bring me back to this place is the cleaniness, expecetional customer services (when you're there they make you feel like family) and their gourmet donuts. They are the only donuts shop that offered Red Velvet Donuts and MM's Donuts plus more... this is our family favorite place now...we go there 3-4 times a week. Now I see why people love this place!!! A couple of months ago a co-worker brought in donuts AND breakfast eggrolls from ICY to work. They were incredible. I told my family about the egg rolls over and over enough that they finally agreed to try them. Here's the thing -- we live in Katy, TX over 40 miles away. Convincing them to take the time for this was pretty hard, but they were up for an adventure. The entire drive my wife and son were skeptical but once there they too were amazed. Phenomenal!! The breakfast egg rolls are awesome. You should also try the 'JC' coffee. We were too late for the breakfast fried rice, we're already planning a return trip to arrive early enough to try some of that too! We're glad we've tried ICY. It's not that I didn't enjoy my visit to Icy Donuts, it's good, but average, so I feel 3 stars is about right. The kolaches are good, but tiny in comparison for what I'm used to in terms of price-to-om nom ratio. The filled donuts and pastries are good as well, but their vanilla cream filling is just too sweet for me. The chocolate cream was a lot better, and I enjoyed my chocolate filled donut the most of out all the things I tried. The customer service is great though, the guy behind the counter was awesome and friendly and willing to explain and make suggestions and answer any questions or had. With so many amazing donut places around this area, that I'm sure I don't need to name, Icy Donuts holds its own, but it just didn't blow me away. I'll definitely try them again however because they are the closest place by my house. read more
