Always a great place to work. The food is generally pretty decent. I had a berry parfait today. It is usually fresh. The service can be hit or miss. Employees are usually very nice but there can be one or two that aren't always so warm or approachable. Nothing major tho. It is typically pretty quiet and the music is always at a decent level considering that most people work when they come here. read more

Once you walk in, get ready to live the name of the place: Slowpokes. What I mean by this is; give yourself a chance to slow down and enjoy the experience. From the great playlist to the warm décor, you're welcomed into a space that makes you forget you're still in the city. The employees make you feel like you're the only person that matters in that moment. The way they connect, explain the menu, offer suggestions, and engage in friendly banter is truly masterful, a very refreshing surprise in a world that moves too fast. We ordered a mix of coffees and breakfast sandwiches, all of which were tasty and unique. The chicken panini was a wonderful blend of salty and creamy mozzarella cheese , with a beautiful pesto sauce. The prosciutto fig sandwich was a perfect balance of savory and sweet. Now, the pastries one word: "Amazing" The pumpkin muffin was so good it kept inviting me back for another bite, with a light frosting that highlighted the spices perfectly. The lemon bar was also very good, though I'm a bit picky with lemon desserts since the eggy aftertaste can be hard to hide. This one does a solid job, but that slight hint is still there. The honey lavender coffee is a neatly crafted, lightly sweet drink. I recommend adding an extra espresso shot or asking for less sweetness. If you're an espresso fan, do yourself a favor and get one here. It's citric, nutty, and coats your mouth with a beautifully crafted shot. Only caveat is service once you finish your meal as there is no clear place to leave all your dishes and during my time I did not see anyone from the restaurant help pick up any dishes. Overall, definitely come here for breakfast and a great coffee. This might just become my new go-to coffee spot. This review is for the Memorial location. read more

Can't say this is a standout- we had paninis. Avocado toast, bagel sandwich, and 2 flatbreads with various drinks all around . I thought the cauliflower flatbread would.be low carb but it did spike my blood sugar. I thought the texture of the flatbread was a little hard and chewy. So if you are on a low carb diet or diabetic, this is def not the crust for you! read more

I stopped by for breakfast as I was shopping in the area with my sister. We came across this coffee shop! It's very aesthetically pleasing and offers a variety of food and drinks. I ordered the "Purple Rain" which is an iced latte with ube and vanilla. To eat I got the Cali sandwich. I really enjoyed the drink! The presentation was great! It wasn't too sweet and very enjoyable. The sandwich was so delicious! The aioli and hummus really made the sandwich taste amazing! The sandwich was $11 and the drink was $6.50 for a regular size. I recommend this place for enjoyable food and ambience! It's also a great place to study and offers free wifi! read more

Always love coming here for their lattes! This time I got the purple rain - ube vanilla latte. Their lattes never disappoint and they have great flavors. I haven't tried any of their breakfast items yet but I definitely will in the future. They have merch too. There's always a crowd there - it's a great place to meet and work. Nice ambiance and ample seating, with a few tables outside. Can't wait to try their seasonal flavors! read more

Love slowpokes, amazing place with amazing baristas that love coffee. I get the purple rain with ube. So good. This location tends to get a bit busy on weekends so be prepared to wait but definitely wait because its worth it. There's lots of seating here and places to just sit down and chill. read more

I enjoyed a tasty latte here on a busy Sunday morning. Initially, the barista gave me the wrong latte, but graciously and promptly made me a new one, so no complaints here - thanks Slowpokes! I tried the ube latte, which at around $6-7, is slightly on the pricier side but typical for the area. I liked the subtleness of the ube flavor mixed with the coffee. The ambiance of the restaurant is pleasant, with a mix of folks working on their laptops and families enjoy their weekend. They also had some board games which was a nice touch. Parking was easy as well. All in all - I would recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for their coffee fix. read more

Great reliable coffee with 'for here' proper sized ceramic cups with latte art (most times). Appreciate they carry Sinful bakery cinnamon rolls (taste awesome) as otherwise their vegan menu is limited. Good vibes. Always crowded but easy parking in the lot or on the residential street beside it. read more

