Small coffee shop with pastries; 6 inside tables; 4 small outside tables on front side walk; plenty of strip mall parking. Lunch taco shop a few steps away, and fine dining next door.
Cute little cozy spot for coffee! Inside isn't super spacious but there's some tables, couches, and window seats. My friend and I ordered the pumpkin spice latte, salted caramel latte, and a pumpkin chocolate chip muffin. The staff were friendly and our drinks came out within 10 or so minutes. The coffee art was done beautifully! The taste was nice but I should've ordered the coffee to be extra hot because it was a little lukewarm. The pumpkin chocolate chip muffin was delicious though! I saw some flyers for events that are being hosted at Verbena so hopefully I can make it to those sometime in the near future.
I always love coming to Verbena whenever I'm back in Houston. I study here and have lil coffee dates with friends and family. It always feels warm and inviting. It's pretty small and cozy with a homey vibe. Although there's minimal seating, I haven't had an issue with finding a spot. There's a comfortable couch, 2 cozy chairs, 4 small tables, and some high-top seating with charging ports. There's even a printer! They also have a little free library in the back, which is super cute if you want to share a book and grab a book. The baristas are all so kind, attentive, and quick. I've enjoyed their iced chai and iced vanilla latte. They also offer pastries and snacks. There's plenty of lot parking. Overall, Verbena is one of my go-to coffee shops in Houston and I highly recommend it!

What's neat is there's a little roastery operation in the enclosed room in the cafe, and sell local roasted coffee. They also feature what seem to be local artists and support a toy drive. Does feel very community-centric! Only one ding, there's cream soda on the menu but $4.90 a pop is a bit much for just canned soda (even if it's more premium), I would've thought it was house-made. Not sure if it was just that day, but the parking lot smelled terrible. Would study here again if I was in the area!
Mocha frappe with two shots of espresso and mocha added is what my wife enjoyed, it was very tasty. When i go the a new place i usually enjoy a hot cappuccino wit' two splendas. I bought a bag of their whole beans. I've ground some and enjoyed a few cups of their inhouse roastery, Hywood Coffee Roasters, the beans are a medium light roast called Early Riser....me likey.
Cute space with plenty of options. We tried caramel and mocha iced latte, both flavor were great! Convenient location as well!!
Hot honey oat cinnamon latte - 8/10 - Nice and creamy but could use more honey and cinnamon flavor Iced brown sugar honey oat cinnamon latte - 8.5/10 - After they added more syrup this was good and flavorful Pumpkin chocolate chip muffin - 8.510 - This is great for pumpkin lovers, tasty fall item and after being warmed up the chocolate chips werre gooey This cute and quiet little coffee shop is great for doing work at and they have lots of syrup options including fall drinks!
The staff are some of the nicest and happiest people I've ever encountered. I wasn't sure what to get but I noticed in the reviews that the lavender latte was popular. Personally I wasn't a huge fan of the flavor. I thought it was very water down. The price was fair. The place is small but cozy. Verbena is a cute coffee shop on Memorial, with a cozy ambiance and free books for kids to read! I ordered the matcha latte with oat milk and it was good, but you could tell they either did not use enough matcha, the quality wasn't that great or the drink was more watered down. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't anything to write home about. I only had the matcha so I can't speak for the coffee, but I'll give this place another shot for coffee next time!
Verbena Coffee is a great, local coffee shop that I just happened to stumble upon. I was meeting some friends in the Memorial City Centre area, but I was early so why not stop for a morning cup of coffee. Walking in, this place is very cozy and that freshly roasted coffee smell hits you right away. There was a variety of bar seats, lounge chairs, and regular tables to get some work done. All the wood features give this place a cool contemporary feel. As far as drinks go, I tried an iced mocha with almond milk. They have a variety of house made syrups so that's always a plus instead of the usual artificial syrups that other coffee shops use. The service was quick too despite it being a busy Wed morning. I'll definitely come back to Verbena Coffee next time I'm in the area. There was a variety of other coffee drinks I wanted to try, and their pastries looked freshly baked as well. Enjoy!
We stopped in on an early Sunday morning and ordered two iced lattes, lemon poppy seed slice, and cream cheese danish. Danish was my favorite part of the order, flaky croissant pastry instead of a standard type dough made this elevated. Coffees were par for us as well as the lemon poppy seed. For me, not nearly enough selection to drive repeat visits with so few unique or in house made flavors. There was a board that had some seasonal teas, but not much to stand out with. Crew behind the counter were nice. The atmosphere was a bit lacking on my visit. Needed some background music for sure, just too quiet, all I could do was hear the employees conversations since there wasn't event a peep of low-fi coffee shop music to be heard. They have a printer and some board games if you do want to sit around for a while, but I'd like to see this place focus on finding some identity with their flavors and vibe.
Verbena is my FAVORITE place to get chai lattes. So creamy and flavorful. The portion size is great too. I really like coming to Verbena to study and do work. I enjoyed the space. It was quiet and felt very community base. It doesn't feel like your standard 5 inch fingernail female handout spot. I ordered a Americano and it was nice and hot. I was stuck by a nail that looked about my age, probably mid 20s and he was a full individual. He helped me out. I told him that it was my first time and he walked me through the basics of their unique menu. read more
Cute little cozy coffee spot located in the middle of Memorial shopping center. It's not very spacious inside. There's only a few tables and all the seats were taken so I had to take my coffee to go. Service was friendly and helpful. I was promptly greeted as I walked up to the counter and I was thanked by the barrister after she handed me my coffee. This alone made it the experience enjoyable. =) My latte was good, not great. Just good. The menu seems very classic and basic, lacking any standout or unique options but I can see why it gets so busy and crowded. It has great vibes. read more

