In fact, when friends visit from out of town I'm going to take them to this (and only this) location to experience Shipley in its best form. When I tell you, all the I's are dotted and the t's are crossed at this location I mean it! I truly wouldn't be surprised if they trained new franchise owners at this very location because pretty much everything is elevated or on point. Pup in tow I chose the drive-thru. Pulling up to the order speaker I was greeted with an automated we'll be with you shortly message. After placing and receiving my order I opened the box and nearly audibly gasped. I've ordered one too many Shipleys Bullseyes in my day, but I've yet to see one that looked this perfect. The middle seemed piped. I also ordered two cake donuts, a buttermilk for now and blueberry for later. Both were delightful! The slight language barrier at the receiving window had me a bit worried, but this spot delivered. High expectations, but a bit disappointed. Service 5/5 - The lady at the counter was very friendly and nice. She provided great service and had a great attitude. Beignet - Surprising hit. They are made fresh to order and it was actually my favorite thing from our experience there. Donuts - The batter used made the donuts not quite as light as Krispie Kreme and had a bit more of a bounce/chew to it. The donuts are definitely better when slightly warmed up for a few seconds. Their glaze is where I think the donuts fell short for me though. It had a nice crispy texture but there is a slight added fragrance to it that I found distracting. I can't quite put my finger on what that fragrance is, you can't necessarily taste it but you can definitely smell it. The other non-glazed donuts like maple didn't have the fragrance but the maple flavor was a bit too mild. Jelly and cream ones were OK, were very filled. Kolache - Got the plain sausage one and it was nothing special. The sausage tasted like a breakfast sausage you'd get from a complementary breakfast at a hotel and then wrapped in bread. Would not get again. Americano - Pretty good, went well with the sweets. Overall not bad but I feel like we've had better donuts elsewhere. This is my favorite place to grab donuts. The staff are super nice and friendly. I'm always greeted by staff as soon as I walk through the door. The donut are nice, fluffy and yet chewy at the same time. I never had a bad donut here. There's always a huge selection. The staff even gave me fresh warm donuts despite me not asking which I loved. I went to Shipley's Do-Nuts on a Saturday morning around 6AM and was surprised to be the only one there. The location was a bit older but was still clean and well kept. I was surprised to see donuts that I hadn't heard of before or ever tried such as crunchy donuts or filled donuts with unusual filling. I asked the woman working about the new donut selections and she happily told me about each of them. I got 6 donuts for my friends and I to share and decided to only get one of the new donuts which happened to be a crunchy donut. The new donut was just OK and wasn't one I'd recommend. Thanks to the recommendation of my cousin from Louisiana, she advised this was the BEST place to get beignets outside of Louisiana (or maybe even better than!)! So I had to check it out... While there was an unfortunate delivery issue - no fault to the store themselves, thankfully the store manager helped rectify the situation. I am extremely grateful to this location's manager for helping me out, as who knows when I will have an opportunity to try these again, let alone be in Houston. Their beignets did not disappoint, especially since the manager made sure I had fresh ones (& fresh coffee) when I arrived! I recommended to anyone that this place is a MUST for the beignets AND Note, not all Shipley locations offer beignets. While they traditionally have icing sugar on top, we chose the cinnamon / sugar mix option instead (LOVE this version). I go out of my way to go to this Shipley location just because they have a lot more to offer than your typical Shipley. The beignets are made to order so they're always fresh, the donuts are delicious, the blueberry donuts are 'OMG so good!!", and the kolaches are fresh. Only downside is the last time I came, there was only one cashier working inside so you might or might not have to wait depending on how many people are in front of you. Plus, there was a communication barrier between the cashier and us (we had questions but she didn't seem to understand us nor could she answer us to the point we were just 'forget it'). read more

If this is the case, then why do they have it on Yelp???? I literally made the purchase in the parking lot while walking up to the shop. Not to mention the coupon clearly shows that expires in 2019. She took my phone to the back and ask the guy at the drive-thru window, then she called someone to ask them also. In the end she ended up honoring it and taking a picture of my voucher. The inside is very spacious with plenty of seatings. Not the typical Shipley's I have visited. I ended up getting six different assorted donuts and donut holes with the yelp deal. They had cute Pokémon and pikachu donuts. There was even hello kitty donuts. An abundant of selections to choose from. The beignets came with a quantity of four. They were freshly made and simply amazing. Incredibly soft and the powder sugar was perfect on the beignets. I purchased a chai ice latte that wasn't too shabby. Having to trek to Texas to get my kolache fix feels a bit too cruel, when I really just wish there was a Shipley's in my backyard. For all of the locations I've seen, this is easily among the better ones. They have it all: clean interior (and bathrooms), super efficient service, and dynamite food, all while operating 24 hours a day. More often than not, I'm here for the kolaches. Of the classic variety ($2.69), I dig the sausage and cheese or the ham and cheese. The jalapeño one has some additional kick and the kolache poppers are a nice bite sized version for only .89 cents each. There are also the specialty kolaches as well, which deserve a look always since they can sometimes change seasonally. The Big Earl sausage and cheese ($2.99) is particularly tasty but the boudin ($2.29) is a tasty choice that is worth a look almost always. The donut variety is pretty impressive, especially if one is going via drive-thru. I am usually a cake donut person, but for a little more than a $1, one can have virtually anything they carry. For the cake kind, try the Blueberry or Buttermilk. For all lese, shoot for the glazed, iced, or cream filled. Do-Nut holes are fine but I would recommend not going with their beignets because they're not the best and they're a mess to eat (especially in the car). Finally, they serve a mean variety of coffee. From cold to hot to frappes and smoothies, I wouldn't be surprised if they had a giant line during the morning rush hour. I'd find myself ordering a Café Aut Lait or an Iced Chai anytime during the work week. Something tells me that I'd still be coming here late into the night regardless ... read more

The good thing is that in the middle of the night it is still open because it's 24 hours, and unlike some of the 24 hour locations around this one actually will serve you piping hot fresh gooey amazing doughy Donuts at 3 in the morning. They don't always have fresh hot donuts but about 80% of the time I've been here they have been right out of fryer - extremely hot and wonderfully delicious. Not to mention the fact that they are dirt cheap, and that the employees at this location will often throw extra Donuts in the bag for me. For someone that is only ordering one or two at a time, that's basically doubling my order, out of the kindness of their donut hearts. I donut take that lightly. Shipley Donuts was right next to my hotel and I noticed this was a chain like Krispy Kreme or Dunkin so I had to check it out. "Today, Sunday, at approximately 11:30 PM, I went to Shipley do nuts located at 12403 Westheimer Rd. I was attended to by the rudest and most disrespectful person I have ever encountered in my life. This young lady, whose name I do not know, was literally shouting through the speaker. Her customer service was the worst I have ever experienced, and I find it disrespectful for a customer to be treated this way. Upon arriving at the window, I was attended to by another African-American gentleman who apologized to me and appeared embarrassed. I felt bad for him. I was accompanied by my wife and child, and knowing that they had to experience this left me speechless.