I like the consistency in their quality and service across different Slowpokes locations. It was packed on a Saturday afternoon. Very spacious interior in a small plaza that looks fairly new. Plenty of tables to sit at and easy parking. Relatively the same menu as other locations serving food and a variety of drinks from coffee to tea. My go to is the iced chai but I decided to try their purple rain. Pretty good and service was pretty fast despite how busy they were. read more

We needed a place to get some work done on this beautiful Saturday afternoon, and had read the Slowpokes in other areas was a fantastic place to get work done. The menu was incredible - way more extensive than what you might expect from a "coffee shop" and all day breakfast is a huge plus. We got the breakfast bagel (which they modified for us as vegetarians - sub bacon for avocado - generally a winning substitution) and the brie flatbread. The flatbread was fantastic (a little more fruit to offset the brie wouldn't have hurt though), and the breakfast bagel was solid (really tasty but not necessarily groundbreaking). The drink was yummy though the cake ball was not my favorite). The major loss for this is that the WiFi requires a paper copy of your receipt, which was not revealed by the cashier, and due to the immensely long line, using the WiFi (kind of the whole reason to come to a coffee shop to work) became, practically, a non-option (presumably would have needed to wait in line, and ask for a print copy of the receipt). So we had to hot-spot our phone to use the Internet. Still a nice place, with a nice vibe, though a little louder than would be preferred for a work spot. A great place to come for a bite and light work, but not a place I would recommend to someone needing to seriously get the work done. read more

Had the best decaf iced latte (with soy milk) in my life! Tasted like the most delicious chocolate milk! Unbelievably good. We were greeted by friendly Sabrina and another warm and welcoming barista when we walked in, there were lots of people working on laptops and meeting up with a friend, yet it wasn't loud or noisy. Just an inviting and a pleasant atmosphere. Fantastic service and superior coffee. We were just visiting Houston. Wish I could come here every day! read more

I really wanted to like this place because it is close to home. I've been there 3 times and my biggest complaint is that the sandwiches hardly have any protein. The first time, I had the chicken salad sandwich and the chicken sandwich had a smear of chicken on the croissant. The place had just opened, so I figured that employees were still being trained. I don't remember what I had the second visit, but this third visit, I had the Cali Sandwich. You can see from the photo that the sandwich is mainly bread and spinach! When I first walked in today, there was only one open table. I thought maybe things had improved. As I sat there I noticed that everyone around me was sitting with their laptop working on it. I guess this is the new hangout place. So, I guess if you need a place to work, this is the place to have coffee and hang out. The place is nice and has nice music. The employees are friendly but spend most of their time socializing with each other. After one of the tables opened up, a customer had to ask the employee to clean the table. Unfortunately, I won't be back and I wouldn't recommend this place for their food. However, if you want coffee and a place to work, then this is the place. read more

I was so giddy to find a slowpokes had opened in the Memorial area. It's so great to have another coffee shop option in this area. Similar to the other slowpokes franchise, this one had the same menu offerings of coffees, teas, speciality lattes, alcohol and food items. I tried the Reese's specialty latte and really enjoyed it. It was a peanut butter and mocha latte and was very smooth and delicious without being overly sweet. My husband got the nitro cold brew and it was definitely velvety. I really liked the space they had as well. Decent number of seating for booths and free tables. My favorite part is that there are plenty of plugs everywhere. The atmosphere was definitely family friendly with many young families there on a Saturday morning. I'm glad to know they had high chairs and even a changing table in one of their bathrooms. Overall had a great experience here. The one thing that was tough was parking is pretty limited, so avoid high traffic times! read more

I love slowpokes and was a little worried it'd lose its charm when I saw it becoming a franchise but this location was just as good as the others for me. Food is great and drinks are too. It gets busy and crowded so parking and seating can be a challenge but I'll definitely visit this location again! Highly recommend the breakfast tacos and mimosas, as well as their specialty lattes read more

