This doughnut place is my jam up North! Food - If you're a cake doughnut fan, this place will not disappoint. The Red Velvet Cake doughnut changed my life. First, I didn't know such a thing existed. Second, the taste is soft and velvety. There's just the right amount of glaze on the outside. Simply delicious. A close second is the blueberry cake doughnut. Some other honorable mentions are the jalapeño sausage kolache, ham and cheese kolache, and spinach and cheese croissant. The kolaches had good, tasty filling and breading. It's obvious that both were made fresh. The croissant is soft and buttery with a tasty spinach filling. I'll post pictures of these next time I'm back. Tip: Unless you're there at 5AM, everything's cooled off. Ask for your items to be heated up. Makes a huge difference in taste. Service - I always see the same lady and think she's the owner. She's super friendly, greets everyone that comes in, and takes care of all orders quickly. Ambiance - Its an in and out type of place so not much to say here. This has the usual mom and pop doughnut shop feel. This place is probably not great for my heart but it sure is amazing for my soul. I want to say the worker was very very sweet but the food we got was terrible. The tacos were super bland. We got the potato egg and cheese. It was like powder eggs and the sliced package cheese. I could barely get through eating it. The jalapeño kolache was also bland and the breading was almost undercooked. The donuts were as good as they could be expected for donuts. My go-to in the early mornings. Not only because it's right down the street from me, but the donuts are ALL mouthwatering, the kolaches are juicy & to die for & the owners are INCREDIBLY sweet! I always get the jumbo kolache with jalapeños & cheese & she always sneaks in a couple of donut holes for me. She also gave me freebies to try! Came in for a quick breakfast before a class I had in the area. I have been on a diet for a few months and this was a major splurge. But I'm glad I chose friendly's! Where do I began..today was my first day going to "Friendly Donuts" due to me getting tired of Shipley's and it's 3 minutes from my home. The glazed donut, the red velvet cream cheese donut, the sausage egg cheese croissant, the eggrolls, the boudain kolache are so exquisite it's ridiculous! The donuts are so moist/delicious , the croissants were moist/delicious and the eggrolls/delicious. Linda was soooo sweet and humble. So delightful food plus excellent customer service! This place deserves more than 5 stars! However, I went back again for more right before she closed and I got 2 red velvet donuts and she threw in one for me, 4 eggrolls because that was all she had, 4 glazed donuts, and 1 sprinkle white donut for my daughter and 1 sprinkle chocolate donut for her bbf and she even threw in one of each In there for my daughter and her bbf. The first order earlier was less than $20 and the second order I got not too long ago was exactly $10 so cheap, exquisite food, and very excellent customer service!
