Fast forward a few years and back again. This time it was slightly on the miss side when it came to customer service. Everyone seemed occupied sitting around and doing random non-work stuff. Only one person was behind the counter even though I saw about 3-5 employees. I only came to buy boxes of donuts to take back home with me. Typically, they use the 6-donut box, but this time, she was insistent on using the flat dozen box....but I had to be insistent on two 6-donut boxes since I was taking it in my personal bag. And YES donuts are allowed in a personal/carry-on!!! I ordered a chocolate filled donut for myself. I came in the morning, so they were pretty much fully stocked with the ones I selected. The donuts seem much smaller than last time...and I was able to down 3-4 donuts at once back then....now it would probably be more like 5-6. It was roughly $11 for a dozen donuts. It tasted okay. I've been here twice (in the morning). The Do-Nuts are never fresh. I've wasted my money twice. I simply wouldn't go here.

We were in the area and decided to finally try Shipley's Donuts. It was later in the morning. Not really early when we arrived to pick up their donuts. Inside, the donuts were laid out in front of us and the kolaches were to the side next to the cashier. We got a bunch of donuts and kolaches. Here's a breakdown of what we tried: Apple fritter (3/5): this wasn't too bad to me. My mom didn't like the cinnamon flavor. Maple iced (3/5): the icing was tasty, but the donut itself was dense and stale. Raspberry filled (4/5): my sis thought this was pretty good, with an ample amount of fruity raspberry filling and a soft, yeasty donut. However, my sis said she's had better. Chocolate iced (3/5): my lil bro thought this was overly sweet and his donut was stale. He was ok with the chocolate flavor, though. Sausage, Jalapeño, and cheese kolache (4/5): I think we all enjoyed this the most. There were real jalapeños in it , which gave it a nice kick and flavor. The sausage was tasty and adequate. The bread wasn't too bad either. If I go back to Shipley's, I'm definitely getting these. Overall, my impression so far has been that the kolaches are worth getting. The donuts not so much, since I've had better quality donuts from Krispy Kreme and even HEB (gasp, I know). However, I might give their donuts another go when I can come here earlier in the morning when they're more fresh. I'll likely stick to their OG donuts, like their original glazed, sugar, or cinnamon sugar. read more

Great place to stop by for breakfast. A six dozen box of donuts will only cost you $6. My favorites are the chocolate filled, the raspberry filled, and the Bavarian (custard filled). I don't recommend their coffee though; the cold brew black coffee that we got was sour. I think it's just the beans they use. read more

There are 2 Shipley locations within our house but we go out of our way here for the donuts and kolaches cause it really is the best around. Their kolaches are absolutely the best- soft, warm and the jalapeño slice they have in their gives the perfect kick. The plain glazed is also perfectly soft and almost melts in your mouth. Our daughter always goes in for the pink sprinkled donut. It's sickly sweet but hey, that's what a 2 year old wants and likes, can't argue with that. The staff here is also amazingly welcoming and always says interacts with our everytime we come in. We love Shipley's! read more

The faces in the drive-thru are pretty new, but the great service is the same. I always get hot, fresh donuts and kolaches whenever I visit this location. The last time I visited, they even threw in an extra, hot glazed donut! They have the best kolaches! Two that I've just tried, recently: The Big Earl (which is made with a thick sausage and cheese, wrapped in foil) and the Brisket and Cheese). They are both hearty and flavorful! Can't wait until it gets cold, again, to grab some of their tasty hot chocolate! read more

Shipley's is my favorite donut place. Their glazed donuts are perfection. There are usually two Hispanic ladies working at the counter at this location who are always friendly. Also nice that there's a Starbucks next door in case you want to pair your donuts with better coffee options. read more