Very good iced matcha at a decent price. Cute little place tucked away on the west side of town near Memorial. Not sure how busy it gets, not a ton of seating but what they do have is comfy. Quick service with a friendly smile. read more
Loved this local coffee shop. The staff were super friendly with quick service especially during the busy mornings. The shop had a couple tables and a printer that could be used. Not super big but big enough to accommodate a good amount of people. I tried one of their weekly special lattes and it was delicious. The almond croissant was flaky and made a good pairing to the drink. Great prices and great service! read more
Dropped by this shop after looking up coffee spots around the area after having lunch on this side of town. Ample parking and the coffee was tasty. The barista was nice and helpful. The only downside is the it's a bit too small as seating is extremely limited. Probably more of a grab 'n go place. read more
Verbena has been on my list for years. I was running an errand nearby and stumbled on it! Easily one of the best coffee spots in Houston. As in, the coffee is high quality with global roasts featured daily. I had an iced latte with salted caramel and it was...wow. The other syrups claim to be house made. Mine, the caramel wasn't made in house but wowza it was good. The person with me got a cortado and raved over it. Plenty of seating for studying/working with outlets, also a couch area, tables and games. My latte was $4.90 before tax...amazing... read more
Verbena has been on my list of coffee shops to try for awhile. Happy I was able to experience it with three of my friends. It had been a minute since we all gathered- maybe a year?! Wow. I ordered hot chocolate, nothing special. Hot and delicious. Verbena has aesthetically pleasing interior and is decorated nicely. I'd say it has a minimalist touch. The service was great and she was very busy up front by herself. We went on a Sunday afternoon and there were so many people. I didn't know the place was this small, but it works. I love the couch and the high top chairs/bars. I'll definitely return if I'm in the area. Favorite things spotted were the books (duh) and the printer, great service very accessible. read more

This is an incredibly aesthetic coffee shop with a beautiful interior! It's a small space with about 20 seats but it wasn't too crowded on a Monday afternoon. It makes for a good workspace. Coffee prices are extremely reasonable and great value for the quality of the drinks! We tried a vanilla frappe and latte with honey cinnamon flavor - both were super solid. I'd definitely come back when I'm in the area. There's also a small collection of board games and books should you need entertainment. Note, they are cashless and only take card! read more

I had Verbena a couple years back and I wasn't impressed. However, I tried it recently and was pleasantly impressed. The interior looks vastly different than it looked before, it's more inviting and comfortable. I asked a lot of questions, which they answered with ease. I should mention that the frappe still has caffeine and it's a noticeable taste as the worker told me. I got a cream cheese danish, iced brown sugar latte, and a vanilla cream soda. For the cream soda, they added actual cream with the soda, which I consider pretty cool. I spent around $21 items for the 4 items purchased. The drinks were there taste wise and quality wise. The pasteries were a bit of a let down. They tasted kinda stale and it's something I won't get again. I recommend this place for good drinks and ambiance ! read more

You know those days when you wake up and have to go to work but you never actually REALLY wake up?? That was my Tuesday. And I'm so glad I listened to my gen Z instincts & did not show up to the office but posted up to work at this cutie coffee spot instead. I actually happened upon Verbena coffee by accident because I was dropping off a package at UPS next door. And wow what a wonderful world I had the vanilla cinnamon oat milk latte and my friend got the strawberry matcha The coffee was PHENOMENAL and I also got the pumpkin chocolate chip muffin (the phone did not eat first sorry bestiesssss hehe) The girlies at the counter were so kind and helped me choose a drink because I was being indecisive & lastly (as u can see in my) the vibe was SOOO COZY for a rainy day Highly recommend read more
Okay... this place is awesome! I got off work and had to run a few errands in this area and came across Verbena. I love my coffee creamy, strong and a bit sweet and wow. They exceeded my expectations!! I got the iced caramel latte, and my sis got the iced vanilla latte. Delicious! It hit the spot. My sis also got the almond croissant and raved about how delicious it was. The interior was adorable and so cozy and quiet. I definitely would recommend coming here to get some work done, or just sitting and enjoying your cup of coffee. They had couches, and plenty of tables with outlets for people to get their work done. I really enjoyed coming here and will be returning for sure. Service was also great. The barista was very warm and welcoming. I can't wait to come back. read more

Super cute coffee shop with cute decor. A great place to study or have a coffee date. Ordered an iced PB&J latte and an iced peppermint matcha latte off the limited time spring menu (not shown). Both were super delicious. They do have danishes and other snacks if you're looking for a quick bite. (also not shown) Really love that they have a leave one, take one book cart. It's adult and child friendly. Can't wait to come back to try different drinks and look at the book cart. read more
Despite the small size of the shop, the lack of noise gives a chill vibe making it a spot where you can be productive and put on your relax face. Or your RBF, whatever makes you happy . My go to is lattes and they do them quite well here. Paired with a blueberry muffin for a nice morning treat as I sat at their table looking outside and thinking what a wonderful world we live in despite all the chaos and noise we experience through the media. Located in Energy Corridor, you'll see this next to the UPS store so it shouldn't be hard to find. read more

This is a very cute coffee shop located in a shopping mall! It's very small and cozy with a very nice, accommodating and upbeat staff. This was a recommendation on behalf of my lovely sister who is a true coffee drinker and knows all the true cafes in Houston. I'm a hot cocoa drinker so I'm more apt to pick a few places and repeat. My sister ordered an extra hot latte. She really really enjoyed it! I ordered a hot cocoa and I was blown away that something so simple could taste so delightful! Whatever flavored syrup and chocolate syrup they used was top notch. At least it tasted that way I also got a piece of coffee cake. It was okay. We will be back! read more