Okay, I have so many things to say about this place. Sadly, it won't fit in a yelp review... Just to start, the food was SO GOOD. I got the Ham and Brie Croissant and it was great especially with the apple butter. Also their lattes were great. I had "The Slowpoke" and I can tell you, no other latte could match that one. Im not going to lie the speed at which they got out the lattes and food was superhuman. For how good it was I was surprised it only took them 1 game of uno to dish it out. And yes, they gave board and card games in this joint. One thing I will point out though is that the person who was taking our order was struggling just a tad. 8/10 on service, 10/10 on Uno, and 9/10 on food. Overall this place deserves a 9.5/10 read more

My husband and I were there yesterday afternoon and they mistakenly charged my card $22.03 ($4.50 for a regular latte, $3.75 for a flat white, and $6.00 for a pretzel plus tax=$15.43 and a tip $2.00, the total is $17.43). I told them to adjust the bill and refund the overcharged, but I was told it would take 5 business days for the overcharge to be refunded. Also, they charged an extra $0.75 for pretzel dips, which was unreasonable, and didn't let me know that dip was an extra charge, they need to put the dip price on the menu, cause a complete and itemized price list will help avoid any misunderstandings later. This is the first time we came at this newly opened coffee shop, I was a bit disappointed with them, maybe they are still not used to working yet. We will come back as my house is only a block from this store. read more

We went on a Sunday morning for some delicious drinks, and they did not disappoint! With a wide menu, Slow Pokes offers some of the most creative drinks I've seen at a coffee shop. Here are the drinks we got: Black Magic Shaken Espresso w/ almond milk - The flavors of this drink were nothing like I've ever tasted before. Unsure as to what "black sugar" would entail upon ordering, I'm so glad I took the leap and ordered it. It was a beautiful craft of sweetness from the black sugar with strong notes of espresso. Chai w/ oat milk - Their chai had incredible notes of spices that paired perfectly together, with a delightful dash of cinnamon on top. The drinks were so good, we decided to come back a few hours later for brunch. The bagels were absolutely delightful, dare I say one of the best bagels I have ever partaken in. The fresh bagel was the perfect balance of soft and crispy, and the seasoning was incredible. The salmon bagel had the most tasty smoked salmon, with flavors of dill and lemon shining through. The cucumbers were fresh and added a crisp texture. The eggs on the breakfast bagel were scrambled and mixed with bacon, spinach, and cheese; a chef choice that I thought was absolutely brilliant. The silky cream cheese on both of the bagels was some of the best cream cheese that has ever entered my mouth, with the perfect amount of creaminess. The fresh tomato and avocado was a delightful addition to the breakfast bagel as well. (Swipe to side 3 to see arguably one of the fattest bagels to ever exist) The service was incredible, and we loved the overall atmosphere of this establishment. (The adorable critters on the wall were so cute that we even bought two stickers with them on it to take home with us!) read more

Nice addition to the neighborhood. This Slowpokes is located in a new strip center. The interior is attractive and uncluttered and there are several tables outside for when the Houston weather is cooperative. The service was quick and friendly. The coffee is great, and the food is fair. I had the bagel with lox, and it was okay but not great. Since it is in my neighborhood, I look forward to trying some of the other food items. Hopefully that will improve my opinion. read more

I had gone to the Slowpokes in Spring Branch, so i was super excited to hear that one was opening closer to the energy corridor. Pleased to find one of my former students greeted me with a warm and enthusiastic welcome. I fell in love instantly with the open and friendly ambiance. Slowpokes used to be my go-to coffee place but in the past year, the quality has gone down. I think this location specifically does not do their coffee justice. I got the "With Love" latte and it was super bitter and also watered down. Their chicken salad croissant was poorly made and did mot taste fresh. I recently went to the Kirby location and ordered a hazelnut latte, it also did not taste great. With so many locations now, their focus on quality coffee has definitely shifted. read more

Just visited Slowpokes on Memorial Drive. Had the Salmon Bagel. It was excellent. Service people were also great. On the other hand there were (are a few issues). First parking. Parking lot for 3-4 businesses has limited spaces. Was full at 10:30 in the morning. Had to park on street. (No parking behind the building. Second it was so cold inside that it was distracting. Had leave as soon as food was finished. Third, very limited seating. Tables for about 40 people. All filled. Counter seating was available. Thus 3/5 read more