This location is a couple of miles from my home and also on my way to church. My wife and I have been here 50 times in the last 4 or 5 years and the place is great. The window service is prompt and the inside is neat and clean. We have tried most of the donuts and kolaches and everything is hot and fresh and the coffee is good. I went inside to order a year ago because there were several people at my house and I hate to do drive thru for large orders and hold up other cars. The owners grown son served me and asked why I came in instead of drive thru. I told him my daughter just had brain surgery and we had a house full of people. The place had sooooo many ants!!!! Opened the box to find so many ants crawling inside the box. Never coming back to this place ever again. This place should be shut down ASAP. Having this amount of ants crawling around should break so many health code violations, and I'm pretty sure that in order to accumulate this many ants, they don't regularly clean. All the Shipleys I have been to never had this problem. This is the first time I have ran into this problem. The amount of bakeries I have been to never had any ants. I was super excited about having a Shipley's closer to me but this was unfortunately the WORST experience I have ever had at Shipley's. I don't even think I could ever say WORST in the same sentence but I did. First thing that went wrong is I went up to the counter and the counter person looked like she was pissed and unhappy to be at work. I was holding their grand opening coupon in my hand and I started ordering donuts which she decided to put in paper sacks which is so weird because every other place I have been to whenever you order more than like 2 donuts will use a box for you. She had all the donuts all mashed up and in multiple sacks that I couldn't even keep track of how many donuts I had ordered. Found out after I ordered 2 cinnamon twists that they were not included in the coupon. I misread the coupon and found out instead of ordering a dozen donuts for another 1/2 dozen, it really read order 1 dozen to get 50% off your second dozen. So it's true I made the mistake thinking I would be getting 18 donuts when in reality I was needing to order 24 donuts but the counter girl was such a total witch because she saw me with the coupon and I am sure she had tons of people come through and didn't say anything at all. She was very rude in pointing that out. I was so sick of her that I said screw it and decided just to hasten the transaction to have it over with. So when I thought I would be getting 18 donuts, I ended up with 24 donuts and 2 cinnamon twists and paid $14.46 for all of it. When I saw all my donuts getting SMASHED in sacks (I had picked an assortment which included filled donuts), I asked her to put the donuts in a box and she refused saying if I wanted a box I had to say so from the start. If a customer asks you for a box, give her a box especially if she has iced and jelly filled donuts. I took pictures and let me tell you it shows how careless she was with handling the donuts. Even worse was the taste of the donuts. Usually every Shipley's I have gone to when you order just plain glazed, they go in the back and get you piping hot fresh melt in your mouth donuts. Sadly, when we got home, I sank my teeth in a cold already starting to get hard donut. I bought 6 glazed that were wasted. Our family gave feedback for the rest of the donuts and they were stale. DO NOT GO HERE...their donuts are NOT FRESH and ARE STALE and COLD. I am going back to the Hwy6 Shipley's location. I totally am normally a fan of Shipley's but this experience was the pits. I was excited when I saw that a Shipley's was opening right in our neighborhood. My kids and I love Shipley's. We stopped in on a Tuesday morning right before school (got there before 7:30am). The place was nice and clean. Nice flooring compared to other Shipley's. We got some donuts, donut holes and some kolaches. Unfortunate everything was cold! I'm wondering if that's just how they serve stuff because there was a microwave out by one of the tables. Thought that was odd. Was really disappointed. Was expecting hot fresh donuts and kolaches! Might give them another try, otherwise we will drive a little further from home to the other Shipley's we've gone to in the past. read more

I love Shipley's Donuts and am SO EXCITED about this new location! My family and I went for the grand opening yesterday and we each got a free glazed donut. They're also running a deal right now on ceramic mugs and travel carry mugs. If you buy either one for $2.49, it comes with coffee/hot chocolate/French vanilla cappuccino and subsequent refills on return visits are only $.50! What a steal! We will definitely be returning to this location many more times. Can't wait until the Starbucks next door opens up, either. read more

DISGUSTING! Was in the drive thru of this Shipley's when I looked into the window and saw one of the workers handling chocolate covered donuts with their bare hands. Then he proceeded to LICK THE CHOCOLATE OFF OF HIS FINGERS AND CONTINUE TO HANDLE THE DONUTS. When he saw me looking at him, he looked like a deer caught in the headlights.
